There are five new plans in total starting at ₹501 and going up to ₹2,595. The new plans have been introduced to include the recently launched Disney+ Hotstar Mobile plan. Vi previously offered the Disney+ Hotstar VIP subscription along with its recharge plans. In addition to a one year subscription of Disney+ Hotstar, these Vi prepaid plans also offer unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and 3GB of data per day along with extra data up to 48GB. Customers also get access to Vi Movies and TV Classic service for movies, TV shows, live TV and news. There’s also a data add-on pack priced at ₹601 that offers 75GB of data and Disney+ Hotstar Mobile for one year. This booster pack can be used along with an existing recharge plan. These prepaid plans also come with Vi’s ‘Binge All Night’ and ‘Weekend Data Rollover” offers. Under the Binge All Night offer, Vi users can get unlimited data between 12 am and 6 am daily. Vi launches new prepaid recharge plans with Disney+ Hotstar Mobile subscription

<ul><li>Balesh Sharma has stepped down as CEO of <keyword id="1553175" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vodafone-Idea">Vodafone Idea</keyword>.</li><li>Ravinder Takkar will be the new CEO of the company. </li><li>Takkar has been with Vodafone since 1994.</li></ul> Balesh Sharma, the man who oversaw the merger between Vodafone and Idea — is stepping down from his post as the chief executive officer of the company. "Under Balesh's stewardship, Vodafone Idea has realised a significant proportion of the synergies in a much shorter timescale than originally estimated. I wish him every success in his next role," said Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Idea. Sharma is credited with making the merger happen within two years, even though the original timeline expected the project to take a total of four years. The merger between the two large telecom players companies had created the country’s largest service provider. Since the merger, Sharma drove the strategy behind the combined businesses and led the largest-ever equity raise in India. "Balesh will be taking up a new role with <keyword id="137231" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vodafone-group">Vodafone Group</keyword>, which will be announced in due course. Ravinder Takkar, currently Vodafone Group’s representative in India, will be appointed as his successor with immediate effect," Vodafone Idea said in a press release. Takkar had been with Vodafone since 1994 representing the company in various offices around the world like Romania, London. For the past two years he has been in India.

New Delhi, Feb 6 () Telecom operator Vodafone Idea will drop brand name "Idea" from its postpaid services, according to an announcement made by the company on Thursday. The company's prepaid customers will, however, continue to get services under both Vodafone and Idea brands. "Vodafone RED postpaid plans will be available to customers from all stores and digital channels of both Vodafone and Idea brands. "While all new postpaid customers will be on-boarded directly to Vodafone RED plans as per their usage and preference, all existing customers of Idea Nirvana, the postpaid offering under the Idea brand, will be migrated to similar Vodafone RED plans," the company said in a statement. Vodafone India and Idea Cellular merged their mobile businesses in August 2018 to create Vodafone Idea Ltd. Both the brands are synchronising their entire business. The move to migrate postpaid customers to Vodafone Red is a part of the company's synergy plan."Beginning with Mumbai, this initiative will be rolled out in a phased manner to cover all circles over the next few months," the statement said.The change is applicable to enterprise Idea postpaid customers as well. "Prepaid products will continue to be offered under both Vodafone and Idea brands nationally across all circles via respective retail and digital channels enabling customers to enjoy a rich portfolio of services and benefits under their preferred brand," the statement said. Vodafone Idea to drop brand "Idea" from postpaid services

New Delhi, Dec 1 () In a first mobile tariff hike in past four years, telecom operator Vodafone Idea on Sunday announced new plans under which call and data charges will be dearer for its pre-paid customers by up to 42 per cent from December 3.
 Besides this, Vodafone Idea will also charge 6 paise per minute for every outgoing call made by customers on to the network of other operators.
 "Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), India's leading telecom service provider, today announced new tariffs/plans for its prepaid products and services. New plans will be available across India starting 00:00 hours of 3 December 2019," the company said in a statement.
 The company has announced new plans in "unlimited"category with 2 days, 28 days, 84 days, 365 days validity which on the back of the envelope calculations show are costlier by up to 41.2 per cent.
 Vodafone Idea has only revised rates of plan promising unlimited mobile and data services and also introduced some new plans.
 A company official explained all the existing plans in unlimited category will be replaced by the new plans from December 3 and new plans will be introduced or revised based on market response.
 Though the company classifies a set of plans in 'unlimited' category, these actually come with usage limit for data at a promised speed and 100 SMS per day limit.
 The highest rate of increase of 41.2 per cent has been announced by the company in annual unlimited category plan which will cost Rs 2,399 instead of 1,699 at present.
 The starting plan with data offering of 1.5 Gb per day with 84 days validity in "unlimited" category will cost around 31 per cent more at Rs 599 compared to Rs 458 at present.
 The company will raise the price of Rs 199 unlimited plan, which offers 1.5 Gb data per day, by about 25 per cent to Rs 249.
 Vodafone Idea which is reeling under massive debt of around Rs 1.17 lakh crore had earlier cited acute financial stress on the company behind the decision to raise mobile call and data charges.
 Vodafone Idea last month reported a consolidated loss of Rs 50,921 crore -- the highest ever loss posted by any Indian corporate -- for the September quarter on account of liability arising out of the Supreme Court's order in the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) case.
 The company has estimated liability of Rs 44,150 crore post the apex court order, and made provisioning of Rs 25,680 crore in the second quarter this fiscal. PRS RR MR

Voda Idea to raise mobile call, data charges from Dec 3 by up to 42%

Debt-ridden telecom company <keyword id="1553175" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="vodafone-idea" source="Orion">Vodafone Idea</keyword>'s board will meet on Friday to finalise plans for raising funds. Vodafone Idea has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (<keyword id="35140" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="bse" source="Orion">BSE</keyword>) that its board will meet on October 21 to consider a proposal to raise funds through the issuance of convertible debentures. "<keyword id="6583012" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vodafone-idea-ltd" source="Orion">Vodafone Idea Ltd</keyword> has informed the BSE that the meeting of the <keyword id="136326" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="board-of-directors" source="Orion">Board of Directors</keyword> of the company is scheduled on October 21, to consider and approve a proposal for issuance of debenture securities convertible into equity shares on a preferential or private placement basis to a vendor, subject to regulatory and other statutory approvals as may be required, including shareholders' approval," the company said in a notice to the BSE. Vodafone Idea has been trying to raise funds for a long time but has not succeeded. It may try and raise funds through the issuance of convertible debentures through private placement to a vendor. Vodafone Idea owes an estimated Rs 6,800 crore to mobile tower giant Indus Towers and also Rs 2,400 crore to ATC. Indus Towers is said to have asked Vodafone Idea to clear its outstanding dues and pay every month on time for the continuity of business post-November 2022.
