It was the first brand to reach almost full manufacturing capacity by the end of June, the report mentioned.<br /><br />"The contribution of Chinese brands fell to 72 per cent from 81 per cent in Q2 2020. This was mainly due to the mixture of stuttering supply for some major Chinese brands such as OPPO, Vivo and realme, and growing anti-China sentiment," said Shilpi Jain, Research Analyst at Counterpoint.<br /><br />It was compounded by stringent actions taken by the government to ban 59 apps of Chinese origin and delay the import of goods from China amid extra scrutiny.<br /><br />Overall, the smartphone market declined a massive 51 per cent (year-on-year) to just over 18 million in Q2 as April was a washout.<br /><br />The nationwide lockdown resulted in zero shipments during April.<br /><br />"The pandemic wiped out almost 40 days of production as well as the sales of smartphones due to the nation-wide lockdown. The quarter was marred by both demand and supply constraints which led OEMs to rethink their go-to-market strategies," said Prachir Singh, <keyword id="191938" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="senior-research-analyst">Senior Research Analyst</keyword> at Counterpoint.<br /><br />In June, the smartphone shipments registered a mild decline of 0.3 per cent (YoY) thanks to the pent-up demand as well as a push from brands.<br /><br />Vivo with 17 per cent share at third spot was able to manage post lockdown demand well as it exited the quarter with 60 per cent pre-Covid levels.<br /><br />The launch of flagship V19 and adding more smartphones like Y50, Y30 to its Y-series portfolio helped the brand to recover fast in June.<br /><br />"Local manufacturing, R&amp;D operations, attractive value-for-money offerings and strong channel entrenchment by Chinese brands leaves very few options for consumers to choose from. Samsung becomes second largest brand in India after Xiaomi - as Chinese smartphones' market share falls in June quarter

While the <keyword id="2577814" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="India-smartphone-market">India smartphone market</keyword> registered double-digit growth in the third quarter this year and reached highest-ever levels with 14 per cent (on-year) growth, the overall <keyword id="1094150" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Feature-phone">feature phone</keyword> grew marginally, primarily because consumers at the bottom of the pyramid continue to be sharply affected by the pandemic, a new report said on Thursday.<br /><br />According to the latest research from CMR "Mobile Handset Market Review Report for Q3 2020," <keyword id="10591" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword> emerged as the <keyword id="7569779" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="top-smartphone-brand">top smartphone brand</keyword> as well as and top mobile brand in the September quarter.<br /><br />From affordable to mid-tier to premium segment -- Samsung posted a strong YoY growth across price tiers.<br /><br />"In Q3 2020, the smartphone market offset the ongoing pandemic-related challenges in H1 2020 and grew handsomely. Across price bands, smartphone brands unveiled competitively priced strong offerings," said Amit Sharma, Analyst-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR.<br /><br />"We estimate the smartphone demand to outstrip other product categories during the <keyword id="7697696" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="festive-climate">festive climate</keyword>, despite cautious discretionary spending being low".<br /><br />The smartphone market grew on the back of attractive pre-festive season launches, aggressive marketing, and attractive promotions and discounts by all the leading smartphone brands in the run-up to the festive season.<br /><br />"Consumers from aspirational India, including first-time ecommerce shoppers, looked at shopping online, aided by the option to shop in vernacular languages. We anticipate online to drive over 70 per cent of the overall sales this festive season," said Shipra Sinha, Analyst-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR.<br /><br />The 5G smartphone segment grew significantly from a small base, by almost 500 per cent (quarter-on-quarter) with the launch of OnePlus Nord.<br /><br />Xiaomi dropped down to second position with its shipments declining by 5 per cent (YoY) on account of Covid-19 restrictions and supply chain issues.<br /><br />Vivo stood at the third position and its shipments grew by 7 per cent (YoY) driven by its V and Y series.<br /><br />Realme shipments grew by 13 per cent YoY mostly driven by the realme C series, including the realme C11, realme C6, realme 5i and realme C3, along with newly launched Realme 7 contributing 50 per cent of its sales.<br /><br />itel ranked number one in the feature phone segment.<br /><br />According to CMR, the smartphone market in the second half will potentially grow at 15 per cent (YoY), with Q4 2020 witnessing a 14 per cent (YoY) growth.

Shortly after, he pushes Lopilato away after she tries to fix his hair. </p><p>After viewing the Instagram livestream, Lopilato's fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns that Bublé was mistreating his wife. </p><p>Some users even resurfaced old videos of Bublé and Lopilato to show that the Instagram livestream wasn't the first time they've been worried about the relationship.</p><p>In one of the videos, Bublé reprimands Lopilato and says, "You're so dead," after she shows up next to him two minutes late. Here is what analysts are expecting, the numbers the company will be hoping to beat:</p><ul><li><strong>Revenue:</strong> $47 billion</li><li><strong>EPS:</strong> $1.65</li><li><strong>iPhone units sold:</strong> 45 million for the last quarter (expectations of 75 million in the upcoming December quarter).</li></ul><p>It will be another slightly humbling call for CEO Tim Cook if, as expected, he reports another year-on-year decline in iPhone sales. In the period last year, Apple sold 48 million iPhones.</p><p>But Apple goes into the call with two positive headwinds: The collapse of Samsung's recalled Galaxy Note 7 may have switched 1 million or more customers to iPhone 7, analysts say. And there was an extra week in the quarter which will juice the numbers a bit too.</p><p>Also, as we noted yesterday, investors are already focused on fiscal 2017 in which they expect big things from <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/cowen-apple-earnings-iphone-unit-sales-powder-keg-2016-10">next year's new "iPhone 10" which is expected to be a much bigger update</a> to the platform than iPhone 7 was.</p><p>Here is what analysts said this morning:</p><h2>Piper Jaffray (bullish) - Gene Munster and Douglas J. Clinton:</h2><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"The second and slightly larger group of investors believe the tail of the iPhone 7 is irrelevant, and is betting that the iPhone 10th Anniversary will yield a jump in growth from flat to up ~15%." </p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Sep-16 iPhone Units: Expect 44-46 million vs the buy side at 45 million ."</p><h2>Macquarie (bullish) - Ben Schachter:</h2><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Services at Apple remain the most underappreciated aspect of the Apple story." </p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"... For FY 2017 we expect AAPL services will net $27.6B for 11% of total revenue, but contribute 25% of gross profit. On gross revenue terms, AAPL's services business could be its own Fortune 100 Company, and we expect services will gross $61.3B in 2017, growing to $105.7B by 2020." </p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Macquarie</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><h2>Deutsche Bank (bearish) - Sherri Scribner et al:</h2><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Given increased build plans at Asian suppliers and a boost from short-lived U.S. carrier promotions, we are raising our iPhone estimates to 46M in C3Q and 75M in C4Q. While we expect some upside to results versus management's original guidance, we believe investor expectations have already moved higher and are reflecting a beat and potential raise." </p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Expects: 46 million iPhones sold in September quarter, with "strong demand in US with carriers reporting increase interest.</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>"Remain cautious long term:</strong> While we expect some initial upside to iPhone numbers, and expect shares to be supported by positive iPhone comments into year-end, we remain cautious on the shares long term, given the fundamentals of the Apple's main market. We see slower smartphone sales, lack of growth at the high end, limited market share penetration in emerging markets, and elongating smartphone refresh cycles as key inhibitors to Apple's growth longer term."</p><h2>JP Morgan (bullish) - Rod Hall et al:</h2><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"We are expecting Apple to guide to 4% below consensus revenue for FQ1 as smartphone demand remains weak globally, with the weakness more pronounced in the $400+ category. We are, however, increasing our iPhone estimates for the December quarter by 3m to account for possible help from the discontinuation of the Samsung GN7."</p><h2>BAML (bullish) - Wamsi Mohan et al.</h2><p>"We currently model 45mn iPhones for the Sep quarter and 81mn iPhones for the Dec quarter." That's a 7% decline. BAML is expecting 81 million phones sold in the December quarter, a 3% decline. BAML believes Apple added 1m units sold from former Samsung Note 7 customers.</p><p>"For the Dec quarter, our iPhone estimates are baking in an assumption of 3% Y/Y decline in the base business, which is less than the decline in the Sep quarter. The Dec quarter will get the full benefit of iPhone 7/7+ launch."</p><h2>Pacific Crest (bullish) - Andy Hargreaves et al.</h2><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"PCS estimates FQ4 iPhone units of 44 million and FQ1 iPhone units of 73 million." </p><h2>UBS (bullish) - Steven Milunovich, and Benjamin Wilson:</h2><p>The UBS team published a lengthy note discussing Prof. Clayton Christensen's "the job to be done" theory of how new products are developed and sold, which they refer to as "Jobs Theory" (as distinct from Jobs the founder):</p><p style="padding-left: 30px;">"Jobs Theory prioritizes the user experience over product attributes. Successfully serving a consumer's complete need and creating internal processes and measurements supporting jobs thinking is almost impossible for competitors to copy.
