The increase in number of dengue cases, ahead of the monsoon season, has put <keyword id="6354750" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="health" source="Orion">health</keyword> officials in <keyword id="6357713" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="uttar-pradesh" source="Orion">Uttar Pradesh</keyword> on alert. The state's Director General, Health, Vedvrata Singh said that Uttar Pradesh has the required medical infrastructure to counter the outbreak of dengue but the key to prevention was in the hands of the people. "There are 70 labs in the state with the facility of dengue testing at the moment and another 88 labs are being developed. Rapid Response (RR) teams have been formed at the block level who will take immediate action. Earlier such teams existed at the district level. At the same time, fever health desks have been established in every hospital," he said. Director, Communicable Diseases, A.K. Singh said that there is neither any medicine nor any vaccine for dengue and therefore, efforts should be made to prevent the mosquito bite. Even if the disease affects a person, recovery under medical supervision is possible, he noted. <keyword id="13953621" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="vikas-singhal" source="Orion">Vikas Singhal</keyword>, Joint Director, <keyword id="520601" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vector-borne-diseases" source="Orion">Vector Borne Diseases</keyword> (<keyword id="313015" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vbd" source="Orion">VBD</keyword>), said that people usually take fever lightly which costs them dearly. "If the fever persists, the patient should get tested for dengue. Upon diagnosis, high fluid diet should be taken along with medicines," he said, adding that patients should be saved from dehydration. Additional Director, Malaria Control, R.C. Pandey said that dengue can be stopped by united efforts by government, civic agencies and people. Rising dengue cases in Uttar Pradesh put health officials on high alert

Online furniture and home decore platform <keyword id="8080156" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="woodenstreet" source="Orion">WoodenStreet</keyword> on Wednesday said it has raised $30 million (nearly Rs 230 crore) led by <keyword id="678811" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="westbridge-capital" source="Orion">WestBridge Capital</keyword> at Rs 1,200 crore valuation. So far, it is the largest funding raised by any vertical furniture player for the year in India, said the startup that has over 50 experience stores in major cities and claims to serve more than 15 lakh customers. Founded in 2015 by Lokendra Singh Ranawat, <keyword id="13725267" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="virendra-ranawat" source="Orion">Virendra Ranawat</keyword>, Dinesh <keyword id="237740" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="singh-rathore" source="Orion">Singh Rathore</keyword> and Vikas Baheti, WoodenStreet had previously closed series A funding of $3 million from IAN and RVCF (Rajasthan venture capital funds). "We focus on design and innovation, enabling functional and designer items at affordable price," said Ranawat, co-founder and CEO. The Jaipur-based startup plans to open 200 stores in the next two years, and onboard close to 3,000 home decor brands. WoodenStreet also operates six manufacturing and R&amp;D facilities. "WoodenStreet has grown 100 per cent (on-year) in the past three years while maintaining profitability at net level, and we plan to achieve a turnover of Rs 600 crore in the next two years with this fund raise," said Rathore. The latest capital will be utilised to fund new market expansion, further development of the technology platform, expansion of supply chain and creation of new category offering, according to the startup. Furniture and home decore startup WoodenStreet raises $30 million led by WestBridge Capital

New Delhi, Feb 29 (PTI) Sebi on Thursday barred 12 entities, including promoter of <keyword id="20775931" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="v-marc" source="keywords">V Marc</keyword> India Ltd, from the securities market for engaging in a fraudulent scheme to manipulate volumes and price of the company's shares. Additionally, the regulator impounded wrongful gains of Rs 6.38 crore made by some of the entities from the manipulative scheme, according to an interim order. This case primarily deals with fraudulent and manipulative trading in the scrip of V Marc India Ltd, listed on NSE's SME segment, prima facie orchestrated by the promoter and company management, along with connected parties. In its order, Sebi, prima facie, found that V Marc's promoter and MD Vikas Garg and Sandeep Kumar <keyword id="19920909" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="srivastava" source="keywords">Srivastava</keyword>, former Whole Time Director of the company-- engaged the services of Prijesh <keyword id="20775932" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kurani" source="keywords">Kurani</keyword> to 'operate the market'. It further noted that Kurani, in turn, in addition to using his own and his connected entities' trading accounts, engaged accounts of persons connected to Garg to manipulate the scrip. Further, Garg and the company management channelled funds through their connected entities to Kurani for executing the fraudulent scheme. The alleged fraudulent scheme was set in motion as soon as the scrip was listed on April 8, 2021. "The impact of this alleged fraudulent scheme is evident in the manner volumes surged and prices increased after which most of the entities -- PV Manipulators-- as well as the IPO subscribers - exited fully. The shares offloaded were purchased by public shareholders leading to the increase in their numbers as well," Sebi said. Accordingly, Sebi has restrained 12 entities "from buying, selling or dealing in the securities market or associating themselves with the securities market, either directly or indirectly, in any manner whatsoever until further orders". Apart from Garg, Srivastava and Kurani, the other entities barred by Sebi are -- <keyword id="20775934" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sudhir-gupta" source="keywords">Sudhir Gupta</keyword>, Dharini Kurani, Rekha Kurani, <keyword id="20775933" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="surbhi-aggarwal" source="keywords">Surbhi Aggarwal</keyword>, Vinod Vilas Sable, Seema Garg, Madhu Srivastava, Jai Kishorr Singhal and Seema Agarwal. Sebi's examination which covered the period from April 9-30, 2021, was aided by data obtained from the mobile device of Kurani, seized following the 'search and seizure operation' carried out by the regulator at his residence in May 2022, in the context of investigation into the matter of 'Front Running of Trades of Axis Mutual Fund'. The data from the device, particularly messages exchanged on WhatsApp involving entities referred to in this order, including a copy of a signed agreement between certain entities, has served as important evidence in this case.
