By Namita Singh New Delhi, Apr 12 () Locked down in a training college near Palampur,Olympic silver medallist shooter Vijay Kumar has started learning law online as part of his training for the DSP post he holds in Himachal Pradesh Police. Kumar, who won silver in the 25m rapid fire pistol event in 2012 Olympics, also needed to undergo physical training but that has been postponed in the wake of the nationwide lockdown enforced to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. "I have stopped my physical training but still taking online law classes. Physical training is not possible at the moment as we have to maintain social distancing. I an confined to the training college in Daroh. There is no connection with the outside world," the 34-year-old told Bhasha. Kumar, however, said getting the daily essentials in the times of crisis is not an issue for him. "There are people who are ensuring that essentials reach us in time," said the Hamirpur-resident, who was in the Indian Army for 15 years. Kumar urged people to follow government guidelines on lockdown. "I am amazed that some of the people are still not practising social distancing. The police is working round the clock to ensure lockdown guidelines are followed but some people are still not paying attention. It is the only way you can defeat this virus," he added. <keyword id="6358821" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="shiv-sena">Shiv Sena</keyword> and BJP combine was headed for a win in <keyword id="13126" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra">Maharashtra</keyword>, leading in 43 constituencies. During 2019 <keyword id="6355187" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="lok-sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> elections, 542 out of 543 constituencies went for polling. The exit polls conducted by a majority of agencies had predicted a landslide victory for both BJP and Shiv Sena along with their allies. Chanakya and India Today My Axis exit polls presumed that NDA, the BJP led alliance would win from more than 350 seats. However, Neta-News X and News-Nielsen forecast the alliance might fall short of a few seats for majority with 242 and 267 seats predicted by them for the alliance respectively. While Neta-NewsX has predicted the lowest number of seats for the alliance at 242 constituencies, Chanakya has forecasted about 350 seats, the maximum for the alliance announced by any exit poll agency for 2019 Lok Sabha election result. The Chanakya exit poll has also forecasted a clean sweep for the BJP led alliance in the states of Gujarat, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Delhi where they might win all the 26, 10, 5 and 7 seats respectively. In 2014 general elections for the Lok Sabha, the results were favorable to the BJP with the party and its alliance winning a clear majority in the parliament by bagging 282 seats out of 543. This number was 166 seats more than what the alliance scored in 2009 parliamentary elections. There are 269 sitting MPs representing the BJP and 18 MPs representing Shiv Sena in the Lok Sabha formed after 2014 election result in addition to the MPs of their allies in NDA. The key candidates of BJP include the Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> contesting from Varanasi, <keyword id="6355521" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="amit-shah">Amit Shah</keyword> from Gandhi Nagar of Gujarat, Smriti Irani from Amethi, Raghav Lakhan from Saharanpur, SatyaPal Singh from Baghpat, VK Singh from Ghaziabad, Rajnath Singh from Lucknow and many others. The 100 <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=%E2%80%98Smart+Cities%E2%80%99+">‘Smart Cities’</a> project announced by the <keyword id="71" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Prime-Minister">prime minister</keyword> last month is the part of a government flagship programme. 
 <keyword id="6355121" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajnath-Singh">Rajnath Singh</keyword> will make a proposal to the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Urban+Development+Ministry+">Urban Development Ministry</a> that the former's 'Safe City' project should be combined with the Rs 48,000 crore 'Smart Cities' concept so that the 100 cities could be made smart as wells as safe from crime or terror. 
 The present 'Safe City' project of the MHA covers only seven metros - Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. The MHA now proposes to cover all 100 'Safe Cities' under the concept in association with the <keyword id="6696781" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Urban-development-ministry">Urban Development Ministry</keyword>.

Vijay Kumar</keyword> on Monday. "The smart cities need to be safe cities as well. We are planning to propose the same for planning in advance," Rijiju told ET. 
 
Last month, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=%E2%80%98Smart+Cities%E2%80%99+">Prime Minister</a> had announced names of 98 cities which will be specially developed as 'Smart Cities' as part of a government flagship project, with one nomination of a city pending from Uttar Pradesh and J&amp;K each. 
 "The idea is that MHA and <keyword id="81069" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="UD-ministry">UD Ministry</keyword> should not work in isolation on each of its projects and it is better that MHA works with UD on the latter's project rather than planning for the safety of the cities subsequently," a MHA official said. 
 
The 'Smart City' concept involves promoting mixed land use in area based developments, housing and inclusiveness, creating walkable localities, promoting a variety of transport options and giving an identity to the city based on its main economic activity.

 Termed as one of the “biggest reshuffles” in the history of the organization, <keyword id="818742" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="The-move">the move</keyword> came shortly after <keyword id="62743" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="DJB">DJB</keyword> set up a task force to crack down on tanker mafia. 
 The decision was taken by the new <keyword id="5645" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="CEO">CEO</keyword>, <keyword id="6369029" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Vijay-Kumar">Vijay Kumar</keyword>, who was brought in specially by Kejriwal shortly after he took oath. 
 
“The transferred officials have been working across 25 water emergencies and water filling points and the decision to move them from this department was taken to reduce the possibility of corruption. Any employee who has worked for more than three years in the department is supposed to be transferred but the rule was hardly implemented,” said a source. 
 
All those who have been transferred had been working in the department for over three years. Sources said that public interface in this department was huge and it was “easy to succumb to influence”. “Whenever we tried to transfer people, senior officials were put under massive pressure to stop transfers. Calls have even been received to stop transfer of beldars,” said the source. 
 
The tanker task force, headed by the additional CEO of DJB, has been tracking DJB tankers across the city to verify if they have been selling water instead of distributing it free. Officials said some discrepancies had been observed and action would be taken against defaulters.
