<ul><li>A new study claims the possibility of <keyword id="8134918" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="life-on-venus" source="Orion">life on Venus</keyword>.</li><li>According to this study, the presence of ammonia could be creating life on the planet.</li><li>Scientists believe that this process is how through this process “life could be making its own environment on Venus.”</li></ul>Scientists from MIT, Cardiff University, and Cambridge University have come up with a new study that claims the possibility of life on <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/science/space/news/nasa-shares-video-of-future-space-explorations/articleshow/87152796.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink">Venus</a>. According to this study, scientists say that the presence of ammonia could neutralise Venus’ acidic environment, and create a habitable space in the planet’s clouds. <br /><br />In this study, scientists created a set of chemical processes to show that the presence of ammonia in Venus would lead to a series of chemical reactions that would neutralise surrounding droplets of sulfuric acid. And scientists believe this is how “life could be making its own environment on Venus.”<br /><br />As for ammonia, scientists believe, could have been created through a biological process on Venus and not through lightning or volcanic eruptions as said in previous researches. Venus’ thick atmosphere with carbon dioxide and droplets of sulfuric acid surrounding it make it seem possible for any kind of life to form on the planet. <br /><br />“There are very acidic environments on Earth where life does live, but it’s nothing like the environment on Venus ­— unless life is neutralizing some of those droplets,” according to Sara Seager, a planetary sciences professor at MIT and co-author of the study.<br /><cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Not the first claim of life on Venus" comment="subhead" text="Not the first claim of life on Venus"><span data-til="noop">Not the first claim of life on Venus</span></cmsannotation><br />This isn’t the first study on the possibility of life on Venus. There was a major discovery last year by researchers claiming the discovery of phosphine in the planet’s atmosphere. Researchers claimed the presence of this colourless and odourless gas could mean the possibility of life on the planet. But data from this study was found to have been possibly inaccurate.<br /><br />But with another possibility of life forming on Venus, there’s room for more research and discovery of one of our closest neighbouring planets. There are even reports of it by the ancient Greeks and Romans who named it after the god Hermes, who pulled the sun across the sky.
