Jaipur, Vadodara to act as emerging hiring hubs, finds report

Mumbai, White-collar hiring witnessed an 8.6 per cent annual decline in September, following a negative trend in sectors including IT, BPO or ITES and <keyword id="34523" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="fmcg" source="Orion">FMCG</keyword>, a report said on Monday. On a month-on-month basis, however, there has been a growth of almost 6 per cent in job postings. In September, there were 2,835 white-collar job postings, down by 8.6 per cent compared to the same month last year when 3,103 jobs were posted, according to <keyword id="218117" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="naukri-com" source="Orion">Naukri.com</keyword>'s monthly 'Naukri JobSpeak Index'. The Naukri JobSpeak is a monthly Index representing the state of the Indian job market and hiring activity based on new job listings and job-related searches by recruiters on the resume database of Naukri.com. The IT sector continued to face global headwinds and saw the hiring numbers dwindle in the last few months, the survey said, adding that <keyword id="1400942" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bpo/ites" source="Orion">BPO/ITES</keyword> and FMCG also registered negative growth of 25 per cent and 23 per cent, respectively, in the period under review. Branch manager and financial consultant roles saw maximum demand, said the report. Meanwhile, the report found that the non-metro cities continued to outshine the metros for job creation in September 2023. Canada keen to strengthen trade ties with Vadodara

Vadodara, Feb 27 () Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has set up its first electric vehicle charging facility in Gujarat at Karelibag locality here. After inaugurating the facility on Thursday, HPCL Director (Marketing) Rakesh Misri told that it is the first charging station set up by HPCL in Gujarat. Hindustan Petroleum will plan, develop and install EV charging facilities at suitable locations throughout the country. The EV stops will be equipped to charge two, three, and four-wheeler vehicles. With the installation of public charging stations, the range anxiety of EV owners is expected to reduce, which will increase the adoption of electric mobility. Increased access to charging infrastructure is vital for the uptake of electric mobility across the entire EV ecosystem Misri said. As a part of Prime Minister <keyword id="456744" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="street-vendor">Street Vendor</keyword>'s AtmaNibhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme, the MoHUA entered into MoU with Zomato, to bring <keyword id="6770639" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="street-food-vendors">street food vendors</keyword> on its food-tech platform. In a statement MoHUA said that initially MoHUA and Zomato will run a pilot program by on-boarding 300 vendors across six cities namely - Bhopal, Ludhiana, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Vadodara. "The street vendors will be helped with PAN and fssai registration, training on technology/ partner app usage, menu digitization and pricing, hygiene and packaging best practices. Upon the successful completion of the pilot, MoHUA and Zomato plan to expand this initiative across the country in phases," it said. As per the MoHUA, this will give street food vendors online access to thousands of consumers and help these vendors grow their businesses. The MoHUA also launched the Mobile Application for PMSVANidhi se Samriddhi- Socio-economic profiling of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families to link them to various Central government Schemes. "Covid-19 pandemic has restricted consumers from stepping out and forced them to follow physical distancing norms. In the given scenario it is important to connect Street Food Vendors with technology-enabled platforms to help them grow their business, thus helping them gain financially," said the ministry. In a first of its kind initiative, MoHUA entered into an MoU with Swiggy on October 5 last year and it is now joining hands with Zomato to empower street food vendors with digital technology. Zomato joins hands with the Indian government to deliver street food in Bhopal, Ludhiana, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Vadodara

Shares of <keyword id="6358007" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank-of-baroda">Bank of Baroda</keyword> jumped 9 per cent on Wednesday after the company reported a profit-after-tax of Rs 507 crore in the March 2020 quarter. The stock zoomed 9 per cent to Rs 55 on the BSE. On the NSE, it surged 8.51 per cent to Rs 54.80. State-owned Bank of Baroda on Tuesday reported a profit-after-tax of Rs 507 crore in the March quarter, helped by lower provisioning for bad loans. Effective April 1, 2019, the bank amalgamated <keyword id="6359442" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="dena-bank">Dena Bank</keyword> and Vijaya Bank with it. The numbers for the quarter/year ended March 31, 2020 are not comparable with that of same period of the year ended March 31, 2019. Bank of Baroda had reported a net loss of Rs 8,875 crore in the same period last year. The provisions for non-performing loans declined by 69.23 per cent to Rs 3,190 crore as against Rs 10,368 crore in the same quarter of last year. For the full year, the bank reported a net profit of Rs 546 crore as against a net loss of Rs 8,340 crore during FY19. Bank of Baroda shares rally over 9% post Q4 earnings

New Delhi, Dec 3 () Sterlite Power on Tuesday said it has acquired Lakadia-Vadodara Transmission Project, a green energy corridor project from PFC Consulting Ltd.
 Earlier, the project was won by Sterlite Power. Now the special purpose vehicle incorporated for the execution of the project by PFC Consulting, has been formally acquired by Sterlite Power, a company statement said.
 Power Finance Corporation arm PFC Consulting is the nodal agency for auctioning power transmission projects in the country.
 Sterlite won this project through an e-reverse auction process under tariff-based competitive bidding process on July 16, 2019 and will execute it under the Build, Own, Operate and Maintain (BOOM) model for 35 years in Gujarat.
 The project is aligned to enable the country's renewable energy target of installing 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022 and connects the wind energy zones of Bhuj in Gujarat to the load centres in Gujarat and Maharashtra, the statement added.
 The project involves laying 350 kms of 765 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting 765/400 kV Lakadia substation to Vadodara substation in Gujarat, in a timeframe of 18 months.
 "This is another resounding success for Sterlite Power. We are proud to be part of this energy-transition journey of the country and are fully geared to contribute to it with this and more such projects," Sterlite Power Managing Director Pratik Agarwal said.
 With the acquisition of this project, the company has increased its domestic footprint in inter-state transmission projects to 22 states with a cumulative transmission line network of more than 9,000 ckms and 16,000 MVA transformation capacity.
 This marks the 14th addition to our domestic project portfolio. The company has a strong presence in Brazil with a portfolio of 10 transmission projects, the statement said. KKS DRR

In the polls, Dushyant Chautala-led Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), a breakaway faction of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), is hoping for an improvement in its prospects following the debacle in Lok Sabha election, in which Bharatiya Janata Party had won all the 10 seats in the state. The JJP had emerged on the scene following a feud in the Chautala clan in December last year. The BSP, AAP, INLD-SAD combine, Swaraj India and the Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) have thrown their hat into the ring, though none of them is fighting on all 90 seats. Prominent amongst those in the contest are Chief Minister Khattar (Karnal), former chief minister and Congress Legislative Party leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda (Garhi Sampla-Kiloi) and Randeep Singh Surjewala (Kaithal). The BJP has fielded three sportspersons -- Babita Phogat (Dadri), Yogeshwar Dutt (Baroda in Sonipat) and Sandeep Singh (Pehowa) -- besides TikTok star Sonali Phogat (Adampur). Prestige of families of Haryana's famous 'Lals' -- Devi Lal, Bansi Lal and Bhajan Lal, who were former chief ministers--is at stake. Late Bansi Lal's daughter-in-law Kiran Choudhary (Tosham) and son Ranbir Mahendra (Badhra) are contesting as Congress candidates. Devi Lal's great grandson and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala (Uchana Kalan) and granddaughter-in-law Naina Chautala (Badhra) are fighting as JJP candidates. Devi Lal's grandson and former chief minister O P Chautala's son Abhay Singh Chautala is fighting as INLD candidate (from Ellenabad). Late Bhajan Lal's sons Kuldeep Bishnoi (Adampur) and Chander Mohan (Panchkula) are in the fray as Congress nominees. While BJP denied tickets to 12 of its 48 sitting legislators including two Ministers, the Congress retained its sitting legislators while the INLD saw its prominent faces switching over to the BJP, the Congress and the JJP. In the 2014 assembly polls, the BJP for the first time came to power in Haryana on its own winning 47 seats. It won the Jind bypolls earlier this year, taking its total strength in the state assembly to 48. The INLD had 19 MLAs while the Congress has 17 legislators. The BSP and the SAD had bagged one seat each in the last polls while five were Independents.
