About the company The company is a sewerage solution provider with water supply system, water and waste treatment plants, electrical transmission and distribution and more. It has identified <keyword id="92310" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="va-tech-wabag" source="Orion">Va Tech Wabag</keyword> as its listed peer. It also executes road and allied projects, operates and maintains wastewater scheme projects (WWSPs) and water supply scheme projects (WSSPs) for government authorities. WWSPs include sewage treatment plants (STPs) along with sewage network schemes and common effluent treatment plants (CETPs). WSSPs include water treatment plants (WTPs) along with pumping stations and laying of pipelines for supply of water. Its revenues went up by 49% in FY23 from FY22 and its net profit went up by 17.8% in the same period. The company is in a capital intensive business and depends on competitive bidding to gain business. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=%E2%80%8BVa+Tech+Wabag">Va Tech Wabag</a>, a maker of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=waste+treatment">waste treatment</a> plants, rose smartly in Thursday's morning trade after the company announced it had won an order from an overseas client. 
 
Va Tech said it got a 1,500 crore rupee order from energy major<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=+Petronas"> Petronas</a> to construct an <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Effluent+Treatment+Plant">Effluent Treatment Plant</a> at its refinery in Malaysia. 
 
As a consequence, the stock rose 26.60 rupees, or 3.9 percent, to 708.55 rupees on the National Stock Exchange, where 1.26 lakh shares were traded compared with a 5-day average of 47,000 shares. 
 
Va Tech has seen its <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=market+capitalisation">market capitalisation</a> remain at 3,700 crore rupees over the past one year. The stock trades at 4.2 times its book value of 164 rupees. 
 
The company's sales have grown 15 percent compounded over the past five years and profit has surged 20 percent compounded over the same period.

In terms of sectors, the highest allocation is to companies focussed on infrastructure construction. This may be a bet on government's willingness to spend more of taxpayers' money to boost economic growth. The zero weightage given to telecom may reflect the battered prospects of the sector amidst intense competition, piled up debt, and the imminent pressure of having to bid for 5G spectrum when the auction opens up in the coming weeks. Some stocks like ICICI Bank and Axis Bank are expected to more than double their profits in the next couple but that is largely due to the low-base effect in the last financial, which was marred by rising bad loans and provisions. The return to normalcy may look better when compared to the performance last year. The three IT stocks -- HCL Tech, Mphasis, and Tech Mahindra-- are expected to give the highest return on equity, above 20% each, according to the estimates in the model portfolio of stocks. The company’s ₹321 crore initial public offer (IPO) was subscribed 76 times the shares on offer with aggressive bidding by qualified institutional buyers or QIBs. The stock listed at ₹282/share versus an issue price of ₹211/share on the NSE. It also received good interest from non-institutional and retail investors. The price band was fixed at ₹200-211 per equity share. As per market watchers, EMS shares before the listing were available at a premium of ₹90 in grey market, i.e. the expectation was a listing price of around ₹301 ( ₹211 + ₹90), or a 42% uptick to the IPO price band. About the company The company is a sewerage solution provider with water supply system, water and waste treatment plants, electrical transmission and distribution and more. It has identified Va Tech Wabag as its listed peer. It also executes road and allied projects, operates and maintains wastewater scheme projects (WWSPs) and water supply scheme projects (WSSPs) for government authorities. WWSPs include sewage treatment plants (STPs) along with sewage network schemes and common effluent treatment plants (CETPs). WSSPs include water treatment plants (WTPs) along with pumping stations and laying of pipelines for supply of water. Its revenues went up by 49% in FY23 from FY22 and its net profit went up by 17.8% in the same period. The company is in a capital intensive business and depends on competitive bidding to gain business. Any change in budgetary allocation to the sector can also adversely affect its business, it said in its RHP. The allotment of shares is expected to be finalised on September 15, and is likely to be listed on BSE, NSE on September 21.
