"We impose taxes like the Europeans do, to get services like sub-Saharan countries," he added. Taking part in the discussion, Debashish Samantaray of the BJD said the central government has given a raw deal to all eastern states like Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal in the Budget. He charged that in spite of Odisha giving 20 seats to the BJP, there was hardly anything for the state in the Union Budget. He noted that "regional aspiration should be addressed", and asked the central government to treat all states as equal. RJD's Sanjay Yadav attacked the government stating the Budget had nothing for the poor and marginalised and only catered to the rich and powerful. He noted that his party has been demanding special category status for Bihar for a very long time. Yadav said instead of dividing people on the basis of religion and caste, the government should work towards generating employment in the country. Medha Vishram Kulkarni of BJP and Rajani Ashokrao Patil of INC also participated in the debate. C V Shanmugham of AIADMK said allocation in the Budget does not significantly address the pressing needs of Tamil Nadu's infrastructure, health care, Social justice and education. The government has mentioned 76 projects in Tamil Nadu, but most of them are pre-existing ones getting a facelift. Moreover, in the Budget, no help in flood mitigation was provided, despite the state being prone to cyclones. There is no mention of a linkage of Kaveri and Godawari in the Budget, he said. Samirul Islam of AITC said this Budget is anti-people, anti-poor and anti-Bengal. It only satisfies Bihar and Andhra Pradesh's allies and is to save the government. "The Budget has deprived Bengal," he said. It has also ignored the people, especially the unorganised sector. 83 per cent of India's workforce is employed by unorganised sectors and failed to announce a comprehensive scheme for them and migrant workers, he said. M Mohamed Abdulla of the DMK said the Budget has provoked a constructive debate and disappointment in Tamil Nadu, a state known for its economic contributions. Tamil Nadu expected support and recognition in the budgetary allocations, but received nothing. The government is supposed to represent the people of the country as a whole. However, it is very unfortunate and unfair to see unequal distribution to the state governments, especially for the non-BJP ruled states like Tamil Nadu which provides the highest tax for the government, he said.

Union Finance Minister <keyword id="19916618" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nirmala-Sitharaman" source="keywords">Nirmala Sitharaman</keyword> made major announcements for <keyword id="19903647" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bihar" source="keywords">Bihar</keyword> and <keyword id="19896313" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Andhra-Pradesh" source="keywords">Andhra Pradesh</keyword> on Tuesday, including a boost in <keyword id="19916864" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="infrastructure" source="keywords">infrastructure</keyword> and special financial support. The announcement covers human resource development, infrastructure and the generation of economic opportunities to make the eastern region of the country covering Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Andhra pradesh an engine to attain Viksit Bharat. In her Budget speech in Parliament, Nirmala Sitharaman said, "On the Amritsar-Kolkata industrial corridor we will support the development of an industrial nod at Gaya in Bihar. We will also support the construction of road connectivity projects namely Patna-Purnia Expressway, Buxar-Bagalpur Expressway, Bodhgaya-Rajgir-Vaishali-Darbanga and an additional two-lane bridge over river Ganga at Buxar at a total cost of Rs 26,000 cr." "Power projects, including setting up of a new 2400 megawatt power plant at Pirpainti, will be taken up at a cost of Rs 21400 crore," she added. The Finance Minister said that new airports, medical colleges and sports infrastructure in Bihar will be constructed. An additional allocation to support capital investments will be provided, she said. She emphasised that the requests of the Bihar government for external assistance from multi-lateral development banks will be expedited. The FM also announce an allocation of Rs 11500 crore or flood control measures in Bihar. Funds have also been provided for developing the Temple corridors in the iconic temples in NIhar. The Kashi Model will be implemented in Bodh Gaya. Special funds have also been provided for the Rajgir Jain Temple site. Andhra Pradesh also benefited from the <keyword id="19908389" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Union-Budget" source="keywords">Union Budget</keyword> 2024-25 as the Finance Minister announced special financial support to the state, recognising the state's need for capital. "Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act- Our govt has made efforts to fulfil the commitments in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Recognising the state's need for capital, we will facilitate special financial support through multilateral agencies," Sitharaman said. "In the current FY, Rs 15,000 crore will be arranged with additional amounts in future years," she added. The Finance Minister is presenting the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her seventh consecutive one during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. The budget session of Parliament began on July 22 and, according to schedule, will end on August 12. Some dress up in colourful Haryanvi attire, some choose Salwar Kameez but every woman gets a chance to take the centre stage and dance to her favourite folk song. Roshni Devi Bishnoi regularly shares this whole experience on YouTube. Bishnoi started her own channel right before the pandemic after her son encouraged her to do it. Now it has become an integral part of her life “If I ever have other commitments to attend to, I get really worried. We have fun at the park, it has become a big part of my life and I don’t like missing it. I wanted to share this experience with everyone through YouTube,” Bishnoi shares with Business Insider India. While she turned to YouTube just for fun, it was in 2021 that she found out that creators can even earn through YouTube. “I had no idea that our channel would take off. My son told me earlier last year that my channel is monetised. Since then, I have been using this money to give back to society and to arrange better facilities for women who gather at the park to celebrate our culture,” says Bishnoi. Bishnoi lives with her two sons and husband in Hisar in a four-storey house. Now, through YouTube, Bishnoi aims to make a bigger name for herself, build her own identity and earn enough money to give back to society. Her YouTube channel has 1.47 lakh subscribers. “I would urge all women and everyone in India to come forward and share their talent with the world through YouTube. Panwar’s ‘52 Gaj Ka Daman’ song has crossed one billion views on YouTube and it also managed to be the number one song on YouTube global charts for 12 consecutive weeks. “I was 16 when I started singing and where I come from, people had no clue that becoming a YouTuber or singer is a career option today. My brother <keyword id="14975390" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="vicky-panwar" source="Orion">Vicky Panwar</keyword> played a big role in my musical journey. In fact, my entire family was supportive of my career in music. My viral song 52 Gaj Ka Daman has even caught people’s attention outside of India,” shares Panwar with Business Insider India. Panwar has recorded 200 songs so far with no training. She is now using the money she has earned from YouTube to find herself a good tutor. “Social media plays a big role in bringing regional talent to the forefront and I have gained a huge fan following due to YouTube,” says Panwar. They started their YouTube channel to preserve and celebrate their culture and Naga folk music. The sisters, who have been performing since their childhood, have taken the stage across the world including South Korea, China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Thailand. Tetseo sisters Mütsevelü (Mercy), Azine (Azi), Kuvelü (Kuku) and Alüne (Lulu) have been celebrating life and spreading happiness through the singing of folk songs in the Chokri Naga dialect. Their music transcends borders and pays an ode to their culture. “A lot of our fans are people who do not understand and do not speak Chokri at all, which clearly tells us that music really has no language barriers. It's all about the connection that you make with the melody, the vibes and the emotions that are captured in the songs,” shares Kuku with Business Insider India. Tetseo sisters’ O Rhosi song has about 2.5 million views on YouTube. Sharing why the sisters started their own YouTube channel, Mercy says, “When we started getting introduced to the Internet, and it became so accessible in the country, we used to watch a lot of YouTube videos about our favourite stars and our favourite musicians. Eventually, we realised that we could also put our own music on YouTube and we also felt that that was a great platform for us to be able to reach out to more audiences.” The sisters wish to make music accessible to everyone through their social media platforms and give people the opportunity to learn more about the Naga culture that’s at the heart of their music.
