Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is hiring more than 3,000 people for upper division clerk, stenographers and more across India

The Department of Personnel and Training (<keyword id="82842" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="DoPT">DoPT</keyword>) has put an end to the clerk era and has come up with a new nomenclature. 
 Designations like <keyword id="893904" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lower-Division-Clerk">Lower Division Clerk</keyword> (LDC) and <keyword id="225253" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="upper-division-clerk">Upper Division Clerk</keyword> (UDC) in central government's employee hierarchy have been replaced as Senior Secretariat Assistant and Junior Secretariat Assistant, respectively. 
 
Also, the Assistant post under Central Secretariat Service (CSS) has been renamed as Assistant Section Officer. 
 
Earlier in March, the DoPT had decided to replace the 'class' categorisation for specifying the seniority of its employees with new alphabetical groupings. 
 
The Class-III (Group C) employees had expressed concern that they were taunted as 'third-class' employees due to the categorisation. 
 
The Class-I classification is for gazetted officers while Class-II refers to mainly the non-gazetted officers, though there are some gazetted officers in this category too.

<keyword id="6358815" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tech" source="Orion">Tech</keyword> giant <keyword id="10387" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="microsoft" source="Orion">Microsoft</keyword> on Wednesday partnered with the <keyword id="3029683" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="union-ministry-of-skill-development" source="Orion">Union Ministry of Skill Development</keyword> and Entrepreneurship (<keyword id="2952126" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="msde" source="Orion">MSDE</keyword>), and Capacity Building Commission (CBC) to enhance the functional computer literacy of nearly 2.5 million civil servants of the <keyword id="6378065" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="central" source="Orion">Central</keyword> government. The project -- Capacity Building by MSDE in Microsoft Digital Productivity Skills -- will digitally empower them to provide efficient and effective citizen-centric services to the vulnerable and underprivileged sections of society. "Through this programme, we are aiming to empower central government employees on key digital skills and amplify the vision of Digital India," Ashutosh Chadha, <keyword id="231267" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="group-head" source="Orion">Group Head</keyword> and Director, Government Affairs, Microsoft India "This initiative will not only drive more productivity but will also enable ease of doing business with more digital solutions," Chadha added. Within the project, the training will include job roles such as Section Officers, Assistant Section Officers, Clerks, Upper Division Clerks, Lower Division Clerks, Under Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and equivalent officers at senior, junior and supporting levels in the central government entities. CBC has undertaken the capacity-building plans for the ministries of Defence, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Expenditure, Finance, Social Justice, Civil Aviation, Ports and Shipping, and Labour. As part of the collaboration, Microsoft will develop an online, self-paced learning course on Microsoft Office 365 digital productivity suite offerings for MSDE, enabling MSDE to provide digital skills training to the officials in central government ministries and departments. The courses will be created under two categories -- Beginners and Advanced courses of 12 hours duration each -- and the learners would be enabled with access to Advanced course after receiving the certificate of completion in the Beginners course. "Our aim is to develop citizen-friendly and business-friendly policies. Technology has become an integral part of our everyday lives, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now an essential component of our work life," <keyword id="234155" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rajesh-aggarwal" source="Orion">Rajesh Aggarwal</keyword>, Secretary, MSDE, said in a statement. Republican Sen. Mike Lee faces GOP opposition in reelection bid over his pivot from Trump critic to ally

The <keyword id="432663" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Corporate-espionage">corporate espionage</keyword> case, which was unearthed a month back, has revealed a huge conspiracy theory undermining at the ministry level. In a major crackdown by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), The Economic Times reports that two employees of the Ministry of Finance along with a Mumbai-based consultant have been held for their alleged involvement in illegally obtaining documents on foreign investment policies and passing them on to at least eight companies. 
 
A CBI spokesperson has informed The Economic Times, the investigating agency has conducted raids at six places in Delhi and two places in Mumbai on Thursday. These raids were carried out as part of an investigation into the "leakage and sale of confidential government documents relating to foreign investments in the Ministries of Finance and Commerce."Khemchand Gandhi, a chartered accountant-cum consultant, who has been detained by the police, used to sold documents and files to corporates. 
 
The ET report has confirmed that Gandhi has also been detained by the CBI after a bunch of documents sent to him was intercepted by the agency. The CBI had recovered Rs 60 lakh in cash from his residence and office along with a trove of documents. 
 <keyword id="239515" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ashok-Kumar-Singh">Ashok Kumar Singh</keyword>, under secretary in the Department of Disinvestment in Finance Ministry, and Lala Ram Sharma, a section officer in the Department of Economic Affairs in Ministry of Finance, are also among those who have been detained. 
 
The residence of Daljeet Singh, an upper division clerk in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in the commerce ministry, was raided by the CBI but Singh was not detained, the ET reported. 
 Earlier, <keyword id="6358992" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Delhi-Police">Delhi Police</keyword> had arrested two junior oil ministry officials and three other middlemen for allegedly leaking classified government documents to energy companies. 
 
They also held two consultants Santanu Saikia and Prayas Jain along with five executives from top energy companies, who were identified as RIL’s Shailesh Saxena, Vinay Kumar from Essar, KK Naik from Cairn, Subhash Chandra from Jubilant Energy and Rishi Anand from ADAG Reliance. Sources told the ET that Delhi Police has been subsequently questioning senior officials of these corporate.
