For Class 12, the number of candidates was 24,52,830 (24.52 lakh) -- 13,41,356 (13.41 lakh) boys and 11,11,474 (11.11 lakh) girls, Dev said. The pass percentage was 77.78 for boys and 88.42 for girls.

"A total of 24,068 students have scored above 95 per cent marks while 1,16,145 students have scored above 90 per cent," an official said. More than 1.22 lakh candidates have been placed in 'compartment'. The number this year is slightly less than that of last year, the officials said. This time, more than 16.21 lakh candidates appeared for the exam which was conducted at 7,126 centres. CBSE Class 12 results: 87.98% students pass exams, girls outshine boys

Over 65 lakh students did not pass <keyword id="19951608" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="class-10" source="keywords">class 10</keyword> and 12 <keyword id="19954615" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="keywords">board exams</keyword> across the country last year with the failure rate being higher in <keyword id="22866974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="state-boards" source="keywords">state boards</keyword> than the central board, according to Ministry of Education (<keyword id="20349630" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="MoE" source="keywords">MoE</keyword>) officials. An analysis of class 10 and 12 results of 59 school boards, including 56 state boards and three national boards, revealed that more girls appeared in class 12 exam from government-managed schools but it is opposite in private schools and government-aided schools. "Around 33.5 lakh students of class 10 are not reaching next grade. While 5.5 lakh candidates did not appear, 28 lakh failed. This is one of the cause for low retention rate and Gross Enrolment Ration (GER) at higher secondary level," a senior MoE official said. Similarly, around 32.4 lakh class 12 students did not complete the grade. While 5.2 lakh did not appear, 27.2 lakh failed. In class 10, the student failure rate in central board stood at 6 per cent while that of state boards was much higher at 16 per cent. In class 12, the failure rate at central board is 12 per cent while that of state boards is 18 per cent. The ministry officials noted that the open school performance was poor in both the classes. The highest number of student failure in class 10 was in Madhya Pradesh board followed by Bihar and UP. While in class 12, the highest student failure was reported from Uttar Pradesh followed by Madhya Pradesh. "Overall performance of students in 2023 declined in comparison with previous year. This could be due to larger syllabus for examination," the official said. More girls appeared for class 10 and 12 board exams from government schools than boys. "This may reflect gender bias while spending on education by parents. However, girls dominates in pass performance across government, aided and private schools," the official said. Over 65 lakh students failed class 10, 12 exams in 2023; higher failure rate in state boards: MoE

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class X results on Monday. The overall <keyword id="20123359" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pass-percentage" source="keywords">pass percentage</keyword> of 93.60 per cent was recorded. Passing percentage has increased by 0.48 per cent since last year. 25724 schools gave the CBSE class X examinations at 7603 centres. The Trivandrum region registered the highest pass percentage at 99.75 per cent whereas the lowest has been recorded at Guwahati which stood at 77.94 per cent. In the overall Delhi region, a 98.61 per cent pass percentage was recorded. 94.75 per cent of Girls passed the exam whereas 92.71 per cent of boys passed the exam with the Girls outshining boys by 2.04 per cent. Students who sat for the CBSE Class 10 board exams nationwide can view their mark sheets on the <keyword id="21637011" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CBSE-official-website" source="keywords">CBSE official website</keyword>, cbse.gov.in. The other official websites where CBSE 10th results can be checked are - cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.nic.in, digilocker.gov.in, results.gov.in. The results can also be checked on mobile apps- Digilocker and UMANG. In regards to the Class 10 exams, CBSE stated that Science, Mathematics, and Social Science were chosen by 22,62,692 students each. These exams took place over three days at 7612 examination centres, utilising 94,279 rooms, with the assistance of 1,88,558 Assistant Superintendents. CBSE class X examinations were held from February 15 to March 13, 2024. Approximately 39 lakh students appeared for Class 10 and 12 examinations. Students must score a minimum of 33 per cent marks to pass the CBSE class 10 and 12 exams. Looking at the past year's trends, in 2023, the CBSE results were announced on May 12. While in the year 2022, it was declared on July 22. Earlier, CBSE declared Class XII. 87.98 per cent of students passed the board exams. Passing percentage increased by 0.65 per cent since last year. 18417 schools gave the CBSE class XII examinations at 7126 centres. This year the overall pass percentage is 87.98 a 0.65 percent increase since 2023. The Trivandrum region registered the highest pass percentage at 99.91 per cent. CBSE Class 10 board exam results declared

Tamil Nadu Class 12 results declared: State records 94.03 pass per cent, Kanyakumari tops list

The <keyword id="6356155" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse" source="Orion">CBSE</keyword> on Friday declared the Class 12 results with 87.33 per cent of students clearing the exam, a dip of 5.38 per cent from last year. There will be no merit list to "avoid unhealthy competition", the board announced. The board has also decided to scrap awarding first, second and third divisions based on students' scores, officials said. "No merit list will be declared by the CBSE to avoid unhealthy competition among students. However, the board will issue merit certificates to 0.1 per cent of students who have scored the highest marks in the various subjects," a senior board official said. The pass percentage is higher than the 83.40 recorded in 2019 in the pre-Covid period, the official added. The pass percentage last year was 92.71. Girls continued to outshine boys, recording a six percentage point higher passing rate. Over 16.60 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examination. The Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.91 while the Prayagraj region reported the lowest at 78.05. Over 1.25 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category. In fact, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://classpass.com/blog/2023-classpass-look-back-report/">ClassPass said bookings</a> for Pilates classes were up 92% in 2023, making it the company's most popular workout of the year.I teach 20 group equipment classes weekly and see about 100 clients over seven days. When in doubt, stick to your usual breathing pattern.<h2 id="8abdde3d-fb63-4e88-b98b-099fefae44f3">Not wearing grip socks and proper clothing</h2><div type="image" title="Legs in Pilates springs, wearing black pants and pink socks with grips at the bottom." height="1255" width="1673" msid="112872021" hostid="261" sizebytes="77584"></div>Most studios require clients to wear socks with proper grips on the bottom for safety and hygiene purposes.Your feet may get slippery during movements requiring extra stability, so I recommend wearing them even if the studio doesn't mandate it.It's also important to avoid wearing loose-fitting clothing so the instructor can see your body and help you make the proper adjustments.Additionally, it's best to keep long hair in a bun so it doesn't get caught in the springs or other parts of the equipment.<h2 id="7b4fe171-dcfe-4838-9eae-4e540d2bd581">Not eating before class — or eating too much</h2>Taking a Pilates class on an <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-workout-snacks-before-and-after-exercise-according-to-olympian-2021-8">empty stomach</a> is a big no-no. However, you also don't want to feel too full before class since Pilates is a core-centered workout.I recommend eating something light an hour before class. We had a $12,000 budget, which included the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/cruise-packing-list-airtag-apple-bag-traveler-2024-2">cruise</a>, first-class airfare, tickets to an Ed Sheeran concert, and hotel stays. We had been saving for this trip for years. The upgrade cost $800 each. He was playing a set in Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. We snagged general admission tickets for around $116 each.We both love his song "Tenerife Sea." When we first met in college, we added <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/where-to-stay-in-canary-islands-best-hotels">Tenerife</a> — an island in Spain — to our bucket list. While a night's stay at The Edition costs around $670, we used 60,000 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/best-marriott-bonvoy-credit-cards">Marriott points</a> each night and didn't have to pay cash.We also spent a night at The Montcalm East Autograph in London for $350 and our last night at the Renaissance London Heathrow for $111 before flying back to the US.To attend Ed Sheeran's concert, we spent a night at Newcastle Marriott Hotel Metrocenter, which cost $160. When we returned to London, we spent a night at Bankside Autograph Collection, a luxury hotel near the River Thames. We initially booked an <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-rooms-windows-balconies-not-worth-it-frequent-cruiser-2024">interior cabin</a>, the cheapest room category, and ended up getting upgraded to an obstructed balcony room a few days before sailing. The upgrade ended up being free.Stops along the cruise included Spain's Canary Islands, including Tenerife, and Lisbon in Portugal. We spent our days exploring new countries, having seaside cocktails, and reconnecting after so much time apart.<div type="image" title="woman and man riding camels" height="4000" width="6000" msid="109116715" hostid="261" sizebytes="824812"></div>Cost of food and transportation: $2,055We went on a three-night dining package for $240. On board the cruise, we purchased two <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbean-icon-of-the-seas-cruise-ship-kitchen-tour-2024-2">specialty dining meals</a> and on Chef's Table experience for $574. In total, including what we spent on food in London, we spent around $1,170 on dining out, coffee, and drinks.Transportation took a big chunk of our budget. Ubers, taxis, and scooters cost a total of $528. We rented a car to get us to and from the concert venue for $186, with gas costing around $40. We also took the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/train-london-berlin-uk-germany-review-eurostar-travel-transport-europe-2023-7">train</a> to get around, and that amounted to $131.<div type="image" title="woman in front of cruise ship" height="1537" width="2305" msid="109116718" hostid="261" sizebytes="138440"></div>Miscellaneous costs: $2,000We spent $639 on <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/things-i-never-buy-on-a-cruise-frequent-traveler-2024-2">souvenirs, gifts, and shopping</a>. On board the cruise, excursions weren't free, so it cost us $214 for two excursions in the Canary Islands. Other expenses included internet on the cruise for $374 and roaming with T-Mobile for $103.We also flew my sister to Florida to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rover-side-hustle-pet-sitting-diversify-income-after-layoff-2023-5">watch the dogs</a> and provided her with a meal service for two weeks. That cost a total of $670.There was no skimping or budgeting for this trip. We had no regrets about the money we spent on this cruise vacation.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Real estate experts told BI that the office sector will experience a wave of distress in coming years.</li><li>Run-down, vacant offices could be sold in fire sales as owners cut their losses.</li></ul>A <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/commercial-real-estate-big-trouble-crash-bank-crisis-2024-2">seismic event is brewing in a corner of the commercial real estate market</a>, with many office buildings facing distress as they approach a wall of maturing debt and struggle against enduring work-from-home trends.Those factors — which have left some of the worst office buildings nearly deserted — are about to spark a handful of fire sales, potentially kicking off a wave of office-to-apartment conversions that will add more housing supply to the pipeline, real estate pros said.Richard Barkham, the chief global economist of commercial real estate investment firm CBRE, says he sees an upheaval of Class B office buildings — a segment of office properties that struggle to attract tenants, mainly due to being older and in need of renovation.These second-tier properties have vacancy rates as high as 80%, he said, predicting that many could be ripped down or transformed over the next decade."The banks are going to have to dispose of that real estate," Barkham told Business Insider in an interview. "So we will see. I think over the next — and this will pay out over two to three years — I think we'll see a wave of offices going back to banks, and I say, they'll be firesold and either demolished or converted."That chain reaction already looks to be in the works, with <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/commercial-real-estate-debt-crisis-credit-crunch-bank-loans-default-2023-8">banks quietly shedding</a> troubled office properties from their balance sheets and <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-nyc-office-buildings-towers-became-housing-2023-9">conversions</a> starting to trickle into the mix.The <a target="_blank" href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CREACBW027SBOG">total amount of commercial real estate loans</a> held by commercial banks declined to $2.9 trillion, down from a peak of $3 trillion earlier this year.Large banks have been pulling back on lending to the sector, with 74% saying they tightened <a target="_blank" href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/COMREPUSQ159N">standards for nonresidential commercial real estate loans</a> in the second quarter of 2024, Federal Reserve data shows.Meanwhile, the number of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.rentcafe.com/blog/rental-market/adaptive-reuse-office-to-apartments-2024/#:~:text=From%20Boardrooms%20to%20Bedrooms%3A%20A,Conversions%20Expected%20in%20Major%20Cities&amp;text=From%202021%20to%202024%2C%20the,increased%20from%2012%2C100%20to%2055%2C300.">office spaces scheduled to be converted into apartments</a> rose to 55,000 in 2024 — the highest number of office-to-apartment conversions recorded in four years, and a 357% increase from levels recorded in 2021, according to Yardi Matrix data cited by RentCafe.John Vavas, a real estate finance attorney at Polsinelli who works with commercial real estate lenders, has worked on a handful of office-to-residential conversion deals this year. He had never worked on that kind of deal prior to the pandemic, he said. <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/insights/economy/spotlight/office-sector-in-commercial-real-estate-lending.html">Offices account for around 20%</a> of the square footage of all CRE properties, and the worst-performing buildings account for around 10% of the total office supply, Barkham estimated.There's around <a target="_blank" href="https://www.yardimatrix.com/Publications/Download/File/6080-MatrixOfficeNationalReport-August2024?eml=jsor%40businessinsider.com&amp;frm=4&amp;key=86DF904366A655EFD483DCB636266BC4922525FA">1.2 billion square feet worth of office space</a> that could be spun into residential space, Yardi said in a separate report.A CBRE analysis of planned, ongoing, and completed office-to-residential conversions since 2016 estimates that 1.38 billion square feet worth of office space could be converted. Barkham said the evolution could take around a decade to fully take place in cities.To be sure, these kinds of conversions are costly and difficult. In New York, architects have <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-nyc-office-buildings-towers-became-housing-2023-9">cut holes in skyscrapers to rearrange square footage</a>, and Silverstein Properties, one of New York's largest commercial landlords, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/a-new-york-developer-is-spending-15-billion-to-turn-offices-to-apartments-2022-12">is spending $1.5 billion</a> to convert some of its office buildings. Still, for landlords facing a glut of unwanted space, it could be worth it to try to covert it. "There's a solid base of really badly performing offices that's going to go bust over the course of 2025," Barkham added. "It's quite clear that we don't need as much office space in the United States as we did."<h2 id="5bc9d833-39a3-40c9-a071-6c0d943a3acd">The office market's new era</h2>While most high-quality buildings are being filled, demand for offices has generally sagged since the pandemic, when remote work became much more widespread. The <a target="_blank" href="https://www.commercialedge.com/blog/national-office-report/#:~:text=The%20national%20average%20full%2Dservice,Diego's%20by%20310%20basis%20points.">US office vacancy rate was 19.4%</a> in August, according to the data provider CommercialEdge, up 200 basis points from the prior year.<a target="_blank" href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/DRCRELEXFACBS">Late payments on commercial real estate loans</a> have climbed to 1.42% in the second quarter, the highest rate in nearly 10 years. <a target="_blank" href="https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/COMREPUSQ159N#0">Commercial real estate prices</a>, meanwhile, dropped another 9% year-over-year in the first quarter, Fed data shows.But real estate investors have warmed up to the sector over the past six months, Vavas says, thanks partly to buildings being sold at steep discounts and banks attempting to dump loans from their balance sheets. He recalls a deal he worked on recently, where the property owner priced the building at a 20%-30% discount."The people who owned it, the building was heavily vacant and they just wanted to, I think, cut their losses," he said.Many defunct offices are expected to be converted into residential properties given the shortage of housing in the US, Vavas says. The office-to-residential conversion is the most common type of conversion project, according to Yardi data, accounting for 38% of all conversions in the works."The idea of people being in the office three days a week versus five days a week was the exception, not the standard. And now it's the opposite," Vavas said. "If you do that across a company, by definition, your demand is going to drop. And when it drops as a result of this post-pandemic thought of being back in the office, then I think you have to start to look at, well, I have this space. What are the needs for the community, for the location? And in New York, it just happens to be residential."Washington DC, New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles have recorded the most office-to-apartment conversion starts this year, with a combined 19,462 conversions in the pipeline, Yardi data shows.Commutes will likely be shorter on average, and cities with many vacant offices could see more stores, restaurants, and theaters creep into the mix, Barkham says. He notes, though, that changes won't happen overnight."You will see vacant buildings, and you will see see-through offices for some considerable time," Barkham said.

The Board officials have announced the detailed timetable of both high school and intermediate <keyword id="32862" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="Orion">board exams</keyword> in Prayagraj. "As per the timetable, the exams for high school would be completed in 12 working days while that of intermediate would be completed in 15 working days," said UP Board chairman and director (secondary education) <keyword id="1080922" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vinay-Kumar-Pandey" source="Orion">Vinay Kumar Pandey</keyword>. Pandey further said that the examination schedule has also been made available on the official website of the board. Last year, the Board had not conducted the high school and intermediate examination owing to the pandemic. This year the examinations will be in the offline mode.
