In a note sent to employees on an internal communication channel, <keyword id="6361408" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="goyal" source="Orion">Goyal</keyword> said that they are now at a stage of life where "we are maturing from running (more or less) a single business, to now running multiple large companies". "Now that the Zomato-Blinkit deal is approved, we have three companies -- Zomato, Blinkit and Hyperpure -- in the order of business size/impact," Goyal said in the note seen by IANS. "We are transitioning from a company where I was the CEO to a place where we will have multiple CEOs running each of our businesses (e.g. Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure, Feeding India), all acting as peers to each other, and working as a super-team with each other towards building a single large and seamless organisation," he elaborated. The company is going to call this larger organisation "Eternal", at a time when Zomato's stock gets hammered on Dalal Street (it was hovering around Rs 46 on Monday and has nosedived around 69 per cent this year). Goyal said that 'Eternal' will have multiple companies. "It already has Zomato (delivery+dining out), Blinkit, Hyperpure, and Feeding India. Eternal will remain an internal name for now," he said. The new branding has been acknowledged by the company employees, with the "Eternal" logo now being placed at the company's premises and merchandise like t-shirts. Late last month, the online food delivery platform Zomato allotted nearly 4.66 crore shares to its employees from its employee stock option plan (ESOP) pool at the face value of Rs 1. The board of directors approved the allotment of 4,65,51,600 equity shares to employees upon exercise of vested stock options, according to its filing with the stock exchanges. ZEE Entertainment restructures organisation; ropes in Rahul Johari as President - Business, South Asia

Various committees organising <keyword id="10095056" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="huge-ramlila-celebrations">huge Ramlila celebrations</keyword> across Delhi, including at Red Fort grounds, have decided to "not hold the event" this year as the situation is not feasible and there are "too many restrictions" in the fresh guidelines issued for holding events, an official of their umbrella body said on Monday. Representatives of various Ramlila committees also said the situation due to COVID-19 anyway means, holding large-scale gathering will not be a very suitable decision keeping public safety in mind. "We begin our preparations at least two months in advance. Dusshera is on October 25 and DDMA authorities issued fresh guidelines yesterday. Earlier, they couldn't do due to rising number of cases. "But, it is not possible to make arrangements at the last moment, so we have decided to not hold it this year," said Arjun Kumar of Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, which has been organising the event at the Red Fort front lawns for over 40 years. Kumar, also the general secretary of <keyword id="10095057" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-shri-ramlila-mahasangh">Delhi Shri Ramlila Mahasangh</keyword>, which is an umbrella body of various Ramlila organising committees in Delhi, said, "Today, we had a talk with representatives of other major organising committees, and we all have decided not to hold the events this year as situation is neither conducive nor feasible to execute the plan now". He claimed that there are about 800 big and small organising committees in Delhi and even the "smaller ones have decided against it". <keyword id="9366533" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-delhi-disaster-management-authority">The Delhi Disaster Management Authority</keyword> on Sunday issued fresh set of guidelines, including strict adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols, for holding congregations and large events ahead of Durga Puja and Ramlila celebrations. In an order, Delhi Chief Secretary and Chairman of DDMA's state executive committee Vijay Dev said all event organisers will have to obtain requisite permission from concerned district magistrates for organising the events besides obtaining permission from other authorities as per applicable laws and rules. It may be noted that the restriction on gatherings and large congregations imposed by DDMA order on September 30, stands withdrawn to the extent of allowing gatherings and congregations for celebration of upcoming festivals till October 31 only, said the order. Ravi Jain of <keyword id="5049321" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shri-Dharmik-Ramlila-Committee">Shri Dharmik Ramlila Committee</keyword>, which was established in 1924, said, new guidelines have been issued "at the last moment" and that too with too much restrictions. "If anyone is found standing or sitting, then it won't be allowed. How do we know, what people will do, we can only ask then to follow the guidelines. Also, permissions needed at so many levels, from police to MCD, it is not feasible to hold Ramlila now, in such a short period of time," he said. Lav Kush Ramlila Committee's Kumar said organisers have to get "temporary land allotment" from the ASI Delhi Circle. "Our application is still pending, and now more restrictions. Plus, fairs, 'melas', food stalls and swings are not allowed. It is just not feasible for us to hold it," he added. He said after the ASI nod, tents are pitched two months before, and 'bhoomipujan' happens 30 days before, neither of that has happened and it's already mid-October. "Also, half of our artistes come from Mumbai, we have to make arrangements for their stay and travel. The national capital recorded 29 COVID-19 fatalities on Sunday, taking the death toll to 5,769 while 2,780 fresh cases took the infection tally to over 3.09 lakh, authorities said. On Saturday, 48 deaths were recorded. On September 29 as well, 48 fatalities were reported in the city, the highest number of deaths recorded in a day since July 16, when Delhi saw 58 fatalities. Earlier in September, some of the Ramlila committees in the national capital had begun preparations for the 10-day celebrations ahead of the Dussehra festival, but were unsure whether the government would allow the performances, which draw a large crowd, year after year. They had, however, expressed concern that it will be difficult to maintain social distancing among actors and will be cumbersome for them to act wearing masks. What's in a name? A lot!

In a bid to kick-start advanced defence-related aerospace research and development in India’s top educational institutes, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=DRDO">Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)</a> would be spending around Rs 400 crore. 
 According to Economic Times, the <keyword id="6355142" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="DRDO">DRDO</keyword> will splurge the amount to get the program started in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=IIT+Bombay">IIT Bombay</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=IIT+Madras">IIT Madras</a>. 
 
This is one of its kind partnerships between DRDO and IITs has been signed under the umbrella of PM Modi’s<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Make+in+India"> ‘Make in India’ </a>program. According to top-level sources aware of the development, a tripartite MoU, has been signed recently between the DRDO and the two IITs, but but is yet to get an approval from the <keyword id="6369097" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Defence">Ministry of Defence</keyword>. 
 The approval is expected to come in a couple of months after which DRDO will provide Rs 180 crore each to <keyword id="6356755" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Madras">IIT Madras</keyword> and <keyword id="61708" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIT-Bombay">IIT Bombay</keyword> for research. The other chunk of the funding-- Rs 50-60 crore- will go for the infrastructure development of IIT Bombay as it’ll be the administrative headquarter for the new center for Propulsion Technology. 
 
IIT Madras’s project in-charge and professor of aerospace engineering there, SR Chakravarthy has said, "This is one of the biggest investments by the government into academic research and cuts to the root of the Make in India campaign." 
 As per the fresh media reports, the organization initiated a renovation program under the leadership of Defence Minister <keyword id="6363133" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Manohar-Parrikar">Manohar Parrikar</keyword> and DRDO chief which undergone a lot many hitches from CAG. 
 <keyword id="2978195" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Krishnan-Balasubramaniam">Krishnan Balasubramaniam</keyword>, dean of industrial research at IIT Madras has said that while DRDO will be the primary funding agency now, other industries could join in later. 
 
Going forward, DRDO could identify private partners from the industry who can work with research faculty at IIT on technology development. While IIT Madras and IIT Bombay will be the main nodal centers, three other IITs — Kharagpur, Guwahati and Bhubaneshwar, along with NIT Surat will be associates in the research to be undertaken. 
 
Three-four small groups of professors from these associate institutes will pick up projects and work with IIT Madras and Bombay faculty members. The ideation for the new Centre for Propulsion Technology has been going on for the past year and a half, mostly taking final shape in forms of approvals early this year, said Chakravarthy. 
 
At IIT Madras, this centre has 45 faculties across eight departments participating in the project, while at IIT Bombay, 25 faculties across departments will participate in the high-end aerospace technology research being conducted for the first time in the country. 
 
"This kind of a research centre will enable us to get the design basis. We can design very high end machinery for which design basis will not be available anywhere else in the world," said Chakravarthy. 
 
Four streams have been identified for research including hypersonics which will focus towards technology for developing advanced version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. The missile travels at the speed of Mach 2.8 to 3.0. IIT is targeting BrahMos version that could travel at speed of Mach 6.5 and versions that could travel at Mach 12 and Mach 13.

<ul><li>The Indian government has earmarked 68% of its procurement budget for buying from domestic players.</li><li>It’s also set aside 25% of its budget in defence research and development (R&amp;D) for collaborating with the private industry.</li><li>A new “independent, umbrella” body will be set up for private players to test new technology and get certified.</li></ul>The Indian government and its push for self-reliance in defence isn’t taking a back seat this year. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that an even bigger portion of the budget will be set aside to specifically procure new equipment from domestic players. <div type="ExtQuote" text="68% of the capital procurement budget will be earmarked for the domestic industry in 2022-23 — up from 58% last year." auname="Nirmala Sitharaman"></div> Moreover, the government will be opening up defence research and development (R&amp;D) to the larger industry for their contribution — this includes big wig companies, startups and academica. Around 25% of the defence R&amp;D budget will be earmarked for collaboration. Critics have pointed out that while India has a relatively large budget — it spends nearly 2% of its gross domestic product (GDP) on defence and has the third-largest defence spend in the world — it lags behind others when it comes to modernisation. The private industry will also be encouraged to design and develop military platforms and equipment in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and other organisations through the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) model. “An independent umbrella body will be set up for meeting wide ranging testing and certification requirements,” explained Sitharaman on how the collaboration will play out. She highlighted technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), geospatial systems, drones, semiconductors and its ecosystem, space economy, genomics and pharmaceutical, and clean mobility systems as areas of focus. “[They] have immense potential to assist sustainable development at scale and modernise the country,” said Sitharaman.
