The electric bike is targeted at the electric performance bikes segment and will take on the premium Ultraviolette F77 electric bike. The <keyword id="8748579" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="orxa-mantis" source="Orion">Orxa Mantis</keyword>, the first electric bike from the company also offers an industry first – it is claimed to be equipped with India’s first liquid-cooled electric motor. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Orxa Mantis price and availability" comment="subhead" text="Orxa Mantis price and availability"><keyword id="19577106" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Orxa-Mantis-price" source="Orion">Orxa Mantis price</keyword> and availability</cmsannotation> The Orxa Mantis has been priced at ₹3.6 lakh ex-showroom, putting it just below the Ultraviolette F77 base variant which is priced at ₹3.8 lakh ex-showroom. The Mantis will be available in Bengaluru starting from April 2024, followed by other cities. The company has started accepting bookings for the bike on its website. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Orxa Mantis features" comment="subhead" text="Orxa Mantis features">Orxa Mantis features</cmsannotation> The Orxa Mantis comes with a sporty design, just like the Ultraviolette F77. It is offered in two colour options – Urban Black and Jungle Grey. The Mantis is equipped with a mid-mounted liquid-cooled BLDC motor that is capable of producing 28 hp of power and 93 Nm of peak torque. The F77 on the other hand offers 36.2 hp of power and 85 Nm of peak torque. In terms of performance, the Mantis offers a top speed of 135 km per hour and goes from 0 to 100 km per hour in 8.9 seconds. The F77 is faster with a top speed of 140 km per hour and goes from 0 to 100 in 8.3 seconds. One of the most important things in any electric bike is its battery pack. The Mantis is equipped with an 8.9 kWh battery pack, which is claimed to offer a range of 221 km on a single charge. The F77 with its 7.1kWh is claimed to offer 206 km of range on a single charge. The Mantis can be charged from 0 to 80% in 5 hours using the standard 1.3kW charger which is offered with the bike. You can also purchase the 3.3kW charger, which powers the bike from 0 to 80% in 2.5 hours. While the company has not announced the price of the 3.3kW charger yet, it should cost around ₹15,000 to ₹20,000. Coming to features, the Orxa Mantis features a 5-inch TFT display with the company’s own Linux-based OS. Orxa Mantis heats up the performance electric bike competition at ₹3.6 lakh, takes on the Ultraviolette F77

<ul><li><keyword id="10131833" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ultraviolette" source="Orion">Ultraviolette</keyword> has raised ₹112.5 crore (approximately $15 million) from TVS and Zoho Corporation, as per regulatory filings.</li><li>The company will use the latest Series C fund to launch its F77 high-performance electric motorcycle.</li><li>TVS had first invested in Ultraviolette back in 2017 and has been increasing its shareholding in the company since then.</li></ul>Indian multinational automotive company TVS and software-as-a-services (SaaS) giant Zoho Corp have announced their investment in electric two wheeler company <keyword id="6792726" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ultraviolette-automotive" source="Orion">Ultraviolette Automotive</keyword>. According to Ministry of Corporate Affairs filings, Ultraviolette has raised ₹112.5 crore (approximately $15 million) from TVS and Zoho Corporation. Its valuation is estimated to be $200 million as per Inc42. The company has not officially confirmed the financial details of this transaction. The company will use the latest Series C fund to launch its F77 high-performance electric motorcycle, which is currently in the final stages of testing. It expects to launch the electric vehicle (EV) in the first half of 2022. The Bengaluru-based startup had first showcased the electric motorcycle in November 2019 and it has received over 50,000 booking requests so far. ‘’What impressed me most about Ultraviolette is their approach towards building the EV experience in the country -- one that is focused on high performance, disruptive design and technology, and superior user experience, all built and developed right here in India. There is no doubt that the future of mobility is electric, and innovation has to be at the forefront of product disruption,” Zoho Corporation’s founder and chief executive (CEO) Sridhar Vembu said. Ultraviolette Automotive was founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan. It develops sustainable mobility and energy infrastructure. The company has raised over $20 million to date from marquee investors like Speciale Invests, GoFrugal’s Kumar Vembu. TVS had first invested in Ultraviolette back in 2017 and has been increasing its shareholding in the company since then. TVS Motor, Zoho invest in Ultraviolette ahead of its F77 electric motorcycle launch

TVS Motor gains on report of tie-up with BMW to manufacture EVs

The auto major had reported a net profit of Rs 2,623.6 crore in the year-ago period, Maruti Suzuki India said in a regulatory filing. "For the first time, the company surpassed annual total sales milestone of 2 million units in FY24. The company continued to be the top exporter for the third consecutive year, now contributing 41.8 per cent of total passenger vehicle exports from India," the company stated. Maruti Suzuki shares were trading at Rs 12,687.05 apiece at the day's close, down 1.7 per cent from its previous close on the BSE. Maruti Suzuki Q4 net profit rises 47.8% to ₹3,877.8 crore

However, positive sentiment in the domestic equity markets and retreating crude oil prices in international markets supported the Indian currency at lower level, forex traders said. At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened weak at 83.39 against the greenback and then slipped further to 83.43, registering a loss of 5 paise compared to its previous closing level. On Friday, the rupee had declined 10 paise to close at 83.38 against the US dollar. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, increased 0.05 per cent to 105.86. Analysts attributed the strengthening dollar to the positive global trends amid firm growth in the world's largest economy, which renewed hope for a reduction in the interest rate by the US Federal Reserve. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, declined 0.92 per cent to USD 88.68 per barrel. In the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 271.80 points or 0.37 per cent higher at 74,001.96. The broader NSE Nifty advanced 72.45 points or 0.32 per cent to 22,492.40. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets on Friday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 3,408.88 crore, according to exchange data. Rupee declines 5 paise to 83.43 against US dollar in early trade

The <keyword id="19895345" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Supreme Court" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Supreme Court">Supreme Court</keyword> on Monday refused to entertain a plea seeking postponement of certain papers of the <keyword id="21466151" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chartered-Accountancy" source="keywords">Chartered Accountancy</keyword> (CA) exams scheduled for May on account of the Lok Sabha polls. A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said the <keyword id="20230355" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Institute-of-Chartered-Accountants-of-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Institute of Chartered Accountants of India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Institute of Chartered Accountants of India">Institute of Chartered Accountants of India</keyword> (<keyword id="6364696" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="icai" source="Orion">ICAI</keyword>) has not fixed the examination on election dates. It noted that the general elections to the Lok Sabha are to be held on May 7 and 13 and no exam has been scheduled for May 6 and May 12. Altering the examination date would disrupt the extensive arrangements already in place for the conduct of the examination and it could result in "grave injustice for some students", it said. The scheduling of exams pertains to "policy decisions", it said while refusing to entertain the PIL. "But weighing the importance of the right to vote we have examined the position of candidates who shall be appearing for exams and would also need to vote. 591 centres are there and no exams on polling dates. At this stage when 4 lakh plus students have enrolled, any relief at this stage would result in grave prejudice," the CJI said. The Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams are scheduled to start from May 2 and continue till May 17. The plea sought that the exams scheduled for May 8 and May 14 be postponed to other dates as elections are going to be held in some states on May 7 and May 13. The Delhi High Court, on April 8, has refused to postpone the <keyword id="21424300" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CA-exams" source="keywords">CA exams</keyword> while dealing with another plea. The high court had said it was surprised that such a request was made before it and termed the petition as "bereft of substance". The counsel representing the ICAI had submitted that rescheduling the exam in the second week of June would throw the exercise into disarray and added that due care has been taken to ensure that no exams are scheduled on the dates when polling will be held. SC refuses to plea seeking postponement of CA exams scheduled in May

In Asian markets, Seoul, Shanghai and Hong Kong were trading in the positive territory. Wall Street ended with gains on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude declined 0.89 per cent to USD 88.70 a barrel. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 3,408.88 crore on Friday, according to exchange data. The BSE benchmark tanked 609.28 points or 0.82 per cent to settle at 73,730.16 on Friday. The NSE Nifty declined 150.40 points or 0.67 per cent to 22,419.95. "By including all world regions in our model, we were able to fill many blind spots and address criticism of other approaches working with fragmented and potentially biased data," said Henrique Pereira, research group head at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv), and the first author of the study published in the journal 'Science'. While land-use change has historically been a significant factor, our findings indicate that climate change could overtake it as the primary driver of biodiversity loss by mid-century," explained study co-author, David Leclere, researcher at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austria. Climate change could become main driver of biodiversity decline by mid-century: Study

In September 2021, the country's forex kitty had reached a high of USD 642.453 billion, which was breached in March this year. Net premium income in Q4FY24 stood at Rs 25,116 crore as against Rs 19,897 crore in the year-ago period. For the full year 2023-24, the company's net profit grew 10 per cent to Rs 1,890 crore from Rs 1,720 crore in the previous year. Total income during the year rose to Rs 1,32,631 crore from Rs 81,598 crore a year ago. SBI Life said it registered a growth of 9 per cent in the value of new business (VoNB) to Rs 5,550 crore in FY24. VoNB is the present value of expected future earnings from new policies written during a specified period. It reflects the additional value expected to be generated through the writing of new policies during a specified period. Assets under management (AUM) grew 27 per cent to Rs 3.8 lakh crore as of March 31, 2024, it said. Solvency ratio declined to 196 per cent from 215 per cent in the previous fiscal. Solvency margin represents the additional capital that an insurer must maintain to cover potential claims beyond their expected liabilities. This serves as a financial safety net, ensuring their ability to settle all claims even in the most challenging circumstances. SBI Life Q4 profit rises 4% to ₹811 crore

Light-intensity activity could range from doing chores to making dinner, whereas moderate and vigourous exercise involve more intentional movement such as a brisk walk or a gym workout, researchers said. The ideal daily routine should also include six hours of sitting and five hours of standing, they said. The international team, led by Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, analysed the behaviour of more than 2,000 people within a 24-hour day to determine the right mix of time spent sitting, sleeping, standing and being physically active for desirable health. "This breakdown encompasses a wide range of <keyword id="21468206" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="health-markers" source="keywords">health markers</keyword> and converges on the 24 hours associated with overall optimal health," said Christian Brakenridge, from the Centre for Urban Transitions, Swinburne University of Technology. "For different health markers, from waist circumference to fasting glucose, there would be different levels for each behaviour," added Brakenridge, also the lead author of the study published in the journal Diabetologia. For instance, switching time spent sitting with more time being physically active or performing light-intensity movements was associated with more beneficial blood glucose levels in individuals having diabetes than those without the condition, the researchers found. The findings also acknowledged how a certain activity replacing another could impact an individual's whole day. "Sleeping may be detrimental to health if it replaces exercise time, but beneficial if it replaces sedentary behaviour," explained Brakenridge. However, even as exercising is more beneficial, time use has to be realistic and balanced, he said. "People may advocate for more time exercising, though it's not feasible to have 10 hours of exercise and zero hours of sedentary behaviour," the researcher said. While the findings applied for able adults, he acknowledged that everyone has different considerations and advised that physical activity should be fun.
