New Delhi, Dec 4 () Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's initial public offering attracted heavy investor demand on the final day of bidding on Wednesday as the issue was subscribed a whopping 165.64 times.
 The Rs 750-crore initial public offering (IPO) received bids for 2,053 crore shares against the total issue size of 12.39 crore shares, as per the data available with the NSE.
 The category reserved for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) was subscribed 113.80 times, that for non institutional investors was subscribed 486.14 times, while retail individual investors category was subscribed 50.16 times, according to merchant banking sources.
 With a strong subscription, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank went past IRCTC to become the most subscribed IPO so far this year.
 The IPO of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) was subscribed 111.91 times in October.
 Ujjivan Small Finance Bank's IPO was subscribed 4.86 times on the second day of subscription on Tuesday.
 The price range for the offer was fixed at Rs 36-37 per share.
 Ujjivan Small Finance Bank mopped up Rs 303.75 crore from anchor investors, according to a statement by the company.
 The Government of Singapore, Monetary Authority of Singapore, CX Partners Fund, Aberdeen, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, Sundaram Mutual Fund, Goldman Sachs India, ICICI Prudential participated in anchor investor bidding.
 Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, JM Financial and IIFL Securities are managing the offer.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank IPO garners strong investor demand; issue subscribed over 165 times

<keyword id="6383459" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ujjivan-Small-Finance-Bank">Ujjivan Small Finance Bank</keyword> (SFB) is expecting contraction in interest and fee incomes this fiscal due to business disruptions caused by COVID-19 and ensuing lockdowns, its annual report has said. The bank, however, said that the pandemic situation had a minimal impact on its books in FY 2019-20 as the nationwide lockdown was imposed in the last few days of March, by which time most of bank's collections had already come. The 2019-20 annual report said the lockdown "did impact the typically high year-end growth momentum of March, and our volumes stood lower than that envisaged earlier and significantly lower than that in the previous month, which affected the interest and fee income". The surplus liquidity carried as a buffer for the crisis period has led to a slight increase in finance cost for the last week of March, it said. "Although we shall continue to accrue interest income on the outstanding portfolio including those accounts that opt for moratorium, there will be an overall contraction in interest income and fee income on account of lower business volumes due to lockdown and adherence to social distancing norms," the bank said in it outlook for 2020-21. However, the bank said it expects a steady reduction in cost of funds due to the several stimulus measures of the RBI to enhance liquidity in the banking system. The lender added that the impact on credit cost remains to be seen at the end of the moratorium and the end of dispensation on NPA (non-performing assets) classification at the end of August 2020. Citing customer surveys, Ujjivan SFB said there have been temporary dip in household income levels in the wake of COVID-19 crisis and addressing the credit needs of this segment would help customers resurrect their businesses and livelihoods. "Given the ongoing crisis situation, we visualise it to be a good time to sensitise our customers and their families on basic savings and banking behaviour and promote goal based deposits, as our deposit rates remain attractive," it said. The bank said as digital payments have increased due to the pandemic, Ujjivan considers it as a good opportunity to expand initiatives and increase adoption to digital channels. "Our continued efforts on contactless and digital banking services will stand us in a good stead to further our outreach and build on this opportunity. Moreover, the volatility in the market yields is expected to help in the growth of institutional deposits," it said. Going forward, bank's strategy would be to manage the effects of lockdown and it will set in motion initiatives such as curtailing credit cost, re-starting business with repeat clients, scaling deposits and Sampoorna banking business. Bank's Sampoorna Family Banking solution was launched to address every household's comprehensive banking requirements, ranging from the youngest member to the senior citizens. The bank said it will also penetrate into new geographies and further push the growth of rural banking. "We will also introduce consumer durable loan, micro loan against property and use an analytics-based model to graduate group loan customers. Additionally, we will simplify our digital pre-approved loan process with the help of data analytics and expand our UPI QR based payment solutions for merchants via UPI acquirer platform and our UPI PSP Mobile app," Ujjivan SFB said in the report. Besides, the lender said that it will step up its cashless repayment further through its Money Mitra initiative and will offer banking services from neighbourhood shops and pilot cash collection points. "We are also planning to launch a voice-, video- and vernacular-based, easily navigable mobile banking app for microfinance customers to drive digital usage," it said. Moving ahead, the bank will expand the product base with new channels of loan EMI payment via popular and easy-to-use platforms -- Popular UPI apps, BBPS, CCAvenue and Billdesk and use of BC and digital pre-approved individual loans via phone banking and mobile app, it said. Also, the bank will concentrate on semi-formal and formal MSME segments, led by its diversified product offering and relationship based approach. Further, the bank said it plans to launch fintech partnerships in supply chain finance domain to provide an additional lead channel and will also introduce digital onboarding platform for improved delivery processes. During 2019-20, Ujjivan SFB registered a 28 per cent growth in its gross advances at Rs 14,153 crore as on March 30, 2020. Deposits of the bank were up by 46 per cent at Rs 10,780 crore while the retail deposits rose 73 per cent to Rs 4,724 crore. Bank's total income in FY20 jumped by 49 per cent to Rs 3,026 crore, earning net profit of Rs 350 crore, which was higher by 76 per cent from a year ago. Ujjivan SFB, which began its operations in Februray 2017, got listed into the capital market in December 2019, which was termed as one of the most subscribed IPOs in 2019. The bank with its branches spanning across 24 states and union territories had a customer base of 54.4 lakh as on March 31, 2020.

The IPO has made its initial investors 22% richer in the past two days — gaining over ₹7748 crore ($1.05 billion) since its debut to the current market capitalisation of ₹35,669 crore. <div type="image" title="Gland Pharma share (2)" msid="79363622" hostid="261"></div> Despite the muted response from investors during the initial public issue, the shares listed at a premium of 13% and closed 21% higher on the first day of the debut. And, the stocks were trading 18% higher at ₹2,143 apiece on November 23 at 10:20 am. This was the 13th company to list this year and the largest ever a public issue in the Indian pharma industry. The party may not be over yet! While you may have missed the listing gains, the investment experts believe there are a lot more lies ahead for the Gland Pharma investors. Chakri Lokapriya, CIO &amp; MD, TCG AMC <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/expert-view/can-gland-pharma-stock-see-more-upside/articleshow/79338981.cms">told Economic Times</a>, that “the company’s profitability and growth are very reasonable. It has 45-50% of its revenue coming from a few large clients, and that does present some kind of concentration risk. But just the breadth of the business allows the company to continue to do well. I think there is still upside from the current levels for Gland Pharma.” <div type="image" title="Gland Pharma profit and revenue (2)" msid="79363627" hostid="261"></div> The experts believe that its strong financials have been the reason investors ignored its Chinese promoter. “The stock is trading above its midcap pharma peers but higher valuations justified by the last 3-year revenue growth and PAT growth of 27% and 55% CAGR respectively. Any dip in price can be a good opportunity for long-term investors,” said Yash Gupta, Equity Research Associate at Angel Broking. The company has its business spread over 60 countries and a great track record of revenue delivery and profitability across the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, India and the rest of the world. Some of its top B2B clients include Sagent Pharmaceuticals and Apotex as well as Fresenius Kabi USA and Athenex Pharmaceutical Division in the United States and the rest of the world. Gland Pharma IPO investors made more than a billion dollars in just 2 days

<ul><li>Bansal has just bought a majority stake in CRIDS and has taken over as CEO. </li><li>He had sold his 5.5% stake for $1 billion in <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword>’s sale to Walmart. </li><li>He has gone on to make several <keyword id="6362476" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="investments">investments</keyword> in the Indian startup ecosystem.</li></ul>Flipkart founder and former CEO <keyword id="225032" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sachin-Bansal">Sachin Bansal</keyword> is now back as a CEO again. After months of speculation over his next possible venture in the financial services segment, Bansal bought a majority stake in CRIDS and took over as CEO. Bansal exited from Flipkart after its $16 billion acquisition by global retail giant Walmart in 2018. He sold his 5.5% stake for $1 billion. In a note that he released right after his exit from the company he had built for 10 years, Bansal had said that he would spend time on ‘pending projects, gaming and brushing up his coding skills’. While he made personal investments even while running Flipkart, he later founded a firm called BAC Acquisitions. Here's a look at all of his investments since his much-talked about exit from Flipkart. CRIDS Bansal picked up a majority stake in Bengaluru-based microfinance company Chaitanya Rural Intermediation Development Services (CRIDS). According to<a href="https://tech.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/startups/sachin-bansal-invests-rs-740-cr-in-chaitanya-rural-intermediation-development-services/71294091"> ET</a>, the former Flipkart CEO bought a 94% stake in the company. While he took over the role of CEO, Bansal in a statement called it, his ‘entry into financial services’. <keyword id="6354720" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ola">Ola</keyword> His first investment after Flipkart and also his biggest, was a $21 million investment into cab hailing unicorn Ola. Bansal’s investment fetched him 70,588 series J preferred shares at a price of ₹21, 250 per share. <keyword id="53189" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="boat">boAt</keyword> He also made an offbeat investment in audio brand boAt, via BAC Acquisitions. The brand which is known for its affordable speakers, received ₹20 crores as a part of venture debt. The three-year old boAt has already registered ₹100 crore revenue in FY'18 and is eyeing ₹500 crore in the next couple of years. Piramal Enterprises Bansal invested ₹200 crore in Piramal Enterprises’ debt, and subscribed to its non-convertible debentures (NCDs). <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/sachin-bansal-invests-200-cr-in-piramal-enterprises-debt-1563126810412.html">Piramal Enterprises</a> will infuse these new funds into its financial services sector. Ather Energy He has also invested in a Bengaluru-based electric bike startup, Ather Energy. While the amount invested is not known, he led the $51 million round. As an angel investor, Bansal earlier invested $0.5 million in the startup in 2014. The startup claims to be one of India’s first startups to manufacture electric vehicles. In June 2018, the startup’s first bike Ather 450 hit the market. Vogo and Bounce In April 2019, through his firm BAC Acquisitions, Bansal invested in scooter rental startups Vogo and Bounce. He Bansal had pumped in $3 million into each startup. Interestingly, Bansal’s other investment Ola had also pumped in a major $100 million into Vogo. With that, Vogo’s scooters are also listed on Ola for rental. Bounce is also backed by Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners. NBFCS In <a href="https://www.livemint.com/companies/start-ups/sachin-bansal-invests-in-altico-indostar-cap-1551115360930.html">February 2019</a>, Bansal invested in two non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) – Altico Capital India and IndoStar Capital Finance. In the same month, <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/startups/newsbuzz/sachin-bansal-plans-to-foray-into-fin-services/articleshow/68088962.cms">ET</a> said that Bansal reportedly made queries at the Reserve Bank of India, to understand the regulations necessary to start a bank.
