In August, Twitter put funding up for ShareChat, an Indian social media app for local languages. "I have used the product of Sieve as a freelancer. As an Angel, I consider the person first, and the product second. I find Sanjay as a dedicated, empathetic and extremely hardworking individual," stated Stone during a video conference at Huddle Kerala 2019. In both instances, Twitter has not disclosed the amount it has invested. What is Sieve? Sieve is a platform for tech freelancers and agencies. It provides services like infrastructure to websites, creating digital signatures or even manages invoices. As of now, Sieve only serves the US market but has plans to expand into Europe. The aim is to allow entrepreneurs to build Internet companies in the cloud. Using Sieve, freelancers from all over the world can form companies, and work from anywhere in the world. Not just Twitter Sieve’s other investor is Friends of Oorjja, an ecosystem to help individuals from the differently-abled community. Nediyara received help from mentors in the banking industry and Otis Elevators. Micro-blogging site <keyword id="6354616" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Twitter">Twitter</keyword> has struck a deal to acquire Bengaluru-based mobile marketing and analytics platform <keyword id="416397" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ZipDial">ZipDial</keyword>. This will be Twitter’s first acquisition in India. 
 
Neither Twitter nor ZipDial have revealed the amount of money involved in the acquisition. But according to media reports, Twitter is likely to have spent $30-$40 million for the acquisition. 
 "Over the next several years, billions of people will come online for the first time in countries like Brazil, India and Indonesia. For many, their first online experience will be on a mobile device – but the cost of data may prevent them from experiencing the true power of the Internet. Twitter, in partnership with ZipDial, can make great content more accessible to everyone,” said <keyword id="2692082" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Christian-Oestlien">Christian Oestlien</keyword>, vice president (product) at Twitter. 
 
ZipDial, which was set up in 2010, is a cloud-based mobile and analytics platform which allows companies to reach their target audience through ‘missed calls.’ In the last two years, ZipDial and Twitter have tied up for various campaigns like the Lok Sabha elections, Bollywood film promotions and @MTVIndia’s #RockTheVote ‘Dial the Hashtag’ campaign. 
 
“More than half of the world’s population live in emerging and newly developed markets, and these consumers use their mobile phones differently. We build for them. ZipDial’s innovative platform has already scaled across South Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa, where we operate. We are thrilled to expand our impact to a global level with Twitter,” said Valerie Wagoner, founder and CEO of ZipDial. 
 
Twitter said that the buyout will boost its investment in India. “We’re extremely impressed with what ZipDial has built and are delighted to welcome them to the flock. In India, our primary mission, which is bolstered by this acquisition, is to help every Indian with a mobile device enjoy a great, relevant Twitter experience,” said Rishi Jaitley, market director, India and Southeast Asia, Twitter.

New Delhi, Homegrown Twitter-like platform <keyword id="3518161" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="koo">Koo</keyword> has garnered over 10 lakh new users in just one week, surpassing the 40 lakh-figure in nearly 10 months of its arrival, as Twitter was caught in crosshairs with the Indian government over its direction to remove nearly 1,400 controversial accounts. Koo, a favourite among several Union ministers, including IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad who is at the forefront of the government's war with Twitter, has reached 4.2 million users within no time. According to data analytics platform Statista, as of January 2021, the micro-blogging platform Twitter had an audience reach of 69.3 million users in the US. Japan and India were ranked second and third with 50.9 and 17.5 million users, respectively. The fast-growing vernacular platform Koo describes itself as a personal updates and opinion sharing micro-blogging service. The app won the Atmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge held in August last year and Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> encouraged Indians to use the Koo app in his 'Mann Ki Baat' speech too. However, Koo also found itself in the midst of several controversies including a data leak row and Chinese investment. Koo Co-founder and CEO Aprameya Radhakrishna denied that there was any data leak. "Koo is an India registered company with Indian founders. Raised earlier capital 2.5 years ago. As Twitter engages in a firefight with the Indian government, homegrown rival Koo crosses 4 million users within 10 months of launch

New Delhi, Oct 2 (IANS) Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Friday that the electric car maker is finally ready to enter the India market in 2021. Musk revealed his plans to bring Tesla cars to India in his response to a Twitter post that asked about the progress on Tesla's planned entry into India. "Next year for sure," Musk said in response to the tweet that posted pictures of T-shirts with "India wants Tesla" and "India loves Tesla" printed on them. "Thanks for waiting," he added. On several occasions earlier, Musk had revealed that he would like to bring Tesla to India, but in a 2018 Twitter post he cited "some challenging government regulations" as a hurdle. He also criticised the foreign direct investment norms for the delay in the electric car maker's entry into the Indian market. "Would love to be in India. Some challenging government regulations, unfortunately," Musk had tweeted in response to a Twitter user who wrote "No Tesla in India" on his Twitter handle. In July this year, he hinted at allowing Tesla's Indian fans to drive an electric Model 3 "hopefully soon". In response to a query by a follower who booked the car four years ago, Musk replied that the "launch should hopefully happen soon". However, Friday's tweet gives a more definitive timeline of Tesla's possible India entry. This comes at a time when India is ramping up charging infrastructure for electric vehicles with the aim of significantly increasing the proportion of electric vehicles plying on the roads. In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tesla headquarters at Palo Alto, California and met Musk who gave Modi a tour of the company's electric car plant.
