All employees from Chroma Stories will be transferred to Twitter immediately, adding to its current talent. Chroma Stories allowed its users to jazz up their content with stylish layouts and frames for their photographs, create multiple slides for a Snap or Instagram Story and add video effects like Instagram’s Boomerang -- personalised for any platform of their choice. It was co-founded by Instagram Boomerang inventor John Barnett, Joshua Harris who was a Product Design Manager at Facebook’s augmented reality team and Alex Li, Former Engineering Manager on Facebook Photos and Instagram Stories. “When we founded Chroma Labs in 2018, we set out to build a company to inspire creativity and help people tell their visual stories. During the past year, we’ve enabled creators and businesses around the world to create millions of stories with the Chroma Stories app. We’re proud of this work, and look forward to continuing our mission at a larger scale – with one of the most important services in the world,” read Chroma Stories’ statement. Twitter’s Product Lead, Kayvon Beykpour took to Twitter to announce the acquisition.

 Chrome Stories will continue to work for now and you can still craft pretty stories as long as the application remains installed on your phone. However, it won’t get any new updates.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>An ex-Twitter employee says the company emailed the termination notice to his wife, per Bloomberg.</li><li>John Barnett was fired after supporting a colleague who was terminated, per the report.</li></ul>A former Twitter employee who was fired says the company sent a termination notice to his wife's email address instead of his own, <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-12-22/fired-twitter-manager-sues-over-cancellation-of-stock-options">Bloomberg</a> reported on Thursday.John Barnett, a former product manager at Twitter, was fired in November, according to a lawsuit filed by Barnett over claims Twitter violated a restricted stock agreement that he received when the company acquired his startup Chroma Labs, per Bloomberg.Twitter sent an email with Barnett's termination notice to his wife's address, the lawyers said in the lawsuit, Bloomberg reported. But Barnett's wife didn't work at Twitter, the lawyers said, per the report."Twitter never sent this email to Barnett himself," the lawyers said in the suit, per Bloomberg. Barnett discovered he had been fired after he expressed support towards a colleague, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/twitter-engineer-fired-elon-musk-bunch-cowards-2022-11">Eric Frohnhoefer</a>, who said he was <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/musk-tweets-fired-former-twitter-engineer-photo-locked-laptop-2022-11">terminated</a> following an argument with Elon Musk, per the report.The lawsuit claims that Barnett's stock options, which he received when he joined Twitter after Chroma Labs was acquired, could only be canceled if he was fired for misconduct, Bloomberg reported.Twitter said in Barnett's termination notice that any unvested stock options would be revoked because of his firing, per the lawsuit, reported by Bloomberg.Barnett and Twitter didn't immediately respond to Insider's request for comment made outside of normal US operating hours.Three Twitter employees were fired within 24 hours of criticizing Musk on Twitter, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/twitter-staff-slam-elon-musk-did-you-bother-to-learn-2022-11">Insider</a> reported. Musk even tweeted that Frohnhoefer had been "fired," but later deleted the post.It seems that Twitter informed employees about being fired via an email sent to their personal account, according to a former manager who spoke to <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-laid-off-twitter-manager-team-fired-jobs-hours-2022-12">Insider</a>. Josh Barnett, inventor of the Instagram's Boomerang video effects app, numbers among themChroma's app allows users to edit pictures and videos specifically for sharing on Stories features found on Instagram, Snapchat, and more. CTO and cofounder Alex Li was previously an engineering manager Instagram Stories.The concept of "Stories" was first made popular by Snapchat in 2013, and allows users to post images or videos which only remain viewable temporarily, as opposed to the images posted permanently to your main feed.
