It usually requires dedication for a few months in order to crack the exam. <br /><br />Some prefer taking coaching classes while some prefer studying on their own. “Opting to prepare from the coaching centres can be very helpful to the candidates as these coaching centers have a crash course, in which the candidates are trained with shortcuts and tricks for solving the bank exams question papers with speed and accuracy. However, self-study, online consultation etc., also play a very vital role. So, it is also possible for aspirants to crack exams without coaching also,” says Gaurav Tyagi, founder of Career Xpert, a Noida based counselling hub.<br /><br />These are some of the important points an aspirant should keep in mind while preparing for bank exams, according to Ruchir Arora, founder and chief executive (CEO) of CollegeDekho, an online career guidance platform.<br /><br />1.<strong> Study plan</strong><br />Study plan is something, which we all make but end up not sticking to it. For IBPS exams, it is quite essential to make a study plan as it gives you a clear indication of how much syllabus you’ve covered. A study plan can also help you reduce stress levels, which is caused due to exam pressure.<br /><br />2. <strong>Take regular tests</strong><br />An aspirant should always focus on increasing his/her speed and the only way to do that is to take regular mock tests. It will not only increase your speed, but also boost your capability of solving tricky problems in a short span of time.<br /><br />3. <strong>Choose your study material and resources wisely</strong><br />It is always recommended to choose books, study materials for studying which contain appropriate amounts of relevant information. One must use the best and reliable sources for preparing.<br /><br />4.  <strong>Work on weak areas</strong><br />An aspirant should know his/her weak areas and give them a little bit more attention than other subjects/areas. <br /><br />5. <strong>Time management</strong><br />Managing time is the most important aspect while preparing or giving the exam. Therefore, it is important to stay calm and positive to improve your concentration. One can do yoga and meditation to keep the momentum going on the right track.<br /><br />Lakhs of students appear for the exams, but very few of them manage to qualify. Bank PO/clerk exams: These are a few tips and tricks that can help you clear them

It aims to employ more than 1000 people by the end of this year, the company said in a statement on Monday. The edtech startup announced the expansion of its workforce by four times to fuel the growth of the organisation.<br /><br />The e-learning platform — which provides specialised coaching classes for entrance exams like Joint Entrance Examination (<keyword id="6392660" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="JEE">JEE</keyword>), All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), National Talent Search Examination (<keyword id="75234" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="NTSE">NTSE</keyword>), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (<keyword id="6361994" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="NEET">NEET</keyword>) and Olympiads — will be hiring from Tier-2 and beyond locations across various fields like marketing, sales and technical roles. <br /><br />It is planning to recruit over 1000 people in sales profile, 100 engineers in technology teams located in USA’s Kirkland in Washington and Bengaluru, India. Edtech startup BasicFirst plans to hire over 1000 employees for sales, marketing and engineering roles

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Philipp Guelland/Getty Images</span></p><p class="caption">Sahad of Syria playing at the railway station on September 14 in Salzburg, Austria.</p></div><p></p></div></div>There are a few ingredients that <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/analysts-losing-sleep-over-us-bank-loans-2016-3">create a credit bubble</a>.</p><p>Lenders need to be <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/1-trillion-bond-bubble-ready-to-burst-2016-4">cranking out more and more loans</a>, taking on debt to their books. Underwriting standards, or the ease at which borrowers are able to get a loan, have to be decreasing. (This means less qualified borrowers are getting loans.) Finally, for the bubble to pop, you need an economic slowdown that causes borrowers to not be able to pay back their loans.</p><p>Bubbles are damaging, which is why the US government has a myriad of agencies and regulators assigned to look out for them.</p><p>One of those is Thomas Curry, who heads <a href="http://www.occ.gov/about/what-we-do/mission/index-about.html">the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency</a>. The OCC, which is the section of the US Treasury responsible for overseeing banks in the US, released the <a href="http://www.occ.gov/publications/publications-by-type/other-publications-reports/semiannual-risk-perspective/semiannual-risk-perspective-spring-2016.pdf">Semi-Annual Risk Perspective</a> for the banks on Monday.</p><p>In it, Curry and the OCC highlighted risks to both banks' operations and their lending businesses. One part of the economy in particular, according to Curry, is worrying, and even if he didn't say it, a bubble may be forming.</p><h2>A new, but different, real-estate bubble</h2><p>While Curry emphasized that the banking system was "strong and healthy," part of his job is to worry about what could go wrong. Based on where we are in the credit cycle, Curry said <a href="http://www.occ.gov/news-issuances/speeches/2016/pub-speech-2016-79.pdf">in remarks accompanying the report</a>, worrying trends are beginning to appear.</p><p>"It's at this stage of the cycle that we also see strong loan growth combined with easing underwriting to result in increased credit risk," said Curry, whose office works with the Federal Reserve and FDIC to regulate banks.</p><p>Based on that cycle, Curry said he was starting to see changes in the lending standards of banks, particularly in commercial real estate, or CRE. Here's Curry on the recent shifts for lenders (emphasis added):</p><p style="padding-left: 60px;">"While leveraged lending and auto lending remain concerns, CRE lending and concentration risk management has become an area of emphasis for regulators. CRE portfolios have seen rapid growth, particularly among small banks. At the end of 2015, 406 banks had CRE portfolios that had grown more than 50 percent in the prior three years. Of note, more than 180 of these banks more than doubled their CRE portfolios during the past three years. <strong>At the same time we are seeing this high growth, our exams found looser underwriting standards with less-restrictive covenants, extended maturities, longer interest-only periods, limited guarantor requirements, and deficient-stress testing practices.</strong>"</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table click-to-enlarge"><div><div class="image on-image"><a title_source="Office of the Comptroller of the Currency" title_caption="" class="zoomin" href="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/57854d6588e4a7fd018b78c6-960/screen shot 2016-07-12 at 4.00.02 pm.png"><span class="sprites click-to-enlarge-icon" title="Click to enlarge"></span></a><p class="source"><span>Office of the Comptroller of the Currency</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>So on the bubble checklist you've got significant growth in loans, easing of underwriting standards, and funky tricks to allow less-qualified candidates access to loans. <a href="http://www.occ.gov/publications/publications-by-type/other-publications-reports/semiannual-risk-perspective/semiannual-risk-perspective-spring-2016.pdf">The OCC report</a> also noted that vacancy rates for apartments were creeping up, and it expects the same to happen for industrial and retail spaces as well.</p><p>To be clear, Curry and the OCC report don't use the word "bubble," but generally one of the government regulators in charge of watching the banking system isn't going to throw around that term too often. A top US bank regulator is worried about a real-estate bubble - even if he won't say it

But she felt her options for growth quickly were constricting if she continued along the path she was currently on.</p><p>"I didn't think there was a way to grow quickly in the industry I was in - there were ceilings I was hitting," Cassin told Business Insider.</p><p>So Cassin, now a second-year student at the The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, turned her sights to an MBA, hoping it would set her apart from others.</p><p>"I felt that business principles and skills could help me do more good in the world and was something I didn't see in a lot of the people I was working with," she said.</p><p>Cassin knew she wanted to stay in the Washington, DC area and therefore applied to just two schools: Darden and Georgetown's McDonough School of Business. She got into both.</p><p>Darden is a competitive business program located in Charlottesville, Virginia. With about a 26% acceptance rate, and an <a href="http://www.darden.virginia.edu/mba/community/class-profile/">average </a><span><a href="http://www.darden.virginia.edu/mba/community/class-profile/">Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score of 712</a>,</span> the US News &amp; World report ranks it as the <a href="https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/university-of-virginia-darden-01234">14th best business school in the US</a>.</p><p class="source"><span>Alice Cassin</span></p><p class="caption">Alice Cassin.</p>Cassin took the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), rather than the GMAT, for business school admissions. Previously, the GMAT was used fairly exclusively for applications to business school, while the GRE was used for other general graduate programs, but a growing number of business programs accept scores from either exam.<p>While Cassin's GRE score was competitive enough to secure her admission to two top business programs - just shy of 700 - she said one thing she wished she had known was how much your standardized test scores follow you, even after the admissions process.</p><p>"In retrospect I probably would have spent more time preparing for the test," Cassin said. "I didn't realize it actually does matter for some careers how high your score is."</p><p>Particularly with banking and consulting jobs, Cassin said there were generally accepted scores for securing an interview or to receive a job offer. "Some companies cut off at 700," she said, noting that while a company might not officially have a cutoff score policy, in her experience, this was the case.</p><p>Once Cassin had her GRE scores, she turned her attention to her admissions essay and interviewing at each school. For Darden, she received the prompt: "Describe the most courageous professional decision you have ever made or the most courageous action you have taken at work and what did you learn from that experience."</p><p>She tackled this question by writing about her experience at the World Bank working with clients in the Middle East, highlighting her confidence in being able to present as a woman even in environments that were dominated by men.</p><p>In both her essay and her interview she made sure to explain how the school would benefit from having her as a student. "I think the biggest mistake people make is that they write about why they're interested in the degree as opposed to what they're bringing to the table," she said. "Sometimes it's just a reframing."</p><p>The admissions committee was impressed, and offered her a spot at Darden, though they made the acceptance contingent upon an agreement that Cassin take a finance or accounting course at a community college before she started in the fall. That was due to the fact that Darden has a very quantitative curriculum and she didn't have a background in finance, she said.</p><p>Now, as her last year business school winds down, Cassin already has an offer from global consulting firm Accenture in their federal government and non-profit division. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) jobs — IBM, Xiaomi, Accenture and more are hiring developers across India

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><ul class="summary-list"><li><strong>Nicholas Berube is a trivia buff who's competed on two games of Jeopardy - and this year, he tested his knowledge on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."</strong></li><li><strong>His wife, Rachel Harris, is an information designer and gathered statistics on 100 games of Millionaire to find out how likely&#xa0;contestants are to win the $50,000 prize.</strong></li><li><strong>People did well on the $20,000 and $30,000 questions, with 4 in 5 contestants guessing correctly.</strong></li><li>But success rates for people who attempted to answer the $50,000 question plummeted, with only 1 in 3 people guessing correctly.&#xa0;</li><li>Harris breaks down the strategies her husband used to walk away from the game show with $30,000.</li></ul><p id="f53d">This past June,<span>&#xa0;"</span>Who Wants to be a Millionaire"<span>&#xa0;</span>held open casting calls in Boston. My husband Nick was alerted through an online network of fellow trivia enthusiasts he'd connected with after his<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="https://jezebel.com/horrors-jeopardy-contestant-mixes-up-iggy-azalea-and-a-1681267559" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" data-href="https://jezebel.com/horrors-jeopardy-contestant-mixes-up-iggy-azalea-and-a-1681267559">two-game run on Jeopardy</a><span>&#xa0;</span>in 2015. A modest crowd waited politely in the light rain outside of West End Johnnie's, then filed in for a timed exam and the opportunity to win several oversized t-shirts featuring the Millionaire logo.</p><p id="256e">Roughly one in four people passed the initial test, and were ushered downstairs to fill out questionnaires and meet with crew to see who might do well on television. Several weeks later, Nick got a call back from the production staff, and we booked tickets to Las Vegas.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p><span>The general structure of the game is to correctly answer a series of increasingly challenging questions for increasingly higher rewards. Contestants are rewarded for correct answers, inching up the ladder towards the million-dollar prize. The $5,000 and $50,000 questions serve as thresholds  -  if these questions are answered correctly, that amount of cash is guaranteed. An incorrect response knocks the contestant down to the last threshold they crossed  -  usually dropping from contestants with $20,000 or $30,000 in the bank back down to $5,000.</span></p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p><span>A perfectly played game of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has only 14 questions  -  far fewer than the 60 questions on the board in a full game of Jeopardy. With such a relatively few number of questions, it's hard to know what to prepare for. Nick brushed up on history and pop culture knowledge, and practiced running through all the presidents in order (which did indeed come in handy). Nick's father Michael, who would be joining as a plus-one for one of Nick's "lifelines," did the same.</span></p><p id="d0a1">While mulling over ways to prepare, I remembered<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2015/01/john_schultzs_jeopardy_streak.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" data-href="http://www.mlive.com/entertainment/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2015/01/john_schultzs_jeopardy_streak.html">John Schultz</a>, another Jeopardy contestant whose games were taped the same day as Nick's. John worked as a programmer, so to prepare, he scraped thirty year's worth of Jeopardy questions from<span>&#xa0;</span><a href="http://j-archive.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow" data-href="http://j-archive.com/">j-archive</a><span>&#xa0;</span>(a site fastidiously updated by a group of fan-archivists). John sorted the questions into categories, found out where his problem areas were, and studied them relentlessly. This paid off handily  -  John won five games, raking in over $100,000.</p><p id="8490">With this scientific approach in mind, I set out to gather statistics on 100 games of Millionaire (weeding out celebrity appearances, including Bachelor contestants  -  both shows are hosted by Chris Harrison and share a production crew, so Millionaire also serves as a platform to cross-promote ABC shows).</p><p id="e975">Looking through the data, a clear pattern quickly emerged. The odds that a contestant guesses wrong, along with the penalty paid for an incorrect answer, become increasingly steep. Nearly every contestant answered the first five questions correctly and cleared the $5,000 level  -  meaning no matter what, they would take at least that much home. The next threshold requires only five more correct answers. Yet only 8 people in 100 went home with $50k or more.</p><p id="bcb2">Most people made it about halfway through the game. Contestants have some help  -  the game includes three lifelines: polling the audience, removing two answers, and asking a friend. People did well on the $20k and $30k questions, with 4 in 5 contestants guessing correctly. Success rates for people who attempted to answer the $50k question plummeted though, with only 1 in 3 people guessing correctly.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p><span>Nick's strategy was to attempt clearing the $50,000 threshold with the 50/50 lifeline remaining, which removes two of the wrong answers. The few contestant who can manage this have even odds on the $100,000 question. The data looked terrible though  -  I kept reminding Nick of how poorly the contestants fared when giving an answer for $50,000, rather than walking away with $30,000. A number of these questions are specifically engineered to trick even the wiliest of trivia nerds. The house always wins  -  and Millionaire's question-writers are careful to ensure not&#xa0;</span><em>too many</em><span>&#xa0;contestants run off with giant checks.</span></p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p id="9f18">Nick played a great game  -  he breezed through the first set of easy questions to clear the $5,000 threshold. By the $10,000 question, things started to get a little more difficult. Nick used his first lifeline to get help from a sartorially savvy audience on a question about bowtie terminology.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_left"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><span>Next up, what luck! A question about how many presidents appeared in Disney World's Hall of Presidents when it first opened in 1971. You can see by Nick's face and my excited head-nodding in the background that he's got this in the bag. Nick ran backwards through the presidents to quantify how many, settling on Nixon. With money on the line, Nick wanted to be absolutely certain, and up and down the list again  -  but the show edited out instances of re-counting and double-checking. There's also a tiny trick  -  Grover Cleveland served non-consecutive terms as the 22nd and 24th president, but of course there's only one of him in the hall at Disney World. A question a little further in the game, a correct answer might hinge on a contestant's ability to factor this into account, but for $10,000, it's just the order that's important.</span><p>&#xa0;</p><p><span><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div></span></p><p><span>The next lifeline was used on the $30,000 question, when called his father down to work out a truly bizarre question about which pairs of musicians died four years apart in the same London flat. Nick was pretty sure he knew this one without help, but his dad played in a band for years (they once opened for the Ramones) and thought this would be the most interesting question to pull Michael down for. Together they worked through the general location and cause of death for each of the eight musicians, prompting Chris Harrison to call them creepy before affirming Nick had given the correct response.</span></p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p id="1a25">The $50,000 question is where the statistics I'd relied on were no longer as helpful as I'd hoped they'd be. It's true, in most cases, it's better to walk. Nick ruled out Jerusalem and Moscow immediately, and was leaning heavily towards Bangkok. He used his 50/50 lifeline to remove two answers, but that only took away Jerusalem and Moscow, confirming what he already knew.</p><p id="b836">He knew the geography cold, but knowing how other contestants fared in the past, he wondered if there were hidden tricks related to Daylight Savings Time or countries' occasional propensities to ignore international time standards.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><h2 id="c2c1">Trusting what we had seen in the numbers just a hair more than he trusted his instincts, he walked&#xa0;away.</h2><p id="31a7">Winning $30,000 on a game show is incredible, but it's also still a little hard to know you walked away when you had the answer.
