<p class="drop-cap">If the word "Yellowstone" only conjures up images of the lush landscapes of America's first national park, please forgive us for thinking that you've been living under a rock for the last five years.</p><p>That's because "<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/yellowstone-timeline-of-controversy-criticism-conflict-kevin-costner-2023-4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yellowstone</a>" the television show has become the <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/most-popular-tv-shows-highest-rated-2022-2023-season-yellowstone-football-1235623612/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most-watched scripted series</a> in America since it burst onto screens in 2018.</p><p>Cocreated by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, the Paramount Network series revolves around a ranch in Montana, named after its neighboring landmark.</p><p>At its center is John Dutton (<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/kevin-costner-no-longer-under-contract-for-yellowstone-court-document-2023-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kevin Costner</a>), an aging rancher who spent the first five seasons maintaining and protecting his family's land and legacy in the face of myriad threats. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/yellowstone-will-kevin-costner-appear-in-season-5b-episodes-2024-8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Before his death</a> in the season five midseason premiere, he was still contemplating which of his children would be the right fit to inherit.</p><p>In recent years, the world of "Yellowstone" has expanded beyond the flagship series. <ul class="summary-list"><li>A Californian home damaged by a fallen tree has been listed for sale for $499,999.</li><li>The LA County bungalow was severely damaged in May, with the roof and some walls crushed.</li></ul><p>"Did you see on TV the home destroyed by an old stone pine?" reads an unusual <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/113-S-Mountain-Ave-1-Monrovia-CA-91016/439659015_zpid/">Zillow listing, which went up last week</a>.</p><p>The property in question is a mangled <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/live-in-a-tiny-mansion-home-so-could-afford-california-2023-10">home</a> just outside Los Angeles that could be yours for $499,999, if you're willing to buy a half-destroyed house.</p><p>In May, a large tree uprooted and toppled over, severely damaging the Southern California bungalow, as well as crushing a parked car and some fences.</p><p>Despite two people being inside, no one was injured, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/monrovia-home-crushed-by-fallen-tree-is-up-for-sale/">according to CBS News.</a></p><p>What remains of the building — a partial structure with missing walls and ceilings — is now on the market.</p><p>It's <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/mortgages/what-is-zillow">advertised on Zillow</a> as a "flat and abated lot / partial structure ready for new construction or rebuild."</p><p>Or, as listing agent Kevin Wheeler joked to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2024-09-04/half-a-house-half-a-million-a-tree-crushed-home-hits-the-market-in-monrovia">the Los Angeles Times</a>, it's an "open-concept floor plan."</p><p>The Zillow listing notes that the 2,504-square-foot lot northeast of Los Angeles is red-tagged, meaning it is unsafe for habitation.</p><p>But while the electricity is switched off, it still has functioning plumbing, Wheeler told the Times.</p><p><a target="_blank" href="https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/monrovia/latest/monrovia_ca/0-0-0-71727"><u>He also told the outlet that while Monrovia legal codes</u></a> typically require a review for the demolition of properties more than 50 years old, since the house was destroyed by an act of God, a review isn't necessary.</p><p>Although half a million dollars may seem like a lot for a property in this condition, the listing agent said there has been "a lot of interest," explaining that demand in the area is high and inventory low.</p><p>Wheeler said the buyer could easily rebuild the home, and it could make a good investment for somebody wanting to flip it.</p><p>In the immediate aftermath of the tree collapse, would-be buyers had tracked down the homeowners and made <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-respond-to-low-ball-offer-potential-client-freelancing-2021-10">low-ball offers</a>, Wheeler told the Times.</p><p>"They were trying to buy it for $250,000 or $300,000," he said. "But market comparisons for similar properties in Monrovia put the value at $500,000."</p><p>In <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://uk.news.yahoo.com/open-plan-half-tree-crushed-232546863.html">an interview with AFP,</a> Wheeler added: "There's a house nearby about the same size on the same street that sold for $900,000... so there's enough meat on the bone for them to make a profit."</p>

Though it is later revealed he has Valryian blood when he claims the dragon Vermithor, there is never a direct link between him and the Targaryens.<br /><br />In an interview before episode seven was released, Bew told<a href="https://decider.com/2024/07/28/house-of-the-dragon-hugh-the-hammer-mother-saera-targaryen/?utm_campaign=decider&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social" target="_blank"> Decider</a> that Hugh is related to Saera, one of Baerlon Targaryen's seven sisters.<br /><br />This is not the first time that "House of the Dragon" has changed the "Fire and Blood" storyline. Fans have praised some of these changes, while others have left plot holes, making the story more confusing.<br /><br />Hugh's addition to the Targaryens makes an already puzzling family tree even more complicated. It also seems to hint that the show will adapt another major part of the civil war in "Fire and Blood."<br /><br />In "Fire and Blood," Hugh betrays Rhaenyra and eventually tries to seize the Iron Throne for himself so that he can rule as king.<br /><br />Hugh is not part of the royal succession in Westeros in the TV series, but the fact that he is related to the royal family and has one of the biggest dragons could give him a genuine claim to the throne. Through the cult, she met Michael Galeotti Jr., whom she married from 2005 to 2012. In the memoir, Lenz referred to him as "Quiet Boy" or "QB." Galeotti is the son of Michael Galeotti Sr., a pastor who founded <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.wildbranchministries.com/About">Wild Branch Christian Ministries</a> and is referred to as "Les" in Lenz's book.</p><p>Lenz and her now ex-husband welcomed a daughter named Rosie in 2011. The following year, when Rosie was 11 months old, Lenz decided to leave the cult and divorce Galeotti.</p><p>While starring in "OTH," Lenz said that she constantly traveled back and forth between LA, Wilmington, where the show was filmed, and Idaho, where "Les" moved the group to a large house.</p><p>In her memoir, Lenz said that the millions she earned from "OTH" supported her husband and daughter, plus "the extended Family's various endeavors, including a motel, a restaurant, and, most importantly, a ministry."</p><p>Lenz said that while she was "on the outs" with the remaining members of the Family post-divorce, she was informed of "shady" business dealings involving the restaurant.</p><p>When she reviewed her balance at the bank, she was astounded to see that her checking account was drastically lower than expected.</p><p>"It couldn't be right," Lenz wrote. "I had been making around a million dollars a year for several seasons."</p><p>Even with government taxes, paying her team, yearly expenses, and $200,000 going toward the restaurant, Lenz estimated that she should have had $2.4 million in her account. Instead, there was $220,000 remaining.</p><p>"I knew $200,000 was more than many people would see in their whole lives," Lenz said. "But I'd spent 20 years building a career."</p><p>The actor said she was filled with feelings of self-loathing after building up her acting career, only for her earnings to then be depleted by the cult.</p><p>"It was really horrifying," she told <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://people.com/bethany-joy-lenz-lost-millions-to-a-cult-exclusive-8728595">People magazine</a>.</p><p>"Not knowing how I was going to make rent because all the money was gone, it was legitimately incredibly difficult," she said.</p><p>Additionally, Lenz said that the cult controlled her career and Les deterred her from accepting an offer to play Belle on Broadway, which was her "biggest theatre dream for years."</p><p>Lenz said that Les convinced her that pursuing her Broadway dream would be "at the expense" of her soul. She ended up turning down the offer.</p><p>"It felt shallow to even consider," Lenz wrote. "The answer had to be Family."</p><p>Since leaving the cult, Lenz landed roles on shows like "Dexter" and "Grey's Anatomy," as well as a variety of holiday movies for Lifetime and Hallmark. "Good for her. She's going to make a name for herself. But it's not the way it went down."</p><p>Lenz's ex-husband also spoke to the publication and said that he was unsure "what to make of this memoir after all this time."</p><p>"I have a daughter who's really important to me," Galeotti Jr. said. Trees are sucking up just as much, if not more, methane than soil does — the only other known natural sink on Earth.</p><p>"We've been undervaluing trees for their climate benefits," Vincent Gauci, a professor at the University of Birmingham and the lead author of the study, told Business Insider. "This is a new nature-based climate solution."</p><p>Both natural and human-made methane emissions from wetlands, cows, landfills, and burning fossil fuels are on the rise. The gas has 80 times the warming power of carbon dioxide over two decades, which is why climate scientists say one of the fastest ways to slow global warming is cutting methane emissions and harnessing natural ways to remove it from the atmosphere.</p><p>While trees' ability to breathe in carbon dioxide and pump oxygen back out is well understood, their relationship to methane is more complex. Gauci said he was surprised by the findings, which were pieced together over a decade by a team of international researchers measuring methane from trees in countries including Brazil, Peru, Panama, the UK, and Sweden.</p><p>In <a target="_blank" href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29211724/">a 2017 study</a>, they found that trees in Amazon floodplains emitted more methane than they absorbed. "What we found is that at the bottom-most meter of the tree, they do give off a little bit of methane. But the situation switches when you go up the trunk. We measured 2, 5, and 11 meters above the forest floor."</p><p>Tropical trees absorbed the most methane, probably because their methane-eating microbes thrive in warm conditions. But on average, trees' woody surface makes them about 10% more climate-beneficial than previously thought, the researchers found.</p><p>Gauci noted that there are far more upland forests than wetland forests. To estimate the full scope of climate benefits, his team had to quantify the surface area of all the tree bark in the world for the first time. They used "terrestrial laser scanners" that detect 3D tree structures.</p><p>If all the tree bark in the world were laid flat, it would cover Earth's land surface, the study found. And it may be removing between 25 million tons and 50 million tons of methane from the atmosphere, the researchers calculated. At that higher level, trees could be removing a couple times as much methane than what's released by Arctic permafrost that's melting, Gauci said.</p><p>He added that the findings helped close a discrepancy in the global methane budget. Satellites detect lower methane emissions than what scientists have found on the ground, implying that such "bottom-up" studies either overestimated methane emissions or missed a sink.</p><p>"Tree woody surfaces add a third dimension to the way life on Earth interacts with the atmosphere, and this third dimension is teeming with life, and with surprises," Yadvinder Malhi, a University of Oxford professor and coauthor of the study, said.</p>
