Best NVIDIA G-SYNC monitors in India

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Antonio Villas-Boas/Tech Insider</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>Move over 1080p; the latest crop of graphics cards from NVidia can play games in 4K at very high settings, making it seem worthwhile to check out 4K monitors to enjoy games in eye-watering high resolution.</p><p>However, despite the immense power of NVidia's graphics cards like the GTX 1080, it's still not worth buying a 4K monitor for gaming, at least not yet. Here's why:</p><h2>Pricey monitors</h2><p>I am the proud owner of a GTX 1080, and I've been playing games like "Battlefield 4," "Titanfall," and "The Division" on a 4K monitor from Acer called the Predator XB321HK for a few weeks. The Predator monitor also has NVidia's G-Sync technology, which makes for super-smooth gameplay.</p><p>After a few weeks of 4K gaming, I went back to my paltry $150 1080p monitor to see how much of a difference gaming in 4K made.</p><p>Unfortunately, it really didn't feel that much better: I had just as much fun using the cheap 1080p monitor as I did on the 4K Predator with all the bells and whistles. I didn't play any better and I didn't see my enemies faster or further away as I did with my 1080p monitor.</p><p>Don't get me wrong. The Predator is a beautiful monitor, and playing games in 4K resolution with the Acer Predator monitor is fantastic. However, it also costs $1,200, largely due to the fact that it's a huge 32-inch 4K monitor, and the G-Sync technology itself adds a sizable premium to the price tag. </p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Antonio Villas-Boas/Tech Insider</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Yet, I'd feel a little disappointed that I spent over $1,000 on a monitor and didn't have noticeably more fun or an obvious advantage. The cost of a 4K gaming monitor relative to the satisfaction and benefit it provided simply didn't match.</p><p>By the way, this isn't specific to the Acer Predator, as I'd feel the same way with any 4K G-Sync monitor from any company.</p><p>I must say, however, that NVidia's G-Sync technology does make a difference for smoother gameplay. I did notice that gameplay on my 1080p monitor without G-Sync wasn't quite as smooth. Those with costly gaming computer and a powerful graphics card may find it worthwhile to invest in a G-Sync monitor. </p><p>Of course, the Acer Predator I've been using is a premium monitor that's at the top-end of the price range, and you <em>can </em>find less expensive 4K monitors out there that will do a great job. But even if you can find a relatively inexpensive 4K monitor, there's one more thing that's holding back the 4K gaming revolution. </p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Antonio Villas-Boas/Tech Insider</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><h2>Upgrading more often.</h2><p>Despite its sheer power, playing games in 4K still stretches the $600 GTX 1080's capabilities. For example, I can play an extremely taxing game like "The Division" in 4K with all graphics settings set to "Ultra" at around 30-40 frames-per-second (fps).</p><p>That's totally fine...for now. Three or so years down the line when game developers add even more insane amounts of detail and effects to games, that frame rate is going to drop to the point where gameplay will become choppy and unenjoyable to play.</p><p>The solution? Buy a new high-end graphics card every time games start getting choppy at 4K. However, that means dropping several hundreds of Dollars every few years, which may be more often than your budget can handle. </p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>EVGA</span></p><p class="caption">One of the GTX 1080 models from EVGA, which cost upwards of $600.</p></div><p></p></div></div>The more realistic and economic solution would be to play games at a lower resolution, like 1080p or 1440p, where the GTX 1080 will still be able to handle games with all the settings set to "Ultra" for many, many years to come.</p><p>You might say that the GTX 1080 graphics card is overkill for playing games at "mere" 1080p or 1440p. However, as I mentioned above, it's no less fun to play games at lower resolutions. Plus, it means I don't need to spend a ton of money every few years on a new graphics card.</p><p>Basically, it's worth buying graphics cards that are overkill for lower resolutions rather than a card that can just about handle 4K today.</p><h2>When will it be worth to buy a 4K monitor for gaming?</h2><p>When graphics card become so powerful that you can say they're overkill for 4K. Then, at least, you'll be able to play future games in 4K several years down the line instead of buying a new one every few years. </p><p>Of course, you could wait for the <a href="http://www.techinsider.io/new-playstation-4-and-xbox-one-need-4k-tvs-2016-6">updated XBox One or PS4</a>, which will supposedly support 4K if you're <em>desperate </em>to get the 4K experience. As a PC gamer myself, I walked away from the experience feeling like my fancy 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor at home that I was previously so proud of was actually small, pitiful, and completely inadequate.</p><h2>These monitors offer an unbelievable gaming experience</h2><p>The monitors, which Nvidia dubs BFGDs for big format gaming displays, include three notable gaming features: a fast 120-hertz refresh rate that promises smooth gameplay; Nvidia's G-Sync technology, which synchronizes the monitor's refresh rate and that of the games you're playing; and ultra-low latency, so that what you do on your controller, keyboard, or mouse is reflected nearly instantaneously on the screen.</p><p>The monitors' combination of giant screens and these features makes for an impressive experience. With the smooth gameplay they offer and their incredible responsiveness, the monitors perform just like the best standard gaming displays. But their large size allows them to offer a cinematic feel.</p><p>And what they display is really amazing. Thanks to their support for HDR, colors pop. Meanwhile, images actually appear to be sharper than 4K. Because everything on their screens is bigger, you can see more detail than you could on smaller monitors with the same resolution. The game I demoed on one of the monitors - "Destiny 2" - looked beautiful.</p><p>Any gamer who tried out one of these monitors would be thrilled with the experience and would want one immediately.</p><p>That is, if he or she can first figure out where to put it. </p><h2>But don't expect one to replace your desktop monitor</h2><p>Simply put, a 65-inch monitor can't fit on your average computer desk. Even if you could get it to work on your particular desk, it would almost certainly be a bad experience. You'd likely be sitting so close to such a large screen that you'd end up seeing less than you would with a standard, smaller monitor.</p><p>To be able to keep track of everything happening on all areas of the screen on one of these jumbo monitors, you'd have to shift your eyes and even move your head around a lot - things no gamer wants to do, particularly during long and intense gaming sessions or when it's important to react quickly to on-screen action. </p><p>Instead of sitting on a desk right in front of a user, the BFGDs are designed to be viewed at a distance. They're ideal for gamers who prefer to play in their living rooms from the comfort of their couches.</p><p>In fact, the new monitors could potentially replace your living room TV. They offer a picture quality that's just as good as a top LCD television. And thanks to their built-in Shield, which supports many common entertainment apps, you can easily stream videos or music to them.</p><p>The only people for whom the BFGD monitors wouldn't represent a good replacement or upgrade over their current TVs are those with OLED televisions in their living rooms. The Nvidia monitors' LCD displays don't quite match up to the gorgeous pictures offered by those pricey sets. </p><p>But you don't necessarily have to put one of these monitors on an entertainment console in your living room. The main reason: They're bound to be expensive.</p><p>Nvidia and it's partners haven't announced prices for yet, but you get a rough idea of what they might cost by looking at the price of somewhat comparable devices. You can get a fantastic 65-inch 4K HDR TV for less than $850 - the price of a smartphone these days. But the features that will be built into the BFGDs, including G-Sync, will likely add hundreds of dollars to that price.</p><p>Likewise, 4K gaming monitors with features similar to the BFGDs, but with screens of around 30 inches or so, can cost more than $800. Ones with much bigger screens will likely be dramatically more expensive. We'll have to wait and see.</p><p>Still, these BFGD monitors aren't designed for casual gamers. They're intended for the kinds of enthusiasts who already have a $1,500 gaming PC that's capable of displaying games at 4K resolutions at high frame rates, and who are willing to spend an extra large chunk of cash on a display that will take full advantage of such capabilities.</p><p>For myself, I'd love to have one of Nvidia's giant gaming monitors in my living room - or perhaps set far back on my desk. How to choose the right gaming monitor

That leads to a vaporware, but sometimes the stranger things can be fun.<p>Case in point: Project Valerie, a new concept laptop from gaming hardware company Razer has three built-in screens. Three screens!</p><p>They aren't cheap screens, either: Each are huge 17-inch panels, loaded up with overly sharp 4K resolutions and Nvidia's G-Sync tech for smoother frame rates while gaming.</p><p>Razer has no current plans to make this available to the public, and it doesn't know how much the device would cost if it ever did&#xa0;move beyond the concept stage, so any talk about specs is a bit beside the point.</p><p>But for what it's showing off in Las Vegas this week, Razer has modified the already-powerful Razer Blade Pro - what with its mechanical keyboard, and top-of-the-line GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card - made it heavier (around 12 pounds) and twice as thick (about 1.5 inches), and built in a mechanism that lets you slide out and snap back the two additional displays from behind the central one.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>I was able to use a rough prototype of Project Valerie for a (controlled) demo this week, and I can confirm that the whole thing is as jarring as it looks. That said, it works. The, ahem, battlefield of a game like "Battlefield 4" extended beyond my field of vision when looking at Valerie straight on, but it did make it easy to see what's going on from way off in the distance.<p>That's a good start, but Razer says any finished product like this would use software to automates the slide-out mechanism and let you angle the displays as needed. Anything pushing this many pixels would likely need more than a single GTX 1080 card to run comfortably, though what I saw stayed relatively free of&#xa0;awkwardness.&#xa0;</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Beyond being a feat of engineering, the idea of a multi-monitor laptop does make some sense the more you use it. Many people, myself included, can't work or game without multiple monitors, then find it annoying to lose that convenience on the road. Having that option available - free of cables, and with the ability to slide it back to a "normal" laptop when needed - has appeal, even if it looks ridiculous.<p>Still, yes, it's hard to get past that ridiculousness. Razer says that it's focusing on the power user and gaming enthusiast market for now, but that it's possible that it could translate the display setup to a more portable chassis sometime down the road. It also says that it could make it so you could only slide out one display at a time, which would seem&#xa0;a little more practical for anything outside of gaming.</p><p>None of this gets around the fact that this thing would likely be super expensive and have terrible battery life - the Blade Pro starts at $3,700 and lasts about 3-4 hours with one display, let alone three. It'd also have a hard time staying cool or quiet, to put it mildly. But for now, Project Valerie as a concept is both intriguing and comically absurd. However, the extra screen estate in your peripheral vision helps for gaming and productivity, and the Vast captures that essence perfectly. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It's a 4K monitor, but it doesn't have quite as many pixels as a 4K monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Using the same corner-to-corner measuring method, ultrawides are wider, but shorter than their 16:9 counterparts. All you have to do is set the monitor on its face and screw in the the stand to the VESA mount. The spring-actuated height adjustment of the stand - where a spring in the stand helps move the display up and down - will fight against gravity, though, and it kicked me like a horse while setting up and moving the display. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The stand is something of a marvel for what you're paying. While there's no swivel, the stand allows 4.3 inches of spring-actuated height adjustment, 20 degrees of tilt, and a full 90 degrees of pivot. Despite its massive size, the Vast can be turned sideways for use as a second monitor or just to dig deeper into Reddit.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As far as connecting the monitor, there aren't many options, but that's only relevant for those looking for multiple displays. You have the option of three HDMI ports (one v2.0 and two v1.4) and a DisplayPort v1.2 port. While researching a piece, I can use half the display to have my findings open while the other half holds my notes or research documents. The Vast makes you feel spoiled when it comes to productivity. YouTube, for example, will still attempt to display content in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The soft-touch finish ensures that the laptop is protected from fingerprint smudges and dust.<br /><br />While a lot of premium gaming laptops these days are trying to blend in with minimalistic designs, the Legion 9i isn’t imitating this trend. The laptop is available with 32GB LPDDR5 6400 MHz RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD.<br /><br />The graphic duties are handled by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 16GB GDDR6 graphics.<br /><br />I tested the laptop with several games, including games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Starfield. Both the games performed well and the laptop was able to handle them without any issues. The laptop was able to handle these games without any issues while playing at maximum settings. Considering the hardware, you will be able to handle everything that you throw at it.<br /><br />The laptop’s cooling technology can keep the device cool during extended gaming sessions so you don’t have to worry about performance throttling.<br /><br />The laptop is equipped with a 99.9 Wh battery and offers a decent battery life.
