Mumbai, D'chica's, a brand that curates puberty-essential products tailored specifically to the needs and preferences of teen girls, has bagged a deal of Rs 80 lakhs with <keyword id="20292047" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="namita-thapar" source="keywords">Namita Thapar</keyword> and Vineeta Singh on the new episode of '<keyword id="19913228" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shark-tank-india" source="keywords">Shark Tank India</keyword> 3'. <br /><br />In a bid to propel D'chica to new heights of success, its co-founders, Richa Kapila and <keyword id="20348209" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vani" source="keywords">Vani</keyword> Chugh from Delhi made a debut on the business reality show.<br /><br />From stylish bras and period panties to fashionable athleisure and footwear, the brand strives to empower young girls during their crucial teenage years with its meticulously crafted collection.<br /><br />Bound by both family ties as sisters-in-law and a shared passion for business, Richa and Vani, the founders of D'chica, embarked on a new entrepreneurial journey after facing setbacks with their previous venture focused on infants and toddlers.<br /><br />Despite the challenges that led to the closure of their initial business, the sisters-in-law remained undeterred. Instead, they embraced failure as a powerful teacher, drawing invaluable lessons from the experience.<br /><br />In 2019, they founded D'chica, a brand committed to celebrating the transition from adolescence to womanhood. They launched their first inner wear collection in 2020.<br /><br />Through their determination and hard work, Richa and Vani transformed D'chica into a brand that resonates with the Alpha and Gen Z generations.<br /><br />On the show, they asked for Rs 80 lakhs in exchange for one per cent equity.<br /><br />Amit Jain, CEO and co-founder of CarDekho Group, asked: "Do you do the manufacturing yourself or have you given a contract to someone for it?"<br /><br />Richa replied saying, "We currently have five manufacturing units which we operate out of."<br /><br />After seeing the products, <keyword id="20380308" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="namita" source="keywords">Namita</keyword> Thapar, executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd, said: "Dr. Garima is a new angel (pointing to the packaging)."<br /><br />To which the founders replied: "Dr. Garima is a consulting gynaecologist with us. We have onboarded a gynaecologist whom customers can reach out to for guidance. Walking down the streets of various cities and towns in Europe recently, I discovered the different way in which people in this part of the world live their lives.<br />
<br /> From Paris, Engelberg to Vaduz and <keyword id="6356059" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rome">Rome</keyword>, every place offered me, rather us (the people I was touring the place with) something new to learn from the day-to-day lives of people here. Several things I spotted had me thinking ‘Why don’t we do this or have this in India. It’s just great’.<br />
 <br />
So, if you are an Indian travelling to Europe, just like me, these things will definitely strike you somewhere or the other during your trip. It's good to know them beforehand: <br />

<strong>Jogging is a way of life</strong><br />
Whether it’s morning, evening or night, People from Paris to Rome love jogging. Wearing their fancy sports gear and sturdy shoes, they are often seen running with their spouses or alone. Sometimes also with children on their shoulders or in prams because they don’t to leave them behind!! And on off days, you can see the entire city out on the streets or in the parks.<br />

<strong>Europeans are fashionistas</strong><br />
<br />
It’s not only the boutiques here, but Paris streets provide the ultimate dose in high-end fashion. Everyone from teenagers, working professionals, housewives to grannies, is so fashionable you won’t want to take your eyes off them. If you are travelling to Europe, your fashion wardrobe should in place. It’s a MUST!<br />

<strong>Traffic rules are worshipped and there’s respect for each other</strong><br />

India has zebra crossings, but no one really cares. In Europe, value of human life is more than anything else. If you want to cross the road and there are no traffic lights at the crossing, you can close your eyes and cross the road because the car coming your way will definitely stop. They worship traffic rules and respect human life. Also, if you are crossing a road where there are traffic lights for pedestrians, locals follow that and walk across only when it’s green signal for them. Another thing to notice is drivers maintain distance from each other. I came across a major jam in Paris on the other side of the road for about 5 kms but everyone was at a distance from each other, and there was absolutely no honking!<br />

<strong>Kids learning to walk are also independent</strong><br />
<br />
Kids here are taught to be independent from the age they can start walking. They are given their own bags with things they may need like little bites, water, jacket, nappies etc. Even while walking with parents, you will hardly see toddlers holding their parents’ hands. Moreover, children up to 8-9 years’ old are seen using the public transport alone.<br />

<strong>Vacations mean Adventure Sports</strong><br />
<br /> Everyone loves adventure in Europe. In their daily lives you may see them with their skater-boards. Come vacations and off they are with their families for skiing in the mountains. While I was travelling by road from Paris to <keyword id="103" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Switzerland">Switzerland</keyword>, I saw a massive lake and in the middle was a family of four rowing a boat. Also river rafting down high-speed streams, cycling or jogging in the Swiss Alps are major time-pass activities people love here. The ones who do not want to indulge in sports activities take their vans to the forests for hunting and spending time close to nature.<br />

<strong>Beer is cheaper than water</strong><br />
<br />
The fact that more people here are alcoholics is because several places in Europe has beer cheaper than wine. While a glass of beer may come for a Euro or two, a bottle of water would cost at least 5 Euros.<br />

<strong>Europe thrives on its Café culture</strong><br />

A nice, serene evening is spent sitting outside the beautiful cafes along the corner of several streets in Europe. Locals are seen savouring cheap beer with some pork or beef dishes or wine with pastas or pizzas.<br />

<strong>A stranger may greet you with a smile</strong><br />
<br />
Don't feel awkward if that happens! That happened to me in so many places. This one left an impression on me that people here are extremely welcoming. They may ask you out for a dance, or drinks or maybe a tango at River Seine. It's all fine! They often know you are from India, and would greet you like they are happy to see you in their country. I met a Canadian at Spanish Steps and she saw me struggling to click a few pics. With a smile on her face, she offered to click my pictures and we got talking. The conversation ended soon, but I left that place with a Canadian flag on my jersey :)<br />

You will run into several Indians in shops, cafes, monuments and other places</strong><br />

9 things that will definitely leave you spellbound in Europe if you are an Indian

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Courtesy of Daniel Moniz</span></p><p class="caption">Moniz, 22, with his largest captures - a nearly 14 foot python.</p></div><p></p></div></div>"That's a $1,000 snake," 22-year-old Daniel Moniz thought to himself as soon as he saw her.</p><p>Her being the 13-foot, 8.7-inch female Burmese python that would win him one of two top prizes at Florida's second "<a href="http://pythonchallenge.org/">Python Challenge</a>" last month. By the end of the competition, Moniz took home $1,000 for the longest snake captured by an individual plus another $3,500 for bringing in 13 pythons total, the most of any single person.</p><p>The competition, created by the <span>Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission</span> (FWC) to humanely capture and kill nonnative and invasive pythons, drew over 1,000 participants from 29 states to the Florida Everglades in February 2016. Often using their bare hands and pillowcases, participants wrestled and bagged 106 pythons, up from 68 in 2013, the last year the event took place.</p><p><span>As an invasive species - a plant, animal, or pathogen alien to an ecosystem whose introduction will likely cause harm, as the </span><a href="http://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/index.shtml">National Invasive Species Information Center</a><span> defines it - pythons pose a formidable threat to Florida's ecosystems. Since as early as the 1980s, the serpentine giants have encroached on the <span>Everglades, a national park and World Heritage Site, and preyed </span>on endangered species while competing with others. </span></p><h2><span>'Multiple shots at once'</span></h2><p>Born and raised in New Jersey, Moniz had never caught a python before traveling to Florida for this year's challenge.</p><p>"I thought, 'Hey, why not go?'" he told Business Insider with a chuckle. "I knew it would be fun. I didn't expect to win." </p><p>Worried about her son's safety, Moniz's mother asked his father to attend the competition with him. And it was Dad who initially spotted the "monster," as Moniz described his first-prize capture. The two had biked nearly 18 miles on a trail through the Everglades, when suddenly, Moniz's father started veering and nearly pushed Moniz off the path. </p><p>"I'm like, 'What are you doing, Dad?' In the process of the capture, Moniz was bitten in the face, neck, and arm, which felt like "getting multiple shots at once." While Burmese pythons aren't venomous, they have numerous tiny, sharp teeth.</p><p>Shockingly, Moniz' python wasn't the largest captured during the month-long challenge. Team members Bill Booth, Duane Clark, Dusty Crum, and Craig Nicks, also known as The Cypress Boys, caught a 15-footer, just one of the 33 pythons they claimed. The team took home a $3,000 prize for the largest python as well as $5,000, which went to the team that caught the most pythons.</p><p>The size and prevalence of these interlopers highlights the need for the competition as its most basic level: curtailing python population growth in the Everglades.</p><h2><span style="background-color: #ffffff;">America's largest subtropical wilderness</span></h2><p><span style="background-color: #ffffff;">As the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, the <a href="http://www.nps.gov/ever/index.htm">Everglades National Park</a> provides protected habitats for an array of marine and animal life, many of them endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and Florida panther.</span></p><p>The area is also strikingly similar, with regard to temperature and water and food sources, to the native habitat of Burmese pythons, which stretches from India to lower China and throughout the Malay peninsula, according to <span>FWC</span><span> spokesperson </span><span>Carli Segelson. </span></p><p><span>Although no reliable numbers exist, <a href="http://www.usgs.gov/faq/categories/9785/3262">experts estimate</a> that roughly tens of thousands of Burmese pythons roam the wilds of Florida. They prey upon medium-to-small reptiles, mammals, and birds as well as compete with other native predators for these food sources. Most notably, pythons feed on the Key Largo woodrat, an endangered species. </span></p><p><span><span>And other than humans and alligators,</span><span> pythons have few predators in the area.</span></span></p><p><span>"Whenever you have one species that's not part of the ecosystem, that could throw the whole system out of whack," Segelson told Business Insider. The mother's boyfriend, suspected of heavy drug use, found the toddler dead the next morning. In 2011, a<span> <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoIbIo7M3jc&amp;ebc=ANyPxKq-umptkPc6hthTCkb3xz82jT0AUnp8WSFBh5eSCpbZPFYYAGTwBIYvUpAtDiAj31wf2XvrVmTM0oiod8AxZFLHL648Ug">jury found the mother and her boyfriend guilty</a> of third-degree murder, manslaughter, and child abuse. </span></span></p><p><span><span>In 2010, likely propelled, at least in part, by the girl's death, the FWC labeled the Burmese python a "<a href="http://myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/nonnatives/regulations/snakes-and-lizards/">conditional</a>" species, meaning the snake can't be acquired for personal use. Then, in 2012, pythons were raised to an "<a href="https://www.fws.gov/verobeach/PythonPDF/Final%20Rule_Listing%203%20Python%20Species%20and%201%20Anaconda%20Species%20As%20Injurious_Jan%2023%202012.pdf">injurious</a>" species. Now, they can't be transported from state-to-state without a federal permit.</span></span></p><p><span><span>The python's invasion of the Everglades may, in fact, have begun with its allure as an exotic pet. Unable to care for the snakes - which can g<a href="http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/ReptilesAmphibians/Facts/FactSheets/Burmeserockpython.cfm">row as large as 22-feet and weigh as much as 200 pounds</a> - owners may have released them into the wild in Florida as early as 1979, <span>Segelson speculates.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span>"Which is illegal and obviously a bad thing to do not only for the environment but for the animal who is used to being cared for," she added. </span></span></p><p><span><span>As another theory goes, 1992's Hurricane Andrew destroyed a Florida facility used to breed pythons for the exotic pet trade. Naturally, the snakes escaped and started procreating in the wild.</span></span></p><h2><span style="background-color: #ffffff;">Recognizing the 'frailty of the earth'</span></h2><p><span><span>Despite the sense of adventure needed to capture a 13-plus-foot snake, these crucial conservation issues drew Moniz to the competition. </span></span></p><p><span><span>"You get a lot of people who want to catch a python with their bare hands because they think it's cool, but then about half of people want to help the Everglades and realize pythons are threatening the entire ecosystem there," he explained. From there, the FWC, in partnership with the University of Florida, humanely kills the pythons and conducts necropsies.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span>The event does have its skeptics, as <a href="http://business.time.com/2013/02/13/turns-out-you-wont-get-rich-hunting-pythons-in-floridas-swamps/">Time Magazine's Brad Tuttle</a> pointed out. <span>The </span><a href="http://www.miaminewtimes.com/2013-01-17/news/2013-python-challenge-few-reptiles-many-tv-crews/" target="_blank">Miami New Times</a> <span>described the first Python Challenge in 2013 as "an idea straight out of the hormone-addled mind of a 14-year-old who plays too many first-person shooters."</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>To</span><span> participate in the challenge this year, however, participants </span><span>were required to </span><span>complete </span><span>online training through the FWC and score at least an 80% on a quiz at the end. </span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>Aside from looking "cool," as Moniz described, participants might want to make some quick cash, too. One man, part of a father-daughter duo who competed in 2013, told the New Times: "I wanna make some money, man." His 18-year-old daughter gave a different reason: She wanted to see herself on Netflix.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>"I didn't do it for the money," Moniz said.
