Under the leadership of <keyword id="6354642" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Modi">Modi</keyword>, during his Chief Ministership, Gujarat has evolved as an investors’ delight. During 2003, when most states of India were riding the IT wave and struggling to find profitability, Modi was calling investors from all over the world and briefing them about ease of doing business in India’s west coast. And he actually did it. 
 Cut to 2017. The 8th edition of Vibrant Gujarat is taking place under a Chief Minister who is just a little more than five months into his job. The erstwhile Chief Minister <keyword id="4057401" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="anandbehen-patel">Anandbehen Patel</keyword> had failed in her job to appease Dalits, create more jobs and keep <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> president <keyword id="6355521" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amit-Shah">Amit Shah</keyword> convinced. As Gujarat’s ‘economic expressway’ (as they prefer calling the event) seems to zoom off, you can hear echoing whispers among a few industrialists at the event, how much of the proposed promises have actually been implemented. Gujarat, which topped the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in India has now lost it to <keyword id="37102" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Andhra-Pradesh">Andhra Pradesh</keyword> and Telengana. 
 
Experts believe, as Modi has become the Prime Minister, there have been instances of social unrest and political instability that came to the fore. And as the last business summit before the election is underway, investors’ minds are getting impacted. 
 
This edition of Vibrant Gujarat has seen MoUs touch Rs 20 lakh crores. The amount is likely to cross Rs 30 lakh croremark today, according to The Times of India. Among the sectors where companies expressed their intent to invest defence and aerospace, mining and minerals, chemicals, steel, urban infrastructure, petroleum and petrochemicals, renewable energy, automotive, electronics and information technology are noteworthy. 
 While the state government of Gujarat said that conversion rate is clocked at 70%, the opposition party <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> claimed the actual to be pegged at not more than 10%. However top business conglomerates <keyword id="4057400" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="reliance-and-adani-group">Reliance and Adani Group</keyword> said that they have fulfilled their promises. 
 To believe Gujarat’<keyword id="4057399" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="s-directorate-of-economics-and-statistics">s Directorate of Economics and Statistics</keyword>, about 8% have been implemented out of Rs 40 trillion proposed investments. Citing the Socio-Economic Review of Gujarat for 2015-16, The Mint had reported that 57% proposals made between 2003 and last year have been commissioned or implemented. 
 While Gujarat ranked fifth, Maharashtra that doesn’t organize any such summit has attracted the most FDIs, almost 30% of India’s total between 2002-2016, according to <keyword id="29740" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bloomberg">Bloomberg</keyword>. The same media report said, Gujarat is no longer the easiest place to do business any more. 
 However, Modi’s brain child Vibrant Gujarat has seen several other states including <keyword id="6357783" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="West-Bengal">West Bengal</keyword> and <keyword id="6355588" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rajasthan">Rajasthan</keyword> adapt the same concept and get investments. 
 The social unrest in India’s one of the most opulent states is rising. Only a few weeks back, Conveners of <keyword id="2983086" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Patidar-Anamat-Andolan-Samiti">Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti</keyword> (<keyword id="6406288" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="PaaS">PAAS</keyword>), <keyword id="45661" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="OBC">OBC</keyword> leaders and dalits have threatened to disrupt the summit, if fixed-pay and contractual employees were not made permanent by the state government. So a state, whose Minister of Industries, Mines and Minerals and <keyword id="25455" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="finance">Finance</keyword> department <keyword id="387325" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rohit-Patel">Rohit Patel</keyword> boasted of ‘minimum labour unrest’ during his speech seems to be getting distracted. 
 
Not just that. A few months ago, Gujarat has witnessed backlash against jobless economic growth that could jeopardise development and BJP’s coming back t power in 2019, reported Bloomberg. 
 
This season of Vibrant Gujarat seemed to be relying largely on the previous editions of success. Most state ministers thanked Modi immensely for this summit, while avoiding media question of how much implementation has happened. What they offered are figures of investments and not facts about implementation.

Around 28% of survey respondents indicated their plans of starting their own businesses; the percentage was 19 five years ago. 
 The study further showed that more than half the prospective students (52%) sought to study outside their country of citizenship, up from 40% in 2010. The ET report reads, this growing preference for international study is most notable among citizens of Asia-Pacific (94% in 2014, up from 88% in 2010) and the Middle East (72% in 2014 vs 58% in 2010). The top 10 preferred study destinations are the US, UK, Canada, France, India, Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore, the Netherlands and <keyword id="6355478" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Australia">Australia</keyword>. While 53% Indians preferred studying in the US, 21% and 7% showed inclination towards India and the UK, respectively. The US remains the top international study destination for two two-thirds of prospective students across the globe; however, this is a decrease from 73% in 2010. 
 
Among the other top locations, 6% wanted to study in the UK, 5% in Canada, 3% each in France and India, 1% in Australia, and 2% each in Hong Kong, Germany, Singapore, and the Netherlands.

Almost half (44%) of the adults surveyed in India reportedly said that the dating apps have emerged as a platform helping transgenders to express freely. In fact, a significant part of the people surveyed (39%) also said that it has helped them introspect their own personalities. A lot of LGBTQ adults have been using the apps that have sexual orientation mechanism. Looking at the statistics derived from the data, the company reportedly said that “Of the 73% people who say online dating apps have had a positive impact, 33% say it has provided more diversity of people to date in terms of sexual orientation, 33% say it has provided more diversity of people to date in terms of race and culture.” Owing to the stigma of the Indian society, the transgender community had faced deiscrimination on all fronts — including their relationship status. For the LGBTQ community in India, online dating platforms are helping break down  stigmas

Other common passwords people use in India are "iloveyou", "krishna", "sairam" and "omsairam", among others. According to new research by NordPass which is a proprietary password manager, predictable numerical and keyboard sequences are particularly popular in India. "Passwords such as 12345 and variations of qwerty were ranked high up in the lists. Worldwide, these combinations are also quite popular, as well as localised versions of qwerty (for example, aazerty' in French speaking countries)," the research showed. Names and loving words were rather popular in India both among men and women. Some other common passwords in India are 123456789, 12345678, india123, qwerty, abc123, xxx, Indya123, 1qaz@WSX, 123123, abcd1234 and 1qaz. Overall, the Indian password list has similar trends as many countries, but also has its differences. India is one of only a few countries that has a different number one password -- 'password', whereas 43 out of 50 analysed countries had '123456' as the number one password. "Qwerty" and its variations are particularly popular in India. "In addition to that, other letter combinations, formed by hitting the keyboard in vertical or horizontal order are very popular," the research noted. Names are also very popular among both men and women, for example, "priyanka", "sanjay", "rakesh" and others. Loving words in English are also quite common, particularly among women, for example "iloveyou", "sweetheart", "lovely", "sunshine", and more. The research also illustrated how weak the top passwords, are indicating the time it would take the hacker to crack that password. "Overall, in India, 62 passwords out of the 200 can be cracked in less than a second. That's 31 per cent whereas globally, the percentage is 84.5 per cent. "Unfortunately, the passwords keep getting weaker and people still don't maintain proper password hygiene," says Jonas Karklys, CEO of NordPass. "It's important to understand that passwords are the gateway to our digital lives, and with us spending more and more time online, it's becoming enormously important to take better care of our cybersecurity," Karklys added. If you found your password on the list, make sure to change it to a unique and strong password. Ideally, use a password generator online or in your password manager app to create a truly complex one. "Nowadays, an average person has around 100 accounts, therefore, it would be impossible to remember all the passwords if they are indeed unique and complex. Password managers are a great solution for that," the research noted. Whether it's biometric authentication, phone message, or a physical key, it's always a good idea to add an additional security layer on top of your password, it added. India's most popular password is 'password', same as Japan

A recent <a href="https://www.cmie.com/kommon/bin/sr.php?kall=warticle&amp;dt=2019-03-19%2009:46:12&amp;msec=486">analysis </a>by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has shown that the rate of unemployment among qualified youth — those with bachelor degrees and higher — has seen a sharp increase from mid 2017. The report has highlighted that the unemployment rate for the given group was projected at 13.2% during September - December period in 2018. While in 2017, the number stood at 12.1% for the qualified Indians. The highly educated set of individuals — those with bachelor’s degrees and above — faced the <a href="https://www.businesstoday.in/current/economy-politics/unemployment-rate-among-graduates-touched-13pct-during-sep-dec-2018-cmie/story/329572.html">maximum unemployment </a>while the students who passed high school stood at 10.6%, in terms of unemployment numbers. The CMIE’s Consumer Pyramids Household Survey bifurcated the unemployment numbers according to the levels of education. People who have completed a bachelor’s degree or any other higher level of education account for only 10% of the working age population of India. While over 100 million had a bachelor’s degree or higher as of 2018. Out of these, nearly 53 million of those were employed. While eight million were looking for jobs. Post graduates (master’s or higher) in India have been facing the biggest challenge to fetch jobs. The unemployment rate among those with a master’s degree is twice the unemployment among the entire labour force, according to the report. India has a labour participation rate of 61% — for the graduation and above group, which was below 60% mark, a year ago. Labour participation rate is the number of employed people or the ones seeking employment. Unemployment among women While the overall labour participation rate — employed and seeking jobs — in the country has improved from the past few years, the female participation was still significantly low at 11.1% during September-December 2018. However, for the females with higher educational qualifications, the numbers hit 22.6%, which is more than twice compared to the average female participation. Unemployment rate among women in this segment stood at 35% during the same period. In contrast, the rate of unemployment for men stood at 10%. <keyword id="6363690" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="strategy">Strategy</keyword> is among the most commonly misused and confused terms in <keyword id="13778" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Management">management</keyword>. Many a time, big jargons are used even without understanding the meaning by many people in the business world. 
 
In a 2013 study of 100 CEOs, based in India of both Indian and foreign companies, by the author of this article, one of the key problems identified at firm level is that many times there is confusion about what is the strategy and either it is not well spelled out or not shared or not understood at various levels of the firm. 
 
The second problem identified in the same study is poor execution, which in part comes from the first problem as many times people at various levels are not clear or aware of the strategy itself.

New Delhi: India is set to enter a transformative "smartphone era" for cars in 2025, with the introduction of vehicles featuring 5G M2M connectivity and advanced AI technologies, according to the latest findings from Techarc's India Connected Consumer Report 2025. The report said the automotive sector will skip 4G and will enable connectivity using the latest 5G cellular technology. It observed that consumers are interested in spending money on improving the value proposition in terms of features, quality and experience rather than exploring too many smart devices. "22 per cent of the respondents shared about considering optimising their smart devices portfolio. Among the new set of categories, smart/connected cars is generating high interest among consumers. 55 per cent of the respondents said that they have come across news or information about smart/connected cars in recent times," it said. Starting in 2025, passenger cars in India will be equipped with 5G M2M connectivity, on-device GenAI, and cloud connectivity, making advanced technologies accessible across various price segments, it added. In-vehicle computing and artificial intelligence (GenAI), along with cloud applications, will become essential components of cars, enabling real-time data processing to support drivers effectively. Most cars priced at Rs 20 lakh and above will feature these technologies as standard. The cumulative revenues from automotive chipset companies have already surpassed USD 1.5 billion, with companies like Qualcomm and MediaTek leading the market. Some of the familiar applications that consumers will be able to use while driving include communication apps for audio/video conferencing, OTT entertainment apps, music streaming, podcasts, online shopping, vehicle maintenance, and servicing. "With connectivity and the technologies it brings to the cars, the future of the automobile sector will be fundamentally determined by the auto-technologies that will influence the overall experience, performance, comfort, safety and entertainment available to the drivers as well as the passengers. "So far, such features were seen as luxury or high-end experiences. But starting 2025, many of these will become mainstream for cars in India," Techarc AutoTech Analyst Sadat Ahanger said. With 22 automobile manufacturers producing nearly 5 million passenger vehicles annually in India, the country is poised to become a leader in the global 5G M2M market within the next few years, the report said. About 21 per cent of respondents said MG Motors is the leader in providing <keyword id="24016739" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="connected-cars-in-India" source="keywords">connected cars in India</keyword>, followed closely by Kia Motors at 18 per cent and Tata Motors at 15 per cent, it added. Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki also ranked among the top-five brands in this category. The report draws insights from a survey of 4,500 "connected consumers" across metro and non-metro cities. The report defined a connected consumer as one owning at least 3 smart devices in addition to a smartphone.
