The tennis star also split from three coaches since her victory at Flushing Meadows.</p><p>Heading into Wimbledon, speculation has been rife about the teenager and her future.</p><p><a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/tennis/article-10952441/Emma-Raducanu-throws-shots-without-problems-ahead-Wimbledon-opener.html">The Daily Mail reported</a> Saturday that Raducanu could soon take a break from tennis to enroll at Cambridge University to study economics, while on Friday, <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0cgv502">Raducanu's agent was forced to deny</a> that her poor form had come as a result of her being distracted by "commercial interests."</p><p>Raducanu <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsRahgIkpe8&amp;feature=youtu.be">recently signed a four-year partnership with HSBC</a> and is also a brand ambassador for Evian, Tiffany, and Nike, among others. </p><p>Henman, 47, who was British number one for more than six years, knows all about the media attention that comes with being in the top spot.</p><p>Speaking with Insider, he shared his advice as to how Raducanu can cope over the next two weeks. </p><p>"She's really got to focus on the things that she can control," said Henman, who made it to the semifinals of Wimbledon four times.</p><p>"What's been said on television, written in the newspapers, obviously, we didn't have social media back in the day, but those are all things that she can't control. So why worry about them?</p><p>"When you think about the things that you can control as an athlete, it's preparation and performance. During my career, I always felt that I just wanted to just concentrate on my practice, my training, and the matches themselves. Everything else I couldn't control, so I didn't worry about it."</p><div type="image" title="Tim Henman." height="1334" width="2000" msid="92469493" hostid="261" sizebytes="140162"></div><p>Since winning the US Open in September, Raducanu has struggled with a variety of different injuries that have seen her withdraw from several tour-level competitions.</p><p>In February, she pulled out of the Guadalajara Open with a hip injury before doing the same at May's Italian Open due to a back strain.</p><p>This month, she also withdrew from both the Birmingham Classic and Eastbourne International after being hurt at the Nottingham Open, leading to speculation that she may not be fit to play at Wimbledon and concerns about her resilience to compete at the top level. </p><p>Henman, however, has urged people to be patient with the teenager as she becomes accustomed to the physical demands of the tour. </p><p>"What Emma has achieved in the last 12 months is incredible," he said. "I think the challenge that everybody has in tennis is that there are three elements. There's the technical side, there's the mental side, and there's the physical side.</p><p>"And for me, she's an unbelievable tennis player – you can't achieve what she has without being a brilliant player. And the mentality side, the way she has been able to compete and play at the highest level has been so impressive.</p><p>"But the physical side, she needs time to build that resilience and the robustness. And she just hasn't had that. And that's the reason why she's had these niggling injuries that have set her back at different times."</p><p>Henman added: "A word that I often use around Emma is patience. Unfortunately, in the world that we live in people are not patient.</p><p>"They've seen her capabilities and they want that every day of the week, but that's not reality. She's just got to keep working hard and enjoy the process. It was even <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/48837343" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed on Tuesday that Serena Williams will join him</a> in the mixed doubles bracket.</p><p>HSBC ambassador Henman, himself a Wimbledon staple during a two-decade-long career, told Business Insider ahead of the tournament that "the media are too quick to write people off because in 99% of cases, the media don't even know the actual problems that players are dealing with. It's a private matter."</p><p>Murray sparked plenty of columns when<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAiYCFKGMKg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">, fighting back tears, he addressed the press</a> at the Australian Open in January, saying he'd like to play until Wimbledon but was unsure he'd physically be able to do so.</p><blockquote class="pullquote">It was at Wimbledon in 2017 when he was in so much pain, managing to get to the quarterfinals pretty much on one leg … the proceeding 18 months were difficult to watch.</blockquote><p>He said he needed hip surgery, despite having already had surgery for the recurring issue the previous year.</p><p>The game, for him, looked over.</p><p>Publications around the world looked at what would be next for Murray, with the BBC asking <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46863214" target="_blank" rel="noopener">what he could be worth in retirement</a>.</p><p>Murray, though, had stopped short of saying he was actually retired. He <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tennis/2019/01/29/andy-murray-undergoes-hip-resurfacing-surgery-london/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">underwent hip resurfacing on January 29,</a> and the professor who invented the procedure said in February that Murray's chances of playing competitive tennis again should be <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/andy-murray-should-be-able-to-play-at-wimbledon-says-hip-expert-f9r70rbvp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">"in the high 90%."</a> In March, Murray was pain-free.</p><p>Henman marvels at the Scotsman's journey. "It's been amazing when you reflect over a two year period," he told Business Insider. "It was at Wimbledon in 2017 when he was in so much pain, managing to get to the quarterfinals pretty much on one leg, losing to Sam Querrey in five sets.</p><p>"The proceeding 18 months were difficult to watch because he was working so hard doing different types of rehabilitation on his hip, but it wasn't working. "He was able to enjoy himself and there wasn't the same pain. Obviously he's still got a long way to go in terms of building up his strength, speed, and his movement, but at least there's an opportunity ahead of him."</p><p>Murray has only played in two doubles tournaments since his last singles appearance at the Australian Open - but he won one of them, the Queen's Club Championships.</p><p>"Andy comes out first tournament back and wins at Queens … it's pretty impressive having not played a doubles tournament for two years, but the challenge is going to be even greater getting back on the singles court," Henman said. "He's incredibly motivated though, and working hard. "I didn't know how to handle it, because I don't have it often.</p><p>"I don't really know why it happened, because I was leading the match. I was playing well. But it just happened, and I lost it. I couldn't focus.</p><p>"After the match it was pretty tough. But now I'm good. I'm recovered, and I will learn from this episode. It was nothing dangerous, in my opinion, but it happened. So it's good that now I can smile."</p><p>Asked why she thinks it happened, the two-time Grand Slam winner and former world No. 1 said that she "probably" put too much pressure on herself.</p><p>"It's just a <keyword id="11897437" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="tennis" source="Orion">tennis</keyword> match so I have to be a little bit more relaxed," she said. <ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="11994967" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="novak-djokovic" source="Orion">Novak Djokovic</keyword> was so overcome with emotion during his US Open final defeat that he cried during play.</li><li>The Serbian lost to Daniil Medvedev on Sunday, ending his hopes of winning all four Grand Slams in a year.</li><li>As the match reached its climax, Djokovic burst into tears as fans chanted his name.</li></ul><p>Novak Djokovic was so overcome with emotion during his US Open final defeat to Daniil Medvedev on Sunday that he was in tears during play.</p><p>The Serbian, who was aiming to win his fourth major of the calendar year, was beaten 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 by Medvedev, who claimed his first ever Grand Slam title. </p><p>Had Djokovic had won, he would have become the first male player since Rod Laver in 1969 to win the Australian, French, US Open and Wimbledon titles in a single year.</p><p>It would have also seen him win a 21st career Grand Slam - more than any other male player in history. </p><p>After holding his serve to bring the score to 5-4 to Medvedev in the final set, the crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium began to chant his nickname, "Nole, Nole, Nole."</p><p>The 34-year-old was unable to contain his emotions at the outpouring of support, beating his chest and crying into his towel as he waited for the changeover.</p><p>As he returned to the court for Medvedev's final service game, Djokovic remained visibly upset, his eyes red and filled with tears.</p><p>"We talked about the emotional energy, and I think it all just came spilling out," Amazon Prime Video commentator Tim Henman said.</p><p>"This match has been tough enough. I did not expect anything, but the amount of support and energy and love I got from the crowd was something that I'll remember forever.</p><p>"That's the reason on the changeover I just teared up. The emotion, the energy was so strong. It's as strong as winning 21 grand slams. That's how I felt, honestly. I felt very, very special. Novak Djokovic was so overcome with emotion in his US Open final loss that he started crying while still playing

But his frustrations are misplaced.</p><p>That is according to the four-time Wimbledon semifinalist and HSBC ambassador Tim Henman, who told Business Insider recently that "it's not about respect or disrespect. It's a grass court formula."</p><p>The formula studies performances on grass courts in recent years and uses that analysis to trump ATP rankings. Nadal was annoyed this formula pushed him down into a third seed, while elevating world number three Roger Federer into second.</p><p>This meant that by the time Friday's draw for the men's singles had been announced, Nadal had a tough run to the final having to potentially find a way past the likes of the unpredictable Nick Kyrgios, the Next-Gen talent Denis Shapovalov, and 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic, before a possible semifinal showdown against Federer.</p><p>"Wimbledon is the only tournament of the year that does it like this," <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rafael-nadal-disrespected-wimbledon-seeded-roger-federer-above-him-2019-6?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nadal told the Spanish television channel Movistar</a> at the time.</p><p>As Federer won the Halle Open last month, it bolstered his position in Wimbledon's grass-only algorithm. But Nadal said this overlooked players who had been in-form elsewhere in the season, whether clay, hardcourt, or playing indoors.</p><p>"There have been many occasions when players have played well all year on all surfaces but Wimbledon does not respect the ranking they have earned. It's not about respect or disrespect," he added. Wimbledon's seeding is not disrespectful - here's why</a></em></p><p>The Eurosport tennis commentator Miguel Seabra said on Twitter that he and Kyrgios "had a toast" together at the pub, adding that the athlete was "completely relaxed, laughing with friends, chatting with girls, drinking."</p><p>Earlier this week, Kyrgios had said that the chances of him sharing a beer at the pub with Nadal were slim, as he doesn't know his rival all too well.</p><p>"Not sure that me and Rafa could go down to the Dog and Fox and have a beer together," he reportedly said, <a href="https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/tennis/nick-kyrgios-hits-wellknown-wimbledon-pub-hours-before-taking-on-rafael-nadal/news-story/f37a5a35fdd96f561f658ebd0a580c63" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the Australian newspaper The Herald Sun</a>. "I don't know him at all. I know him as a tennis player."</p><p>Stuart Fraser, tennis correspondent for The Times, said Kyrgios was still at the bar even after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, with "no sign of Nadal for that beer."</p><p>Kyrgios is one of the most complex characters in tennis. If you remove the theatrics, there are few more talented players outside of the "big three" of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Nadal.</p><p>However, Kyrgios is prone to mental lapses. Shortly after he obliterated the next-gen talent Daniil Medvedev in the first round of the Italian Open in May, he unravelled against Carlos Ruud in the very next match. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/nick-kyrgios-out-of-italian-open-after-throwing-chair-onto-court-2019-5?r=US&amp;IR=T" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kyrgios threw his chair onto the court, packed his bag, and walked off in the middle of the match</a>, disqualifying himself from the entire competition.</p><p>Against Thompson this week, Kyrgios could arguably have won the match a lot sooner had it not been for his compulsion to hit pointless tweeners into the net. When he had the lead in the second set, he fell to the floor, <a href="https://twitter.com/AlanDawsonSport/status/1146014003904299008" target="_blank" rel="noopener">straddled the grass, and just moaned</a>. "I was packing my bag and I would take my going out clothes. It was insane, I was jet skiing and partying and won a tournament.</p><p>"I got hammered at the players' party and somehow played unbelievable that week, the stars aligned. I was having a lot of fun."</p><p>Having booze on his mind mid-competition doesn't always work out for the best, though, as he found out in 2017.</p><p>During his French Open loss to Kevin Anderson that year, Kyrgios smashed his racket to smithereens, demanded a beer from a spectator in the crowd, then walked off the court with his phone in his hand.</p><p>After his pub visit last night, it remains to be seen what version of Kyrgios turns up for the Nadal match on Thursday.</p><div><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I just had a toast with Nick Kyrgios at the Dog &amp; Fox. They've been banned from football matches in the past, but it hasn't stopped them looking for new ways to gatecrash.</p><p>They've pulled a number of cunning stunts, from <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/wimbledon/2071313.stm" target="_blank">playing at Wimbledon</a> and <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2010/article-1257072/How-did-notorious-pranksters-country-England-s-team-hotel.html" target="_blank">joining Manchester United on the football pitch</a>, to <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2002/jul/16/simonhattenstone.features11" target="_blank">appearing on the winner's podium at Silverstone</a> and sneaking into the 2014 World Cup finals<span>.</span></p><p>Business Insider talked to Dunn to find out how they have pulled off their pranks over the years. </p><p>"Every prank we've gone for, we've done," Dunn told Business Insider. The duo has performed five stunts together, but Dunn said he has gatecrashed as many as 20 sporting events in his life, including gaining access to the football pitch at the 2014 World Cup finals.</p><p>The most important thing when sneaking into a venue, Dunn said, is to be confident and commit to your challenge. "Go for it. "Initially, we wanted to go to the finals in Milan, but United had already lost one match and we knew they'd be kicked out and we'd lose our chance."</span></p><p><span>According to the legendary prankster, knowing your venue inside out is crucial. "You need to do a recce of the place first. It's absolutely important." In 2005, Power and Dunn were<a href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/local-news/stitched-up-with-a-three-year-ban-1157961" target="_blank"> banned from attending football matches for three years</a> after sneaking past security guards at Old Trafford stadium to pose for a photo dressed in Manchester United's strip before a match against Liverpool. The pair were even asked to hand over their passports to prevent them attending England away games.</p><p>Once the ban was lifted, Dunn came straight back to his hoaxes. The key to sneaking into a venue, he said, is to look the part. In 2015, Dunn made waves in Manchester when <a href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/prankster-rubs-shoulders-lionel-messi-8750454" target="_blank">he sneaked into Barcelona football club's coach before a match against Manchester City</a>. "I had a suit on so I looked like security."</p><p>"It's very easy to do really. No one questions what you're doing because they aren't expecting it."</p>
