New Delhi, Jul 3 () Diagnostic laboratory chain Thyrocare Technologies on Friday said it has launched 'Covid Antibody Tests' facility at its labs across the country. The test identifies if a person has had the novel coronavirus at some point in the past and has produced the antibodies to fight it. The test kits and procedures have been approved by ICMR, and the company has made the test available pan India, Thyrocare said in a statement. The test is done as sero-surveillance, which is a reference to understand the spread of infection in a community by looking for antibody generation in an exposed individual. This test is not for diagnosis purposes, it added. The test will help to understand what percentage of the population got exposed to the virus and developed antibodies to fight the virus, Thyrocare said. "The antibody tests will equip us with data and information regarding the immunity levels of citizens in our country," Thyrocare Technologies Founder and CEO A Velumani said. The company has conducted about 10,000 tests in cities where the virus is spreading rapidly in the last week, out of which 6.8 per cent of people have tested positive for the antibody tests, he added. As the virus spreads rapidly in India, these tests will prove to be extremely crucial and important to bring back normalcy, the statement said. Thyrocare labs launch COVID antibody tests

<keyword id="35210" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="sebi">SEBI</keyword>, the capital markets regulator of India, has sought clarification from four companies regarding their proposed IPOs. 
 These companies are <keyword id="1869462" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Advanced-Enzyme-Technologies">Advanced Enzyme Technologies</keyword>, <keyword id="3257310" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="KPR-Agrochem">KPR Agrochem</keyword>, <keyword id="3257311" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="S-P-Apparels-and-Thyrocare-Technologies">S P Apparels and Thyrocare Technologies</keyword>. 
 
While SEBI has not disclosed the details of the clarifications that it seeks from these companies, it has said that it is awaiting response from their merchant bankers and lead managers.

Mumbai, Mar 30 () Digital healthcare platform Practo has tied with private lab chain Thyrocare to carry out Covid-19 detection tests for Rs 4,500. A valid prescription from a doctor will be needed to book a test. Currently, the services at this cost are available within 300 km radius of its Mumbai lab. Soon it plans to start the collections nationally based on lockdown restrictions. The Mumbai-based startup currently has a workforce of over 6,100 employees. Seven-year old PharmEasy claims that the initiative to launch a new development centre coincides with the increased digital adoption due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The company claims that this increased customer demand has also increased the demand for tech skills across the spectrum. “The new facilities will serve as a significant hub for driving development and innovation,” Abhinav Yajurvedi, chief technology officer (CTO) of PharmEasy. Founded by Dharmil Sheth, Dhaval Shah, Harsh Parekh, Hardik Dedhia, and Siddharth Shah, PharmEasy caters to the chronic care segment and offers a range of services such as teleconsultation, medicine deliveries, and sample collections for diagnostic tests. It operates a business-to-business (B2B) pharma marketplace with 6,000 consultation clinics with 90,000 partner retailers pan India. PharmEasy’s parent company API Holdings became the first Indian startup to acquire a publicly listed company, after it acquired A Velumani-led diagnostics chain Thyrocare Technologies for ₹4,546 crore ($612 million) in June. Shashank agrees that healthcare is a hot sector for start-ups, ’Medical devices start-ups in India are creating good quality, low-cost devices for the masses. We are excited to integrate with a lot of Patent-pending technology start-ups.’ 
 ’<keyword id="108593" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="20" keywordseo="telemedicine">Telemedicine</keyword> is also coming up in a big way; many patients don’t mind a new way of interaction with their doctors, they are already using social networks like <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> and <keyword id="790242" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="WhatsApp">Whatsapp</keyword> to get consultation.’ 
 
Our biggest challenge is to allay the fears related to technology platforms. Adoption of tech is a problem, still, a lot of hospitals are not open to changing their processes to accommodate technology.
