Like other home robots, it can map the environment so that it knows to avoid furniture and other fixtures, LG says. The company said it'll be delivering the bot to customers in early 2021.</p><p>Laptop case and accessory maker <a href="https://shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=999&amp;u=1088116&amp;m=73862&amp;urllink=us.targus.com%2F%3Fsscid%3D11k5_fid2k3D11k5_fid2k" rel="nofollow sponsored">Targus</a>, meanwhile, announced a UV-C light meant to sit on your desk to disinfect your workspace. The light runs for five minutes every hour and can disable itself if it senses motion near the cleaning zone. Targus said the desk light would be released sometime in March 2021. </p><p>The idea of using UV-C to disinfect frequently trafficked spaces is far from new. Some businesses like New York City's Magnolia Bakery began using so-called <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/uv-light-cleanse-portals-used-to-kill-germs-coronavirus-2020-6">"cleanse portals" in 2020</a> that zap away germs with UV-C, and hospitals and medical facilities have also previously used the tech for sanitization purposes.</p><p>But the prominence of UV-C gadgets at CES, a show that's typically focused on cutting-edge tech, suggests there's renewed interest from companies large and small in finding new ways to use technology for sanitization. </p><p>Other companies focused on reducing contact with frequently touched surfaces rather than disinfection. Alarm.com's Touchless Video Doorbell can alert owners when someone is at the door either through their smartphone or a chime placed in the home after the visitor steps on a special doormat. The idea is to make deliveries and visits safer by eliminating the need to physically touch the doorbell, the company says. </p><h2>New laptops designed with remote work in mind</h2><div type="image" title="HP Elite Dragonfly Max_Sparkling Black_Workspace 2" height="1019" width="1358" msid="80291497" hostid="261"></div><p>It's been almost a full year since the COVID-19 pandemic forced many companies to shift to remote work. And during that time, the limitations of the devices we use to work from home have become abundantly clear - particularly when it comes to camera and microphone quality.  </p><p>At CES 2021, major PC makers like Lenovo, <keyword id="6367983" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="hp">HP</keyword>, and Dell all announced new business laptops designed to address these shortcomings as consumers prepare for another year of Zoom meetings.</p><p>The <a href="https://shop-links.co/1729515356393392825" rel="nofollow sponsored">HP Elite Dragonfly Max</a>, for example, features four wide-range microphones that use artificial intelligence to optimize audio, along with a 5-megapixel camera. Those additions are significant considering most laptops typically come with two or three microphones and have only a 720p resolution camera. HP says the 720p cameras on its Dragonfly G1 and G2 laptops have a 1.2-megapixel sensor, so a 5-megapixel camera is a big jump.</p><p><strong>Read more: <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-laptops-ces-2021">The best laptops of CES 2021</a></strong></p><p>Lenovo's <a href="https://shop-links.co/1729515262213695393" rel="nofollow sponsored">Thinkpad X1 Titanium Yoga</a> similarly has four far-field microphones for improved audio quality during conference calls, and Dell's Latitude 9420 has a camera that comes with automatic light correction for video calls.</p><p>Several of these new laptops from Dell, Lenovo, and HP also come with features meant to reduce eye strain from staring at the screen for prolonged periods of time.</p><p>Another big theme among laptops at CES: presence detection that can lock or wake your computer depending on whether you're nearby, a capability that can help keep sensitive work materials private when you're not working from the office.</p><p>Taken together, these updates suggest the PC industry is thinking about adapting laptops for an era in which many people are spending their time on video calls and in front of a screen for most of the day, even when working away from a traditional office setup.</p>

Although the Series 6 and SE both share the larger-sized screen Apple introduced with the Series 4 in 2018, the Series 6 is the only model Apple currently offers that can display information on screen even when idle. </p><p>The Apple Watch Series 6 is also more customizable than the SE and Series 3, and not just because of its color choices. The Series 6 also comes in aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium finishes, whereas the other watches are only available in aluminum. </p><p>Overall, the new colors give the <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fshop%2Fbuy-watch%2Fapple-watchle-watch" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Series 6</a> a bit of a bolder look compared to the space gray and silver models.</p><h2>Blood oxygen readings</h2><div type="image" title="Apple Watch Blood Oxygen Red" height="1325" width="1766" msid="78434766" hostid="261"></div><p>The <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fshop%2Fbuy-watch%2Fapple-watchle-watch" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Apple Watch Series 6</a>'s most significant update is its ability to measure oxygen saturation in the blood, which refers to the percentage of oxygen your red blood cells distribute throughout your body.</p><p>Such readings have been helpful in <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/apple-watch-series-6-pulse-oximeter-coronavirus-cases-2020-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">flagging potential COVID-19 cases</a> when serious symptoms aren't showing. But Apple says this feature isn't intended for medical use and is only meant to be another metric by which to measure your overall wellness.  Blood oxygen levels of between 95% and 99% are considered to be normal.</p><p>You can take a blood oxygen reading manually anytime by launching the app on your wrist, but the watch can also perform readings in the background when you're at rest too. The reader works by shining red and green LEDs and infrared light through your wrist and then monitoring the light that's reflected back.</p><p>The watch's algorithms determine the color of your blood, and based on those findings the watch determines how much oxygen is in your blood. Blood oxygen measurements are traditionally taken through pulse oximeter devices that clamp onto your finger. </p><p>In my experience, the Apple Watch's blood oxygen readings were generally consistent and landed within the range of 95% and 100% over the course of roughly two weeks. But, there were two troubling instances in which the readings dipped below 90%, which would indicate that something could be seriously wrong. I'm not the only one who had this experience — <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/09/23/apple-watch-oximeter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post's Geoffrey Fowler</a> reported similar findings.</p><p>The accuracy of the readings depends on the fit of your Apple Watch, how still you keep your arm, and whether the back of your Apple Watch is flush against your wrist. I've been wearing the Series 6 with Apple's new Solo Loop band, which comes in a fixed size that isn't adjustable and sometimes fits a bit more loosely than the Sport or Sport Loop bands I typically wear. It's possible that the watch slipped and simply didn't have a snug enough fit to get an accurate reading in those few circumstances. </p><p>Even so, it's generally more important to look at overall trends rather than one-off readings, according to experts who spoke with <a href="https://www.consumerreports.org/medical-symptoms/covid-19-pulse-oximeters-oxygen-levels-faq/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Consumer Reports</a> on the topic. At-home pulse oximeters also aren't typically intended for medical use and haven't been put through the same testing as those used in medical environments, the report also says.</p><p>But, I wouldn't recommend purchasing the <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fshop%2Fbuy-watch%2Fapple-watchle-watch" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Series 6</a> specifically for the blood oxygen reader alone — and not because of any qualms with its accuracy. Rather, it's because since the Apple Watch's blood oxygen readings aren't intended for medical use, it can be difficult to know exactly how to interpret these results and how they contribute to overall wellness. Apple does offer some articles in its health app that explain what blood oxygen levels mean, but I'd like to see more insight in the readings themselves.</p><h2>Other health tracking features </h2><div type="image" title="Apple Watch Workout Green" height="1500" width="2000" msid="78434772" hostid="261"></div><p>Like its predecessors, the Apple Watch Series 6 can take an electrocardiogram from the wrist, a feature that's been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration. The ECG generated by the Apple Watch is similar to a single-lead electrocardiogram, according to Apple, and can indicate whether your heart rhythm is showing signs of atrial fibrillation. Watches from <keyword id="6486191" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="fitbit">Fitbit</keyword> and Samsung also offer similar functionality. </p><p>These two features — the ability to check your blood oxygen saturation and take an ECG from the wrist — are the biggest differentiators between the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE. Both watches can detect when you've taken a hard fall and support international emergency calling, unlike the Series 3. </p><p>And, of course, the <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fshop%2Fbuy-watch%2Fapple-watchle-watch" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Series 6</a> still shines as a general activity tracker and workout companion, just like Apple's older watches. Apple offers a variety of different workout types, which are available on the Series 6 as well as the SE and Series 3. The Apple Watch and competing devices made by Fitbit are both capable of tracking specific workout types like running, walking, hiking, elliptical, swimming, and yoga among others. </p><p>Hikers and runners will also probably appreciate the Series 6's always-on altimeter, which can measure changes in elevation in real time both indoors and outdoors. This feature is also available on the cheaper Apple Watch SE. </p><p>Now that Apple has launched its watchOS 7 update, all compatible Apple Watch models can track your sleep as well, a feature that Apple's smartwatch had long been lacking compared to rivals like Fitbit. The Apple Watch can measure how much time you've spent asleep each night, the time you fell asleep and the time you woke up, and a summary of your heart rate data throughout the night. </p><p>It's helpful, but not nearly as comprehensive as data offered by rival devices like those made by Fitbit, which can track the quality of your sleep and tell you how much time you've spent in light, deep, and REM sleep.</p><p>The Apple Watch Series 6 also lacks a couple of features found on Fitbit's new Sense smartwatch, like the ability to see how stress impacts the body and skin temperature measurements. But <a href="https://www.theverge.com/21450123/fitbit-sense-review" target="_blank" rel="noopener">some reviewers</a> <a href="https://www.cnet.com/news/fitbit-sense-review-an-ambitious-smartwatch-that-takes-on-too-much/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have said</a> that Fitbit doesn't do enough to make this data useful and palatable for wearers.</p><h2>Software</h2><div type="image" title="Apple Watch 6 Blue" height="1500" width="2000" msid="78434776" hostid="261"></div><p>All of the <keyword id="1010975" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Smartwatches">smartwatches</keyword> in Apple's current lineup — which include the Series 3, SE, and Series 6 — support watchOS 7, the new software update Apple announced in June. The upgrade brings new features like the ability to track sleep, share customized watch faces with friends and family, log new workout types, and manage an Apple Watch for a child or other family member.</p><p>Overall, I've generally found that the Apple Watch's software is a key area in which it excels over Fitbit, even though Fitbit devices generally offer longer battery life, better sleep tracking, and come at a more affordable price. The Apple Watch has a much larger pool of apps to choose from and software features that are more polished. The Apple Watch's always-on display, for example, is more customizable than Fitbit's, and notifications are much more feature-rich. </p><h2>Battery life and performance</h2><div type="image" title="Apple Watch Charging Yellow" height="1271" width="1695" msid="78434781" hostid="261"></div><p>Even with the <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fshop%2Fbuy-watch%2Fapple-watchle-watch" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Series 6</a>, the Apple Watch still doesn't offer multi-day battery life. In my experience, I'm usually able to get through a little more than a day and a half before it's time to put the watch back on its charger. That means if you plan to track your sleep with the Apple Watch, you'll have to remember to carve out time during the day to charge it. Fitbit smartwatches, by comparison, can last for several days without running out of juice.</p><p>Although the battery life hasn't changed much, Apple has made it easier to quickly charge up your watch before leaving the house. Apple says the Series 6 can charge more quickly than its predecessor, and in my experience it lives up to those claims. After 20 minutes of charging, the Series 6 reached 35% while the Series 5 only charged to 21%.</p><p>The Series 6 also runs on a speedier, new S6 processor that the company says should run up to 20% faster. I didn't notice this much when switching from the Series 5 to the Series 6, however, but you'll likely experience a speed boost if you're upgrading from an older watch. The Series 6 comes with support for ultra-wideband tech as well, which will eventually enable the watch to serve as a smart car key. </p><h2>The bottom line</h2><div type="image" title="Apple Watch 6 Red" height="2455" width="3273" msid="78434790" hostid="261"></div><p>With new health measurements like blood oxygen monitoring, a better always-on display, faster charging, and a new processor, the <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fshop%2Fbuy-watch%2Fapple-watchle-watch" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored nofollow sponsored">Apple Watch Series 6</a> is a solid successor to the Series 5. </p><p>The Series 6's blood oxygen sensor is its biggest new feature, but it can be difficult to argue that the blood oxygen readings alone makes the Series 6 worth buying. It's just one piece of the health offerings Apple offers, and since it's not intended for medical use it's difficult to tell exactly what to do with these readings. When my blood oxygen saturation dropped to 87%, for example, I didn't know if I should consult a doctor or just chalk it up to my watch not fitting properly. </p><p>Buy the Series 6 if you also prioritize the other benefits it offers, like an always-on screen, the ability to take an ECG, more customization options, and faster charging and performance.</p><p>Those who just want an Apple Watch with a larger screen and faster performance than the aging Series 3 will get by just fine with the Apple Watch SE. It still offers all of Apple's core health features and many of the same features as last year's Series 5,  such as international emergency calling and a built-in compass, but lacks the always-on screen.</p><p><strong>Pros:</strong> Brighter always-on display; Faster charging; Bold new color options; Blood oxygen readings expand Apple Watch's health offerings</p><p><strong>Cons:</strong> Battery life could be better; Sleep tracking is basic compared to other fitness trackers; Not always clear how blood oxygen readings add to overall health metrics</p>

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>OLED is better. We've learned this with phones, we're seeing it with TVs, and after spending several weeks with Lenovo's <a href="http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/x1-yoga/" target="_blank">ThinkPad X1 Yoga</a>, I'm convinced it's the case with laptops too.<h2>Wait, what is OLED?</h2><p>Let's take a step back. OLED, short for "organic light-emitting diode," is a type of display technology. It differs from the more widely used LCD (liquid crystal display) tech by creating light within every individual pixel that makes up its picture, instead of requiring a separate backlighting system.</p><p>This means it can produce perfectly dark blacks - rather than trying to cover up a backlight behind the scenes, and inevitably letting some light through, it simply shuts the appropriate pixels off. The result is an infinite contrast ratio - i.e., the difference between a display's darkest blacks and brightest whites.</p><p>And that, in turn, means an OLED panel can produce more a vivid, realistic picture. If you've ever put a Galaxy S7 and an iPhone 7 side-by-side, you've seen the difference: Apple's LCD displays are excellent for what they are, but Samsung's just <em>pops</em> more. It's more engrossing. It's thinner, too.</p><p>Now, I'm simplifying. Improved backlighting tech, wider color gamuts, and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-hdr-tv-should-i-buy-2016-8" target="_blank">HDR</a> have helped the best LCD displays catch up a bit. But stuff like that isn't <em>exclusive</em> to LCD. Judged straight up, the contrast difference is great enough to make OLED superior. View it on a bigger screen, and it's hard to go back.</p><h2>It's just gorgeous</h2><p>Which brings us back to the ThinkPad X1 Yoga. I <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/lenovo-thinkpad-x1-yoga-vaio-z-flip-review-2016-7/" target="_blank">reviewed the non-OLED version</a> over the summer, so if you're interested in how the whole package works, go there.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>To sum: It's got a terrific keyboard, a conservative but comfortable design, and perfectly solid performance. Its battery life is <em>fine</em>, and it doesn't have any USB-C ports, but it's thin and light enough, and I love its fully rotatable screen. It is a dependable Windows laptop that successfully walks the line between business- and travel-friendly.<p>You could say that about a few notebooks, though. What puts the ThinkPad X1 Yoga in the VIP section is that OLED display. Right now, it's one of three laptops to adopt the tech, along with the <a href="http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/alienware-13-laptop?dgc=BA&amp;cid=305965&amp;lid=5793658&amp;acd=123092272372786722c101143314&amp;ven3=471403625461979808" target="_blank">Alienware 13</a> and <a href="http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-spectre-x360---13t-touch-laptop-p3a84av-1" target="_blank">HP Spectre x360t</a>.</p><p>And man, is it gorgeous. It produces a huge array of array of colors, and those colors are consistently deep, clear, and full. They can also get very bright. And again, black tones are pitch dark.</p><p>It's hard to convey just how pleasing this is without having you see it yourself. Everything, from the pitch in a game of FIFA to the icons in Windows 10's start menu, looks more alive. Any time I'd start a movie, I felt compelled to make it full-screen, if only to soak in the added vividity. Oftentimes, I found myself choosing to stream video on the 14-inch Yoga instead of my TV. This is a genuine step forward for laptops as a category.</p><h2>The technical challenges of OLED</h2><p>Despite its positives, OLD is still not perfect. Take viewing angles, for instance: OLED screens are generally better at staying legible when you aren't looking at them dead-on, and that's the case here. But the Yoga's display is prone to color shifting - you'll still see everything, but it'll take on a more bluish, washed out tone, neutering the advantage.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Beyond that, while the Yoga's screen can get very bright with colors, it's dimmer when white tones dominate the screen. In general, whites are just a bit dirtier than I'd prefer by default. And while the colors here are gorgeous, they're a bit oversaturated out of the box. This is a truly excellent display for media and entertainment, but that's definitely the point here - those with more professional needs will have to mess around a bit.<p>The other issue with OLED is burn-in. If you leave a certain image on an OLED screen for too long - say, the icons in Windows 10's task bar - you run the risk of that image being retained on, or "burned into," the screen over time. This isn't a problem unique to OLED, but it's a threat to its longevity. This forces companies like Lenovo and Alienware to take extra software measures to prevent it, and add further provisions to their warranty programs.</p><p>To wit: Lenovo pre-loads a bunch of different color modes and screen dimming settings onto the Yoga to help. They're fairly comprehensive. You can dig into nerdy things like blue point and gamma to fine-tune colors, and you can make it so the task bar or inactive windows automatically dim to save energy and stave off burn-in.</p><p>But they don't tidy up everything. I had numerous instances where colors would shift as I was using certain apps. In the Opera browser, for example, the entire white balance would momentarily get darker whenever Lenovo's all-black caps lock icon appeared onscreen.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div><p>There are other examples, but between this and the fact that Microsoft doesn't have its own set of color correction settings, there's a nagging sense that Windows isn't totally built for OLED today.</p><h2>The structural challenges of OLED laptops</h2><p>There are reasons for that, though. While OLED is becoming standard on high-end smartphones, the state of OLED on laptops appears to be in flux.</p><p>Lenovo, Alienware, and HP each announced their forays into OLED computing last January at CES 2016. There are just under two months until CES 2017. Not one OLED laptop has launched in between.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>The three that do exist have experienced or continue to experience intermittent supply shortages. As of this writing, Lenovo lists the OLED Yoga as sold out. HP recently refresh its laptop lineup for the fall, but left its OLED Spectre out of the design and specs updates. Alienware did update its OLED model earlier in November, but it hasn't been immune to issues either.<p>But if OLED is such a lovely improvement - and I am far from the <a href="https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-thinkpad-x1-yoga-oled/1" target="_blank">only</a> <a href="http://www.anandtech.com/show/10697/the-lenovo-thinkpad-x1-yoga-review" target="_blank">reviewer</a> <a href="http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/14/13283622/lenovo-thinkpad-x1-yoga-review" target="_blank">to think</a> <a href="http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/thinkpad-x1-yoga-oled-tested" target="_blank">that</a> - why has the buzz died so quickly?</p><p>According to Linn Huang, research director at analyst firm IDC, it mostly comes down to the cost of manufacturing, which is especially important at a time when PC sales remain on a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-macbooks-pc-market-share-2016-10" target="_blank">prolonged, steady decline</a>. The panels just aren't there.</p><p>"The short answer is that it's going to take quite some time to ramp up OLED production and supply," Huang says. "Currently, market economics aren't in favor of large-sized OLED screens because of the short supply. I'd estimate that OLED panels roughly add 20-30% to the shopper-facing price today for notebooks, and this is all occurring against the backdrop of a PC market that continues to drive towards the low end."</p><p>Indeed, all three of today's OLED laptops cost roughly $250 more than an LCD model with comparable specs. Despite its relatively common Core i5 processor, the OLED Yoga I reviewed starts at nearly $1,700. The new OLED Alienware 13 starts at $1,749, while the already-dated OLED Spectre goes for $1,349. This is not cheap.</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Alienware boss Frank Azor says demand for the OLED Alienware 13 has been high despite those costs, but admits that its supplier - <a href="http://en.community.dell.com/dell-blogs/direct2dell/b/direct2dell/archive/2016/01/05/great-resolution-and-portability-for-the-new-year" target="_blank">Samsung</a>, which also supplied Lenovo - hasn't found a comfortable return rate on its OLED laptop display production just yet.<p>"This thing has been really popular, and unfortunately, it's not yielding, I would say, as high as everyone had hoped," Azor says.</p><p>Nevertheless, Azor says it's still early days, and that the OLED supply line is "improving."</p><h2>A hangup to a better laptop future</h2><p>Does that mean OLED laptops will one day become the norm? "Not any time soon," Huang says. "The incumbent, LCD, has a few advantages, not the least of which is massive manufacturing scale. The premium between OLED and LCD should remain high over the next several years, and LCDs should continue to occupy the lion's share of the notebook market."</p><p>"I see OLED notebooks gradually gaining modest traction in the next several years but still on the outskirts of the mainstream segment," he says. "Instead, OLED could be a spec that serves as the line of demarcation between the mainstream and the premium end of the notebook market. The best laptop displays you'll ever see are available today - but may never go mainstream

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>For the longest time, if you needed a laptop for Getting Things Done, the simplest solution was to buy a MacBook Pro from Apple. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;"></span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Yes, it's expensive, but there's been little else in that "power user" range </span><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmPq00jelpc"><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">just works</span></em></a> <span style="font-weight: 400;">the way it has - especially with its stellar keyboard, world-class trackpad, long battery life, and gorgeous display.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Right now, however, things aren't as clear cut. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It's been more than a year since Apple updated the MacBook Pro line. A </span><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/this-is-what-new-macbook-pro-could-look-like-2016-6?r=UK&amp;IR=T"><span style="font-weight: 400;">potentially significant update</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is coming, but in the meantime, a handful of Windows 10 devices have emerged as genuine alternatives in that high-end, pro-level bracket. (Microsoft's </span><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-surface-book-review-2016-4"><span style="font-weight: 400;">own Surface Book</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is one, Lenovo's Yoga 900 is another.)</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">For the past month, I've been using two newer contenders: the </span><a href="http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/x-series/x1-yoga/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, and the </span><a href="http://us.vaio.com/vaio-z-flip"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Vaio Z Flip</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Though they both come with very real tradeoffs compared to the pure accessibility of the Pro, they also do things that any Apple machine simply cannot. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">They </span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">do</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;"> have their differences, though - so I put them head-to-head. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you're on the fence about buying a new power notebook, it's worth waiting and seeing what exactly Apple has up its sleeve.
