When <keyword id="2210217" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus">OnePlus</keyword> decided to launch an upgrade version of its newest flagship phone within six months of the rather popular <keyword id="3442140" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="OnePlus3">OnePlus3</keyword> release, it was rather surprising not only because the Chinese smartphone maker in only two years in the market and has a limited product portfolio but the launch of <keyword id="3778076" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="oneplus-3t">OnePlus 3T</keyword> was even more surprising considering <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/OnePlus-3-is-a-winnerall-the-way-We-used-it-and-we-tell-you-why/articleshow/53074183.cms">OnePlus3 was very well received</a> and within no time was the one of the hottest devices out there. 
 
Then why the upgrade, well it looks like with this upgrade, OnePlus has focused on the specs that matters the most to the users. If I have to really break it down to you, OnePlus 3T is a faster device topped with bigger storage along with longer lasting battery and can click better selfies! 
 
After using the device for quite some time I found that the slight spec bumps made in OnePlus3T added up in a great way taking the usability of the phone to a whole new level. 
 
Processor 
Even though OnePlus3 was a smooth device, one of the snappier ones out there but the OnePlus 3T feels faster and even smoother when you jump from one task to the other. Given how smooth the phone functions I quite understand why OnePlus wouldn’t wait for 2017 to add these changes. The bump to the SnapDragon 821 seemed like a perfect move considering it draws the same amount of power as the SnapDragon 820, but is a lot faster. You can certainly feel the change but why they couldn't do this for OnePlus3 escapes me! 
 
Storage 
My phone is not just a phone but a media device just like almost everybody else’s these days so I am happy with as much storage as can be possibly made available. Also considering India is one of the top video consumers in the world so its only understandable that at any given point you would want a massive amount of videos, movies and series at your disposal. And it’s a huge jump from 64GB to a 128 GB of storage! While a 64 GB is also an option in the new phone but why would one go for it specially because the phone does not have an expandable storage. The 128GB variant will be perfect for heavy media users be it storing media content or shooting a whole lot of videos. 
 
Battery 
One thing that didn’t go well for OnePlus3 was the fact that while the rest of the smartphone makers tried to pack in bigger and bigger batteries, the battery capacity for OnePlus3 went down even when compared to the company’s earlier flagship OnePlus2 but that has been corrected as OnePlus 3T battery gets boosted to 3400mAh making sure it lasts you a whole day without pulling any stops on usage. I could easily sustain a day checking mails, clicking pictures, watching videos, social networking and what not. The extra 400mAh may seem small but does make a great deal of difference as I had one less thing to worry about in the day – my phone dying on me! OnePlus 3T also has a dash charger that helps you charge rapidly, the company claims “a day’s power in half an hour”, and I find that it’s almost true if you let the phone charge in peace. 
 
Camera 
OnePlus3 camera was a winner from the word go and a total photographer’s delight as you can save the raw image files for later if you wish to revisit and retouch it. And thankfully nothing has changed there. But if you are more hooked to the front facing camera, the smartphone maker has made a great shift by fitting in 16MP camera from Samsung. I can tell you that my selfies never looked better but the front camera serves a great deal more than selfies be it online chatting or video calling, features that will be heavily used in near future. So re-doing the front facing camera is certainly a change that serves great many purposes. 
 
Cost 
Coming to the cost, it’s (thankfully) more expensive than the five months older Oneplus3 which was priced at Rs. 27,999, the 64 GB OnePlus 3T costs Rs. 29,999 and the 128 GB option is priced at Rs. 34,999. Although the price is not much of hike but given that both phones are available users would go for that extra T with a slightly bigger price but again it’s not going to be that easy for the now new phone considering the price pushes through the Rs. 30,000 mark. 
 
So I would say that OnePlus3T is an impressive handset that knows exactly what the users want. Even though the changes may seem small and far too soon over the already high specced OnePlus3 but these changes certainly up the usability of the phone by a great deal. And I guess there’s no reason to wait for the next flagship to cross the t’s.

It's a really nice phone with a giant 5.5-inch screen and powerful specs that rival what you'd find in an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy. What's really cool is OnePlus sells all that for $300, or less than half the cost of an iPhone 5S, which starts at $649.
The catch? Quantities are extremely limited, and you need an invitation before you can buy a One directly from OnePlus.
Before you ask: no, I don't have any invitations to buy the OnePlus One.
But that hasn't stopped readers from emailing me about the device like crazy. I've written dozens and dozens of gadget reviews over the years, and I've never gotten a response like this. Every few minutes another email hits my inbox with a reader asking if I can provide an invitation or an introduction to the company so he or she could get a One. (Sorry, I really can't help you!)
Still, I think the reader interest in the OnePlus One taps into something important. 
Smartphones have become cheap enough to make that some manufacturers are willing to sell them for next to nothing in order to gain rapid adoption and market share. We've already seen it with Xiaomi, another Chinese startup that makes high quality Android phones and sells them for just a few hundred bucks. In fact, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/xiaomi-2014-5">Xiaomi sells more phones in China than Apple does</a>.
Consumers seem to be waking up to the fact that they don't need to break the bank to get a premium smartphone experience. Apple and Samsung may be happy reaping the profits of the high end of the smartphone market, but there's still plenty of opportunity to court the billions of people left in the world who want to start using smartphones without spending too much.

I've Written Dozens And Dozens Of Phone Reviews, And I've Never Gotten A Reaction Like What I Got For The OnePlus One Phone

After the launch of Redmi Note 13 series, Oppo has now played its turn with the new Reno 11 series. Perhaps the most famous product from the brand Reno devices enjoys a cult following. To the point that I have been stopped twice in my last week of testing enquiring about the product. Fascinatingly once in Goa and then in Delhi. I have tested the last two generations of Reno Pro devices. Reno 11 Pro seems like the culmination of the progress I have seen over the last two years. So is this the ultimate Reno device? And how does it stand against the heavy weights in its category like <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/redmi-note-13-pro-review-a-new-mid-range-fighter/articleshow/106617001.cms">Redmi Note 13 Pro+</a>. I will tell you in my detailed review. Price &amp; Availability Oppo Reno 11 Pro is available in a single variant that packs in 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It is priced at ₹39,999. It’s clean, minimal and lightweight. To the point that it will remind you a lot of the Reno 10 Pro, like it did to me. The form factor is of course similar, but I am not complaining. Considering the new additions here are commendable especially in terms of the quality of materials here. The Reno 11 Pro sports a glass back and front, with particularly the ‘Pearl White’ color standing out. I am usually not a big fan of patterns on a smartphone but the back on Reno 11 Pro has been executed beautifully. It has a matte finish to it which also encourages you to let go of a case. However, be careful since you do not want to drop it. I wish the phone also supported wireless charging considering brands like Nothing are now doing it at this price segment. <div type="image" title="Reno 11 Pro sports a sleek profile." msid="106691367" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Reno 11 Pro sports a sleek profile.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Moving on the back also houses the massive camera set-up housing three camera sensors here. While I am definitely impressed by the cameras I am not happy with the orientation here. Placed vertically the camera bump stands out like a sore thumb and tends to break away from the minimal design we enjoy on the rest of the smartphone. Oppo has tried to compensate by giving it a silver finish with toothed edges. And yet I have not been able to wrap my head around it. Beyond that the design carries familiar elements. We have the volume rockers and power button on the right edge, and yes they are tactile. At the bottom we have the Type-C charging port next to the SIM card slot and speaker grill. The smartphone supports 2 micro SIMs. On top we have the rejuvenated IR blaster here, a feature which has made a comeback in a big way across devices. And yes it's more useful than you can imagine. A universal remote in your pocket? I can vouch for that. It’s not unique to Oppo though for that matter Reno 11 Pro is the third device this year I have seen this on. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/vivo-x100-pro-review-peak-camera-performance/articleshow/106456535.cms">Vivo X100 Pro </a>&amp; Redmi Note 13 Pro+ had this as well. Display The display experience on the Reno 11 Pro is strikingly similar to the Reno 10 Pro, this comes as no surprise since the displays are identical on paper. I am not complaining since the output isn’t bad by any means. But yes it does carry forward its minute yet noticeable weaknesses. The Reno 11 Pro flaunts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display boasting a screen resolution of 2412X1080 Pixels, showcasing a brightness reaching up to 950 Nits. The peak brightness is also similar to last year's Pro variant. Whether you're engrossed in content or merely glancing at the always-on screen, this luminous panel offers ease on the eyes, even under direct sunlight. With crisp details, natural colors, and a curved display that enhances the overall viewing experience, it's a standout feature. However, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ at a lower price offers a brighter display with 1800 nits of peak brightness. And you will notice the difference between the two devices especially while watching content and at bright outdoors. Oppo's implementation of the always-on display deserves praise. Its customisable and the wallpaper options are also commendable. However, as with curved screens, occasional mistouches remain a slight inconvenience. Despite its excellent execution, inadvertent touches leading to accidental app openings or difficulties with the volume slider in portrait mode are minor trade-offs. The display seamlessly integrates an optical fingerprint scanner. While it takes a split second to unlock the device, its consistent performance without misses is commendable. The screen truly shines in the viewing experience, especially when coupled with the 120Hz refresh rate. The standard 120Hz refresh rate offers a smoother experience for gaming and content consumption, flawlessly delivered by the Reno 11 Pro. While switching between the standard 60Hz and 120Hz may cause a slight lag, the superior visual experience compensates for it. The bright, color-accurate panel is a delight, supporting HDR 10 &amp; 10+ for HD content on OTT apps like Disney Plus Hotstar. For instance, watching What If Season 3 on the platform provides a diverse range to evaluate the display quality, from bright outdoor scenes to dark indoors. Fortunately, the Reno 11 Pro excels in these tests. The display maintains accuracy throughout, showcasing deep blacks and minimal light leakage. For content consumption enthusiasts, the Reno 11 Pro stands out. That being said, the auto brightness feature here is out of sync while watching content. With the phone really dimming down when it's not necessary. So I preferred keeping the auto brightness off throughout the day. Oppo has also prioritized sound quality, evident in the stereo speaker setup that delivers loud audio output with retained detail even at lower volume levels, albeit with potential detail loss in super volume mode. Software The Oppo Reno 11 Pro arrives with Android 14 out of the box, showcasing the ColorOS 14 skin. While the overall user experience of the skin remains consistent, there are some classic features I should highlight. Commencing with the general features, we see a considerable amount of pre-installed bloatware which stands out. Fortunately we have the ability to uninstall these apps. Notably, there are no questionable app recommendations, which is a positive aspect of the software. Visually, Color OS 14 retains its strengths with vibrant colors and crisp text, offering a user-friendly and easily navigable interface. The array of customization options is extensive, enabling personalization of various screen elements, from widgets to icon designs and color schemes. However, integrating elements from stock Android 14, especially within the drop-down menu, akin to the larger tiles seen in default Android skins like the Pixel 8, could enhance the overall user experience, in my opinion. Setting that observation aside, Oppo promotes ColorOS 14 as a more intelligent operating system with some standout features. Firstly, auto pixelation is introduced, automatically blurring people in screenshots to safeguard their identity. While it may miss some instances when operating automatically, manual blur options directly from the screenshot menu are welcomed. Another feature, Multi Screen Connect, facilitates connectivity between Oppo products like the Pad Air and enables Oppo smartphone connection with PCs. This feature is particularly useful for presentations, although the connection process might take some time. The device also supports fast pairing with Oppo Buds, a feature increasingly common in modern devices, akin to OnePlus devices and Nord Buds using OnePlus Fast Pair. The meeting assistant stands out as one of the most useful features, allowing the device to switch to a mobile network for a stable internet connection during video calls. Tested and proven practical, this feature comes in handy, especially if your router is distant from your seating area. Oppo emphasizes the future-proof nature of their devices, evident in their promised update cycles. The brand commits to offering three years of Android updates and four years of security updates for the Reno 11, ensuring users remain updated and secure over an extended period. Performance Oppo Reno 11 Pro runs on Mediatek Dimensity 8200, a respectable but older chipset. Oppo might get some flack for this decision, however I don’t see any blanket reason to complain. It’s efficient, enables SuperVOOC charging and works in tandem with the camera. Before I explain my experience let's get into some numbers. I ran a Geekbench 6 CPU test on the Oppo Reno 11 Pro. The single-core score for the device is 1220 and the multi-core score is 3516. These are respectable numbers and should satisfy both power hungry and efficient users. This is higher than the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ which scored 1121 and 2630 respectively. As anticipated, the Reno 11 Pro delivers consistent and dependable performance, thanks to the comprehensive package Oppo offers with this device. It boasts 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, more than adequate for most users. While it allows for internal RAM expansion using spare storage, I've yet to encounter a scenario where this feature is necessary. Speaking of performance, particularly in demanding tasks like gaming, I rigorously tested COD:Mobile on the Reno 11 Pro 5G, playing for at least 2 hours daily. Even with settings maxed out at HDR graphics I didn't experience any glitches or frame drops. The sizable 6.7-inch display enhances gaming, facilitating easy enemy detection and elimination. The blend of the high refresh rate and robust SoC ensures a seamless and fluid gaming experience. Compared to the Nord 3, the Reno 11 Pro 5G felt smoother, largely due to the superior SoC. After continuous gaming for about 50 minutes, the phone does warm up, but discomfort becomes noticeable only after the 1-hour mark. However, it quickly cools down, allowing swift return to gaming without significant delays. Efficient RAM utilization in the Reno 11 Pro 5G enables holding applications in the background for extended periods, including apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and heavier ones like COD: Mobile. Switching between apps is seamless, seamlessly picking up where you left off. This performance isn't limited to gaming; everyday use remains smooth, ensuring general users won't encounter issues. For basic users not heavily into gaming or pushing device limits, the specifications and real-life performance of the Reno 11 Pro 5G might be excessive. With 256GB internal storage (where the system utilizes around 25GB), the remaining 225GB suffices for most users. If additional storage is needed, considering extra cloud storage is an option as the Reno 11 Pro doesn't support external SD cards. Before wrapping up, the battery performance of the Reno 11 Pro 5G deserves mention. Equipped with a 4600mAh battery, it's challenging to drain, especially for light users. Impressive numbers indeed. With casual to heavy usage, I averaged around 7 hours of screen time, encompassing gaming, video calls, and YouTube consumption. For light users, the battery life extends even further, comfortably lasting over a workday. Supporting 80W SuperVOOC charging, the device excels in efficiency. The bundled 80W charger replenishes the battery from 0% to 100% in approximately 35 minutes, even with mobile data turned on. Camera Now the resolution on the cameras on 11 Pro are practically the same but their is a difference in results. Especially the low light performance. With its triple camera setup, comprising a 50MP primary camera, a 32MP telephoto portrait camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, the Reno 11 Pro offers a versatile photography experience. The 50MP camera impresses with its sharp imagery, vibrant colors, and exceptional dynamic range, particularly in bright outdoor conditions. Oppo's algorithm enhances these images, presenting final results that may differ from what's initially seen in the viewfinder. Even spontaneous shots retain detail when zoomed in. Utilizing the dedicated 50MP mode elevates detail and ensures accurate color reproduction. Apple forever changed the biggest tech event of the year by not showing up

Here to replace the FN7, the FP9 sticks to some classic features. It follows a minimalistic design, promises great audio performance with its ANC and features UV nanotechnology. Priced at par with some more exciting and well-received products like the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/gadgets/news/sony-wf-1000xm4-tws-earbuds-review/articleshow/88898120.cms" data-type="tilCustomLink">Sony WF-1000XM4</a> and Apple's AirPods Pro, the Tone Free buds have some tough competitors. So does it fare well? And is it worthy of your ears? I answer that question in my in-depth review. Price &amp; Availability LG Tone Free FP9 is available for a price of ₹29,990 on LG’s official online store and Amazon. Design &amp; Build LG’s execution for the FP9 is different from its predecessor, the FN7. We still see a shell-shaped case, but it’s slightly bigger. A bigger case also means more real estate when carrying it. So, carrying it in your pockets can be tricky and require adjustment. Yet, its design makes it smaller than Airpods Pro. <div type="image" title="Case for the Tone Free Buds sports a minimal design" msid="93804658" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Case for the Tone Free Buds sports a minimal design&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The variant with me is in white colour and looks premium. It sports a minimalistic design since there are no strikes or curves that look out of place. There is only a “Tone” branding on top. I wish it had a matte finish, though, since carrying it in your pockets without a case means scratches which spoil the look. The case also has an LED indicator that signifies the connectivity status and battery life. I appreciate LG’s attention to detail here. A green indication reads that the case has a sufficient battery backup, an orange LED indicates it has reached halfway through, and a red indicator means it’s running low. This helped me stay updated about the battery situation and charge it accordingly. There is also a USB Type-C charging port and a slider button to shift it to wireless charging. Perhaps, the most unique proposition of the case is inside of it. The UVnano lights, according to LG, protect the buds from 99.99% of bacteria. While I can’t verify the claimed protection, I believe it might give some mental peace to a certain section of buyers. Moving on to the buds, the FP9 are smaller than Airpods Pro or the regular Airpods. Unlike the dot design we see on Samsung Galaxy Buds, the tone-free version of the traditional TWS design is a shrunken-down version. And it does work! The buds are of the right size, giving you ample space to interact with them while not troubling you when walking around. <div type="image" title="FP9 buds are smaller than Apple AirPods Pro" msid="93804735" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;FP9 buds are smaller than Apple AirPods Pro&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The build quality is also top-notch. They feel robust, and the plastic on them is of high quality. Aesthetically LG could have done better since the buds don’t look as swanky as the Airpods or the Galaxy Buds. Considering the price point, I expect something fancier in the next iteration. In terms of comfort, the FP9 hit the target. Their small size combined with an ergonomic build makes them a solid choice for sitting at a desk or working out. The buds did not budge while I was sitting or moving around. While working out, I had to push them in sometimes, but nothing that would jargon your routine. LG also provides three pairs of extra ear tips inside the box, so it won’t be a problem for you to find your perfect fit. Performance Pairing and Connectivity- The FP9 features Bluetooth 5.0, which works well, and minor hiccups. During my testing, I paired them first with an Android device, the OnePlus 9RT. Quick to show up in the list, this was a two-tap process. Especially with swift pair, the case automatically pops up the FP9 if your device’s Bluetooth visibility is turned on. My Android smartphone was connected to the buds in under 10 seconds. This was very impressive. However, the situation was the opposite when I tried connecting them with my iPhone 12. I had to refresh the Bluetooth list multiple times for it to show up. It was on the 4th attempt when they popped up in the list. To be sure, I tried connecting them with another Apple device, the iPhone 11 and the struggle was constant. I tried to connect them back to an Android smartphone, and it was as quick as the first time. What remained constant in both situations was the fact that once paired up, the buds provided robust connectivity. In my month of usage, the buds have not shown me any sudden disconnections or connectivity loss. Another highlight is multi-device pairing which is convenient if you work from home. Switching between my laptop and smartphone was easy; I didn’t have to disconnect the buds to pair them again manually. Here I would like to point out that if you are buying TWS buds or any Bluetooth audio product, I strongly suggest getting one with multi-device pairing. Gestures The FP9 are touch-enabled and comes with a pre-set of gestures. As mentioned before, the right size of the buds makes it easy for you to interact with them. For added convenience, LG also provides a dedicated touch point where you can tap to interact with the buds. <div type="image" title="Touch gestures on the FP9 rarely miss out" msid="93804926" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Touch gestures on the FP9 rarely miss out&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The execution is commendable for two reasons. First, it doesn’t miss out on any of the prompts you make; second, it’s easy to remember how to use them. You can do a lot from the buds. A single tap on either bud means playing or pausing your media. Double tap on the right bud means an increase in the volume, while the same on the left bud means decreasing the volume. A triple tap will help you move forward or backwards in the playlist. These gestures are easy to learn and very minimal. A long press on either bud turns on the Active Noise Cancellation. You can customise these settings as well from the TONE Free application. Although I won’t suggest changing these settings since the buds tend to struggle when you connect them to different devices. Tone Free Application A native application for high-end TWS buds is not uncommon; in this case, it is the LG Tone Free app. Available on Android and iOS devices, it offers some respectable options to customise the performance of the FP9. You can control ambient sound and ANC settings from the app. There are also three sound presets on board for different needs. <div type="image" title="LG Tone Free app let&amp;#39;s you customise the equalizer &amp;amp; ANC settings" msid="93804941" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;LG Tone Free app let&amp;#39;s you customise the equalizer &amp;amp;amp; ANC settings&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> You can turn on the noise cancellation or turn it off completely. You can also choose the ambient sound option to hear the conversation and limit the ambient noise. The app also lets you change the equaliser settings for the buds. The choices are straightforward: Immersive, Natural, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, and 3D sound stage. You can also create upto two custom sets according to your preference. What are the ones I prefer? I talk about them in the performance section. Yes, the app does provide you with a plethora of options to choose from. However, LG should work on making it more stable. The app crashed multiple times in my month of usage and froze while I tried to create a custom preset. This problem was constant for both Android and iPhone. Audio Performance To start this section with a spoiler - FP9 wins big in audio performance. The 8mm drivers might not be big with the numbers, but the fine-tuned hardware delivers crystal-clear audio quality. For reference, I have picked up 2 Bollywood classics that are famous across our nation. The first is the bassy number Dus Bahane from 2005. From the first note, you can make out the different sounds from the source. The high-energy track is a mix of guitar, drums, and electronic music, all of which create a party in your ears. The music output is also bassy, perhaps the best I have experienced since the WF-1000XM4. The next song I played was Kal Ho Na Ho’s title track, sung by Sonu Nigam. This soothing number has low mids and an unforgettable tune. With the FP9, I could enjoy the low mids. While registering every possible instrument in the song. The volume output of the buds was on the lower side initially, and I had to keep them at the 70% mark to enjoy the music. However, once I turned on the ANC, there was no looking back. The execution of noise cancellation on the FP9 is commendable. Sticking to the first of the presets - ANC ON. The earbuds eliminated a considerable amount of noise around me, and I could feel the vacuum it created once I turned on the feature. For reference, AC and fan noise in a room does not penetrate your ears. Other cases include someone using their phone on speaker, but only a minuscule amount would reach my ears. The ANC makes its presence felt in outdoor situations the most. Taking a metro ride with the FP9, I could not hear announcements in Delhi Metro. For that matter, the usual chatter was eliminated. Delhi Metro announcements are fairly loud, yet I couldn’t hear them with the ANC turned on. Long story short, I missed my stop, but it makes a strong case for its noise-cancellation prowess. I would not recommend using the buds with ANC turned on with the high-quality setting with those surprising results. Especially if you are outdoors since it is very risky. Going with the ambient sound option is what I would recommend. Since it not only allows you to be part of conversations but also reduces the risk significantly when you are walking outdoors. Yes, the audio performance feels underwhelming once you have used ANC in its full glory, but it’s not bad. While the ANC on the buds is fairly impressive, it's important to point out that a pair of headphones generally fares well regarding noise cancellation. So, if you buy an audio device strictly for music, here is a heads-up. Now coming to the audio settings. Bass Boost is the one I thoroughly enjoyed while I worked out, combined with ANC at low frequency. I used the immersive preset while I was outdoors, mostly because it hits the right balance of bass and volume. I could keep the volume levels at 60% and walk around while enjoying my tracks and being aware of my surroundings. It was the 3D spatial sound that left me disappointed. Pitched to create a surround sound experience, I tried watching a movie with this preset. Unlike what was promised, there was a major echo. I believe this can be fixed if you fiddle around enough on the TONE Free app, but who has the time? LG should have provided a more solid spatial sound preset. The calling experience on the buds is decent. I noticed no call drops or breaks during my testing. The call reception was satisfactory, and the caller on the other end could hear me properly. I have also used them for my Google meets call with my laptop, and the connection was also stable there. Battery It’s time to highlight the battery life of the FP9. LG claims the entire package offers 24 hours of battery backup. Individually that translates to 10 hours on the buds and 14 hours on the case. This is in line with the competition like <keyword id="6358540" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sony" source="Orion">Sony</keyword> WF-1000XM4. The real-time mileage is considerably lower than what is claimed. On average, I was getting 5 hours of battery life on the buds, while the case did deliver two more charges on its best day. So that brings us to a total of 15 hours. This is not bad especially considering I had the ANC turned on throughout the day. You can charge the FP9 both wirelessly and through a cable. I usually charge them with a cable because I find it more reliable. I used a 30W adapter to charge the buds, which would go from 0-100% in about 2 hours. Verdict The LG TONE Free FP9 is perhaps one of the most underrated audio devices on the market today. We can blame that title on poor marketing or the brand’s track record. But as of today, I strongly recommend going for these TWS buds if you are looking for one. You can get them for as low as ₹18,000 on a good day on Amazon. That being said, if you have deep pockets, there are plenty of options.

LG TONE Free FP9 TWS Buds Review: Underrated TWS with a lot of potential

WhatsApp is a far inferior messaging service, with few of the embedded apps and functions iMessage has.My parents, not the most tech-savvy people in the world, didn't want to have to download WhatsApp for our weekly catch-up video chats. FaceTime was far more intuitive and reliable.Then I started thinking about the numerous group chats I already have established with friends on iMessage.Android users will likely scoff at the so-called "green bubble" problem. I'm the first to admit that the idea that friends will not want to text you because you have "green bubbles" is ridiculous.When groups of friends are already engaged in a long-running iMessage group chat, the introduction of an Android user is disruptive. Suddenly, the group chat gets separated into a million individual SMS/MMS threads, until you get each individual person to <a href="https://theunlockr.com/2012/04/13/how-to-manage-group-texts-on-android-phones/">fix the problem in their settings</a>.Then you add in the fact that both of us are out of the US for most of the year. SMS/MMS group chats rack up expensive charges with each message, whereas iMessage - as an instant messaging service, rather than SMS - costs nothing. It's not as simple as everyone accepting the "green bubbles."Within two days, I was researching my options to return the Moto G6 and what kinds of iPhones I could buy. When Harrison opted to return the G6 and decided to purchase the OnePlus 6T due to its far superior camera, it was the final straw.If he was going to spend $580 on the 6T, I reasoned, why not just spend a couple extra hundred to get the iPhone XR, a phone that I would be truly happy with?I'm the first to admit that it comes down to familiarity. I've used iOS forever, already have my photos synced with iCloud, and use a MacBook and iPad for work. With the iPhone XR priced at $750, the price difference of a couple hundred bucks wasn't enough for me to give up all that, plus the ease of transferring files and photos with AirDrop, answering iMessages on my computer or iPad, and not having to bother with Android's learning curve.That was enough of a deal breaker for me. Over the course of 2016, phones like the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/oneplus-3-review-2016-6" target="_blank">OnePlus 3</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/zte-axon-7-review-2016-8" target="_blank">ZTE Axon 7</a>, and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-se-review-2016-3" target="_blank">iPhone SE</a> have all shown that you don't need to pay more than $400 to get something high-end. The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/samsung-galaxy-note-7-review-2016-8" target="_blank">Galaxy Notes</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-6s-review-2015-10" target="_blank">(larger) iPhones</a> of the world can still justify the usual $650+ price tags, but it's getting harder and harder for anything without a Samsung or Apple logo to do the same. The <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Honor-Unlocked-Phone-Midnight-Warranty/dp/B01IVV7W6O" target="_blank">Huawei Honor 8</a> only deepens that divide. Like those devices above, it's $400, but looks and feels like it should cost more . I've been using the phone - which comes unlocked and works with GSM carriers like T-Mobile and AT&amp;T - for the past couple of weeks. Here's a rundown.<h2>What's good about the Huawei Honor 8</h2>- It's gorgeous. What I like most about the Honor 8 is how I've been going out of my way to use it. Review units come and go, and eventually everything starts to bleed together. At first blush, this one doesn't seem much different. You have the rounded edges, dotted speaker grill, and not-uncommon mix of glass and aluminum.The longer I've spent with it, though, the more it's stood out. It's neither thick nor heavy, but there's a sense of heft to it that's refreshing at a time when many devices are <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/moto-z-droid-review-2016-8" target="_blank">obsessed with slimness</a>. The side bezels are super slight, the aluminum edges are sturdy, and 5.2 inches is a good middle ground between "comfortable for one hand" and "comfortable for watching YouTube."The all-glass back is smooth and spare, and its lack of a camera bump means it sits totally flat. It also does this little light reflecting effect that has no pragmatic benefit, but just looks cool. Sometimes that's okay. The phone feels like it should cost more. <div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Hollis Johnson</div></div></div>- There's a fingerprint scanner, and it's very fast. It's placed in just the right spot, a recessed little circle toward the top of the back, and it's consistently accurate. It also doubles as a convenience key, similar to what's on the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/alcatel-idol-4s-review-best-budget-smartphones-2016-7" target="_blank">Alcatel Idol 4s</a> or <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/blackberry-dtek-50-review-2016-8" target="_blank">BlackBerry DTEK50</a>. Here, you can set it to open various apps - one with a press, one with a double press, another with a long press. You can also rest your finger on the scanner to snap photos, instead of using an onscreen button. This is all useful.- The display is a pleasure. It's a 5.2-inch, 1080p IPS panel. There are sharper displays out there, but it's not like you'll notice the drop-off. What matters is that its colors are accurate, it doesn't wash out at an angle, and it gets bright enough to be visible in the sun. It's not as vivid as a good OLED screen, but it gives you little to complain about.- It's not the strongest $400 phone, but it's still fast and fluid. Internally, the Honor 8 rolls with Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin 950 chip and a healthy 4GB of RAM. Huawei pegs the 950 as equal to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 found in most 2016 Android flagships, but that's not quite the case - my benchmark tests put it a little ways behind the 820-powered OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon 7 across the board. Technically, for the money, you can do better.That said, if you're not a spec fiend, you'll be more than fine. Apps open quickly, Chrome browsing is smooth (relatively speaking), and there isn't a game you can't play with some level of comfort. My only major complaint is how that glass back gets a tad warm if you stress the phone long enough. Still, it's a step above what's usually in the midrange.- There are two cameras on the back, and they combine for crisp, vibrant photos. Dual-lens cameras are the new hot thing in smartphone photography: LG put two sensors on the back of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/lg-g5-review-2016-4" target="_blank">the G5</a>, and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/iphone-7-will-have-dual-camera-for-better-photos-look-similar-6s-report-2016-8" target="_blank">Apple is expected to do the same</a> with the iPhone 7 Plus. When done wrong, the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/why-the-lg-g5s-dual-camera-is-bad-2016-4" target="_blank">result is decidedly unremarkable</a>. The Honor 8 doesn't do it wrong.Here we have two 12-megapixel shooters: one, an RGB color sensor, the other, a monochrome sensor meant to pull in more detail. The idea is to give the Honor 8 more information to work with, which it can then combine into images that capture more light, are more flexible with depth of field effects, and generally look more vivid. It's all very similar to <a href="http://www.techinsider.io/the-huawei-p9s-dual-camera-can-re-focus-2016-4" target="_blank">what Huawei did with its P9</a> flagship overseas - while it still can't touch the highs of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/galaxy-note-7-camera-review-comparison-2016-8" target="_blank">Samsung's newest Galaxy phones</a>, it's not terribly far off. Colors are rich, there isn't much noise, and low-light shots are decent. The focus-shifting effects aren't perfect, but they're convincing at their best. The only red flag is that there's no optical image stabilization, so you might run into blur if you shoot quickly. Otherwise, this is a very competitive setup. <div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Hollis Johnson</div></div></div>- Storage isn't an issue. There's 32GB of room by default - or 64GB in a $450 version - which is fine. Alongside that, you can add up to 256GB more through a microSD slot, which is good. Since the phone supports Android's "Adoptable Storage" feature, it'll treat any added storage as if it was part of the phone itself, which is great.- The little essentials are fine. I had no issues with T-Mobile's network here in Manhattan. Same goes for connecting to WiFi at home. Calls were also good and clear. There's NFC support, too, if you're into mobile payments. The speaker could be louder, but most of the basics are down.- There's also an IR blaster. Some context: For a few years, Android manufacturers went through this phase where they all became weirdly enthusiastic about baking infrared sensors into flagships. "Your phone can be your TV remote!," they'd proclaim. It was such an odd and incredibly dorky feature to promote, but I loved it because of that.Most phone makers moved on earlier this year, but Huawei apparently missed the memo. Sure enough, its Smart Controller app lets you pair the Honor 8 with your TV and flip through channels with your phone. IR itself is still a horribly outdated standard; really, I just enjoy the absurdity of writing about this in 2016.<h2>What's bad about the Huawei Honor 8</h2>- The software has a few fun tricks, but it doesn't feel necessary. To be clear, Huawei's EMUI skin is perfectly usable. It won't stop you from checking your texts or Facebook alerts. The problem is that its diversions either feel forced or just plain weird.The icons are different, just because. There's no app drawer, because that's what Apple does. There's a range of motion controls and "Knuckle Sense" shortcuts - so you can, say, take a screenshot by knocking on the screen - because those are things you can technically do with a smartphone. The whole thing is hyperactive about killing background processes, because that sounds like it'd be more helpful than annoying. Nothing about it is awful; it's just not better.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Hollis Johnson</div></div></div>What is bad is just how thick it is. The Honor 8 needs that 4GB of RAM to run smoothly, because at any given point EMUI eats up anywhere from 1-2GB on its own. Its feature set doesn't make up for that. On the plus side, <a href="https://9to5google.com/2016/08/20/honor-promises-two-full-years-of-software-updates-for-the-honor-8/" target="_blank">Huawei says</a> it plans to support the Honor 8 with two years of software updates - including one that'll take it from Android 6.0 to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/new-android-nougat-features" target="_blank">Android 7.0 Nougat </a>- albeit at a rate of "at least once every three months for the first 12 months."- Glass is glass. This thing is as slippery as smartphones get. Rest it on any sort of angled surface, and it'll soon slide to its death. Given that glass isn't the sturdiest material in the world, that's not great! The fact that Huawei is offering a bonus warranty for any glass-related damages tells me it realizes this. The fact that the phone is a fingerprint magnet doesn't help, either. All of this happens every time someone makes a glass phone, and it never gets less annoying. - Battery life isn't as strong as it should be. The 3,000mAh pack sounds formidable on paper - especially with a 1080p screen - but it's not so much in practice. It can still get you through a full day, which is what matters, but that's not a given the way it is with the OnePlus 3 or iPhone SE. It's not removable, either, so it could become a more nagging issue years down the road. On the plus side, the phone does use USB-C (albeit over USB 2.0), which helps it charge relatively quickly.<h2>So, should I buy it?</h2><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Hollis Johnson</div></div></div>Well, I'm not going to tell you no. The Honor 8 runs well, takes sharp photos, and has all the features I'd expect from phones $200 more expensive. And again, on aesthetics alone, it is a Nice Thing. If the OnePlus and ZTE didn't exist, it'd be a no-brainer. But they do. The OnePlus 3 in particular is still the top choice from this new class of "affordable flagships." Compared to the Honor, it's faster, its camera is still excellent, and its software is much cleaner. It looks a bit more utilitarian, but it's far from cheap. It also won't slip off the arm of your couch.Still, we're mostly talking about fine margins. If you dig the look of the Honor 8 - and that's a very easy thing to do - it's a fine choice, and another blessing for smartphone shoppers on a budget.
