Most carmakers rely on a good credit rating because production and operating costs are capital intensive.</p><p>Meanwhile, the company is facing yet another National Transportation Safety Board investigation into a deadly crash involving its semi-self driving system, AutoPilot. Tesla is falling after Elon Musk jokes about the company going bankrupt

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Tesla is selling a limited-edition set of two beers and two ceramic steins for $150.</li><li>The steins are designed to mimic the form of the Cybertruck.</li></ul><p>Tesla has a new item in stock — a limited-edition set of beers for a mere $150. <br /><br />The set includes two 11-ounce bottles of Tesla CyberBeer, a "Helles Lager" with notes of herb, spice, tea, and citrus, Tesla says on its <a target="_blank" href="https://cyberbeer.tesla.com">website</a>.</p><p>It also comes with two matte-black ceramic CyberSteins that are designed to mimic the futuristic form of the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-truck-cybertruck"><u>Cybertruck, which may enter production before the year is out</u></a>. Orders for the beer will begin shipping in late October, according to Tesla's website. </p><p>Back in March, Tesla launched a $30 GigaBier to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-germany-berlin-gigafactory-ships-cars-265-day-delay-2022-3"><u>celebrate the opening of its Berlin Gigafactory</u></a>. The factory delivered its first vehicles last year after <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-berlin-gigafactory-delays-july-opening-date-2021-7"><u>facing a series of setbacks</u></a>. <br /><br />The EV-maker also <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-tequila-elon-musk-electric-car-company-drink-2020-11"><u>released a $250 bottle of branded tequila</u></a>, in a lightning-bolt shaped bottle in 2020, two years after Musk joked about "Teslaquilla" in a <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/980566116614291456">tweet</a>.</p><p>Tesla had <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-tequila-elon-musk-electric-car-company-drink-2020-11"><u>originally filed to name the liquor "Teslaquila"</u></a> but the move was blocked by tequila industry regulations for being too similar to the word tequila itself. </p><p>Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider, made outside normal working hours. </p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>OpenAI just launched Code Interpreter, ChatGPT's newest plug-in that answers queries with Python.</li><li>Insider reviewed Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube posts to see how users are testing the beta plug-in.</li></ul><p>It seems <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-chat-gpt-2023-1">ChatGPT</a> just got a whole lot more useful. Last week, OpenAI launched a beta version of its plug-in called Code Interpreter to users of <a href="https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt-plus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ChatGPT Plus</a>, which costs $20 a month.</p><p>Code Interpreter is the latest addition to ChatGPT's slate of plug-ins that can do things like <a href="https://affiliate.insider.com?h=4ca3608d61a712e6757289a45da9bdd86219866d524a0278c99f7103ad82ea02&amp;postID=64aebaf34cdae0156f7092a5&amp;site=bi&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.kayak.com%2Fnews%2Fkayak-chatgpt%2F" target="_blank" rel="noopener">look for flights</a>, <a href="https://gptstore.ai/plugins/-gochitchat-ai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">review links such as web pages</a>, and <a href="https://gptstore.ai/plugins/scholar-ai-net" target="_blank" rel="noopener">search for peer-reviewed scientific research papers.</a></p><p>Thanks to the new plug-in, users may now be able to turn ChatGPT into their own personal data analyst. Unlike the standalone version of ChatGPT — which answers prompts by scraping public data  — Code Interpreter uses Python, a popular computer coding language, to generate its responses. Users can now upload files to ChatGPT and download files generated by the bot.</p><p>ChatGPT Plus users can enable this feature by opening the chatbot, pressing the settings icon, clicking on the beta features tab, then toggling the Code Interpreter button. </p><p>Given its capabilities, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHdAb8yBBDI" target="_blank" rel="noopener">some techies</a> are now debating <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMumiQNnuhE" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whether Code Interpreter can replace data analysts</a>. Still, some have urged users to exercise caution when using the plug-in after noticing <a href="https://twitter.com/paniterka_ch/status/1678507402100895749" target="_blank" rel="noopener">it could produce errors</a>. </p><p>To see how people are using the plug-in, Insider scoured sites including Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube for examples.  </p><h2>1. Perform data analysis </h2><p>Users can feed the chatbot large data sets and ask it to perform detailed analyses to identify trends.  </p><p><a href="https://twitter.com/emollick/status/1676441469979185157/photo/2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In a demonstration</a>, Ethan Mollick, a professor at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, copy and pasted an unstructured dataset of fireworks injuries in 2019 and 2020 into the chatbot. </p><p>Code Interpreter formatted the data into an organized database and concluded there'd been a "significant increase" in firework injuries over the period. </p><p>"I am regularly impressed by how much statistical common sense ChatGPT with Code Interpreter has," <a href="https://twitter.com/emollick/status/1676441469979185157" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mollick  tweeted</a>. </p><p>Users can also upload spreadsheets that contain hundreds of rows of data sets in CSV, XSLT, and JSON formats. </p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet blockquote" data-lang="en" data-cards="" data-conversation="">—Ethan Mollick  (@emollick) <a href="https://twitter.com/mims/statuses/1676441469979185157?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 5, 2023</a></blockquote><h2>2. Create data visualizations </h2><p>Code Interpreter can generate graphs based on the datasets users provide. </p><p>Alex Ker, the founder of an AI-projects incubator, <a href="https://twitter.com/thealexker/status/1677735724773265409" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted </a>that he fed Code Interpreter a Tesla stock dataset and asked the AI to graph the prices. In just five minutes, the chatbot was able to make multiple line graphs that showed its closing prices over five years.</p><p>Ker also got the plug-in to generate a line plot and histogram that shows how the daily stock prices have fluctuated.</p><p>"Code Interpreter is insane for exploratory data analysis and visualizations," Ker tweeted. "It's your personal data scientist and analyst."</p><p>Other users were just as impressed by the AI. Clean up data </strong></h2><p>Instead of manually going through hundreds of rows to clean up your data set, Code Interpreter may be able to do it for you in seconds. </p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93ImHebJy1k" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In a recent video,</a> Drake Surach, who is behind the YouTube channel AI Foundations, demonstrated how he used the ChatGPT plug-in for data hygiene.</p><p>He uploaded an Excel sheet of FBI crime rate data that contains empty rows and columns, and asked the chatbot to "clean this data."</p><p>In two minutes, Code Interpreter created a new spreadsheet with its column names corrected, unnecessary rows deleted, and footnotes removed.</p><p>"This would've taken such a long time — hours and hours on end — had we not had ChatGPT in order to help us do it," Surach said in his video.</p><h2>4. Generate games</h2><p>With creativity and careful attention to prompts, ChatGPT users can get Code Interpreter to build a game from scratch. </p><p>Ker, the founder of an AI tools incubator, <a href="https://twitter.com/thealexker/status/1678801892858556417" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted instructions</a> on how he used the plug-in to recreate Flappy Bird, a once popular smartphone game, in just seven minutes.</p><p>First, he asked the AI to "write p5.js code for Flappy Bird" with a description of its rules. After that, Ker found open source code to help Code Interpreter devise a version of the game. </p><p>"I created platformers and similar games back when I took intro to computer science," Ker tweeted. "Teachers may have to reimagine final projects now."</p><p>Using a similar process, Kris Kashtanova, an AI educator, <a href="https://twitter.com/icreatelife/status/1678184683702566922" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> that she got Code Interpreter to generate a simple asteroid game. </p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet blockquote" data-lang="en" data-cards="" data-conversation="">—Kris Kashtanova  (@icreatelife) <a href="https://twitter.com/mims/statuses/1678184683702566922?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 9, 2023</a></blockquote><h2>5. Produce videos and GIFs from images — and vice versa </h2><p>ChatGPT Plus users can use Code Interpreter to produce animated clips. </p><p>Salma Aboukar, a Midjourney prompt educator, <a href="https://twitter.com/Salmaaboukarr/status/1679056558863392768" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a> that she got the plug-in to produce a video for a mock Tequila perfume in less than five minutes.</p><p>First, she prompted Midjourney, an AI-image generator, to produce an image of a "bottle of perfume sitting next to a cactus" with keywords for the specific styles she wanted. Then, she uploaded the Midjourney image to Code Interpreter and asked it to create a video using the image.</p><p>After some additional prompting, the plug-in generated a four-second clip.</p><p>Code Interpreter can even produce GIFs.</p><p>Mollick, the Wharton professor, <a href="https://twitter.com/emollick/status/1653451648826757121?s=46&amp;t=eJBK0MAQ5gIiH9vHmzmFEg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote in a Twitter thread</a> that he uploaded a spreadsheet containing data of "every lighthouse location in the US." Convert files</h2><p>ChatGPT's new feature can transform images into GIFs and GIFs into videos. But Code Interpreter can also handle much more mundane file conversions efficiently.</p><p>Howfinity, a YouTube channel dedicated to producing "how-to" videos on tech applications, showed <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t7417CB-o8">in a recent video</a> that users can get Code Interpreter to convert files, such as turning a PNG file into a JPEG, or a MP4 file into a GIF.</p><h2>7. Write and debug code efficiently</h2><p>Unlike its name suggests, Code Interpreter may be "most useful for those who do not code at all, " Mollick said <a href="https://www.oneusefulthing.org/p/what-ai-can-do-with-a-toolbox-getting?utm_source=post-email-title&amp;publication_id=1180644&amp;post_id=133584187&amp;isFreemail=true&amp;utm_medium=email" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in a blog post.</a></p><p>Standard ChatGPT, like most other chatbots powered by large language models, or LLMs, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chatgpt-new-ai-chatbot-conversation-with-questions-answers-examples-2022-12" target="_blank" rel="noopener">produces code</a> when prompted. But in the same blog post, Mollick said users would often have to test and revise the code.</p><p>Now, Code Interpreter can fix its own coding mistakes and provide better output, he added. </p><p>AI Business <a href="https://aibusiness.com/nlp/openai-s-code-interpreter-lets-chatgpt-play-data-scientist">shared screenshots of code</a> generated by Code Interpreter that programs a game based on the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rick Astley hit "Never Gonna Give You Up."</a></p><h2>8. In Italy, for example, possessing a flamethrower can carry a sentence of 10 years, per TechCrunch.</p><p>"We were told that various countries would ban shipping of it, that they would ban flamethrowers [...] to solve this problem for all of the customs agencies, we labelled it, 'Not a Flamethrower,'" Musk told podcaster Joe Rogan in 2018.</p><h3>Musk: "It's dangerous"</h3><p>Musk also joked on the podcast that <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-wrong-and-dangerous-people-buy-boring-company-flamethrowers-2018-9">selling the Not-A-Flamethrower was a "terrible idea."</a></p><p>"It's dangerous, it's wrong. Don't buy it. Still, people bought it. I just couldn't stop them," he said.</p><p>Technically speaking, the Not-A-Flamethrower is exactly that - not a flamethrower. Military flamethrowers project flames using burning liquid fuel such as diesel or gasoline. <keyword id="4121539" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="the-boring-company">The Boring Company</keyword> Not-A-Flamethrower is powered by a propane tank.</p><p>"It's just a roofing torch with an air rifle cover, it's not a real flamethrower," Musk told Joe Rogan in 2018.</p><p>Musk's companies have a habit of releasing limited-edition merchandise. <p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/55f04014bd86ef0f008b8f8a-2953-2215/img_2691 (1).jpg" alt="Corvette Z06" data-mce-source="Matthew DeBord/Business Insider" /><p class="source"><span>Matthew DeBord/Business Insider</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>Business Insider readers already know that we like the Chevy Corvette Stingray.</p><p>We named it our <a href="Business Insider's First-Ever Car Of The Year Is The Corvette Stingray">2014 Car of the Year</a>, concluding that although it might not be the mythical Corvette of the Mind - that honor goes to the second-generation version of the car from the early 1960s or the third-gen Vette, built from 1968 to 1982 - it was certainly the best Corvette to yet emerge from the storied bluegrass assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky.</p><p>But you should know something. There's actually a better Vette.</p><p>A <em>much</em> better Vette.</p><p>There's just one drawback. While the Stingray (technically the C7, or seventh generation of the all-American sports car) is a deeply compelling motoring experience, the better Vette is a way of life.</p><p>It's the Z06, and it's a living, breathing supercar.</p><p>The stats: 650 horsepower, 650 f00t-pounds of torque. You'll know this because Chevy has included a small plaque with the data, located on the center console. Other stats: 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, according the manufacturer. And one more stat: Just look at it!</p><p>For comparison, here's a first-generation Vette, a charming little thing:</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/50f9c8a269bedd3948000014-2334-1500/1953 chevrolet corvette 77172.jpg" alt="1953 corvette" data-mce-source="GM" /><p class="source"><span>GM</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>And here's the Z06:</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/55f041449dd7cc17008b8fd4-3264-2448/img_2686 (1).jpg" alt="Corvette Z06" data-mce-source="Matthew DeBord/Business Insider" /><p class="source"><span>Matthew DeBord/Business Insider</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>You've come a long way, baby.</p><p>GM let us borrow a Z06 for a weekend, and we took the car and its supercharged V8 engine and its groovy targa roof all the way out to eastern Long Island, then back across Manhattan and into New Jersey. If this sounds like fun, it was.</p><p>But it was also an exercise in personal discipline and focus. The Stingray is a Corvette through and through and therefore not a well-mannered Buick either in town or on the highway. But driving it is like piloting a Honda Civic when compared with the Z06's snarling mechanical dragon, which quite often feels as if it's powered by a Saturn V rocket that woke up on the dark side of the moon.</p><p>The performance is dismaying and actually rather difficult to properly assess without access to a track. When we reviewed the Stingray, we pointed out that for its sub-$100,000 price, you get a car that, although front-engined, could be every bit as much the track warrior as a mid-engined, $270,000 Ferrari 458. A street-legal race car for the budget-minded.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5213d3a3eab8ea2e3800000e-1024-620/ferrari-458-speciale_100437322_l.jpg" alt="ferrari 458" data-mce-source="Motor Authority" /><p class="source"><span>Motor Authority</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>The Z06 also comes in at less than $100,000. High-performance Vettes are nothing new. This Z06 can trace its heritage back to the 1960s, when the designation first emerged. Corvette's role at GM is to push the envelope.</p><p>That monumental LT4 eight-banger is a good example; General Motors says it's the most powerful engine it has created in its more than 100-year history.</p><p>In my case, it was mated to a seven-speed manual transmission (you can also get an automatic) equipped with a nifty rev-matching feature that will rhyme your engine speeds with your downshifts and match them better than you can with your left and right foot. You don't need to flirt with escape velocities to derive gobs of unholy human pleasure from that powertrain setup.</p><p>True, the entire arrangement is specifically designed to take gasoline and transform it ruthlessly and rapidly into raw speed and a sound that will make you curse the quiet. But in mild-mannered freeway cruising, you can get the Z06 up around 20 mpg, which is sort of mesmerizing when you consider that while I was doing this on the Long Island Expressway, a Lamborghini Aventador came screaming up alongside and I thought, "Well, it's pretty much you and me, bub, on this stretch of road - nothing else can touch us."</p><p>And, for the record, I didn't act on that knowledge as the Lambo wailed off into the distance, achieving something like 12 mpg for its exertions.</p><h2>More Stingray</h2><p>The design of the Z06 is best described as the Stingway with just MORE. More pronounced angles, more aggressive adornments, and more aerodynamic elements. More, more, more. The overall package does feel completely different from the Stingray, even though the bones of both cars are effectively the same. When underway, the Stingray, with a mere 505 horsepower, feels light and flicky. The Z06 feels like it could blot out the Sun with violent combustion. In the Stingray, you smile. In the Z06, you furrow your brow and tighten your grip.</p><p>You simply can't relax in the Z06 - an understandable state of affairs given that this car is completely and totally too much for everyday living. It commands your attention. But the thing only costs about $90,000. This definitely should not be. In this respect, the Z06 is meant to be something of a trans-Vette. Yes, it's a Corvette. But it's a Corvette that hangs out with Pagani Huayras and drinks good tequila. The words "singles bar" aren't printed in the owners manual. The word "Nurburgring" is.</p><p>And believe me, the Z06 is truly a machine that longs for the race track: A few months back, I watched the competition version tear around Watkins Glen International in impressive fashion, being chased by Ferraris and BMWs. (It was the C7.R, the GT racing version of the Z06.)</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/559fd9caeab8ea3e13f7425b-3264-2448/img_2788-6.jpg" alt="Ferrari Race 2015" data-mce-source="Matthew DeBord/Business Insider" /><p class="source"><span>Matthew DeBord/Business Insider</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><h2>New mindshare for the legendary Vette</h2><p>Ever since the "Boogie Nights" third-gen Vette established itself in the collective imagination as the preferred vehicle of the male midlife crisis, Corvette has been trying to modify its reputation. The effort has always been honest and determined, but the fact is that it's taken literally decades. The current Z06 stands at the pinnacle of that undertaking.</p><p>That said, it's hard to tell if it will actually work. When Vettes were for guys going through changes, Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, and Lamborghini were exotic imports. But now the competition is everywhere. It used to be rare to spot a Porsche 911 in the American wild. Now you can't swing an old crankshaft in Los Angeles without hitting one.</p><p>So even thought it's <em>easier</em> to justify buying a Vette now than it used to be, it's <em>harder </em>to convince yourself that the car is really as good as it looks on paper. And so those creeping doubts combined with the Vette's, um ... reputation lead you naturally toward Porsche.</p><p>However, the Z06, if experienced under proper conditions (that would not be on a 10-minute test drive) is adequately mind-blowing to alter this familiar psychological dynamic.</p><p>It's too early in Corvette's Generation 7 to tell if we've crossed over into truly new territory. The Z06, however, is a departure, and not simply because this is both the most powerful and most technologically advanced Vette GM has ever created. Inside and out, it was designed to <em>mean something new. </em>General Motors examined the epistemology of Corvette, found it wanting, and took the steps necessary to change hearts and minds.</p><p>With the Stingray, the steps were huge. With the Z06, they're <em>gigantic.</em></p><p>Honestly, I think the engineers doth protest too much with the Zo6.
