An official release from the state government said the expanded facility will have employment generation potential of more than 500 numbers of qualified, skilled and semi-skilled workforce to be recruited, mostly from nearby places. The company established their biopharmaceutical facility in February last year at Genome Valley with an investment of ₹300 crore to manufacture vaccines, biologicals, biosimilar, antibodies and others. The expanded site is envisaged to meet the national and international regulations to be followed in the manufacturing of the biological products as applicable and shall be built under the GMP guidelines applicable for the respective product lines, it said. This project investment is estimated to be about ₹400 crore and expected to generate employment to about 500 personnel." Gland Pharma to invest ₹400 Cr to expand its Telangana plant

New Delhi, Feb 19 () IT services firm Tech Mahindra on Wednesday announced on Wednesday the launch of T-Block Accelerator, an accelerator programme for Telangana Blockchain District. The programme has been launched in partnership with the Telangana government and innovation management firm IBC Media. The launch of T-Block is a step in continuation of the Telangana government's endeavour to make Telangana as the 'Blockchain Capital of the World', a statement said. A pact had been signed between the Government of Telangana and Tech Mahindra to this effect in 2018, it added. "This initiative is aimed at start-ups that have a strong blockchain use-case, thereby accelerating the start-up growth and therein contributing to the growth of the overall industry," the statement said. Blockchains can broadly be defined as a new type of network infrastructure (a way to organise how information and value moves around on the internet) that create "trust" in networks by introducing distributed verifiability, auditability, and consensus. Blockchain is seen as a technology with the potential to transform almost all industries and economies. Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary (information technology, electronics and communications department) in the Government of Telangana, said the accelerator will be a "torch-bearer" to multiple future blockchain accelerators in the country. "Through this initiative, Tech Mahindra will enable creation of an ecosystem which will empower start-ups to solve tough business problems for clients across diverse industry verticals. The Telangana government will help provide the required regulatory framework to enable and promote Blockchain growth," the statement said. Rajesh Dhuddu, global practice leader (blockchain) at Tech Mahindra, said the company aims to build a world-class support infrastructure for blockchain start-ups and make Hyderabad a destination of choice among several new-age entrepreneurs and blockchain evangelists. "We look forward to successfully run the T-Block Accelerator and build the public blockchain ecosystem in India," he added. Telangana govt, Tech Mahindra to launch blockchain district accelerator programme

NEW DELHI: <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> and <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> are engaged in intense negotiations to hammer out an understanding over the creation of <keyword id="68884" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Telangana">Telangana</keyword>. 
 BJP has assured the government that it would not waver from its commitment to the creation of Telangana but is insisting on a specific pledge of financial support for Seemandhra region as the condition for supporting the <keyword id="37102" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Andhra-Pradesh">Andhra Pradesh</keyword> Reorganization Bill, expected to be introduced in Parliament on Wednesday. The Union home ministry on Sunday sent a recommendation to President Pranab Mukherjee for introduction of the Telangana bill in Parliament. 
 
Sources said BJP is demanding a commitment for extending financial assistance worth Rs 17,000 odd crore to Seemandhra region through the Consolidated Fund of India to meet the revenue gap it will be saddled with, based on projections for the previous and current fiscal years, because of the transfer of resource-rich Hyderabad to Telangana as the capital of the proposed state. 
 
The party also wants the government to ask the Finance Commission to find ways of helping Seemandhra region with adequate funds on a long-term basis as a compensation for Hyderabad which generated Rs 24,000 crore in revenue. 
 
It also wants specific commitments in the coming fiscal year for projects that the two sides feel should be created in Seemandhra region for its development. 
 Congress sources confirmed that there have been several rounds of talks between party representatives including Union ministers from Andhra Pradesh and BJP <keyword id="19496" type="POSITION" weightage="60" keywordseo="leader">leader</keyword> and former party president M Venkaiah Naidu. 
 
When contacted, Naidu confirmed that he had been talking to Congress representatives and that he had made it plain that BJP will support the AP Reorganization Bill if the government commits itself to take measures for the development of Seemandhra region. 
 
"BJP in principle favours the creation of Telangana. That has been our consistent stand. But at the same time, we want to ensure that the interests of Seemandhra region are also safeguarded. There is no conflict of interest between the people of the two regions. They are all Indians and they are all Telugus,” Naidu said. 
 
He claimed that while the Centre and the Congress agreed about the need to take special steps in Seemandhra region, they were reluctant to back up their statements of intent with commitments of financial support. "They are not ready to make a commitment for the provision of assistance to Seemandhra through the Consolidated Fund of India to help it bridge the revenue gap. They want to leave the matter to the Finance Commission which is not acceptable to us,” Naidu said. 
 
Naidu also demanded commitment of support for projects the two sides have agreed on like upgrade of existing airports at Vizag, Vijaywada and Tirupati to international standards, creation of an industrial corridor between Vizag and Chennai along the lines of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and setting up of branches of central institutions located in Hyderabad such as DRDO, IIM and others. 
 
"I told them empty gestures of hand will not do. Put money on the table,” the BJP leader said. 
 Both sides said that while sticking points remained, they were in agreement on provisions of <keyword id="250148" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="40" keywordseo="The-Bill">the bill</keyword> such as declaring Rayalaseema region as backward and providing special incentives including tax holidays and exemption from central exercise for industry, creation of reservoirs in Seemandhra as part of the Polavaram project on Godavari, swift completion of six irrigation projects -- four in Rayalaseema and two in Telangana -- linked to Krishna river and a provision in the bill that education and employment opportunities in Hyderabad will remain open to people from both regions until Seemandhra gets its own capital. 
 
Naidu has also demanded creation of power plants of 4,000 mega watts capacity in the Telangana region. 
 
On the inclusion of Anantapur and Kurnool districts from Rayalaseema in Telangana, BJP is learnt to have said that it can be considered if the two regions agree.

T-Angel will select 30 early stage startups across healthcare, real estate, entertainment, sports, education and finance. They will be put them through a three-month acceleration programme, and the top 10 startups of the batch will receive funding. With four such programmes in a year, T-Hub aims to fund 40 startups. T-Angel is only the first in a series of funding programmes by Telangana to boost investments. “Over the last three years, the Telangana government has been constantly building the right elements to create an ecosystem for startups that allows them to scale with speed. The quantum of funds received by startups in Telangana has grown significantly too, we now see this only increases with the quality of startups the state has gathered,” said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary Industries and IT, Telangana State. T-Hub which is a public-private partnership runs accelerator programmes with many companies, including social media giant Facebook. Through bootcamps and workshops, T-Hub will also ensure that a startup is <keyword id="6355120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="investment">investment</keyword> ready, by providing access to investment partners. Hyderabad which was formerly known for its IT sector, is also pushing for growth in innovation centers and startups. Hyderabad, Mar 13 () The Telangana government isproposing to set up six new airports-three greenfield and anequal number of brownfield aerodromes in the state, Ministerfor IT and Industries KT Rama Rao said on Friday.Speaking at "Wings India 2020," an aviation-relatedevent here, he said the state government has appointedAirports Authority of India as a consultant for preparingtechno feasibility studies for existing airstrips (brownfield)and feasibility studies for the greenfield airports."In line with the theme of the event "Flying for All"we are now planning to re-activate old airports, creategreen-field airports and establish a chain of heliports toconnect the remote parts of our State. We have proposed threegreenfield airports and revival of three brownfield Airportsin Telangana," he said.The greenfield airports will come up at Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jakaranpally in Nizamabad district and GudibandaVillage, Adakkal Mandal, Mahabubnagar district whilebrownfield airports are at Mamnoor village, Warangal UrbanDistrict, Basanthnagar in Peddapally district and Adilabad, hesaid.The minister further said the government is activelyworking with various stakeholders to make the Warangal airportfunctional soon which is expected to boost regional airtransport and support the mega textile park there and theinformation technology hub launched in the city."We have requested Ministry of Civil Aviation toinclude Warangal airport under RCS-UDAN scheme. Telangana proposes six more airports in state: Minister

The <keyword id="68884" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="telangana" source="Orion">Telangana</keyword> government and Formula E Association along with promoter of the event, <keyword id="405998" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="greenko" source="Orion">Greenko</keyword> signed a letter of intent to make Hyderabad a candidate host city for hosting Formula E race on yearly basis. The tripartite letter of intent was signed in Hyderabad in the presence of Telangana's Industry Minister <keyword id="3863563" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="k-t-rama-rao" source="Orion">K. T. Rama Rao</keyword>, FIA Formula E Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo, Greenko Group Chief Executive Officer Anil Chalamasetty, <keyword id="583864" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mahindra-racing" source="Orion">Mahindra Racing</keyword> CEO and Team Principal Dilbagh Gill and other officials. Hyderabad will join the elite club of Rome, Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York and Berlin. Alberto was impressed with the speed with which the Telangana government moved to sign the letter of intent in less than a month since the idea was mooted. Rama Rao said hosting Formula E is the right step to position Hyderabad as electric vehicles hub. "It's more than a race. It's the perfect combination of future technology, sustainability and most importantly spirit of innovation," he said. He hoped that the event will give a big fillip to the city's image and infrastructure. The state government plans to promote awareness around EVs and encourage innovation by hosting an EV summit parallel to the Formula E championship. Leading EV players and charging infrastructure companies from around the world will be invited for the EV Summit. Stating that India is going to witness revolution of electric vehicles, the minister said Telangana wants to be the epicentre of this revolution. KTR, as the minister is popularly known, said Formula E from FIA family is the fastest growing sport with viewership being more than half of Formula One. He said the popularity of Formula One is increasing every year and it is expected that by the end of the decade, it will equal Formula One in the popularity. He said Hyderabad has everything in place to host the event. "Hyderabad is the most logical and natural choice to host Formula E," he said. The minister claimed that Telangana has done extremely well in 7.5 years in meeting energy challenges. The state's energy output grew four-fold in 7 years and 20 per cent of this came from green energy. He also pointed out that in seven years, the state planted more than 2 billion saplings. More than 80 per cent of these saplings survived, taking green cover to a massive 632 square kilometers in last two years. KTR said among Indian cities Hyderabad has highest greening in last decade. The green cover grew by 147 per cent, beating Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Telangana's Director for Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Systems Sujai Karampuri hoped that an agreement to make Hyderabad an official host city will be signed in next 90 days or much earlier. He pointed out that 60 cities around the world were vying to host Formula E and of them 24 cities are really strong candidates. He said the organisers were impressed with the 2.3 km long race track overlooking Hussain Sagar lake in the heart of the city. Gill, who heads the only Indian team participating in Formula E race, said they will soon have an opportunity to race in front of the home crowd. According to him, Formula E is significant as technology transfer from race car to roll car happens in 18 months. Hyderabad first Indian city to host Formula E, an electric car championship

Hyderabad, May 12 () T-Works, a Telangana governmentstart-up incubator for hardware industry, on Tuesday enteredinto an agreement with Bhagwati Products Ltd, part ofMicromax group, for manufacturing mechanical ventilator beingdeveloped for Covid-19 patients.As part of the MoU, Micromax would be taking upproduction of the device at its manufacturing facility in E-City, Maheswaram in Ranga Reddy District, an official releasesaid.The ventilator was successfully demonstrated to doctorsfrom NIMS (Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences) and toTelangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao on April 20. The affordable mechanical ventilator was developed incollaboration with hardware start-ups and corporates from thecity, including Qualcomm, Honeywell, Spectrochem Instruments,Entesla, Althion, Trishula and ConserVision, it said. The team is currently focused on incorporating theadvanced features that are useful for medical professionals. "We are happy to have Micromax on board with us for thedevelopment of the emergency use ventilator.With their manufacturing expertise and advance onlicensing fee, we will be able to deliver the best-in-classventilator for COVID-19 in a short time frame," CEO of T-Works, Sujai Karampuri said."We are excited to partner with the Telangana State inproviding low cost Ventilators in these times of crises,"Co-founder of Micromax and chairman of Bhagwati ProductsLimited, Rajesh Agarwal said.The device will now go through testing and certificationfollowed by clinical validation.It is anticipated to be used to fulfill the demand duringemergency pandemic situations, the release added.
