T-Angel will select 30 early stage startups across healthcare, real estate, entertainment, sports, education and finance. They will be put them through a three-month acceleration programme, and the top 10 startups of the batch will receive funding. With four such programmes in a year, T-Hub aims to fund 40 startups. T-Angel is only the first in a series of funding programmes by Telangana to boost investments. “Over the last three years, the Telangana government has been constantly building the right elements to create an ecosystem for startups that allows them to scale with speed. The quantum of funds received by startups in Telangana has grown significantly too, we now see this only increases with the quality of startups the state has gathered,” said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary Industries and IT, Telangana State. T-Hub which is a public-private partnership runs accelerator programmes with many companies, including social media giant Facebook. Through bootcamps and workshops, T-Hub will also ensure that a startup is <keyword id="6355120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="investment">investment</keyword> ready, by providing access to investment partners. Hyderabad which was formerly known for its IT sector, is also pushing for growth in innovation centers and startups. Bigwigs like Amazon, Apple, Microsoft have set-up their India offices in the city.

Telangana government and T-Hub announce a new funding program for early stage startups

Telangana CM <keyword id="80355" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="K-Chandrasekhar-Rao">K Chandrasekhar Rao</keyword> is now in trouble as a case has been registered against him for alleged illegal tapping of phone calls of his Andhra Pradesh counterpart <keyword id="6354350" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Chandrababu-Naidu">Chandrababu Naidu</keyword> in the wake of the cash-for-votes scam. 
 

	The case has been registered against KCR under Sections 464, 647, 471, 166, 167 and 120/B of IPC, according to a PTI report. 
	 

	Inspector of III-Town Police Station, B Tirumala Rao, said a Vizag-based advocate NVV Prasad has lodged a complaint against KCR for violating the basic rights of the Andhra Pradesh chief minister and "tarnishing" his image by tapping his telephone lines. 
	 

	In his complaint, the assistant Public Prosecutor accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) of deliberately trying to snoop on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) members. 
	 

	Meanwhile, a conversation in an audio tape between Chandrababu Naidu and nominated MLA Elvys Stephenson, aired in a section of local TV channels has given a new twist to the cash-for-votes controversy. On Sunday, <keyword id="2889050" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Parakala-Prabhakar-Advisor">Parakala Prabhakar Advisor</keyword> (Communications) to the Andhra government strongly denied all such reports saying that the tapes were fabricated. The conversation suggested that the <keyword id="209302" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Andhra-chief-minister">Andhra chief minister</keyword> was giving "assurance of all sorts" to the MLA if he votes for TDP nominee in the Telangana Legislative Council election. Prabhakar further alleged that the <keyword id="541763" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Telangana-Government">Telangana government</keyword> is only trying to malign the image of Naidu by resorting to such cheap tactics. "It is not the chief minister's conversation. How come they are available outside. The Telangana government has to give answer to this. The Telangana CM and home minister should give answers," Parakala said.

 This comes on the backdrop of mounting losses reported by the revenue department, thanks to the nationwide lockdown that has put a halt to all the services. That accounts to ₹12,000 crore. “The state treasury needs to get Rs 12,000 crore since March 15. Everything is shut — petrol, GST, excise. So, we may have to cut salaries of MLAs and government employees. People have to cooperate – we are in a crisis, this is not a luxury. You have to eat half of what you were eating before,” Rao said. However, the least affected would be the contractual employees — who will have to share 10% of their pay. The move will also impact the employees of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and other government aided institutions — including Human Rights Commission. “For all public sector undertakings and institutions that are receiving government grants employees, like government employees and retirees, there will be a cut in their salaries,” the statement noted. The state government said that it will contribute nearly ₹500 crore to tackle the pandemic. However, they might need to spend more as the number of infections spiked to 71, leaving eight dead, as on Monday (March 30). Eat half of what you’re now eating, says Telangana CM who cuts government salaries and pensions

Concerned over the spike in Covid-19 cases, the <keyword id="541763" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana-Government">Telangana government</keyword> on Tuesday announced that it is temporarily shutting down the schools from Wednesday. Education Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy made the announcement in the <keyword id="6354702" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="assembly">Assembly</keyword>. She said the government decided to shut down the schools in the interest of the health of students and teachers and also keeping in view the requests from the parents. The minister said the decision was taken as a measure to prevent the spread of Covid. The orders will apply to all government and private educational institutions, hostels and <keyword id="1103013" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="residential-schools">residential schools</keyword>. Indra Reddy said the online classes will be conducted for students. She noted that Covid cases are on the rise across the country and there is a surge in cases in <keyword id="68884" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana">Telangana</keyword>'s neighbouring states. Covid cases were detected in some schools in the state. More than 200 students, teachers and other staff of various residential schools in Telangana tested positive for Covid over last one week. Telangana shuts down schools as COVID-19 cases rise

With a vision to make <keyword id="68884" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Telangana">Telangana</keyword> a commercial hub for all space-related products and services, the state government has decided to formulate a space-tech policy framework. The policy aims to push domestic production of launch vehicles, satellite systems and sub-systems and ground equipment manufacturing. State's Principal Secretary, Industry and Commerce, <keyword id="130896" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jayesh-Ranjan">Jayesh Ranjan</keyword>, said on Sunday that Telangana is creating a holistic framework to develop end-to-end spacetech ecosystem in the state and attempt to capture the emerging global opportunities in space-related investments and innovations. This can potentially create a trickle-down impact on other areas of innovation such as universal connectivity and big data analytics for agriculture, remote education, disaster management, he said. Equal emphasis would be given to downstream applications of remote sensing that have the potential to solve real-life problems in agriculture, disaster management, insurance, urban flood modeling and forestry. The Centre's Department of Space recently released the draft Spacecom policy 2020 and draft SpaceRS policy 2020. Officials said states can significantly contribute to achieving the national objectives like "Atmanirbhar Bharat". Telangana is already home to several renowned start-ups such as Skyroot, Dhruva and other major companies in the spacetech sector. Telangana government to formulate a space-tech policy framework

New Delhi, Feb 19 () IT services firm Tech Mahindra on Wednesday announced on Wednesday the launch of T-Block Accelerator, an accelerator programme for Telangana Blockchain District. The programme has been launched in partnership with the Telangana government and innovation management firm IBC Media. The launch of T-Block is a step in continuation of the Telangana government's endeavour to make Telangana as the 'Blockchain Capital of the World', a statement said. A pact had been signed between the Government of Telangana and Tech Mahindra to this effect in 2018, it added. "This initiative is aimed at start-ups that have a strong blockchain use-case, thereby accelerating the start-up growth and therein contributing to the growth of the overall industry," the statement said. Blockchains can broadly be defined as a new type of network infrastructure (a way to organise how information and value moves around on the internet) that create "trust" in networks by introducing distributed verifiability, auditability, and consensus. Blockchain is seen as a technology with the potential to transform almost all industries and economies. Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary (information technology, electronics and communications department) in the Government of Telangana, said the accelerator will be a "torch-bearer" to multiple future blockchain accelerators in the country. "Through this initiative, Tech Mahindra will enable creation of an ecosystem which will empower start-ups to solve tough business problems for clients across diverse industry verticals. The Telangana government will help provide the required regulatory framework to enable and promote Blockchain growth," the statement said. Rajesh Dhuddu, global practice leader (blockchain) at Tech Mahindra, said the company aims to build a world-class support infrastructure for blockchain start-ups and make Hyderabad a destination of choice among several new-age entrepreneurs and blockchain evangelists. Telangana govt, Tech Mahindra to launch blockchain district accelerator programme

H0yderabad, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday announced 30 per cent salary hike for all the government employees and teachers under the 11th Pay Revision Commission (PRC). He told the <keyword id="6671774" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="state-legislative-assembly">State Legislative Assembly</keyword> that the orders will come into force with effect from April 1, 2021. He also announced raising the superannuation age for employees and teachers up to 61 years. In 2018 election manifesto, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (<keyword id="43749" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="TRS">TRS</keyword>) had promised to increase retirement age from 58 to 61 years. The salary hike will benefit around 9.17 lakh employees working the state. Unlike in the past when pay revision was given to only regular employees, the government decided to implement the PRC recommendations for contract and outsourcing employees, homeguards, Anganwadi and <keyword id="6402431" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="asha">ASHA</keyword> workers, SERP employees, Vidya Volunteers, <keyword id="6398301" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="KGBV">KGBV</keyword> and <keyword id="53505" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SSA">SSA</keyword> employees, grant-in-aid, work charged and daily wage employees. KCR, as Rao is popularly known, announced increasing the gratuity at retirement for the employees from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh. The government also decided to to reduce the age limit from 75 years to 70 years for 15 per cent additional quantum of pension to the retired government employees and teachers. The government has decided to extend family pension policy to the family members of the CPS (Contributory Pension Scheme) employees who died while on duty. The chief minister said the government employees, teachers who played an inspirational role in achieving Telangana state, are participating with same commitment in the development of own state and with their co-operation, the fruits of welfare and development are reaching the people successfully. "In view of inexhaustible relation the government is having with employees, Telangana government is acting as employee's friendly government. It respects the rights of all employees," he said. KCR recalled that after the formation of Telangana state, his government announced special increment by appreciating role played by employees in the movement. By revising the 10th pay scales in 2014 by announcing the highest hike of 43 per cent, Telangana government showed its admiration it has on employees of state. He said as the Covid-19 pandemic shattered the state economy leading to unexpected fiscal deficit, 11th pay revision was delayed. KCR said while revising the pay scales of government employees, the government kept in view the necessities and situations of other employees who are rendering their services at ground level and increased their pays scales with a humanitarian perspective. "This time also government by revising the pay scales of employees, teachers and pensioners, took a decision to increase the salaries of contract employees, outsourcing employees, Home Guards, Anganwadis, Asha Workers, SERP Employees, Vidya Volunteers, KGBV, Sarva Siksha Abhiyaan employees, VRAs, VAOs, Grant in Aid, Work charged, daily wage and other employees i.e., totalling about 9,17,797 employees who are working as part of Government machinery," he said. Stating that 80 per cent of promotion process of employees is completed, he said the government will immediately start the promotion process of remaining eligible employees along with eligible teachers. Government will shortly start the process of filling of vacancies created by promotions. He also announced that the government has constituted a steering committee with employees associations, government officials as stake holders for evolving the new modalities of Employees Health Scheme (EHS) as per the PRC committee recommendations. He said the government will give permission to the Andhra Pradesh teachers who are working in the Telangana to return to their home state. The government has decided to provide 180 days maternity leave along with wages to the KGBV Women Staff.

Telangana announces 30% salary hike for 9.17 lakh employees under 11th Pay Revision Commission

Rama Rao said he was super excited to break the ground for Google's largest campus outside of their headquarters at Mountain View, the US. The building prioritises sustainability and energy efficiency throughout its design. Upon commissioning, it will offer a highly skilled tech workforce a healthy, collaborative workplace that is both resilient and adaptable, designed to serve the city for years to come, Google said. "I am pleased that Google is deepening its roots in <keyword id="6354552" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hyderabad" source="Orion">Hyderabad</keyword> through this landmark building which incorporates sustainability into its design, keeping in mind Hyderabad's large and future-focused talent pool," said Rama Rao, who unveiled the building design at a ceremony held onsite. The campus was originally planned as a 2 million square facility with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. An agreement was signed between the Telangana government and Google in 2015 when Rama Rao had visited the company headquarters in California. Google currently operates out of a leased facility in Kondapur in Hyderabad and employs about 7,000 people. The new campus, which was earlier expected to be ready in 2019, is likely to nearly double the headcount. Meanwhile, Google on Thursday signed an MoU with the Telangana government to support and accelerate its vision of leveraging technology for sustainable economic development and inclusive social development. Under this new initiative, Google will collaborate with the government through its various arms to extend scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana's youth, support women entrepreneurs through digital, business and financial skills training, and strengthen the government's school modernisation efforts with digital teaching and learning tools and solutions. As part of the joint effort, Google will also support the Telangana government's efforts to improve public transportation and use of digital technologies in agriculture. KTR, as the minister is popularly called, noted that Google has been working with the Telangana government since 2017, using its solutions to support "our vision of a Digital Telangana and furthering our mutual aim of making every citizen digitally empowered". "Our previous MoUs with them have resulted in some great initiatives that have positively affected citizens from all walks of life. This time we are focusing on making a step-change in communities such as youth, women, and students and in citizen services," he said. Google begins building its largest campus outside US headquarters in Hyderabad
