During the episode, host James Lipton asked each of the show's five main actors - Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan, and Jason Segel - to choose their favorite scenes from the show.
Here's what they said: 
Neil Patrick Harris: Season 5, Episode 12 "<a href="http://www.cbs.com/shows/how_i_met_your_mother/episodes/39520">Girls vs. Suits</a>"
Harris' favorite moment was when he broke out in song and dance to "Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit" on the series' 100th episode after a girl asked him to ditch his suits. 

Alyson Hannigan: Season 6, Episode 13 "<a href="http://www.cbs.com/shows/how_i_met_your_mother/episodes/52249">Bad News</a>"
In an episode that counted down the moment until fans heard the "bad news," Hannigan recalled the moment Lily told her husband Marshall his father passed away after. 

Jason Segel: Season 1, Episode 7 "<a href="http://how-i-met-your-mother.wikia.com/wiki/Matchmaker">Matchmaker</a>"
Segel recounted when his character Marshall discovered a hybrid creature - a mix between a cockroach and a mouse (cockamouse) - in his apartment. 
Cobie Smulders: Season 5, Episode 17 "<a href="http://www.cbs.com/shows/how_i_met_your_mother/episodes/40714">Of Course</a>"
Early in the episode, Marshall and Ted make Robin feel awful by singing a song - "Bang, Bang, Bangity Bang" - about how many women Barney (her ex at the time) had been seeing. At the episode's end, after Robin goes on a date and has an awesome time, everyone except Barney joins in on singing the song. 

Josh Radnor: Season 3, Episode 13 "<a href="http://www.cbs.com/shows/how_i_met_your_mother/episodes/596">Ten Sessions</a>"
Radnor's favorite moment was when he took his girlfriend Stella on a 2-minute speed date.

'How I Met Your Mother' Cast Reveals Their Favorite Scenes From The Show

One thing's certain: the story won't revolve around any of the original cast. We won't see Barney, Robin, Marshall, Lily, Ted, OR the mother.
Don't plan on any crossovers either.
<a href="http://www.thewrap.com/how-i-met-your-mother-himym-spinoff-carter-bays-craig-thomas-cbs" target="_blank">According to The Wrap</a>, <keyword id="1845522" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="HIMYM">HIMYM</keyword> series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas revealed at a press event this will be something completely original. 
"If this new show goes next year, it will be a brand new show. It will be a brand new story," Bays said. "We kind of didn't want it to have any feeling of trying to resuscitate something that has already ended."
Thomas said they wished they could use Cristin Miloti who plays the (so far) nameless mother this season, but that they want this show to be its own thing without any ties to the original (well, other than the title).
"In the fall, if we succeed with the spinoff, we will have to make our case to the audience in a whole new way, with a whole new world, with whole new characters. And that feels right; we want to honor '<keyword id="219771" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="How-I-Met-Your-Mother">How I Met Your Mother</keyword>' with the cleanest ending possible. And then, should [the spinoff] go forward, that will have to earn the love again in a new way and just be its own charming, different thing."
If you think you'll just be seeing the same exact story from a woman's point of view, Bays hinted the show will have a twist that makes HIMYF "a totally different show."
