"We believe it is possible to have privacy and a thriving, free, ad-supported Internet. We continue to believe personalised ads and privacy can coexist," he stressed. His remarks were first shared last month during a virtual discussion hosted by The Atlantic as part of The Atlantic Ideas Festival. According to Egan, personalisation also made it easier to show ads without disrupting the user experience. "The rise of personalized advertising has brought its own controversies, of course. Many of those have focused on privacy and data use, which is the area I cover at Facebook. And, as you know, the past few years have seen other concerns emerge, especially around particular kinds of ads, like political ads," he said. Facebook believes that personalised advertising provides the best experience for people and the best value for businesses -- particularly small businesses, which make up the vast majority of Facebook's nine million active advertisers across its services. New Delhi, Jul 15 () The RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group on Wednesday said it has acquired a majority stake in video-based news app Editorji Technologies Pvt Ltd, a move that marks its foray into the digital news media space. RP-Sanjiv Goenka (RPSG) Group has acquired 51 per cent stake through a combination of primary and secondary transaction in Editorji Technologies, started by former chief executive officer of NDTV Ltd Vikram Chandra, said a statement. However, the group did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. "I am delighted with the transaction as this investment marks our foray into digital news media space. I believe Editorji is a promising platform to build significant digital media business," RPSG Group chairman Sanjiv Goenka said. The USD 6 billion RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, sees India as an untapped media market. Extramarks, in partnership with IIIT-Delhi, will set up a research laboratory in Computer Science Department which will be dedicated to the task of creating new breakthroughs in the area of 'AI in Education', a company release said. "This partnership opens the doors of constructive research for our students, who will benefit greatly from the practical experience they will gain from engaging with Extramarks. Together, we hope to lead the revolution in education delivery from the front," IIIT-Delhi Director Ranjan Bose said. This collaboration is hopeful of making education delivery more personalised, interactive and effective, the release added. "Having already successfully implemented AI in our school and app-based learning content, we are now keen to implement futuristic technology which will cause innovative disruptions in education delivery to help students learn in a personalized and independent environment. Our partnership with IIIT-Delhi is a step in the same direction," said Ritvik Kulshrestha, CEO, Extramarks Education. DRR RVK
