She described the race for the best AI model as "heated" and said TeamViewer worked with third-party partners to leverage their strengths.The following has been edited for clarity and length.How does AI fit into your day-to-day workflow?My primary focus is building products like our remote connectivity solutions and Frontline products.AI is integrated across the company, not just in our customer-facing products but also for internal use in areas like research or code reviews.We have a strong data foundation, emphasizing <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-to-know-about-sec-cybersecurity-rules-and-guidance">data policies and governance</a>, especially due to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-gdpr-regulation-explained-2018-4">GDPR concerns in Germany</a>, where TeamViewer is based. Internal AI usage is governed by policies to protect confidential data, which also influences how we implement AI at the product level.Does TeamViewer place any one person in charge of the AI vision, or is the approach collaborative?It's a collaborative effort. Different departments use AI in ways that suit their specific needs. The marketing, sales, and development teams have different goals.Our legal and data teams provide overarching guidelines, but the adoption isn't top-down.TeamViewer just launched its first product powered by generative AI. Can you elaborate on it?We launched Session Insights, an add-on for our TeamViewer Remote and Tensor products. It uses generative AI to capture and summarize support sessions in a text-based log.Typically, support agents manually write up what occurred during a TeamViewer session, which can be time-consuming. Session Insights automates the process, generating detailed summaries that save time and improve accuracy.It also provides analytics to identify common support issues and help build knowledge bases for future use.How do you articulate the value generative AI brings? What are the specific metrics you're looking at?For Session Insights, we worked with our customers in beta to make sure we understood the business value and return on investment.At this point, I think any company can leverage a language model and see some "wow" factor. But we need to clearly articulate the business value.For a client providing support through TeamViewer, it means productivity gains. Can you take on more tickets? How much time can you save by not writing a summary?For the person receiving support, it means time to resolution: How long does it take for the person receiving support to be satisfied?You mentioned GDPR. How does TeamViewer ensure security and privacy when using generative AI in a product?We use a multitenant cloud. AI processing is confined within each tenant's environment, and administrators have full control over which sessions can use AI features. Customers can decide where and how their content is stored, ensuring data isn't intermingled.Users also need to be informed, so a notification lets them know when a session is being recorded or processed by AI.And we fully encrypt content and implement data anonymization before any AI processing to protect personally identifiable information, even within the same company.Does the company work with third-party partners to create new AI features, and if so, which companies?We don't develop our own AI models. We have a multipartner approach, working with partners like Google, OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, Meta, and so on. We evaluate which model is the best for quality and which is the most economical.

Remote workplace connectivity provider <keyword id="1567606" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="teamviewer" source="Orion">TeamViewer</keyword> on Thursday announced to appoint <keyword id="14209868" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rupesh-lunkad" source="Orion">Rupesh Lunkad</keyword> as Managing Director for its India operations. Lunkad, who worked with leading tech firms like SAP India and Wipro, will succeed Krunal Patel, who has been at the helm in India since 2018. "With his strong sales leadership, immense technology expertise, and deep understanding of driving business in the region, we are certain that he will enable us to expand our footprint in the India market and create a strong ecosystem of alliances with our partners," said Sojung Lee, President-Asia Pacific, TeamViewer. At SAP India, Lunkad was responsible for go-to-market strategies for new business verticals as well as for strategic initiatives leveraging its partner ecosystem for business development and expansion. He also introduced and fronted SAP's S/4HANA cloud business in India. At Wipro, he served in several leadership roles with enterprise sales and business responsibility. "TeamViewer is a pioneer in remote connectivity and now also leading in digital workplace solutions based on Augmented Reality. Over the years, the company has demonstrated its capabilities to support India's growing digital economy," said Lunkad. TeamViewer, free of charge for private use, has more than 625,000 subscribers. Remote connectivity platform TeamViewer appoints new India business head

'<keyword id="400044" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="freedom-at-midnight" source="Orion">Freedom at Midnight</keyword>', a <keyword id="6785745" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-web-series" source="Orion">new web series</keyword> about the Partition of India, based on the book of same name by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins, is currently in the works. The show, described as an epic political thriller/drama that highlights several incidents from the year of India's independence and interconnected stories about crucial events and personalities who played a significant role in writing the country's history as we know today. The series will see 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' director Nikkhil Advani as the show runner with the story penned by Abhinandan Gupta, Adwitiya Kareng Das and Gundeep Kaur. Commenting on the development, Nikkhil said in a statement, "The year 1947 has been etched in India's history as the year that shaped its fate. A riveting, emotional tale of an incident that altered the course of the nation, 'Freedom at Midnight' is an attempt to bring to Indians the whole truth about the events that led us to our freedom - the courage, and the hope instilled in people by the personages who gave us the new India." StudioNext and Emmay Entertainment (Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani) have joined the forces on the project to co-produce the same. Once ready, the series will stream on OTT platform SonyLIV, which recently clocked 18.2 million subscribers placing it as India's second largest video-on-demand or SVoD service only after Disney+ Hotstar, media report said. The most famous book on Indian independence 'Freedom at midnight' to be made into a web series

Cyber security researchers have found a <keyword id="9994130" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-trojan-malware">new Trojan malware</keyword> named Alien that can steal credentials from 226 Android apps in several countries including in India. Alien targeted other apps as well like Gmail, Facebook, Telegram, Twitter, Snapchat and WhatsApp. Most targets are banking apps, but Alien can also show phishing pages for social, instant messaging, and cryptocurrency apps, reports ZDNet. The <keyword id="9994132" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="alien-malware">Alien malware</keyword> is a rented banking Trojan which offers more than the average capabilities of Android banking Trojans. According to security researchers from ThreatFabric, it has common capabilities such as overlay attacks, control and steal SMS messages and harvest the contact list. The malware can leverage its keylogger for any use and, therefore, broaden the attack scope further than its target list. "It also offers the possibility to install, start and remove applications from the infected device". Most importantly, it offers a notifications sniffer, allowing it to get the content of all notifications on the infected device, and a RAT (Remote Access Trojan) feature (by abusing the TeamViewer application), meaning that the threat actors can perform the fraud from the victim's device. According to cyber security researchers, Alien is not a new piece of code but based on the source code of a rival malware named Cerberus which was an active malware-as-a-service (MaaS) last year. "We also notice an interest from actors in recording and stealing more information surrounding the victim. How that information will be used or monetized can vary, it is just a matter of time before actors find out about the value of such information," the researchers noted in a blog post. The last quarter of 2020 will probably come with some additional changes to the threat landscape, especially since the source code of the Cerberus Trojan has been made publicly available. In the coming months, we can definitively expect some new malware families, based on Cerberus, to emerge, the researchers added. "We strongly recommend all financial institutions to understand their current and future threat exposure and consequently implement the relevant detection and control mechanisms". Legg Mason Global Asset ManagementMichael Testorf is one of the managers of the ClearBridge International Growth Fund<ul class="summary-list"><li>International fund manager Michael Testorf gave Business Insider tips on how he's constructing a diversified portfolio in a world reshaped by the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/china-virus-everything-we-know-deadly-2019-ncov-wuhan-spread-2020-1">COVID-19 pandemic</a>.</li><li>Testorf is one of the managers of the ClearBridge International Growth Fund, which Kiplinger ranks as the best international large-cap mutual fund of the last 10 years. </li><li>Testorf says the fund continued to beat its peers in the first quarter when markets melted down. It was already in the process of shifting to a more defensive approach.</li><li><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/?hprecirc-bullet">Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories</a>.</li></ul>Michael Testorf's fund was one of the world's best for almost the entire length of the now-departed bull market, but he's not dwelling on the past.Testorf is one of the managers of the <a href="https://www.morningstar.com/funds/xnas/lggax/people">ClearBridge International Growth Fund</a>, which Kiplinger ranks as <a href="https://www.kiplinger.com/tool/investing/T041-S001-top-performing-mutual-funds/index.php?table_select=IntlDiv">the best international diversified large company fund</a> over the previous decade. In a market that's changed dramatically, Testorf says the fund is still ahead of its peers."We had a decent outperformance for the first quarter," he told Business Insider in an exclusive interview. "A little bit more than 5%."The main reason is that some of the fund's investments had reached their targets, and they'd started to shift their portfolio away from cyclical stocks and toward companies with business models that are more steady and defensive. He offers two keys to its performance over the decade: An emphasis on quality, and a strict approach to prices."Quality means, for us, one being is strong balance sheet, meaning relatively little debt, having a strong business model, and good cash flow generation," he said. "We don't want to overpay for growth because overpaying for growth ... will lead to losses."The fund's investments <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-global-stock-picks-for-the-next-decade-elisa-mazen-2020-1">typically consist of high-potential "emerging growth" companies, trend-based "structural growth" companies, and steady "secular growth" names</a>.Thanks to the recent meltdown and some investments that achieved the manager's goals, the International Growth Fund today has more cash than usual - about 4% instead of the typical 1% - and is leaning more on the structural and secular growth companies and de-emphasizing emerging growth.Testorf told Business Insider about some of his strongest convictions about the portfolio today. Those include three investments - each in a different country and a different sector - that he has the most confidence in, one where he's preparing take advantage of a recent stock slump, and one he had no choice but to sell.<h2>The favorites</h2>Testorf explains that Swiss drugmaker <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/roche-stock">Roche</a> could beat the market during an ugly earnings period."I'm a little bit worried about what happens in the quarter one earnings season," he said. "I think the big pharma companies should do relatively well."At the same time, he says the company has a "very, very strong" pipeline that will help ease its path after some key patent expirations, and the market is underestimating Roche's earnings power. That's part of the reason it's the largest investment in his fund.His second pick, German tech company <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/teamviewer-stock">TeamViewer</a>, is something of an international answer to Zoom, which has soared in the era of social distancing - but <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/zoom-video-stock-price-credit-suisse-sell-now-coronavirus-competition-2020-4-1029068363">where experts are starting to think the enthusiasm has gone too far</a>.Testorf breaks down TeamViewer's business into three areas: Videoconferencing, remote help desks, and remote workplace log-ins."You remotely log into your work PC. That's what I do now every single day. Also a lot of people use it personally. ... It's freemium model."He says the company has about 340 million active users, and similar to Zoom, a vast majority are using a free version. But its profits could explode if it starts converting more of those users to paid versions."I think that is one where you will not see earnings disappointment," he said. "There's so many new clients particular in Asia ... that it's fair to believe their quarter one numbers will be very strong, and the upcoming quarters should be also very, very strong going forward.Another company going through big changes because of the pandemic is <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/zoom-video-stock-price-credit-suisse-sell-now-coronavirus-competition-2020-4-1029068363">Arco</a>, a Brazilian educational software company. Testorf says about a million private school students already attended class through its platforms, and more private and public schools are now testing Arco's services as a result of the outbreak and lockdowns."Arco just introduced the platform to a lot of other new schools which were not able to provide a virtual class offering," he said. "It could also be a potential COVID-19 winner."In the meantime he sees the company as a safe investment because of its extensive contracts, its status as an acquirer of rivals in a fragmented industry, and the emphasis parents place on education."It's a very defensive name in Latin America," he said.<h2>The opportunity</h2>British pest control company <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/rentokil_initial-stock">Rentokil</a> has been included in the International Growth fund for years, and Testorf praises its "super high-quality top management" and free cashflow generation.Because they're rigorous about refusing to overpay for growth, he and his fellow managers recently cut their investment in the company in half because its stock price had climbed to a fair value. Unexpectedly, it's plunged with the rest of the market, and he says he might add to his position again."Now, we're in a position where we have upside again, and if that one comes down further, I'm happy to buy that," he said. "We have a clear concept what we want to buy at which kind of price, and that's what we're waiting for."<h2>The exit</h2>Testorf praises <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/hdb-stock">HDFC Bank</a> as a good long-term stock, but recently closed his position because there's simply too much uncertainty surrounding the company today.
