The company had reported a net profit of Rs 336 crore in the January-March period of the previous fiscal. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 10,042 crore in the period under review compared with Rs 8,031 crore in the fourth quarter of FY23. In the fourth quarter, the company said its overall two-wheeler and three-wheeler sales, including exports, grew by 22 per cent to 10.63 lakh units compared to 8.68 lakh units in the same period of the 2022-23 fiscal. For the year ended on March 31, 2024, the company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,686 crore as against Rs 1,329 crore a year ago. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 39,145 crore in FY24 over Rs 31,974 crore in the 2022-23 fiscal. The company said it recorded its highest-ever revenue and profit in FY24. <keyword id="46156" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="TVS-Motor" source="Orion">TVS Motor</keyword> also witnessed record sales of over 40 lakh units in a financial year. During the year ended March 31, 2024, its overall two- and three-wheeler sales grew by 14 per cent to 41.91 lakh units as against 36.82 lakh units in the 2022-23 fiscal. Shares of the company on Wednesday ended 1.29 per cent higher at Rs 2,006.15 apiece on the BSE. TVS Motor Company net profit rises 15% to ₹387 crore in March quarter

<keyword id="20326515" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pidilite-Industries" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Pidilite Industries" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Pidilite Industries">Pidilite Industries</keyword>, which makes adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals, has reported a 6.44 per cent rise in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 304.28 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 2024. The company posted a consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 285.86 crore in the same quarter last year. For the full 2023-24 fiscal, its PAT stood at Rs 1,747 crore, which was 36 per cent higher compared to a year ago. Addressing an earnings call on Wednesday, the company's Managing Director Bharat Puri shared that the full-year revenue was underpinned by distribution expansion supply chain and digital initiatives. The company's total income for the quarter under review rose to Rs 2,950.73 crore as against Rs 2,712.07 crore a year ago, according to a regulatory filing. However, its total expenses also rose to Rs 2,450.87 crore in the January-March period from Rs 2,318,09 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. For the full financial year 2023-24, the company's total income stood at Rs 12,522.64 crore as against Rs 11,848.71 crore in the previous fiscal. Puri informed that the company incurred a loss of nearly Rs 72 crore shown as an exceptional item in the consolidated results released in a regulatory filing on Tuesday evening on account of divestment of its Brazilian subsidiary. Pidilite Industries Q4 profit rises to ₹304 crore

The <keyword id="19949639" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rupee" source="keywords">rupee</keyword> settled for the day on a flat note at 83.51 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday, as the support from easing <keyword id="20024983" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="crude-oil-prices" source="keywords">crude oil prices</keyword> was negated by strong dollar demand. <keyword id="19950258" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="forex" source="keywords">Forex</keyword> traders said a muted trend in domestic equities and significant <keyword id="20520117" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="foreign-fund-outflows" source="keywords">foreign fund outflows</keyword> dented investors' sentiments. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit traded in a narrow range. It opened at 83.50, and touched an intraday high of 83.49 and a low of 83.52 during the day. The local unit finally settled for the day at 83.51 (provisional), unchanged from its previous close. On Tuesday, the rupee closed at 83.51 against the American currency. "The Indian rupee traded flat to negative on weak domestic markets and strong US dollar. FII outflows also weighed on the rupee. However, a decline in crude oil prices cushioned the downside," said Anuj Choudhary, Research Analyst, Sharekhan by BNP Paribas. "We expect the rupee to trade with a slight negative bias amid strength in the greenback and continued selling pressure by foreign investors. Positive global equities may support riskier currencies. "Weakness in crude oil prices may support rupee at lower levels. USD-INR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 83.30 to Rs 83.75," Choudhary added. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was at 105.53, higher by 0.12 per cent as the US dollar gained on hawkish Fedspeak and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, fell 1.37 per cent to <keyword id="19944038" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="USD" source="keywords">USD</keyword> 82.02 per barrel. On the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex fell 45.46 points, or 0.06 per cent to close at 73,466.39 points. The broader NSE Nifty settled flat at 22,302.50 points. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets on Tuesday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 3,668.84 crore, according to exchange data. Rupee settles on flat note at 83.51 against US dollar

The <keyword id="19949639" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rupee" source="keywords">rupee</keyword> was trading in a narrow range against the US <keyword id="19904292" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dollar" source="keywords">dollar</keyword> in early trade on Monday, tracking a weak trend in domestic equities and strong American currency. <keyword id="19950258" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="forex" source="keywords">Forex</keyword> traders said with foreign investors buying US dollars and the <keyword id="19899810" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reserve-Bank-of-India" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Reserve Bank of India" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Reserve Bank of India">Reserve Bank of India</keyword> (<keyword id="19899808" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBI" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="RBI" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="RBI">RBI</keyword>) selling the greenback, the USD/INR pair is expected to remain range-bound with a bit of a weakness bias. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit moved in a narrow range. It opened at 83.51 against the American currency and touched 83.52 in initial trade, registering a fall of 1 paisa from its previous close. On Friday, the rupee closed at 83.51 against the American currency. "Despite short-term pressures on the rupee, major global factors such as the Israel-Iran conflict and oil prices are normalising. Consequently, considering internal factors like the Lok Sabha elections passing, the rupee is poised to align with its robust fundamentals," CR Forex Advisors MD-Amit Pabari said. The downside risk for the rupee is limited at 83.60. It is anticipated to appreciate to levels between 83 and 83.20 in the near term, with medium-term appreciation ranging from 82.80 to 82.50, Pabari added. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was at 105.32, higher by 0.02 per cent. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, fell 0.31 per cent to <keyword id="19944038" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="USD" source="keywords">USD</keyword> 82.53 per barrel. On the domestic equity market, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 414.63 points, or 0.57 per cent lower at 72,249.84 points. The broader NSE Nifty was down 105.60 points, or 0.48 per cent, to 21,949.60 points. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital markets on Friday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 2,117.50 crore, according to exchange data. Meanwhile, after three consecutive weeks of drop, India's forex reserves increased by USD 3.668 billion to USD 641.59 billion in the week ended May 3, the RBI said on Friday. The overall kitty dropped USD 2.412 billion to USD 637.922 billion for the previous week ended April 26. Rupee trades in narrow range against US dollar in early trade

<keyword id="19948209" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="two-wheeler" source="keywords">Two-wheeler</keyword> maker <keyword id="19983534" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hero-MotoCorp" source="keywords">Hero MotoCorp</keyword> Ltd on Wednesday reported a 16.3 per cent rise in consolidated <keyword id="19933742" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="profit" source="keywords">profit</keyword> after tax to Rs 943.46 crore in the fourth quarter ended on March 31, 2024, riding on higher sales. The company had posted a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 810.8 crore in the same period a year ago, Hero MotoCorp said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 9,616.68 crore as against Rs 8,434.28 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, it added. Hero MotoCorp said it sold 13.92 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in <keyword id="20028449" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Q4" source="keywords">Q4</keyword> FY24 as against 12.70 lakh units in Q4 FY23. Total expenses were higher at Rs 8,427.36 crore in the fourth quarter as compared to Rs 7,508.94 crore in the same period a year ago. For the fiscal ended March 31, 2024, consolidated profit after tax was at Rs 3,742.16 crore as compared to Rs 2,799.9 crore in the previous fiscal. Consolidated revenue from operations for FY24 stood at Rs 37,788.62 crore as compared to Rs 34,158.38 crore in FY23, it added. Hero MotoCorp said it sold 56.21 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in FY24 as compared to 53.29 lakh units in FY23. "During the year, our focus on product launches, network upgrades and customer satisfaction drove us to new heights. From the highest number of product launches to the expansion of new format retail outlets and upgrade at super speed, to a digital-first approach in premium, we set the building blocks in place for accelerated growth in future," Hero MotoCorp Chief Executive Officer Niranjan Gupta said. On the outlook, he said, "Moving forward, we expect the macroeconomic factors to aid the industry's growth. With commodity prices remaining stable, expectations of normal monsoons, and government spending expected to increase, we see multiple tailwinds for the sector over the upcoming quarters." Gupta further said the company will be driving market share gains on the back of launches in the premium and 125 cc segment done in FY 24. The company's board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 40 per share on the face value of Rs 2 per equity share subject to approval of the shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting, the filing added. "This dividend together with an interim and special dividend, marking the centennial year of Chairman Emeritus Dr Brijmohan Lall Munjal of Rs.100 per equity share, takes the aggregate total dividend for the year 2023-24 to Rs 140 per equity share," the company said. Hero MotoCorp Q4 PAT up 16.7% at ₹943.46 crore

<keyword id="1999303" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yashasvi-Jaiswal" source="Orion">Yashasvi Jaiswal</keyword>'s Test career is just 17 games old but the great <keyword id="20118658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Brian-Lara" source="keywords">Brian Lara</keyword> feels if there is anyone who can get close to his lofty feats, including the record 400 not out, it is the 22-year-old southpaw from India. Lara's high praise for <keyword id="20066174" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaiswal" source="keywords">Jaiswal</keyword> doesn't come out of the blue. The left two-handers share a special bond, having spent a lot of time over the past year following their "4 am conversation" during the <keyword id="19906063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPL" source="keywords">IPL</keyword> when the West Indian was coaching Sunrisers Hyderabad and the young opener was in the Rajasthan Royals' camp. A lot has changed since IPL 2023 with Jaiswal now becoming an integral part of India's Test and T20 team. His exploits in the longest format stand out as he averages close to 70 with three hundreds including two double tons in the recent home series against England. What has impressed Lara is Jaiswal's ability to change gears as per the situation of the game. "If I feel my records are threatened, Jaiswal has got a very good chance to do so. He has got capabilities, couple of double hundreds already. He is that good," Lara told PTI editors at its headquarters in an interaction arranged by Star Sports where he is a commentator and expert for the ongoing IPL. Lara, who recently turned 55, is one of the all-time greats of the game having amassed close to 12, 000 runs in Tests and over 10,000 runs in ODIs. His record of the highest individual total, 400 not out against England in 2004, still stands tall. Lara fondly looked back at his first meeting with Jaiswal when asked about a light moment they shared on the sidelines of the Rajasthan Royals and SRH clash in the ongoing season. "The only thing I can reveal about that (conversation) is I think he is an outstanding young cricketer. what I like about him is that he is very humble and willing to work. The first time I met him (last year), I immediately found myself attached to him. "After the game (SRH vs Royals), I went to the hotel with a friend of mine from the Caribbean who knew Jos Buttler. It was midnight and Jaiswal found me. I promise you I left the hotel at 4 in the morning. "He just wanted to hear more and more and more. That is one of his amazing traits. His ability to want to learn as much as possible. Our conversations are about trying to make him a better cricketer. I am available for anyone that has my number. I am happy to talk cricket." Being a left-hander himself, it is natural for Lara to be biased towards that tribe. Another southpaw he has great admiration for is <keyword id="19950756" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Abhishek-Sharma" source="keywords">Abhishek Sharma</keyword> with whom he spent time at SRH. "Again he is someone who I met while I was batting coach of SRH. I spent two years there. I am allowed to a bit biased when I see a left-hander, I just love a left-hander. Myself and Abhishek have developed a very good relationship, these youngsters are very humble. they want to learn. "What I like about these two, they want to get to great heights. I have great admiration for both." The legend from Trinidad reckons that usually records are threatened by batters who score quickly and Jaiswal has that ability along with the hunger to bat long. His 400 not out has not been surpassed in 20 years and Lara hopes he is still around to see the day when his record is broken. "I think now, the pace that these guys are batting at. And you look at the guys over the years who have challenged that 300-mark and plus. It's Chris Gayle. It's Virender Sehwag. It's Sanath Jayasuriya, It's Inzamam-ul-Haq. It's Matthew Hayden. These are guys who destroy bowling attacks. "...you would not say that for a Rahul Dravid or Steve Smith in the present case. But a player who likes to score quickly, will have an opportunity. You know, Jaiswal, I mean, I was in Australia when <keyword id="19948689" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="David-Warner" source="keywords">David Warner</keyword> came close and you know, he's an aggressive player. "So I believe yes, I think it will be broken at some point in time. I think it has to be that person's destiny. Everything has to fall into place. And... I look forward to that time. I hope it happens, while I'm still around," he said.
