As per the agreement, PSMC will provide design and construction support to build India's first AI-enabled greenfield fab in Gujarat, license a broad portfolio of technologies and provide engineering support to the fab unit. "We are pleased to partner with PSMC, whose technology and expertise will significantly accelerate our roadmap to pioneer semiconductor manufacturing in India. It will position us to play a key role in the growing semiconductor market to serve global customers," Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said. The company is setting up a chip manufacturing unit in Dholera at an investment of up to Rs 91,000 crore ( about USD 11 billion). Ola wants to re-enter the quick commerce business to take on Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart

<keyword id="2573" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="air-india" source="Orion">Air India</keyword> plans to introduce sophisticated features to its generative artificial intelligence virtual agent that handles more than 6,000 customer queries daily. The Tata Group-owned airline is using ChatGPT to analyse even some complex questions it may not be able to immediately answer to improve customer experience in later interactions and is helping it to become more attuned to natural language. In a release on Friday, Air India said it has become the world's first airline to have successfully deployed a Generative AI virtual agent '<keyword id="6388899" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="maharaja" source="Orion">Maharaja</keyword>', powered by Microsoft's Azure OpenAI service. The agent has successfully answered over half a million customer queries since its pilot launch in March 2023, and today manages over 6,000 queries a day in four languages, the release said. According to the airline, 'Maharaja' manages an extensive spectrum of customer queries across 1,300 areas, including those related to flight status, baggage allowances, packing restrictions, check-in, frequent flyer awards, airport lounge access, flight changes and refunds. The agent speaks Hindi, English, French, and German. "Of the 6,000-plus questions received each day, over 80 per cent are successfully answered in seconds. About 15 per cent of customer queries today require additional assistance, and Maharaja recognises this automatically and orchestrates a seamless handoff to Air India's contact centre agents," the release said. In the coming months, the airline plans to launch a host of sophisticated features, driven by patent-pending technologies. "This includes a novel user experience that changes the way customers interact with AI agents with a combination of textual and graphical interactions that can potentially further speed up customer interactions... Air India also plans to enhance the current AI agent with data-driven deep-personalisation capabilities," the release said. Satya Ramaswamy, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Air India, said that after the emergence of Large Language Model driven generative AI capabilities, it is increasingly seeing a definitive shift in guest preferences to use chat interactions to get the information and support they need quickly. Air India also said that generative AI solutions help automate repetitive and mundane tasks such as booking, cancellation and confirmation, and free up bandwidth for human agents to focus on more complex and value-adding interactions. The full service carrier has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan. The company said it expects its loan book to start growing from here on, as it believes the phase of reduction in loan book and AUM (assets under management) is over. The shares of Indiabulls Housing Finance ended nearly a percent lower on Friday. Mindspace Business Parks REIT Public unit holder of the Mindspace Business Parks, BREP Asian SG Pear Holding created an encumbrance of 5.43 crore units amounting to a 9.16% stake in favour of certain overseas financial institutions availed for a credit facility availed by the trust. “The volume-weighted average price of the Units over which the Encumbrance was created was ₹300.63 as on August 18, 2020,” the company said in a release to the stock-exchanges. The shares of Mindspace Business Parks REIT ended 2% higher on Friday. Tata Power Tata Power announced that the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the withdrawal of the scheme of arrangement between the Company, Tata Power Renewable Energy, Supa Windfarm, Nivade Windfarm, Tata Power Green Energy and their respective shareholders and creditors. The shares of Tata Power ended nearly a percent higher on Friday. Dixon Technologies The Board of Dixon Technologies at a meeting held on August 22, has approved raising of funds up to an aggregate amount not exceeding ₹200 crores by way of issuance of any instrument or security, including equity shares, fully / partly convertible debentures, non-convertible debentures, foreign currency convertible bonds, warrants, or any combination thereof, in one or more tranches. The shares of Dixon Tech ended nearly a percent higher on Friday. Reliance Industries RIL concludes amalgamation and merger amongst its wholly-owned subsidiaries Reliance Holdings USA into Reliance Energy Generation and Distribution. Merger entity Reliance Energy and Distribution has further merged into RIL. The shares of RIL ended nearly a percent lower on Friday. IIFL Finance Limited The board of Finance Committee of IIFL Finance Limited will meet on August 26, to consider and approve the offer document and other terms and conditions of the issue and allotment of Non-Convertible Debentures on private placement basis. The shares of IIFL Finance Limited ended 2% lower on Friday. Future Enterprises The board was expected to discuss the merger of three group companies- Future Lifestyle, Future Supply Chain, and Future Retail- in a meeting on Saturday. However, the company announced that it had postponed its board meeting to be held on August 22, by a week to August 28. The shares of Future Enterprises ended 5% higher on Friday. Future Retail Also watch out for Future Retail in trade today. It faces a debt repayment deadline after missing an interest payment of $14 million in July. The 30-day grace period also ended on August 22. The shares of Future Retail ended nearly 4% lower on Friday Rossari Biotech Rossari recorded 14.3% fall in revenue to ₹109.4 crore, but its net profit grew 7.4% to ₹15.2 crore as the cost of goods consumed in the making of its products fell by nearly a third. The input cost was the biggest saving in the latest earnings report. The shares of Rossari Biotech ended 4% higher on Friday.
