If not for the rally in automobile stocks like Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki, the fall may have been sharper. This can be one of the triggers for the fall. Another 5% correction could happen in the next 15-20 days due to global weak sentiment,” said Abhishek Jain, chief market strategist at BP Equities. Cements stocks like Shree Cements fell after a report indicated that cement companies have dropped plans to hike prices for the month of November. “Cement prices have seen some correction especially in eastern market and in western market there was a hike after Diwali, which has been reversed right now,” added Jain. The top five gainers on the Nifty 50 were all auto stocks after Morgan Stanley said that the chip shortage, which had stalled production for car makers around the world, may be easing finally. A similar commentary from Uttar Pradesh-based electronic products manufacturer Dixon Technologies took the shares higher. <div type="image" title="dixon" height="900" width="1200" msid="87736216" hostid="261"></div> Some of the most traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange ⁠— the largest by volume ⁠— were auto parts makers Mahindra CIE and Suprajit Engineering, and cloud solutions company Tanla Platforms. All three stocks saw nearly ten times the volume of shares traded on an average in the last five days, and all three of them gained over 5% today. Aegis Health and P&amp;G Health hit a 52-week low today. Investors continued to dump shares of IndusInd Bank and Hindalco and both shares are now among the biggest losers on the Nifty 100 index in the last one month. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the billion dollar company that has a near monopoly in railway ticket bookings and catering, jumped 1.8% today. Reliance Industries makes for nearly a third of Nifty’s fall today ⁠— Tata Motors and Maruti beat the trend

New Delhi, May 15 () <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> on Friday said it is planning to raise Rs 1,000 crore through issuance of securities. The company is desirous of offering rated, listed, secured, redeemable, non-convertible debentures (NCDs) aggregating Rs 1,000 crore, <keyword id="8555" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata">Tata</keyword> Motors said in a regulatory filing. In this regard, the auto major will hold a meeting of its duly constituted committee of the board on May 20, 2020, it added. The above issuance is pursuant to the board's approval on March 27, Tata Motors said. Last week, Tata Motors had decided to withdraw an NCD issue to raise up to Rs 1,000 crore, due to tight market conditions. On May 5, the company said a board-constituted committee had approved raising up to Rs 1,000 crore through issuance of NCDs on a private placement basis. Then on May 7, it said in a regulatory filing :"We hereby inform that the company has decided to withdraw the issue for private placement of unsecured NCDs in view of the higher cost expectations from the market participants due to the tight money market conditions." The company continues to have sufficient liquidity and would consider issuance of NCDs at an appropriate time and under normalised market conditions with necessary approvals, it had noted. The company had planned to issue the NCDs in three tranches of Rs 500 crore, Rs 300 crore and Rs 200 crore with redemptions due on September 30, 2022, November 28, 2022 and December 29, 2022 ,respectively. Tata Motors had decided to withdraw an NCD issue to raise up to Rs 1,000 crore

<ul><li>Shares of <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> fell to ₹311 from ₹357 in one hour as the company reported that the sales of its subsidiary, <keyword id="6354362" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaguar-Land-Rover">Jaguar Land Rover</keyword>, will be affected in the next quarter due to chip shortages. </li><li>However, Jaguar Land Rover registered 68% growth in its retail sales of 1.24 lakh vehicles in June quarter. </li><li>The company expects chip shortages for JLR production to remain throughout the year and beyond. </li></ul>Shares of Tata Motors fell almost 13% to ₹311 from ₹357, in an hour between 1:42 p.m. and 2:41 p.m on July 6, as investors were disappointed after the company reported that the sales of its subsidiary, Jaguar Land Rover, will be affected in the next quarter due to chip shortages. “Looking ahead, the chip shortage is presently very dynamic and difficult to forecast. Based on recent input from suppliers, we now expect chip supply shortages in the second quarter ended 30 September 2021 to be greater than in the first quarter, potentially resulting in wholesale volumes about 50% lower than planned,” said Thierry Bolloré, CEO at Jaguar Land Rover, in a press release. The company expects the chip shortage to continue throughout the year and beyond. The COVID-19 pandemic has reportedly driven up demand for semiconductor chips for use in electronics such as computers, as people work from home, and suppliers are struggling to adjust. The global chip shortage has hit nearly every industry that makes or uses tech-enabled products. Hence, the demand has gone up leading to severe <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/the-chip-shortage-thats-wreaking-havoc-on-supplies-of-cars-computers-and-more-could-last-another-2-years-experts-say/articleshow/82634880.cms">shortages</a> that could drag till 2023. Further, the company expects negative earnings before interest, taxes (EBIT) in the coming September quarter. Meanwhile, the company registered 68% growth in its retail sales wherein vehicle sales jumped to 1.24 lakh vehicles in June quarter compared to the corresponding period last year. Retails were higher year-on-year in every key region including in the UK (+186.9%), Europe (+124.0%), Overseas (+71.0%), North America (+50.5%) and China (+14.0%). Tata Motors shares drop almost 13% as company forecasts poor sales of Jaguar Land Rover in September quarter

Private equity firm TPG’s Rise Climate Fund along with Abu Dhabi Development Holding will make an investment worth ₹7500 crore (around $1 billion at current prices) in Tata Motors’ electric vehicles (EV) segment, it had said. Analysts believe the development will turn fortunes for the company reeling from its Jaguar Land Rover business. “Lack of competition in the near term may continue to benefit Tata’s EV volumes though progress has to be tracked,” said analysts at HSBC while raising the target price for the stock to ₹550. Tata Motors rallies 15% as TPG’s billion dollars spark a series of upgrades for the stock

Home-grown auto major Tata Motors on Tuesday reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 7,585 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2021. It had posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 9,864 crore in the January-March period of FY2019-20, Tata Motors said in a BSE filing. The auto major's total income in the fourth quarter of FY'21 stood at Rs 89,319 crore. It was at Rs 63,057 crore in the year-ago quarter. For the entire 2020-21 fiscal, the company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 13,395 crore, against a net loss of Rs 11,975 crore in 2019-20. Its total income stood at Rs 2,52,438 crore for the last financial year as against Rs 2,64,041 crore in FY'20. Tata Steel tops over 6% The shares of Tata Steel rallied over 6% hitting the 52-week high of ₹523. This came after the company in a separate statement informed stock-exchanges that it has plans with respect to its operations in Europe. The company has initiated discussions with Sweden-based SSAB on the potential sale of Tata Steel Netherland business, including Ijmuiden steelworks. Tata Steel said it has also initiated the process to separate Tata Steel Netherlands and Tata Steel UK and will pursue separate strategic paths for the Netherlands and the UK businesses in the future. BPCL plunges over 4% The shares of BPCL plunged over 4% even though it completed its first phase of the privatisation process on Monday with several suitors submitting Expressions of Interest (EoI) for the state-run oil major. Larsen &amp; Toubro gain over 2% The shares of Larsen &amp; Toubro gained over 2% after the engineering and construction giant Larsen &amp; Toubro emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹3,200 crore project to build a road bridge over the Brahmaputra river, according to an NHIDCL official.
