Mumbai, Feb 13 () Tata Motors on Thursday said it has bagged an order from Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd for supplying electric version of its sub-compact sedan Tigor, which will be deployed in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad, as part of its tender with EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Ltd). The first batch of Tata Tigor EVs (electric vehicles) were flagged off on Thursday, it said. "We are delighted to partner with Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL) for introducing zero-emission vehicles in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. We are determined to drive adoption of electric vehicles in the country, thereby supporting the government's vision 2030," Tata Motors Electric Vehicles Business Chief Shailesh Chandra said in a release. Ratan Tata recharges Ola’s electric mobility wing – invests an undisclosed amount

Automobile maker Tata Motors' subsidiary Tata Passenger Electric Mobility on Monday signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with <keyword id="106216" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ford-india" source="Orion">Ford India</keyword> and the government of Gujarat for takeover of Ford's passenger vehicle manufacturing facility at Sanand. The MoU included land and buildings; vehicle manufacturing plant; machinery and equipment; and besides transfer of all eligible employees of Ford India's Sanand's vehicle manufacturing operations, subject to the signing of definitive agreements and receipt of relevant approvals, the automaker said in a regulatory filing. The Ford India vehicle manufacturing site at Sanand is a state-of-the-art site. Tata Motors' arm would invest into new machinery and equipment which is necessary to commission and make the unit ready to produce its vehicles. With the proposed investments, it would establish an installed capacity of 300,000 units per annum, which would be scalable to more than 400,000 units, the filing said, adding it would take a few months time. Notably, the unit is adjacent to the existing manufacturing facility of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles at Sanand, which it believes will help in a smooth transition. "Tata Motors has had a strong presence in Gujarat for more than a decade with its own manufacturing facility at Sanand. This MoU further reinforces our commitment to the state by creating more employment and business opportunities. Tata Motors to acquire Ford's manufacturing unit in Gujarat

Tata Motors rallies 15% as TPG’s billion dollars spark a series of upgrades for the stock

Greater Noida, Feb 5 () Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran on Wednesday said Tata Motors will launch at least four more products in the next 18-24 months with focus on sustainability and electric vehicles. The company is focusing on - CESS: connected, electric, shared and safe - as the future of mobility. "Tata Motors is pushing the envelope with other group companies on safety... We have launched two models since we unveiled Tigor in 2017, and Nexa last week, at least four more products will be coming in the next 18-24 months," Chandrasekaran said. He added that Tata Motors is working with seven other group companies, and expects to invest continuously to expand its endeavours to drive electric vehicles and sustainable mobility in India. Tata Motors on Wednesday announced four global unveils, a pre-production preview and a commercial launch at the Auto Expo here. It launched the Harrier which will be priced Rs 13.69 lakh onwards for manual and Rs 16.25 lakh for automatic variant. It also showcases the pre-production version of its Gravitas SUV that is scheduled to be launched in the first half of FY2021. The company will allow test drive of its Nexon EV, besides showcasing the new Winger and Prima. Tata Motors bags a 921 e-bus contract from Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation

Mumbai, Jan 28 () Home-grown auto major Tata Motors on Tuesday launched the electric variant of its most-selling compact sports utility vehicle Nexon in the domestic market at a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).
 The company had unveiled the vehicle last December. 
 Tata Motors plans to launch four more electric vehicle (EV) models, including two SUVs, one hatchback and one sedan in the next 24 months, Tata Sons Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran announced at the launch.
 The event was also attended by Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons.
 Powered by Ziptron technology, the electric SUV for the personal segment comes with a range of 312 km on a single charge and a high voltage system, fast charging capability, extended battery life and class leading safety features. Besides, it has 35 connected car features as well.
 The Nexon EV will be available in three trim levels across 60 authorised dealerships in 22 cities, the company said at the launch.
 The company is closely working with other group companies such as Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Motors Finance and Croma to create an e-mobility ecosystem, Tata uniEVerse, for faster adoption of EVs in the country, Tata Motors said.
 "E-mobility is an irreversible mega-trend and an imperative for addressing pollution and generating job opportunities in India," Chandrasekaran said.
 "After 16 months of strenuous effort, we are delighted to launch India's own electric SUV, the Nexon EV. This high performance, connected vehicle is uniquely suited to address the aspirations of Indian customers, and making EVs mainstream," the company's Managing Director and Chief Executive, Guenter Butschek said.
 "We are confident that this game-changing product will further reinforce our commitment towards developing sustainable and responsible mobility solutions for India," he added.
 Powered by Tata uniEVerse, consumers will have access to a suite of e-mobility offerings including charging solutions, innovative retail experiences and easy financing options, it said. 
 The automaker has partnered with Tata Power to provide end-to-end charging solutions at home, workplace and for captive and public charging.
 Similarly, to develop the component supplier ecosystem, the company is collaborating with Tata Chemicals, which is working on manufacturing lithium-ion battery cells, exploring active chemicals manufacturing and battery recycling.

Tata Motors ties up with two firms to expand charging infra for electric CVs

The Mumbai-based company has surpassed Hyundai, who was the second largest auto seller until now, in terms of car sales in December. The car maker managed to sell a higher number of cars despite witnessing a shortfall in production due to the ongoing semiconductor crisis. “The ever-increasing demand for Nexon EV and Tigor EV as well as progressive revival of the EV [electric vehicles] fleet segment were instrumental in driving this steep growth,” said Shailesh Chandra, president of passenger vehicles business unit at Tata Motors in an exchange filing. <div type="image" title="tata motor" height="900" width="1200" msid="88660301" hostid="261"></div>Good demand on the newly launched Tata Punch also helped the company boost its overall sales. “The overwhelming market response to Tata Punch launched in October 2021 is further boosting demand for the company’s “New Forever” range of cars and SUVs [sports utility vehicles],” added Chandra. Not to forget, the company’s booming electric vehicle business, which is adding to the excitement around electric cars. The company recorded a new sales peak of 5,592 units of electric vehicles in the third quarter of FY22, which is a growth of 345% year-on-year. However, the excitement around the rising sales may not remain long as the company admits it is cautious as the semiconductor shortage continues along with rising covid cases. “Going forward, we expect the situation to remain fluid as the semiconductor shortage continues, instances of COVID begin to rise and underlying demand continues to remain under pressure,” said Girish Wagh, executive director at Tata Motors in an exchange filing. Tata Motors’ stock at nearly two-month high after selling more cars than Hyundai in December

<ul><li><keyword id="4393078" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ola-Electric">Ola Electric</keyword> has partnered with <keyword id="6399726" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="bses">BSES</keyword> Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL). </li><li>Ola Electric will work with the power utility companies and set up charging stations and battery swapping stations. </li><li>In June, the Delhi government had said that it is running a pilot project testing the use of electric vehicles. </li></ul>Ola’s <keyword id="381751" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Electric-vehicle">electric vehicle</keyword> subsidiary Ola Electric partnered with BSES Yamuna Power (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani Power (BRPL) to set up charging stations in Delhi. BSES Rajdhani Power is a joint venture of Reliance Infrastructure and Delhi government. With this partnership, Ola Electric will work with utility companies and set up charging and battery swapping stations. “Ola Electric has been working closely with ecosystem partners across the country to facilitate mass adoption of EVs and create solutions to operate with minimal restrictions. This programme further augments our efforts to lay a strong foundation to enable the smooth functioning of EVs across the country by creating a widespread network of charging solutions that vehicle owners and operators can rely on,” said Ankit Jain, co-founder of Ola Electric. In July, Ola Electric became a unicorn after it raised $250 million from Softbank. In May, Ola Electric also raised funds from Arun Sarin, former Vodafone Group CEO and also from the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Group, Ratan Tata. In March, it raised ₹4 billion from Ola’s existing and early investors – Tiger Global and Matrix India. Through Ola Electric, the company partnered with several equipment manufacturers and battery manufacturers, while looking to work with the automotive industry for solutions for electric vehicles. Delhi government has been trying to create awareness of EVs. In June, the Delhi government had said that it pilot project testing the use of electric vehicles. With the electric vehicle freight project called Deliver Electric Delhi, 1,000 EVs will be used by 30 players for deliveries over the next 12 months. Some of the high profile participants of this project include Flipkart, Amazon, Bigbasket, Grofers, Uber Eats, Zomato to Hero Electric, Mahindra Electric, Tata Motors and even logistics company Blue Dart Express.

Ola Electric partners with BSES to set up EV charging stations in Delhi

Pure electric mid-sized SUVs for international markets are to be launched from 2025 onwards, according to a release from Tata Motors. The electric cars, based on the Avinya concept, will now be developed on JLR's Electrified Modular Architecture in exchange for a royalty fee, according to the press release issued on Thursday. "Avinya stands for 'Innovation' and represents our vision for a new paradigm in personal mobility. Being built on an architecture that is equipped with the latest advances in new-age technology, software and artificial intelligence, Avinya will spawn a new breed of world-class EVs, with global standards in efficiency and range. We are delighted to collaborate on the EMA platform with JLR for actualizing this vision," Anand Kulkarni, Chief Product Officer and Head HV Programmes, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. Thomas Mueller, Executive Director, Product Engineering, JLR, said, "We are proud that JLR's world class engineering expertise, demonstrated by our EMA platform, will help accelerate TPEM's electrification journey. This partnership is a further example of great collaboration within the Tata Group, to share value, knowledge and deliver synergies". The access to JLR's platform will help accelerate TPEM's entry into the high-end EV segment while reducing development cycle time and costs.
