This will be made possible by partnering with digital lending firms and non-banking financial companies (<keyword id="19938300" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NBFCs" source="keywords">NBFCs</keyword>). <h2>Adani One app to provide personal loans?</h2>According to a report in Moneycontrol, the Adani One app will start to offer personal loans through pilot projects in collaboration with digital lending firms and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). The app has partnered with KrazyBee Services, a subsidiary of KreditBee, to facilitate personal loans ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5 lakh. Adani Digital Labs will act as a lending service provider (LSP) in this partnership. As of the latest report, Adani One achieved a gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 750 crore for the financial year ending March 2024 and has a user base of 30 million. The company aims to reach 500 million users by 2030. Adding more services to its super app, therefore, seems to be a step in this direction. The Moneycontrol report also adds that Adani One is also in discussions with other NBFCs and fintech companies to broaden its credit product offerings. The exact commission rates for loans will vary based on agreements with partners. This move is part of Adani Group's broader strategy to enhance its super app, which now includes a range of services beyond its original focus. <h2>What is a Super app?</h2>A Super app often acts as a one-stop solution for various needs. For two years, Netflix subscribers have been able to download tons of mobile games, all free with their subscription. Netflix may introduce in-app purchases, ads to games

A <keyword id="19925751" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mobile-app" source="keywords">mobile app</keyword> could help predict if a pregnant woman will develop depression in the latter stages of pregnancy, according to new <keyword id="19913261" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="research" source="keywords">research</keyword>. By asking women to respond to surveys during their first trimester, researchers identified various risk factors, including <keyword id="20015710" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sleep-quality" source="keywords">sleep quality</keyword> and <keyword id="20406931" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="food-insecurity" source="keywords">food insecurity</keyword>, for developing depression. "We can ask people a small set of questions and get a good sense of whether they'll become depressed," said lead author Tamar Krishnamurti, an associate professor of general internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, US. "Strikingly, a lot of risk factors for future depression are things that are modifiable -- such as sleep quality, concerns about labour and delivery and, importantly, access to food -- meaning that we can and should do something about them," said Krishnamurti. Identifying women vulnerable to developing depression in the earlier stages of pregnancy could help tailor preventive care and offer support to address underlying causes, the researchers said. For the study, the researchers analysed the survey responses of 944 <keyword id="19905236" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pregnant-women" source="keywords">pregnant women</keyword> who used the app as part of a larger study and did not have a history of depression. In their first trimester of pregnancy, the women responded to questions about demographics and their medical history, along with those on stress and feelings of sadness. Some of the 944 women also responded to optional questions on social factors related to their health, such as food insecurity. All women were screened for depression once every trimester. The researchers developed six machine-learning models using all the data. The best one was found to be 89 per cent accurate in predicting depression in a pregnant woman. A machine learning algorithm is a form of artificial intelligence that learns from past data to make predictions. The accuracy of the model rose to 93 per cent when the researchers included the responses to optional questions on health-related social factors. They found that food insecurity, or access to food, emerged as an important risk factor for pregnant women to develop depression in the latter stages of pregnancy. The researchers are now developing methods to integrate these survey questions into clinical settings and identifying how clinicians could have these conversations with patients about the risk of depression. Tata’s super app ‘Neu’ is all set to launch this week — here’s what to expect

Tata Digital held this press conference to formally introduce their latest super app, Tata New, that was launched on April 7, 2022. Pal mentioned that the app has received 2.2 million enrollments and witnessed a “significant” number of transactions since its launch. He also mentioned that the people shopping on the Tata Neu app are shopping across categories. Pal also mentioned that the strong offline presence that Tata has is going to benefit Tata Neu as well. He, during the launch of the app, mentioned that the Tata Neu began with a cumulative consumer base of 120 million users and 2,500 offline stores, along with an 80 million app footprint across its digital assets. The app, which was initially rolled out a little over six months ago, was only open for 800,000 Tata Group employees and their friends and family till its formal launch last week. The app had already been downloaded over 100,000 times both on Google Play Store and Apple App Store before it was open to the larger customer base. N Chandrasekaran, who took charge as the chairperson of Tata Digital earlier this week, mentioned that Tata Neu has been in making for the last two years. However, he denied all media reports that the launch of Tata Neu has been delayed. “We were calibrating it along the way and we came out at the right time,” he noted. Tata owns several retail brands like BigBasket, 1mg, Croma, AirAsia, Indian Hotel Company Limited (IHCL), Qmin, Starbucks, Tata Cliq, Tata Play, Westside, Titan, Tanishq, Tata Motors and Vistara which will be available on the super app. The company is looking to partner with external brands to enhance their offerings too, Pal said. Effective from September 30, developers cannot show full-screen ads of all formats (video, <keyword id="354063" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="gif" source="Orion">GIF</keyword>, static, etc.) that show unexpectedly, typically when the user has chosen to do something else, are not allowed. "Ads that appear during game play at the beginning of a level or during the beginning of a content segment are not allowed and full-screen video interstitial ads that appear before an app's loading screen (splash screen) are not allowed," Google said in its developer policy update. Such ads are unexpected for users, as they expect to begin a game or engage in content instead. Full screen ads of all formats that are not "closeable after 15 seconds are not allowed", said Google. "Opt-in full screen interstitials or full screen interstitials that do not interrupt users in their actions (for example, after the score screen in a game app) may persist more than 15 seconds," said Google. This policy does not apply to rewarded ads, monetisation and advertising that does not interfere with normal app use or game play. Effective from November 1, all <keyword id="6354741" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="apps" source="Orion">apps</keyword> distributed on Google Play are required to respect the Flag_Secure declaration of other apps for security and privacy purposes. "Apps must not facilitate or create workarounds to bypass the Flag_Secure settings in other apps," the company said. Flag_Secure is a display flag declared in an app's code to indicate that its user interface (UI) contains sensitive data intended to be limited to a secure surface while using the app. Google will not allow apps that mislead users by impersonating someone else (another developer, company, entity) or another app from August 31. "Don't imply that your app is related to or authorised by someone that it isn't. Be careful not to use app icons, descriptions, titles, or in-app elements that could mislead users about your app's relationship to someone else or another app," said Google. Effective from September 30, if developers sell subscriptions in apps, they must ensure that the apps clearly disclose how a user can manage or cancel their subscription. "You must also include in your app access to an easy-to-use, online method to cancel the subscription," the company said. Google cracks down on annoying ads in games, to enforce stricter guidelines from September 30

The company, which sold around 50,000 units of electric passenger vehicles last year, is targeting to reach 1 lakh units this fiscal while it also targets deeper penetration of CNG with the launch of its Altroz iCNG premium hatchback. "So far the indicators are good in terms of demand sustaining at high levels, although the additional moves that we were getting from pent-up demand and low channel inventory that have subdued," <keyword id="796" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="chandra" source="Orion">Chandra</keyword> told PTI here. He was responding to a query on the outlook of passenger vehicles sales in India in 2023-24. In the last five to six months, Chandra said two factors -- pent-up demand and low channel inventory, were really driving the demand for the industry. "(Now) these two factors have gone but the key factor, which is the monthly demand that we generate, the flow of customers has sustained at a very healthy level, which is good enough to sustain a retail ability of about 3,10,000 a month (industry wise)," he added. Chandra further said, "Especially in the SUV segment, we are seeing a growth, which is significantly higher, as compared to where the industry growth will be. On the entry side, there has been a slight pressure that is what we see." The growth in the SUV segment has been driven at "a very high pace" by both upgraders and first time buyers opting for such vehicles, he added. In terms of volumes, he said, "Just two years back, we were talking about 2.7 million to 3 million (units for the) industry. It has gone up to 3.9 million (last year). Even if it sustains at a 4.1 million level (this year) it's very healthy, it should help the industry a lot." Chandra, however, added that the "unprecedented" growth of about 27 per cent that industry witnessed last year "will moderate a bit". For <keyword id="42747" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-motors" source="Orion">Tata Motors</keyword>, he said the idea would be to sustain the segments where it is present -- hatchback and sedans, "and new nameplate additions should come in the SUVs. That will be the focus". The company's share of SUVs to its total passenger vehicle sales is at around 66 per cent as compared to 43 per cent of the industry, he said, adding, it would grow even further with the launch of Curvv and Sierra, which would be launched in the market in 2024 and 2025, respectively. On electric vehicles, Chandra said Tata Motors has witnessed exponential growth in the last five years to 50,000 units last fiscal from around 500 units in FY19 "The growth journey has been exponential. Now we are on a higher base...the multiples might moderate from three-four times to lower levels, but of course the aspiration would be to be as close to 100,000 (units)," he noted. On the newly launched CNG version of the company's premium hatchback Altroz iCNG, he said the company has addressed one of the most important hurdles faced by CNG models, which is the compromise in the boot space due to the placement of the fuel cylinder, with its twin cylinder technology. Besides, the Altroz iCNG has been provided with good engine performance and premium features like voice command operated sunroof, he added When asked about sales expectations from the new car, he said Tata Motors experienced CNG penetration ranged anywhere between 30 per cent to 50 per cent in its two models Tiago and Tigor, which also have the twin cylinder technology. "Therefore, we expect that initially it might start with 30 per cent penetration and hopefully with greater awareness of this car (Altroz iCNG) being a no-compromise CNG car, as the awareness will increase, I think the demand will continue to grow," Chandra said. New WhatsApp Business update will let you create Facebook, Instagram ads

The company, which is present in the country through a wholly-owned subsidiary, joins the likes of market leader Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Renault, Kia India and MG Motor, who have also made the year-end announcements to hike prices from the next month. "After assessing the consistent increase in the input cost of raw materials and upcoming regulatory requirements, we will have to undergo a price revision for our products from January 23. The increment will be in the range of up to ₹30,000 and vary from model to model," Honda Cars India Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Kunal Behl told PTI. As per the second phase of BS-VI emission regulations, to be effective from April 2023, vehicles will need to have an onboard self-diagnostic device to monitor the real-time driving emission levels. The device will constantly monitor key parts for meeting emission standards, such as catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, to keep a close watch on emissions. Additionally, in order to control the level of fuel burnt, the vehicles will also carry programmed fuel injectors, which would control the timing and amount of fuel injected into the petrol engine.
