If there’s a monetary issue bubbling— one that could have global consequences — #FinTwit’s is talking about it,” the report said.<br /><br />It also added that the discussion among the financial <keyword id="4056664" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="twitter-community" source="Orion">twitter community</keyword> was primarily split between three key trends - modern investments (NFTs and crypto), traditional financial investments (stocks, bonds, etc) and broader financial topics (savings, mortgages, etc).<br /><br /><strong>What is buzzing among Twitter’s financial community?</strong><br /><br />While investments still dominated the conversation among the financial community on Twitter, cryptocurrency and NFTs are gaining in relevance – with a 139% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase as a topic of discussion, the report said.<br /><br />The report also stated that there was a 37% YoY increase in discussions on traditional financial investments like stocks, bonds and commodities, while broader financial topics including money savings, mortgages, etc, witnessed a 23% increase. <br /><br /><div type="image" title="The age group of financial Twitter community" msid="95884817" hostid="261" sizebytes="47118"></div><br />The report also shared that a section of the financial twitter community wanted to move away from traditional finance models and “towards a decentralised finance model”. <br /><br />This was reflected in the data sourced from Twitter that showed there were negative conversations around traditional financial models, such as central banks (3.3K mentions) and financial institutions (500+ mentions), the report stated.<br /><br /><strong>Financial Twitter community getting younger and desire financial freedom</strong><br /><br />Behind the financial advice and investments chatter on Twitter is a rise in the number of Gen Z and millennial users desiring a life change. <br /><br />The report shared that in Asia, 35% of the users joining the conversation from August 2021 to August 2022 were 18 to 24-year-olds. And data from Unruly shows a 67% purchase intent by consumers after watching. </p><h3><strong>Michelob Ultra - Happy</strong></h3><p>This ad spot features various athletes having a good time and an actually-kind-of-uplifting voiceover. </p><h3><strong>Toyota - Jessica Long's Story | Upstream</strong></h3><p>The car company's spotlight on Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long was one of the most overtly emotional of the evening, and people responded. According to data from Unruly, the ad had an emotional intensity score of 63%. </p><h3><strong>Oatly - Wow No Cow</strong></h3><p>This ad was perhaps the strangest of the night, featuring nothing but the oat milk company's CEO singing and playing an electric keyboard in the middle of a field, but it was also certainly one of the most memorable. </p><h3><strong>State Farm - Drake from State Farm</strong></h3><p>Jake from State Farm and Drake from State Farm! Get it? It rhymes. Despite the obvious pun, Drake's cameo was still a fun twist. And engagement increased 631% after the ad aired, Talkwalker reported. </p><h3><strong>Reddit</strong></h3><p>This five-second, blink-and-you'll-miss it <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/reddit-super-bowl-2021-ad-addresses-gamestop-frenzy-2021-2">slide from Reddit</a> shouts out the day-traders on WallStreetBets who made market waves with GameStop and other stocks. <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/07/us/reddit-commercial-super-bowl-trnd/index.html">CNN reported </a>that the ad aired in 9 of the 10 top metro markets in America, comprising most major cities. </p><h2>Worst </h2><h3><strong>Doritos 3D - Flat Matthew</strong></h3><p>A 2D Matthew McConaghey trudges around town until he finds 3D Doritos to bring him back to life. The animation of "Flat Matthew" looks like something akin to body horror. </p><h3><strong>Robinhood - We are all investors</strong></h3><p>Robinhood's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/robinhood-superbowl-commercial-ad-amid-gamestop-wallstreetbets-growth-2021-2">Super Bowl ad focuses</a> on the brand's stated mission of making investing easier for everyday people, but the messaging felt a tad misplaced after Robinhood's tumultuous January. </p><h3><strong>Oikos - #PROFACE</strong></h3><p>Oikos Greek Yogurt's ad featured close-ups of athletes' faces as they strained to lift heavy weights and touted the brand's high protein content, but the fairly  obvious pun seemed to have little to do with the brand itself.</p><h3><strong>Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade - Last Year's Lemons</strong></h3><p>2020 sucked! Get it? This dramatization of the "lemon" of a year winked at the pandemic but came across as a bit less self-aware than other commercials that addressed the seriousness of COVID-19. </p><h3><strong>Hellman's - Fairy Godmayo </strong></h3><p>The mayo brand's ad was fine, but not a particularly memorable, use of Amy Schumer. </p><h3><strong>Mercari - Get Your Unused Things Back in the Game</strong></h3><p>Mercari, an online marketplace where you can buy and sell pretty much anything, aired a very literal ad featuring a popcorn machine being sold and reused. It wasn't anything bad, just meh. </p><h3><strong>Sketchers - To the Max</strong></h3><p>This ad features Candice and Tony Romo eating giant sandwiches and sleeping on a stack of mattresses a la Princess and the Pea in order to communicate that, yes, Sketchers are really that soft. It's not the most engaging of this year's lineup. </p><h3><strong>Uber Eats</strong></h3><p>This reprisal of "Wayne's World" features Cardi B, always delightful, but the branding of "Eat Local" at a time when many local restaurants are struggling <a href="https://www.eater.com/22228352/convenience-of-delivery-apps-destroying-restaurants-uber-eats-doordash-postmates">in part due to Uber Eats commission fees</a> struck consumers as somewhat cynical. Amazon came to the rescue of "The Expanse" after Syfy canceled it, Netflix swooped in to save "Lucifer" from Fox, and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is currently enjoying a run on NBC.</p><p>Social <keyword id="6354777" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Media">media</keyword> has made it easier than ever for fans to spread the word about their love of a TV series, and sometimes it can bring a show back.</p><p>In fact, "Lucifer" is just one of several shows Netflix has revived; others include "You," "Designated Survivor," and "Arrested Development."</p><p>But Netflix has a tendency to cancel more shows than it saves.</p><p><em><strong>READ MORE</strong>: <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/benioff-weiss-land-netflix-deal-making-star-wars-for-disney-2019-8" data-analytics-position="6">Netflix reportedly paid $200 million to land the 'Game of Thrones' creators, but they are still creating the next 'Star Wars' trilogy for Disney</a></em></p><p>Netflix has been on a spree of canceling shows, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/best-canceled-netflix-shows-one-day-at-a-time-daredevil-2019-6">including some that critics and audiences loved</a>.</p><p>But which cancellations have inspired the most social-media outcry?</p><p>Data firm <a href="https://www.talkwalker.com/">Talkwalker</a> did a social-media analysis of six popular canceled Netflix shows for Business Insider. Of them, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-cancels-marvel-tv-shows-the-punisher-and-jessica-jones-2019-2">Netflix's "Daredevil"</a> and "The OA" had the most vocal support behind them on social media by far.</p><p>Talkwalker found that the "Daredevil" campaign #SaveDaredevil received 122,000 mentions across various social-media platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit. Those mentions received 331,500 engagements (likes, comments, and shares).</p><p>Fans even launched a website for the effort, <a href="https://www.savedaredevil.com/">SaveDaredevil.com</a>, which directed people to a <a href="https://www.change.org/p/netflix-disney-and-marvel-tv-studios-save-daredevil?use_react=false">Change.org</a> petition to save the show that received over 340,000 signatures. </p><p>The #SaveTheOA campaign had 82,000 mentions across the online platforms, which received 265,000 engagements.</p><p>In third place was "Gypsy," which had much fewer mentions, with #SaveGypsy at 15,000 mentions and 17,000 engagements.</p><p>The others - "<span>American Vandal," "Tuca and Bertie," and "Everything Sucks" - received fewer than 1,000 mentions.</span></p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Netflix</span></p><p class="caption">Netflix canceled "The OA" earlier this month after two seasons.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p> </p><p>So why did these shows get canceled? There could be a variety of reasons, but there are a few main themes.</p><p>Netflix <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/netflix-favors-tv-shows-with-10-episode-seasons-report-2019-3">sees little value in long-running shows</a>, as they become too expensive to continue to invest in and harder for viewers to jump into, Deadline reported in March. The streaming giant prefers TV seasons that are no more than 10 episodes or shows that are 30 episodes total, according to Deadline, meaning many programs get cut after two or three seasons.</p><p><a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-16/netflix-s-reputation-for-canceling-shows-too-soon-is-overblown">Bloomberg</a> reported on Friday that Netflix values shows more if viewers watch them within the first month of their release, and if viewers finish an entire season without watching other programs.</p><p>And looking at "Daredevil" in particular, Disney launching its own Netflix competitor later this year could have contributed to Netflix's decision to cancel all its Marvel shows.</p><p>Could these canceled shows come back?</p><p>There is precedent for Netflix giving in to the most fervent demands. After Netflix canceled "Sense8" in 2017, it announced a finale movie that debuted last year. But the likelihood of canceled shows returning is still slim. </p><p>Netflix TV deals typically prevent shows from being renewed at other networks for up to three years after being canceled, according to <a href="https://deadline.com/2019/03/netflix-tv-series-cancellations-strategy-one-day-at-a-time-1202576297/">Deadline</a>. But that's not the case.</p><p>At the peak, the number of social-media posts regarding "Booksmart" was much higher than the number at "Murder Mystery's" peak, according to social-media analysis provided to Business Insider by Talkwalker. </p><p>"Booksmart" reached a peak of <span>43,991 mentions across social media on May 26 (it was released on May 24), while "Murder Mystery" reached a peak of 14,978 on June 19 (it became available on Netflix on June 14).</span></p><p>"Booksmart's" disappointing box office raised the question of whether the movie would have fared better if it had gone straight to streaming. And that could be the case. While millions of people watched "Murder Mystery," it didn't get them talking like "Booksmart" did. The problem was that "Booksmart" couldn't get enough people into theaters. Imagine the impact "Booksmart" could have had if it were only a click away on Netflix.</p><h2>'Booksmart' is a symptom of larger box-office trends</h2><p>"Booksmart" isn't <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/great-movies-that-flopped-at-box-office-2019-6" rel="noopener">the only well-reviewed comedy this year to fail to attract audiences</a> to the theater. Others, like "Long Shot" and "Late Night," have also underperformed. And the genre has been stale at the box office for the last decade.</p><p>In 2009, "The Hangover" was a blockbuster, especially by modern comedy standards. It was the sixth highest-grossing movie in the US that year with $277 million. Since then, only two live-action comedies have managed to crack the top 10 of the domestic box office in their respective years: "The Hangover Part II" in 2011 and "Ted" in 2012.</p><p>Given the low budgets of comedies compared to the likes of superhero blockbusters, that's generally not a bad thing. In a conversation with <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/06/20/movies/movie-industry-future.html" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>, filmmaker J.J. Abrams acknowledged this trend.</p><p><span>"When you have a movie that's as entertaining, well-made, and well-received as '</span>Booksmart'<span> not doing the business it should have, it really makes you realize that the typical Darwinian fight to survive is completely lopsided now," Abrams said. "Everyone's trying to figure out how we protect the smaller films that aren't four-quadrant mega-releases. The latter not only showcases why Netflix lured Sandler into a four-movie deal in 2014 (and then renewed it for four more movies in 2017), but also why it's betting big on the comedy genre.</p><p>Social media proves that there's buzz around "Booksmart," even if people aren't paying to see it in a theater.
