<ul><li>Scam-hit PMC Bank's depositors from Delhi staged a protest outside the Reserve <keyword id="6355303" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank-of-india">bank of India</keyword> to demand that their money be returned.</li><li>The bank has been put under restrictions by the <keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword> after an alleged fraud came to light following which the deposit withdrawal was initially capped at Rs 1,000, causing panic and distress among depositors.</li><li>Subsequently, it was raised to Rs 10,000 and to Rs 50,000 earlier this week by the RBI.</li></ul>Scam-hit PMC Bank's depositors from Delhi staged a protest outside the Reserve bank of India here on Monday to demand that their money be returned. They threatened to go on a hunger strike after March 2 if their money is not returned and their concerns not addressed. Hemant Kumar, who had come from Malviya Nagar, said, "These people will not understand till we carry out a Shaheen Bagh-like protest outside the RBI. If they do not listen to us, we will block the road outside the RBI." Tek Chand, who has an account with Tilak Nagar branch, said, "My wife is a kidney patient and she has to undergo dialysis thrice every month. What am I supposed to do? I have been left helpless due to the situation. it is our hard earned money." Another depositor, <keyword id="8827022" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="tajinder-pal-singh-gujral">Tajinder Pal Singh Gujral</keyword>, a resident of Janakpuri, had deposited Rs 2.5 crore in the bank after he sold his house, a day before the bank shut down in September. "I had sold off my house and the payment from that deal had come into my account with the PMC bank. I had booked another house and given Rs 5 lakh as down payment and was supposed to pay for it from the PMC account. But, now, those Rs 5 lakh are also gone and this money is also stuck. I cannot buy a house or do anything for my business," he said. The bank, over a long period of time, had given over Rs 6,500 crore in loans to HDIL, which is 73 per cent of its total advances, and which has turned sour with a shift in the fortunes of the now bankrupt company.  <keyword id="2908469" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mohit-Bagga">Mohit Bagga</keyword> and <keyword id="2908470" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tajinder-Pal-Singh-Chouhan">Tajinder Pal Singh Chouhan</keyword> of CodeBibber recently stumbled upon a security breach in <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> login protocol that websites are using for authenticating the user, which can expose your data on multiple platforms. 
 
 
In simple words, whenever you choose the “Login through Facebook” option on any website or mobile app, you expose every other account where you logged in through Facebook. 
 
 “We were hacking around the Facebook login that gives us the access token. We wondered if we could post other login requests to <keyword id="830092" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zomato">Zomato</keyword> and <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> as to see if they accept the token because it is a valid token for Facebook. We tried and were successfully logged in,” said Mohit Bagga, co-founder and CTO, CodeBibber. 
 
 
He added that they did several checks on various platforms before confirming this claim. 
 
 
“We have a toolbox that gives you total control over headers and parameters that you want to pass through the server and we use mitm-proxy (man in the middle proxy or a Java SSL proxy) for voice passing. So we were seeing what kind of requests were going from an app. We just replicated it through the access token given by Facebook and got logged in from that platform,” said Mohit. 
 
 Snapdeal told BI that the access token is for specific apps and they follow all security measures. Zomato and <keyword id="1666592" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Foodpanda">Foodpanda</keyword> did not comment on this. 
 
 
He further added that by this access token one replicates oneself as the user and can access all personal details of that user. 
 
 
“We tested out this security breach on our new venture TOTUM app’s test run and to our amazement, by using a single access token that we received from Facebook, we were able to access the entire account history of that user on a series of big players like Zomato, Foodpanda, Uber and Snapdeal,” he added. 
 
 
Facebook said that this is neither a breach nor vulnerability in login. 
 
“This appears to be an issue we discussed in detail at F8 2015 and is not a vulnerability in Facebook Login, but rather improper implementation of Login by certain apps. To avoid this issue, developers should ensure their apps are properly validating access tokens and securing authentication flows. We provide resources and tools to help developers use Facebook Login securely in their apps,” Facebook told BI. 
 
 
Mohit asserted the same, that it is a security breach at the end of the players like Zomato, Ola, Snapdeal and not at Facebook. Facebook has given the guidelines but the players are not using them. If one posts a login request to Zomato with the access token, Zomato do not even have the basic check to detect that it is coming from another app. 
 
 
“Facebook has the option so that we can privately exchange the data between the clients in the server. Facebook has the option which gives an encrypted access ID/token. The players are exposing users’ data to everyone,” said Mohit stating the solution to protect the users from such security breach. 
 
 
Expressing his doubts, he also added that all said and done, Facebook do have the upper edge here. If Facebook gains the token, it can easily scrap all data through all platforms anytime they want. 
 
 They might even be doing it; one cannot be too sure in a world where Snoopgate and <keyword id="137092" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="cyber-security">Cyber security</keyword> exists side by side.

Prior to the withdrawal, it had also attempted to settle with the farmers by offering them the chance to sell all the FC5 potatoes they produced to Lay’s or stop producing them altogether. The farmers in question had allegedly infringed the corporation’s patent by growing a type of potato - FC5 which are used in the production of Lay’s chips. Bad timing It appears that Pepsi chose the wrong time to pick a fight with Indian farmers. India is a popular market for the company’s products and the backlash was severe. Not only were the PR machines lapping up the “David vs Goliath” narrative, but the lawsuit provided a strong opportunity for India’s campaigning politicians to show their support to farmers, who are considered a strong vote bank.
