Indian Hotels, the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/inside-taj-mahal-hotels-beautiful-and-luxurious-suites/articleshow/53549610.cms">hospitality arm</a> of the Tata Group that owns and operates the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/thelife/culture/the-25-best-hotels-in-india/slidelist/22493456.cms">Taj Hotels</a>, is looking to reduce its ownership of properties to 50% by 2022, as it wants to turn ‘asset light’. It has around 45 properties it owns under the Ginger brand, but wants to shed some weight by offloading 5-10% of the properties, and continue to operate it.

However, as many as six of the Ginger hotels are already a part of the sale and lease-back plans. What this mean is that Indian Hotels will be selling the properties and then taking them up on rent so that the current management stays in place. This is also true with other hotels that are a part of joint ventures or under associate companies, according to Chhatwal. On the other hand, Indian Hotels also opened up three new hotels in key strategic markets like Goa and Agra as per last quarter’s <a href="https://www.ihcltata.com/investors/">earnings report</a>. It has also launched a new hotel brand called ‘SeleQtions’ to up its brand image. SeleQtions includes named and distinctive hotels as well as Chambers — India’s most iconic business club. Indian Premier League 2022 could be held in South Africa, says report

The ban on the sale of liquor within 500 meters of highways in the country would mean a probable loss of Rs 50000 crore for several state governments. This, because a list of prominent hotel chains, like the Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt and Accor groups will now have to stop serving alcohol to guests at their premium locations, thus denting the 
estimated revenue of state governments, which they would have earned from these hotels in form of taxes.

Riyaaz Amlani, president of the National Restaurant Association of India (<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/strategy/restaurant-body-fights-back-says-dont-eat-if-you-dont-want-to-pay/articleshow/56313066.cms">NRAI</a>), told ET that along with this loss to the governments, restaurants, bars and pubs will also be taking a hit of Rs 10,000-15,000 crore, and 100,000 people will be out of work.

The country houses over a third of liquor outlets around national and state highways, which means that this ban would result in a deep impact on the liquor industry and state governments’ pockets.

Targeting more sales in a span of two years, Chinese telecom gear maker <keyword id="110306" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Huawei-Technologies">Huawei Technologies</keyword> would manufactures its enterprise products at its Chennai plant. The company's India enterprise business revenue increased almost by 50% during the last financial year, thus it eyes a 10-fold jump in the revenue by March 2017. 
 
"We expect revenues to reach $300 million in the next two years. Once we hit the $100-million mark, we would start manufacturing enterprise products in India itself," Kent Tang Kai, sales director-north region, Enterprise Business Department, Huawei, told the Economic Times. 
 
Presently, the Chennai facility is being used to make telecom network equipment for the Indian market. 
 
Kai said the company's business revenue grew 48% during the last financial year to $30 million in India. Its overall revenue from the South Asian nation stood at $1 billion, and the company expects to double its overall revenue to $2 billion by 2016-17. 
 
Moreover, Huawei is targeting internet service providers/telcos, energy, transportation, media, BFSI, and education verticals for its enterprise solutions and services in India. 
 It has around 30 enterprise customers in India, including DEN Networks, Hathway, QTel, <keyword id="6377547" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Adidas">Adidas</keyword>, Taj Hotel, <keyword id="35140" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="BSE">BSE</keyword> and <keyword id="94550" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Sky">Tata Sky</keyword>, and competes with the likes of Cisco, Juniper, EMC and <keyword id="6367983" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="HP">HP</keyword>. 
 
Huawei, through its enterprise division, is also targeting the country's 100 Smart Cities and Digital India projects, and is currently in talks with state and central governments along with private companies for tie-ups.
