This frustrating situation may be hindering their ability to effectively contribute to global climate goals, the research elaborates. The challenge begins with mixed messages. Governments and regulatory bodies often send conflicting signals, with national targets and international standards failing to align perfectly. This leaves companies confused and unsure of the best course of action. Furthermore, standardised data sources and accounting methods don't always capture the unique picture of each company's emissions. This leads to inaccurate assessments and suboptimal reduction strategies, something the world, in the current stage of the climate crisis, cannot afford. Adding to the confusion, the research explains that some companies rely far too heavily on <keyword id="1690954" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="carbon-offsets" source="Orion">carbon offsets</keyword> to compensate for their emissions, instead of focusing on concrete reductions within their own operations. This act might make the operations seem emission-free, effectively tricking shareholders. Much like greenwashing, this can be compared to paying someone else to complete your errands while your own to-do list remains untouched. While this might ease the immediate pressure, it certainly doesn't address the root cause of the problem. Finally, companies juggle competing demands from regulators, shareholders, and customers. This makes it difficult to prioritise efficient decarbonisation strategies and resource allocation. This act of trying to please everyone at once often leads to compromises and suboptimal outcomes, the study reads. To navigate this complex maze, the researchers propose a two-pronged approach. First, companies need a more dynamic framework. This means combining a <keyword id="66463" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="carbon" source="Orion">carbon</keyword> measurement and management process with a flexible "Plan, Do, Check, Act" cycle. This ensures alignment between climate targets, actions, monitoring, and reporting, just like having a clear, up-to-date map and constantly checking your progress. Second, governments and regulatory bodies need to work together to create a more unified international framework, similar to the somewhat recently released <keyword id="12704208" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="issb" source="Orion">ISSB</keyword> standards. This step would empower companies to accurately assess, manage, and reduce their carbon footprints, similar to having clear and consistent road signs throughout your journey. Bhargava also said the industry and the government can work with trust and confidence with each other to achieve the goal of India becoming a developed country by 2047. "Over the years, I've heard people arguing that rapid economic development and a democratic political system are not really compatible. Our country has proved the fallacy of this line of thinking," he said. Asserting his point, Bhargava said, "We are now the fastest growing economy in the world, and our prime minister is one of the most respected global leaders." Periodically, he said, "the world has seen how deeply committed we are to the democratic processes." Referring to the recent general elections, he said it has "once again shown that hundreds of millions of people can vote in a peaceful manner and accept the results of that process." Bhargava, however, admitted that "the policies and strategies for equitable and rapid economic growth and development did take some time in being established". ".. But we did find the right path through peaceful democratic processes. This is in sharp contrast to what we have seen around us in many parts of the world and in our neighborhood," he said, without naming Bangladesh which is currently in turmoil following student-led violent protests that led to a regime change. "Initially established in 2008, the regulatory framework for seaplane operations was long due for a review. According to a DGCA Working Group recommending rationalization and revision of the said regulatory framework, revised regulations (CAR Section 3 Series C Part IX and CAR Section 7 Series B Part XVI) have been promulgated," an official statement said. The revised regulations incorporate easier training requirements and simplified approval processes for undertaking seaplane operations. Pilots with a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) can now qualify as seaplane-rated pilots by undertaking training at any ICAO-recognized training organisation globally. Additionally, new training opportunities for support roles are set to enhance employment potential at seaplane hubs nationwide. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) spearheaded the initiative to promote the seaplane ecosystem, providing guidance and engaging with stakeholders, including DGCA, State Governments, the <keyword id="19919137" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airports-Authority-of-India" source="keywords">Airports Authority of India</keyword> (AAI), Airlines, and Aircraft Manufacturers. Powered by Google's TensorFlow, the model has shown approximately 85% accuracy in detecting plastic waste during a pilot programme, potentially boosting revenue for material recovery facilities by 10-12%. To support data-driven decision-making in agriculture, Google is also opening its Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) Research API to developers. The API leverages satellite imagery and machine learning to provide farm-level insights, such as field boundaries, water bodies, and vegetation.
