Every waste generator is <a href="https://cpcb.nic.in/displaypdf.php?id=d2FzdGUvQyZEX3J1bGVzXzIwMTYucGRm">required </a>to pay relevant charges for collection, transportation, processing and disposal as notified by the concerned authorities. After segregation, the waste is to be deposited at the collection centre and/or to be handed to an authorised processing facility. The authorities are required to ensure that there’s no littering on roads that could cause traffic. The waste is not to be burned, buried or thrown into drains or water bodies. What happens next? Of the 80,000 tonnes of construction waste left behind by the Twin Towers, 30,000 will be removed and recycled. New Delhi, Jan 5 () Realty firm Supertech on Sunday said it has sought Rs 1,500 crore from the government's newly created stress fund to complete its 12 ongoing housing projects at Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
 The company said these 12 projects comprising 20,000 flats are at an advanced stage of completion and it requires last mile funding to finish the pending works and deliver units to homebuyers. 
 In November, the central government announced a Rs 25,000-crore fund to help complete over 1,500 stalled housing projects, including even those that have been declared NPAs or admitted for insolvency proceedings. 
 The move is likely to help 4.58 lakh housing units across the country. Only RERA-registered projects with positive net worth will be provided funds.
 Real estate developers were asked to apply to seek money from this fund. 
 "We have applied for stress fund of Rs 1,500 crore for our 12 projects nearing completion in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway to finish 20,000 flats in 1-2 years," Supertech Ltd Chairman R K Arora told . 
 "We are eligible for stress fund and hope to get the same," he added. 
 Arora said the Uttar Pradesh government and state regulatory authority are helping builders in making applications. 
 The Finance Ministry had said that the maximum funding would be Rs 400 crore for any single project that will seek assistance from the 'special window' or the alternative investment fund (AIF).
 SBICAP Ventures has been appointed to manage the AIF. 
 The Centre would infuse Rs 10,000 crore in this fund, while the remaining would be provided by SBI and LIC. 
 Lakhs of home buyers are stuck in various stalled housing projects across the country. 
 The National Capital Region is the most affected as many builders, including Amrapali, Unitech and Jaypee Infratech, failed to give possession of flats on time.

Supertech seeks Rs 1,500 cr from stress fund to complete 12 housing projects

<keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword> rapped up real estate major <keyword id="6400590" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Supertech">Supertech</keyword> and sent a stern message over delay of completing housing projects. 
 
The Apex Court directed Supertech to return money to investors saying and said it was not concerned whether the real estate major "sinks or dies". 
 
"Either you (Supertech) sink or die, we are not concerned. You will have to pay back the money to home buyers. We are least bothered about the financial status," a bench of Justices Dipak Misra and Adarsh Kumar Goel. 
 
The Supreme Court directed Supertech to pay 10 per cent per month of the invested amount from January 5, 2015 to 17 home buyers, who are before the court, within four weeks. 
 
Meanwhile, Senior advocate Rajeev Dhawan, appearing for Supertech, said the apex court "cannot act like a banker" and has to follow principle of equality. 
 
"Not all home buyers are against us and some of them have even supported the firm and filed an appeal against the High Court order," he said. 
 
Dhawan said a total of 628 people had approached the company, of whom 274 have sought alternate arrangements, 74 asked for re-investment and 108 have sought refund. 
 
To this, the bench asked why Supertech was not giving back the money to all the investors. 
 
Dhawan said there was a court order saying only those who have applied on time will get the money back and it was paying back the money to them. 
 
Counsels for home buyers refuted Supertech's claim and said they were not getting the money on time.

Supreme Court tells Supertech to return investors' money in a stern message, says least bothered even if it sinks

Realty firm <keyword id="6400590" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Supertech">Supertech</keyword>, which is developing 12 projects (most of whom are residential) in Noida, has received a funding of Rs 275 crore from <keyword id="6363556" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indiabulls">Indiabulls</keyword> Housing Finance. 
 
"We have raised Rs 275 crore from Indiabulls Housing Finance. Money has been raised for financing construction in all our Noida projects," the firm’s director Mohit Arora said. He added that the fund has been raised as debt. 
 
Referring to the slowdown in demand liquidity crunch, he said, "We do not want to stop construction activities because of slowdown. So, we are raising funds." 
 Supertech had earlier raised Rs 400 crore from <keyword id="788275" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Xander">Xander</keyword>, a private equity firm, to fund its township and housing projects in Gurgaon. 
 
The realty major has an area of more than 90 million square feet under construction.

Buyers of the twin towers at Noida's <keyword id="255705" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Emerald-Court">Emerald Court</keyword> finally had a sigh of relief after months of anxiety. Holding that flat owners cannot be forced to wait indefinitely due to litigation, a bench headed by Chief Justice RM Lodha ordered the builder to refund the money to buyers. 
"We had been asking for a refund and there were several rounds of interaction with the builder. We don't know the final implication of this order and who all shall benefit from it, but for those of us who wanted our money back, this is a boon," said Sudeep Manchanda, one of the group of buyers seeking a refund. 
 "The Supreme Court order is being welcomed by most of us who strategised this initiative to get our funds back. For a group of us, we wanted to get our money back so that we could get a reprieve from the double payments of monthly instalments and rents. So while <keyword id="6400590" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Supertech">Supertech</keyword> was always ready to pay back the buyers in spirit, this order has only brought finality," said KK Mittal, another buyer who had sought a refund. 
 
Responding to the Supreme Court directive, RK Arora, chairman and managing director of Supertech, said, "We will comply with the orders of the honourable Supreme Court to return the money to all those allottees who exercised their option for refund by April 30." 
 
He also added, "We had sought options from allottees whether to get refund of their money or to get alternative flats in other projects, to be exercised up to April 30. Accordingly, the options received up to that date shall be disposed off as per the orders of the Supreme Court."

Two high-rise apartment buildings that were constructed illegally have been blown up by authorities in India

New Delhi, Mar 23 () CREDAI-MCHI, an apex body for realty firms of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), on Monday said it has converted a municipal training centre into a quarantine facility for over 250 patients because of spread of the coronavirus disease. Separately, Supertech Chairman R K Arora said the company has created a eight-member technical expert team, which can be deployed by the district administration for carrying out sanitisation activities in housing societies at Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The expenses will be borne by the company, he added. CREDAI-MCHI said in a statement that it has converted the Municipal Capacity Building and Research Centre (MCMCR) into a quarantine centre which could be used for testing and self-isolation. The 5-storey building has been fitted with latest facilities including 250 beds, spacious rooms, conference rooms for doctors etc, it added. CREDAI MCHI President Nayan Shah said: "The MCMCR facility, which is a municipal training facility, has been transformed into a quarantine centre which will be able to house over 250+ patients." New Delhi, Jan 17 () Realtors' apex body CREDAI on Friday said its developer members have given flat allotment letters to families of nine CRPF personnel martyred in terror attack at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
 After the attack in February 2019, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) had promised to offer a two-bedroom house to each family of CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack.
 On Friday, CREDAI, which has 12,000 members, organised a ceremony in Delhi-NCR to hand over flat allotment letters to the families of Pulwama martyrs. 
 D S Chauhan, IPS, NS, IGP, members of CRPF and the developers who have donated the flats were present at the occasion.
 "The association has handed over 9 flat allotment letters to the families of Pulwama martyrs in Delhi-NCR," CREDAI said in a statement. 
 Additionally, 10 flats have already been allotted in other states -- West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand out of total 40 flats committed by CREDAI.
