Are you offended as an American that <span class="_dwd st s std">Beyoncé pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl? Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement? Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified? Come and let's stand together. People upset about Beyonce's Super Bowl show are organizing a protest at NFL headquarters

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5719260252bcd029008be2d2-941-706/prince.jpg" alt="prince" data-mce-source="Getty"><p class="source"><span>Getty</span></p></img></div><p></p></div></div>There's no bigger stage for an American musician than the Super Bowl halftime show, watched by the entire country in the middle of its favorite pastime.<p>For Prince, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/prince-is-dead-2016-4">who died Thursday</a>, it was simply confirmation of the obvious: He had become a national legend.</p><p>In 2007, he played the halftime like a champion taking his victory lap (he had already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three years earlier). He was, as always, confident, strutting down a stage in the shape of the male symbol in his bold colors that were somehow&#xa0;both feminine and masculine.</p><p>He went through not only his own hits, but&#xa0;also those of Jimi Hendrix and the Foo Fighters (the latter of which was definitely an improvement over the original). While Prince crossed genres from funk and soul to pop, here he was pure rock and roll. He made previous halftime performers, even Michael Jackson and U2,&#xa0;look small by comparison.</p><p>The kicker is his ending, "Purple Rain," just as a rainstorm is beginning to fall. If there's a more cathartic moment in rock history, I don't know it. Gilmore notched a forced fumble, an interception, three pass breakups, and five tackles, while McCourty posted four tackles of his own and made an incredible, cross-field play to prevent a seemingly wide-open Los Angeles touchdown.</p><p>Edelman undoubtedly put on a fantastic performance, but given the fact that the Patriots only posted 13 points of their own and none of them belonged to Edelman, some fans saw the decision to name him MVP as a slight to the defense.</p><p>Even Edelman himself hinted that he's apart of that camp.</p><p>"You gotta tip your hat to our defense," Edelman said after the game. "They are the real MVP to me. They held that offense to three points. Julian Edelman's career performance won Super Bowl MVP, but many felt the voters overlooked the defense and got it wrong

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/5899de003149a1b6008b5a48-2400/undefined" alt="lady gaga super bowl flight arrow" data-mce-source="Getty"><p class="source"><span>Getty</span></p></img></div><p></p></div></div>Lady Gaga seemed to fly seamlessly from the top of NRG Stadium in Houston for her <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/lady-gaga-super-bowl-halftime-show-video-2017-2">stunning Super Bowl halftime show</a> on Sunday, and down onto a platform below.<p>But it turns out the drop from the top of NRG was actually a pre-recorded stunt. <a href="http://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/02/yes-those-were-drones-at-lady-gagas-super-bowl-51-halftime-show" target="_blank">USA Today spoke to two top people at Intel Drones</a> - which provided the drones in the sky behind Gaga that displayed the US flag and the Pepsi logo - who confirmed that her stunt was done in advance.</p><p>The Intel sources explained that the opening&#xa0;jump was filmed ahead of time due to "<span>weather and environment" issues. Basically, if there had been rain during the Super Bowl, the roof of the stadium where Gaga was standig would have been closed. While the drones still could have operated, Gaga obviously couldn't have flown down from a closed stadium.</span></p><p><span>But Gaga did indeed drop from the top of NRG Stadium in the pre-recorded bit, and did not use a stunt double, so we can still be impressed.</span></p><p><span>Clever editing made it appear both at home and on the jumbotrons at the stadium that Gaga's drop from the top of the stadium led directly into her flight on cables in the middle of the stadium. Lady Gaga's jump from the top of the Super Bowl stadium was actually an edited illusion

<p>Katy Perry may have had everyone talking during the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/katy-perry-super-bowl-halftime-show-2015-2">Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show</a> when she rode in on a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/super-bowl-katy-perry-halftime-show-tiger-2015-2">giant mechanical tiger</a>; however, it's one of the singer's backup dancing shark that stole the spotlight.</p>
<p>About halfway through Perry's halftime show performance, the singer took the stage with a bunch of cartoonish characters ranging from over-sized beach balls to googly-eyed palm trees.</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">NBC will be offering an 11-hour live stream of the Super Bowl, and that includes the full game along with the half-time show headlined by Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz. (If you're looking for something to watch afterwards, NBC will also be airing an episode of "The Blacklist.")</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Thankfully, you won't have to sign in to watch the game, as NBC is waving the usual required subscription for one day only. The singer has also been blasted by certain&#xa0;pundits for her video for her newest single "<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/beyonce-new-video-anti-police-formation-references-2016-2">Formation</a>," which honors the Black Lives Matter movement and&#xa0;some believe has an <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/beyonce-super-bowl-formation-song-anti-police-2016-2">anti-police</a>&#xa0;message.&#xa0;</span></p><p>In a release posted February 17, Ortiz wrote, "<span>The fact that Beyonc used this year's Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her anti-police message shows how she does not support law enforcement."</span></p><p>He wrote that he did not watch the Super Bowl performance "out of respect for our profession," though he "mistakenly" watched her "Formation" video.</p><p>"I challenge&#xa0;<span>Beyoncé</span> to review the eighty-six page report written by the United States Department of Justice on the death investigation of Michael Brown," he wrote. He later added, "Hands up, don't shoot was built on a lie."</p><p>Ortiz also mentioned his support to police officers killed by the Black Panthers.</p><p>"While&#xa0;<span>Beyoncé</span> physically saluted the 50th anniversary of the Black Panthers movement at the Super&#xa0;Bowl, I salute NYPD Officer Richard Rainey, who succumbed to his injuries on February 16, 2016 from being shot by two Black Panthers who he had pulled over in a traffic stop," he wrote. Miami's police union president calls for officers to boycott Beyonce

<p><keyword id="25253" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="PETA">PETA</keyword> is <a href="http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/peta_slams_beyonce_animal_skin_shoes_r9yzdyujEi9ikuFVXrSKbJ">furious about a pair</a> of Beyoncé's sneakers, which are made from five different animals. </p>
<p>She wore the Rubin Singer <keyword id="21227" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="shoes">shoes</keyword> at the Superbowl Halftime Show. </p>

In a profile for&#xa0;<a href="http://www.examiner.com.au/story/1986892/dancing-to-beat-of-his-own-drum/">Australia's Examiner in 2013</a>, Lockhart Brownlie said that he and three other dancers had left Swift mid-tour to work with Perry.&#xa0;This was before the feud had even gone public.</p><p>Brownlie <a href="http://www.examiner.com.au/story/1986892/dancing-to-beat-of-his-own-drum/">told the Examiner</a> that he'd worked on Swift's Red tour for the first six months. Then, he and two other dancers who'd worked with Perry before heard from her. She wanted to hire them again.</p><p>"Obviously, we were with Katy for two and a half years, she's like family to us, so we were like, 'Absolutely,'" Brownlie <a href="http://www.examiner.com.au/story/1986892/dancing-to-beat-of-his-own-drum/">told the Examiner</a>. Then, after they've beaten all of the men, the brunette counterpart turns on Swift. After that, Swift rounds up a girl group consisting of her real-life besties in hopes of exacting revenge.</p><p>The video mapped out Swift's strategy. She'd amass an army of celebrity allies, turning her image into one of uniting and powerful feminism. Anyone who stepped in her way would be destroyed by her and her alliances.</p><p><div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/QcIy9NiNbmo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div></p><h2>Nicki Minaj got dragged into the mess.</h2><p>Perry noticed that she was the symbolic loser of the video.</p><p>So did Nicki Minaj.</p><p>After the 2015 VMA award nominations were announced, Minaj <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/nicki-minaj-and-taylor-swift-fight-on-twitter-2015-7">sounded off</a> about how her <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDZX4ooRsWs">"Anaconda" video</a> wasn't nominated. Instead, she stayed away, which made her seem above the fray and like the bigger person.</p><h2>When it comes to likability, Perry's final chess move was supporting Hillary Clinton during election season.</h2><p>Throughout the 2016 presidential election, Katy Perry has been a consistent, strong supporting of Clinton's candidacy for the presidency. It was a smart move. For Clinton, because <a href="http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/7424004/katy-perry-90m-most-followed-person-on-twitter">Perry is one of the most-followed people on social media on the planet</a> (she has the most Twitter followers; Swift comes in third). Despite <a href="http://fusion.net/story/355605/taylor-swift-political-stance-donald-trump/">calls for her to make a statement against Trump</a> as more and more women accused him of sexual assault, she didn't make any public statements about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or anything else during the election.</p><p>It might have been a business move - she couldn't have wanted to alienate Trump supporters (or Clinton supporters, for that matter) - but she&#xa0;let the biggest feminist movement of the century pass right by her.</p><p>On election day, Swift <a href="http://www.thisisinsider.com/who-is-taylor-swift-voting-for-2016-11">might have released a cryptic clue that she voted for Hillary Clinton</a>, but she never made her position explicit. It's hard to tell.</h2><p>Right now, Perry's support of Clinton makes her a symbol of progress and explicit feminism. She's strengthened her role as a public figure, and&#xa0;her refusal to explicitly engage with Swift makes her seem above it all. It's like she's taken a break from the celebrity gossip game, and looks better for it.</p><p>Swift, on the other hand, was in a series of tabloid stories this year - like her feud with Kim and Kanye, and her short-lived romance with Tom Hiddleston - but seems to have come out best in the end.</p><p>It's worth noting that Swift is the highest-paid celebrity in the world, <a href="http://www.forbes.com/celebrities/list/#tab:overall">according to Forbes</a>, earning $170 million this year.
