<br /> <keyword id="51948" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sukhoi">Sukhoi</keyword>, which is Russia's top aircraft manufacturer, is hoping to sign a partnership deal with Tata this year, which would enable it to manufacture key airplane parts for its 100-seat Superjet, that is aimed to be marketed in India.<br />
<br /> Officials from both companies are in crucial stages of talking about outsourcing manufacturing of the aircraft parts, said Eugene Andrachnikou, senior VP (Sales and Marketing) at Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (<keyword id="3991852" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="SCA">SCA</keyword>), which is the producer of Sukhoi Superjet 100 (<keyword id="3249613" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="ssj100">SSJ100</keyword>).<br />
<br /> Andrachnikou added that once all specifics are agreed upon, production of SSJ100 parts would be given to <keyword id="363595" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Tata-Advanced-Systems">Tata Advanced Systems</keyword>.<br />
The SSJ100 is the first 100-seat jet that has a full fly-by- wire system, and is designed to optimise handling, reduce flight crew workload and maximise the fuel efficiency.<br />

Andrachnikou  was speaking at the Singapore Airshow 2016, where he said that SCA had also initiated discussions with Indian airlines on deploying the SSJ100 in the country. The aircraft can carry 100-120 passengers over a distance of 4,200 kilometres.<br />

"We expect to put about 50 SSJ100 in the Indian market with the next three to five years," he added. This proves that India remains an attractive market for the superjet.

The first video shows flames and black smoke billowing from the plane but does not indicate what caused the plane to catch fire or how long it had been burning.&#xa0;</p><p>A second video soon emerged that suggests that the plane may not have caught fire until the aircraft bounced violently during the landing attempt, and seemingly caused the main landing gear to collapse. As a result, the crew declared an emergency and returned to the airport.</p><p>Later, the flight's pilot Denis Yevdokimov told Russian media that the malfunction in question was a communications system failure brought on by lightning, <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/pilot-says-lightning-caused-deadly-russian-crash-landing-094147730.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AFP reported</a>.&#xa0;</p><p>"The crew of the Aeroflot aircraft, which took off today from Moscow for Murmansk and was forced to return to Sheremetyevo airport due to technical reasons, did everything possible to save passengers," Aeroflot said in a statement. "The aircraft was evacuated in 55 seconds, compared to the industry norm of 90 seconds. <p><div class="image-container float_right" style="width:480px"><div class="image"><p class="source"><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SukhoiSuperjet_100-95_97004_UUBW.png">Wikimedia Commons</a></p></div></div>A Sukhoi Superjet 100, the <a href="http://rt.com/news/superjet-100-order-book-hikes-by-50/" target="_blank">first new civil airplane developed in Russia</a> since the collapse of the Soviet Union, hit the runway with its landing gear up during a test flight in <keyword id="55091" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Iceland">Iceland</keyword> on Sunday, injuring one.</p>
<p>In a statement, <a href="http://www.scac.ru/en/mediacenter/aviation-incident-with-sukhoi-superjet-100-during-test-flights-on-expanding-operational-conditions21-07-2013/2013/" target="_blank">Sukhoi Civil Aircraft said</a> the SSJ100 "touched the runway with retracted landing gear," and one of the five people on board hurt his leg.</p>
<p>The flight was part of a program to test the aircraft's automatic landing system in strong crosswinds, while imitating the failure of one of two engines. It is unclear why the landing gear was not deployed<span> at Reykjavik's Keflavic International Airport. </span></p>
<p>In a <a href="http://www.scac.ru/en/mediacenter/incident-with-experimental-ssj100-has-no-impact-on-operations-of-this-aircraft-type-by-airlines22-07-2013/2013/" target="_blank">second statement</a>, Sukhoi said the incident will not not impact airlines operating the SSJ100, because the testing was conducted to earn a supplemental certification not necessary for commercial use.</p>
<p>Nonetheless, the incident is bad news for Sukhoi, and calls to mind the crash of a SSJ100 in May 2012. All 45 people on board a demonstration flight were killed when the plane smashed into the side of an Indonesian volcano. The accident was <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/06/18/us-russia-sukhoi-interjet-idUSBRE95H1BN20130618" target="_blank">eventually blamed on pilot error</a>.</p>
<p>Mexican low-cost airline Interjet <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/interjets-ssj100-jets-look-great-2013-7" target="_blank">took delivery of its first SSJ110</a> last month, at the Paris Air Show. It is the first Western airline to buy the aircraft.</p>

A Rough Landing During A Flight Test Is Bad News For Russia's New Jet

<p>At the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/category/paris-air-show-2013" target="_blank">Paris Air Show</a> in June, low cost carrier Interjet took delivery of the first of 20 new SuperJet SSJ110s, built by <keyword id="6358826" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Russia">Russia</keyword>'s Sukhoi.</p>
<p>The 100-seat <keyword id="6367788" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Planes">planes</keyword> are a logical fit for Interjet, which operates relatively short, regional flights. It's the first Western airline to operate them.</p>
<p>We stepped on board the new jet in Paris, and were rather impressed: It feels clean and comfortable — not the first things that come to mind when flying from Miami to <keyword id="3746" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Mexico">Mexico</keyword> City for under $300.</p>
<p>The interior is the work of Italian design firm Pininfarina, and puts a great face on a jet with a troubled history. Last year, 45 people died when one of the jets crashed in Indonesia. Investigators blamed the crash on pilot error, <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/06/18/us-russia-sukhoi-interjet-idUSBRE95H1BN20130618" target="_blank">according to Reuters</a>.</p>
