The campaign was later followed in India and gained a huge momentum on social media as more than 11,000 users shared their Wrapped cards. The maximum search volume for #SpotifyWrapped so far, came from Goa, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Delhi and Karnataka. Beyond users and artists, brands and influencers also joined in the -- right from Netflix to Boscia and Akshar Pathak. To amplify the impact of this consumer engaging campaign further, Spotify is now running ‘Well Played India’, a marketing campaign across TV, outdoor, and digital, to celebrate how Indians listened to music through 2019. The essence of this campaign is to highlight the biggest music streaming trends across the country, based on cultural and seasonal moments of listening. What differentiates this campaign from Spotify’s previous marketing campaigns here is that ‘Well Played India’ at its core, is powered by data, and an ode to India’s growing passion for music, transitioning from a recreational experience, to a more integral part of the daily social fabric across user moods and moments.

The trend appears to have been started by Alexandria McLean, a TikToker from Toronto who amassed over one million views with a video where <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@alexandriathemediocre/video/7172612749208325382">she divulged details</a> like how many dates she went on and what apps she used to find dates. "Truly one of the most depressing things I've ever done," McLean said at the clip's start.A slew of creators have hopped on the trend. The TikToker explains how much money she spent on dates, how many first dates she went on during the year (18), and where she found the men, including one through Facebook."I 1000% would not recommend that," she said. "I would rather ask my father to buy me lingerie than to get back on Facebook Dating." Spotify's Wrapped campaign, which <a href="https://thebaffler.com/latest/wrapped-and-sold-pelly">has been criticized</a> in the past for flattening music and art down to pure metrics, seemed to spawn an excess of memes and parodies this year. Some internet users mocked the strange personality categories and genres Spotify created for listeners, while others theorized about a multitude of fictional Wrapped versions — including a compilation for best tweets and an <a href="https://twitter.com/nona_uppal/status/1599060931837063168">Uber Wrapped</a> that tells users how much time they've "killed just sitting in a cab."

Inspired by the annual <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/streaming/how-to-find-spotify-wrapped">Spotify Wrapped craze,</a> creators are making "high school wrapped" slideshows that analyze how many are in relationships, which ones have already gotten married, where they've all moved to, and other major life updates and milestones.The trend <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@rhiannoncunningham/video/7187795852319018246" target="_blank" rel="noopener">appeared to begin</a> with the Australian influencer Rhiannon Cunningham, whose "high school wrapped" video from January 12 has amassed over 13.5 million views. She herself has over 323,000 followers. Cunningham collected information on 140 out of the 153 people in her 2016 graduate class — or those she could find information about online. Her presentation scrolled through a number of slideshows and hilarious rankings, including classmates' "dateability," where they live, "key life moments" (like giving birth, owning a home, or prison sentences), and who got hotter over time."It was just scary to see how many people literally looked exactly the same," she said at one point.Cunningham found some interesting discoveries, like how nearly all of the people from her graduate class remained in Australia (she was one of the outliers, now living in England).After Cunningham's video jumped in views, a number of other creators started making these kinds of slideshows, including a <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@iced_oat_milk_latte/video/7187883378379689221?_t=8ZHIBQ7sJ2Y&amp;_r=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toronto-based TikToker</a> who said she was directly inspired by the influencer. Ava Cole, a 21-year-old TikToker from Florida, told Insider that <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@avaisabellacole/video/7188695359353572654" target="_blank" rel="noopener">making her video</a> took around six hours because she went through her senior class yearbook and tried to look up everyone on social media. Her 2020 graduate class had 330 students, although she said in her video she couldn't find information on almost a third of them."I saw some girl do it in England &amp; thought it was so funny," Cole told Insider over Instagram. "It also intrigued me because I didn't like the majority of my class and had NO idea what they were doing now because as soon as I went to college I went out of state." She found out that ten of her classmates who dated in high school seem to still be in those relationships, and that two of them already have children together."A lot of people from my class did end up seeing the video," Cole told Insider. "Both people with kids saw it and commented ... other people from my class commented as well." "It's not my job to educate you on why you shouldn't hate women."She gets some pushback, mostly from men, she said, who say she is sinking to the same level as those she is criticizing. But to this, Afualo highlighted that her comments are always "silly" in nature. "I said you look like The Good Dinosaur and all of a sudden I'm meanest girl ever," she told Insider. "You made a joke and I made a joke, but somehow mine's mean, and yours isn't?
