The only catch is that it has only been launched for Android users and the company has plans to launch an iOS version of Spotify Lite just yet. “We are committed to the long-term development of the music streaming industry, and the launch of Spotify Lite is another strong step in that direction," <keyword id="1901642" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amarjit-SIngh-Batra">Amarjit Singh Batra</keyword>, Managing Director of <keyword id="6118216" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Spotify-India">Spotify India</keyword> said in a statement.  ‘Lite apps’ To capture users in rural areas who may not have the best data connectivity or users who are using entry level devices, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/chrome-lite-firefox-lite-india-launch-for-slow-speed-internet/articleshow/68402566.cms">‘lite’ apps</a> advertise themselves as the toned down version of the original apps they represent — but use less storage, consume less data and don’t impact the phone’s processor and battery as much. Keeping in line with that mandate, Spotify Lite is simpler than the original Spotify app while keeping most of the features but packaged to be considerably smaller at a size of 10MB. The company claims that 90% of the features from the original app are still a part of Spotify Lite. But animations and visual effects have been toned down since they aren’t ‘critical to the core experience’. This is the third Nord device we have seen in the last 10 months and it seems like the number is only going to increase from here. It doesn’t come as a surprise as the company has already shared its plan to go full frontal in the budget segment with the Nord series — It started with Nord, then a CE variant, and now a CE Lite. Does it live upto the OnePlus standards and can it make a mark in a segment mostly dominated by Xiaomi and Realme? I will try to answer that in my review. Price and Availability The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite starts at ₹19,999 for the base variant that comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You can get an upgraded 8GB of RAM by spending ₹21,999, with similar storage. You can buy the Nord CE 2 Lite from the Amazon India website or OnePlus’s own website. Design &amp; Build Quality This latest Nord is a fresh take on the classic OnePlus’ design. It has the shades of its elder sibling CE 2 but adds a more contemporary approach to it. Sporting a plastic build, the Nord CE 2 Lite makes it evident that it’s a budget phone and the signs of cost-cutting are obvious in this department. <div type="image" title="OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G&amp;#39;s Bahama Blue color" msid="91156394" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G&amp;#39;s Blue Tide color looks good&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The phone is thick and weighs 195 grams, and you can feel the weight while using it in one hand, which might be an issue with those with a small palm. The big 5000 mAh battery is sort of a reason, but I feel OnePlus could have done better with the weight distribution. On the back, there is a protruding camera bump, but we can’t complain about that anymore since it’s a common smartphone trait. Yes, it does wobble a bit when you put it on the table, however, slapping on the bundled case takes care of that issue. The unit with me is in a new Blue Tide color which has a tint of green in it as well. Looking different from the Bahama Blue on Nord CE 2, this color definitely stands out. The matte finish only adds to the appeal since it provides a better grip and is less prone to smudges. The rest of the design characteristics are closer to the Nord CE 2. For starters, just like the former, CE 2 Lite does not get an alert slider. I would have ranted about it, but here the absence can be passed as it comes at a low price point. We do get a headphone jack, which is a rare feature on phones these days. It’s responsive and unlocks the phone with a gentle tap. While modern phones have moved on to in-display fingerprint sensor, a lot of OEMs like Samsung and Realme are now shifting back to the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which was first introduced by Sony. I personally prefer the in-display fingerprint sensor, but this one is also perfectly functional and performs very well. <div type="image" title="Side-mounted fingerprint sensor" msid="91156461" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The volume rockers are on the left side, which is of good quality material and does the job well. The phone does feel robust, but an official IP rating adds psychological satisfaction to the consumer. The latest Nord features a massive 6.5-inch punch-hole display with 2412x1080 pixels resolution. Being used to gorgeous displays on OnePlus devices including the Nord CE 2 with an AMOLED panel, the CE 2 Lite leaves you wanting for more. It doesn’t mean that it’s bad by any means, the colors look vibrant and the display manages to reproduce crisp images and retain details. Watching content on it is also satisfactory, however, you do miss out on deeper blacks, sharpness and vibrance of an AMOLED panel. You need to set it to max brightness in order to view the content on the screen under direct sunlight. I was using the auto-brightness initially, but it wasn’t adjusting the brightness as required. There is no adaptive refresh rate, but a user can simply switch between the standard 60Hz and 120Hz. During my testing the display was set to 120Hz, adding a zing to my experience. The smooth flowing animation and the responsiveness of the screen made the interaction wholesome. While OnePlus has tried to do justice to the user with the LCD panel, it is important to point out that Samsung did a better job on the Galaxy F23 5G. With similar specs, the LCD display on the Galaxy F23 5G is brighter and the adaptive refresh rate feature comes in handy when you switch between content, playing games or just scrolling through web pages. OnePlus combines the display with a single loudspeaker that delivers quality sound. It compliments the screen well while facing the same issue that every bottom-firing speaker does - your palm can block it in landscape orientation. But when it doesn't, the audio experience is satisfactory. UI - The USP Running on Android 12 out of the box, the latest Nord comes with Oxygen OS 12 skin. As clean as it can get, the CE 2 Lite’s OS is perhaps its strongest characteristic, especially for an affordable phone. There is practically no bloatware, except for OnePlus’ proprietary apps like community and the OnePlus store. OnePlus has introduced some new shortcuts for better productivity, like the ‘shelf’. A swipe on the top right brings down a tray that has all the essentials one needs. From data to weather and even app widgets. However, I would suggest keeping it classy and sticking to the stock skin. It’s subtle and easily understandable. You can do more aesthetic customizations on the phone like changing app icon styles and transitions. All of these make the experience intimate and you feel closer to the device. So far I have not come across any bugs that trouble me. But we have to note that this is a brand new unit, and the performance tends to go down eventually. OnePlus provides both fingerprint and face recognition on the CE 2 Lite. While the fingerprint sensor is snappy as I mentioned earlier in the piece, the face scanner struggles to unlock the device. And if you are wearing a mask, then there is no chance of it unlocking. Performance - Surprisingly fast Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC the Nord CE 2 Lite, puts itself in a respectable space. Yes, its direct competitors like the Samsung Galaxy F23 come with the Snapdragon 750 5G chipset, but the performance in real-time is at par. The device with me packs in 8GB of RAM and delivers snappy performance. Boot-up speed is quick and you can expect the phone to start in a blink. Memory retention so far has been satisfactory, and the device usually boots up applications from the point where I left them. This includes heavy games like BGMI. This also brings us to the gaming performance on the phone. I played 3 action-packed rounds of BGMI on the CE 2 Lite and the experience was by far the best I have seen on a budget device. Running the game on HD settings, and high refresh rate there were minimal frame drops. The 120Hz refresh rate also adds to the experience. There is also a game mode on the phone that uplifts the experience. A simple swipe opens up a menu tray to look at the thermals, put the phone on silent mode and even record the screen. Yes, the phone does heat up while playing games, but it was only in the third round when I felt the heat. Yet, it is not unbearable, and in line with the output, you are getting. Before we move on to the battery performance it’s important to highlight the storage. The 128GB storage on my unit should be enough for most generic users. However, if you want more you can put in an SD card for upto 1TB capacity. Time to talk about battery life. Packing in a 5000 mAh cell, the Nord CE 2 lite, is a powerhouse. On a working day, the smartphone gave me a mileage of about 5 and a half hours and then some. This involved mostly calling casual social media, and occasional gaming. With the 35W SuperVOOC charger in the box, CE 2 Lite would charge from 0-100% in about 50 minutes. Clearly, the numbers are strong with this one. But, note the battery life mostly depends on your usage. Camera - The weak link The CE 2 Lite is a classic case of camera specs not translating to performance. I had some decent expectations from it, but I was thoroughly disappointed. The camera, while being quick in taking snaps, tends to fail at capturing natural colors. Then there is a 2MP depth sensor for those portrait shots. The edge detection is satisfactory and the portraits do come out well. The performance is also similar and the output is fairly decent. You can use AI as well to tweak your images. From nose shape to cheeks you can fiddle around with everything. Verdict The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is a trimmed down version of an already toned down version of the Original Nord- which is also a budget offering from OnePlus. Do you see the paradox here? By itself, this smartphone seems to be a strong contender against its counterparts like the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G or Realme 9. However, I feel its real competitors are from its own family. If you want the OnePlus experience on a budget, and can spend some more money then I would recommend going for the CE 2. This device is meant for users who want reliable performance in terms of battery, display and a clean software experience. However, if you are looking for a great camera then you should consider Mi 11 Lite. Amazon's rumored on-demand streaming service, Amazon Prime Music, launched today.
Amazon Music lets you search through a catalogue of over 1 million songs in addition to a collection of curated playlists. You can stream songs on-demand over Wi-Fi or your data plan, and just like Spotify, you can also download tracks directly to your device for offline playback.

The streaming service works on pretty much any device you can think of: iPhones, iPads, Amazon Kindle tablets, Android devices, Mac and PC, and there's even a browser version.
You'll need to be an Amazon Prime member to use the service, and there's no "lite" version with radio or baked-in adds; in fact, there's no radio service or advertisements at all. Prime membership costs $99 a year, but that gets you access to Amazon's Prime Instant Video library, free two-day shipping on plenty of items, and the ability to take out books from Kindle's Lending Library.
It's a nice cherry on top of an already solid bundle of services, and that's where the genius of Amazon Music comes into play. Amazon Music is best thought of as a less-impressive and less-comprehensive Spotify Premium, but Amazon is betting it might prove to be the perk that pushes people over the edge and into its Prime membership.
We gave Amazon Music a try on iPhone, iPad, and the web browser player. Here's what it's like:

Since Amazon Music encompasses any of your past Amazon MP3 or Cloud music purchases and puts them all in one place, you can check out your purchased or uploaded music - or just right into streaming.

Browsing is a pretty standard experience; you can switch among songs, albums, and playlists. The blue plus buttons will add music or entire albums to a collection called Your Library, which holds all your past Amazon purchases or uploads.

The Prime selection is hands-down the weakest part of Amazon Music. 1 million songs may seem like a lot, but when compared with streaming leader Spotify, it just doesn't hold up. Amazon also has yet to forge a deal with Universal Music Group, and the portfolio of hit-makers is noticeably absent.
It will depend on how obscure or mainstream your music tastes are: If you're into the hits, you'll notice a lot of holes; if you're into music that most people haven't heard of, Amazon's lack of robust library will also likely stump you. It's a middle ground that hurts Amazon Music, and only strengthens the idea that Amazon Music is designed to be added icing on the already-frosted cake that is the Prime ecosystem.
The best feature of Amazon Music is the ability to not only save songs to your collection, but to also download them onto your device for offline play. It's a feature commuters and people without data plans have gravitated toward Spotify Premium for in the past, but Amazon Music lets you do it, too. For Spotify Premium users who are also Prime members, it just might be the feature that prompts them to make the jump.
To download a song to your device, you'll first have to save it to your library. After that, you just swipe left and tap "download."

Another big focus of Amazon Music is in building playlists and streaming the playlists Amazon curates for you. It's simple enough to add songs to playlists, but for those who commute to work in a car or by subway where service is spotty or nonexistent, you'll need to create a playlist containing only tracks downloaded offline to the device.

Underneath the hood, Amazon allows you to choose between low-, medium-, or high-quality bit rates for streaming, though it tops out at 256Kbps, whereas Spotify Premium offers 320Kbps. You can also import playlists already on your device (such as the Purchased playlist from any device with iTunes music). There's additional options to increase your cache size, ensure you only stream or download music while connected to Wi-Fi, auto-download any music purchases from Amazon, and (of course) a toggle for broadcasting what you're listening to via Facebook.
There's still plenty of bugs to be worked out. In particular, the Search function is pretty terrible in its current state. More often than not, plugging in an artist or specific song would result in a hit, but once the song, album, or artist was selected, a loading screen would freeze the screen until an error message appeared.

At the end of its first day, Amazon Music has proven it's capable of delivering the core on-demand streaming experience people desire. The library of streaming tracks is skeletal, sure, but Amazon has the power to change that, it's just a matter of when.
Most importantly, Amazon Music has chosen the right bundle of features from Spotify to mimic. Apple, on the other hand, failed in this regard with iTunes Radio, which takes from radio-streaming services such as Pandora. People like the ability to search for specific songs, and Amazon Music has hitched itself onto the right train.
The real test will be for those already entrenched in Spotify's ecosystem.
With its monstrous music selection, Spotify is still the best streaming app out there. But it's no longer a no-brainer, and those with a foot in both Amazon and Spotify's camp will need to weigh the ability to cut costs with the very real hit to music selection they would face for making the jump.

New Delhi, July 13 (IANS) South Korean tech giant Samsung on Monday expanded its Internet of Things (IoT) product portfolio in the country with the launch of a connected SpaceMax Family Hub refrigerator with a huge capacity of 657 litres. The refrigerator will be available for pre-booking on Flipkart, Samsung.com and other online stores at a special price of Rs 196,990 from July 13-July 26. The pre-book offer also includes additional benefits like cashback up to Rs 9,000 and free Galaxy Note 10 Lite worth Rs 37,900. After the initial offer period, the SpaceMax Family Hub will be available for Rs 2.19 lakh, the company said in a statement. "SpaceMax Family Hub will become the epicentre to control, manage and view other connected devices at home and its intelligent features will enable busy families to stay better connected to one another," said Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India. The refrigerator sports a 21.5-inch FHD touch screen display with 25-watt speakers for non-stop entertainment. It has a built-in view inside camera that allows users to take a quick peek inside the refrigerator with a multi-finger swipe down on the screen, without opening the refrigerator.
