New Delhi, Feb 5 () Online Curated Content Providers (OCCP) including Hotstar, Voot, Jio, and SonyLiv have launched an initiative that aims to offer consumers a mechanism to air any grievance with regard to content by video streaming platforms, while creating a robust redressal system.The new Digital Curated Content Complaint Council (DCCCC) will seek to empower consumers to make informed choices on viewing content over OTT platforms, safeguard creative freedom of content creators and artists; create an ecosystem fostering innovation and abide by an individual's freedom of speech and expression, a statement said.It will also provide consumers with a complaints redressal mechanism with regard to content made available by OTTs (Over-The Top players).The council will be chaired by Justice A P Shah and will include other eminent personalities with knowledge of the digital medium, content creators and domain experts, to oversee interests of the sector as well as consumers, it said."OCCPs namely Hotstar, Voot, Jio, and SonyLiv have launched the DCCCC at the India Digital Summit on February 5, 2020," the statement by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) said.The council will offer a platform to the consumers to directly file complaints and get an easy time bound redressal."The DCCCC initiative is aimed at promoting customer confidence, commerce and creative content in India," the statement said.It pointed out that the intent of the latest initiative is to offer the consumer a platform to air grievance, while allowing platforms freedom to create content. SonyLIV onboards 50+ brands for India’s tour of England

This account which is shared by around 5-10 people, leaves little room for the half-price buyers to share it further. “We buy multiple subscriptions from another seller and sell them to different people at minimum rates. Everybody watches at different times during the day, hence, it doesn’t create any problems,” the seller told Business Insider India, on the condition of anonymity. They had invested over ₹3,000, and earned a profit of ₹4,000 in March itself. “Our plan is to expand our business and customer base and tie up with more OTT platforms. For this, we require an investment of ₹20,000,” the team member added. Hence, all the Indian users were dropped straight to the second episode of the series, breaking continuity. This isn’t the first time Amazon has done something like this. Previously, it had either cut scenes from an episode of the Grand Tour or wiped out an episode from American Gods featuring cows — a holy animal for Hindus — that could have triggered controversy. Prime isn’t the only OTT platform which is pivoting its content either. In 2017, Netflix India showcased the movie <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/31/arts/television/netflix-censorship-turkey-india.html">Angry Indian Goddess in the theatres with several cuts to avoid a backlash</a>. However, after heavy user demand, it released the uncut version. Netflix said, “Our members reached out to us and we listened.” Netflix’s popular Indian series — Sacred Games — landed in a lawsuit after several political parties <a href="https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/www.ndtv.com/india-news/complaint-against-nawazuddin-for-abusing-rajiv-gandhi-on-netflix-show-sacred-games-1880837%3famp=1&amp;akamai-rum=off">alleged that the thriller drama has defamed India’s late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi</a>. OTT platforms which had niche users when it started had earlier broadcasted content which would have been otherwise censored. These shows which are ‘streamed’ and now ‘shown like TV shows; came with warnings ahead -- and allowed makers with a creative edge. However, this theory is diluted now that OTT platforms have gained popularity, and a few shows with cult following are coming under the radar of religious and political groups. OTT platforms are supposed to self-censor like in the case of broadcasters as no regulations exist. Since many TV channels have been staying away from controversy, a need for laws was never felt. But OTT platforms are all set to breach them and <a href="https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/www.hollywoodreporter.com/amp/news/netflix-hotstar-talks-indian-government-establish-regulation-code-content-1257664">now talks have been doing the rounds that the government might step in to regulate it</a>. Presently, our footprint pervades the categories and genres of English, regional and factual entertainment besides Hindi entertainment, sports and movies. New Delhi, July 8 (IANS) Samsung on Wednesday launched its 2020 Smart TV line-up with the new Crystal 4K UHD and Unbox Magic 3.0 series in India. Crystal 4K UHD TV range is priced at Rs 44,400 for the 43-inch version, Ra 60,900 for the 50-inch version, Rs 67,900 for the 55-inch version, Rs 1,32,900 for the 65-inch version, and Rs 2,37,900 for the 75-inch model, available across Samsung retail partner stores. The new Smart TV line up builds on the content consumption trend, offering consumers the option to choose from a wide range of OTT platforms for an uninterrupted experience. "We are confident the new line of Crystal 4K UHD TVs will further strengthen our market leadership in this segment," Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India said in a statement. Unbox Magic 3.0 range will be available at a starting price of Rs 20,900 and go up to Rs 41,900. It will be available in two screen sizes - 32-inch and 43-inch. Consumers can also avail 'My Samsung My EMI' offer, with EMIs starting at Rs 990 for the 32-inch Smart TVs, Rs 1,190 for the 43-inch Smart TVs and Rs 1,990 for the 49-inch and above Smart TVs models. In addition to this, a cash back of up to 10 per cent on HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, SBI Cards is also available on all models, said the company. The new range of Smart TVs will come with two-year warranty - one-year standard warranty and one-year extended warranty on the panel. The Crystal 4K UHD line-up offers first-time connectivity, built-in Bluetooth connectivity with Bixby and Alexa for accessing more convenience and a connected ecosystem. Consumers can search for content, change channels, adjust volume, control playback and more with their voice. The Crystal line-up features a Personal Computer Mode that allows one to transform the TV into a personal computer. It enables consumers to create documents or work from the cloud. It also comes with wireless screen mirroring without Internet connection for a big screen or extended screen experience. The 2020 Smart TV range provoide consumers the option to choose from a wide range of OTT platforms such as YouTube, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+Hotstar, ZEE5, Eros Now, SonyLIV, Voot and so on.
