Google powers most of its cloud operations and services through electricity procured from the grid and is planning to run the entire operations on clean energy by 2030. Adani is expected to start commercial operations in the third quarter of 2025. At the '<keyword id="23413952" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-for-India" source="keywords">Google for India</keyword>' event, the search giant also announced a partnership with CleanMax for sourcing 125.4 MW of clean energy to power its offices and cloud regions in India. Of the contracted volumes, 66 MW solar energy will come from Rajasthan and 59.4 MW wind energy from Karantaka. "These projects are expected to start commercial operations in Q4 2025 and will deliver <keyword id="22243112" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="carbon-free-energy" source="keywords">carbon-free energy</keyword> to the grid where Google operates offices and cloud regions in India," Google said. While Google made the announcement at the 'Google for India' event here, the Adani Group gave details in a statement. "Through this partnership Adani will supply clean energy from a new solar-wind hybrid project located in the world's largest renewable energy plant at Khavda, Gujarat. This new project is expected to start commercial operations in the third quarter of 2025," the Adani group statement said. This innovative collaboration will help advance Google's 24/7 carbon-free energy goal by ensuring cloud services and operations in India are supported by clean energy and thereby contribute to the <keyword id="20289318" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sustainable-growth" source="keywords">sustainable growth</keyword> of Google in India. Adani had previously announced plans to set up data centres run on clean energy. It had in October 2022 leased 4.64 lakh square feet of space at its data centre in Noida to Raiden Infotech, an entity of Google.

These installations have resulted in cumulative savings of about Rs 20 crore per annum for customers. Tata Power mulls 10,000 MW clean energy capacity in next five years in Rajasthan

Multi-business company <keyword id="6357073" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="itc" source="Orion">ITC</keyword> Ltd on Tuesday said it has commissioned a 14.9 MW <keyword id="59444" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="solar-power-plant" source="Orion">solar power plant</keyword> in Dindigul, <keyword id="20154" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tamil-nadu" source="Orion">Tamil Nadu</keyword>. According to the company, the 14.9 MW <keyword id="70990" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="solar-power" source="Orion">solar power</keyword> plant was built at an outlay of Rs 76 crore thereby meeting 90 per cent of the company's power needs in Tamil Nadu from renewable sources. ITC plans to meet 100 per cent of the entire grid electricity requirements from renewable sources by 2030 and contribute meaningfully to combat the threat of climate change, the company said. Spread over 59 acres, the Dindigul solar plant will generate over 22 million units of renewable energy annually for ITC's hotels, food manufacturing plants, paper manufacturing facility, and printing and packaging factories in Tamil Nadu. "At ITC, we have relentlessly pursued a mission for environmental stewardship through a gamut of large-scale endeavours that comprehensively address the threat of climate change. Our large-scale investments in renewable energy assets are an integral part of our low carbon strategy aimed at making a meaningful contribution to a net zero economy," Sanjiv Rangrass, Group Head - ITC Life Sciences &amp; Technology, Central Projects, EHS &amp; Quality Assurance said. ITC's renewable portfolio comprises 138 MW of wind power plants and 14 MW of solar plants with 53MW of additional solar capacity under execution. Currently, projects are also underway in other sources of renewable energy like biomass boilers. The company has made investments of over Rs 1,000 crore in renewable energy assets to date. Renewable energy powers 20 factories, nine hotels, and six office buildings of ITC in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, West Bengal, and Punjab. In 2018, ITC became the first private sector entity to wheel renewable energy across states through the Inter-State Open Access mechanism. Currently, ITC's 46MW Wind power plant in Andhra Pradesh supplies power to over 15 ITC establishments in eight states. This has led to a higher renewable energy utilisation for the company. Besides investing in new renewable energy assets, ITC, as part of its Sustainability 2.0 agenda aims to achieve a 50 per cent reduction in specific emissions and a 30 per cent reduction in specific energy consumption by 2030 over a 2014-15 baseline. 90% of ITC's power needs in Tamil Nadu will be met through solar energy

New Delhi, The number of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations that are operating in the country has gone up to 12,146 as of February 2 this year, Minister of State for Heavy Industries, <keyword id="20219727" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="krishan-pal-gurjar" source="keywords">Krishan Pal Gurjar</keyword>, said in a written reply in the <keyword id="19895394" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lok-sabha" source="keywords">Lok Sabha</keyword> on Tuesday. The data provided by the minister shows that Maharashtra leads with 3,079 EV charging stations followed by Delhi with 1,886, while Karnataka is at the third spot with 1,041 charging stations. The top three states are followed by: <keyword id="19896018" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kerala" source="keywords">Kerala</keyword> (852), <keyword id="19896558" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tamil-nadu" source="keywords">Tamil Nadu</keyword> (643), Uttar Pradesh (582), <keyword id="19898913" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajasthan" source="keywords">Rajasthan</keyword> (500), Telangana (481), Gujarat (476) and Madhya Pradesh (341), making up the top 10 list. The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has been making consistent efforts for facilitating the promotion of EVs in India. The FAME-II scheme inter-alia included financial support in the form of subsidy for setting up of public charging infrastructure to instill confidence among the EV users, the minister said. Further, the Ministry of Power has taken several initiatives to accelerate the deployment of public EV charging infrastructure in the country. The government has issued guidelines and standards for charging infrastructure, which enable the owners of EVs to charge their vehicles at their residence/office using their existing electricity connections. A revenue sharing model for provision of land at promotional rates for public charging stations has also been introduced and provision has been made for providing electricity connection to Public Charging Station (PCS) within stipulated timelines. The government has also prescribed the single part EV tariff for public charging stations, This amount cannot exceed Average Cost of Supply (ACoS) till 31.03.2025. The guidelines specify a ceiling of Rs 2.50 per unit and Rs 3.50 per unit of electricity used for slow AC charging of EVs at PCS during the solar and non-solar hours, respectively. Additionally, a ceiling limit of Rs 10 per unit and Rs 12 per unit of electricity used for DC fast charging of EVs at PCS during the solar and non-solar hours, respectively, has also been specified. Average cost of supply (ACoS) by DISCOMs to PCSs during solar hours shall have a rebate of 20 per cent and a surcharge of 20 per cent during all other times. The Green Energy Open Access Rules, 2022, has been notified with the objective of further accelerating renewable energy adoption, ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and green energy for all, the minister added.

India has 12,146 EV charging stations, Maharashtra leads, Delhi second

The combined operational generation capacity of this newly added hybrid power plant is 700 MW and has a power purchase agreement (PPA) at Rs 3.24/kwh for 25 years, according to a statement from the firm released on Friday. This new hybrid power plant consists of a combination of 600 MW solar and 510 MW wind plants. The company said its latest hybrid plant deploys advanced renewable technologies like bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis trackers (HSAT) systems to enable maximum electricity generation from solar energy. A bifacial panel can generate power from both sides, boosting overall electricity production. The plant is co-located and is designed to deliver capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of minimum 50 per cent, the highest CUF of any renewable project in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>. The firm said the plant harnesses the potential of renewable energy by resolving intermittency of the generation and provides a more reliable solution to meet the rising power demand. With this, AGEL's operating wind-solar hybrid portfolio has now reached 2,140 MW, continuing to be the largest in the world, according to the company statement. With the successful operationalisation of the 700 MW plant, the world's largest wind-solar hybrid power plant, AGEL now has the largest operating renewable portfolio in India with 8,024 MW, <keyword id="4343578" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="adani-green" source="Orion">Adani Green</keyword> said on Friday. Adani Green says its operating renewable portfolio reaches 8,024 MW, largest in India

Jaipur, Feb 4 () All agricultural produce markets (mandis) and sub-markets in Rajasthan will soon get solar power plants, as per a proposal approved by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The chief minister also approved a proposal for setting up, operating and maintaining a solid waste management plant at Muhana Fruit and Vegetable Market here at a cost of Rs 33.37 crore, a government statement said. Gehlot issued financial and administrative approval for Rs 12.32-crore proposal for establishment of solar power plants, the statement added. According to the approved proposal of Agricultural Marketing Department, agricultural markets and sub-markets that have sufficient budget to set up solar power plants can take bank loan of 70 to 80 per cent of the total cost, it said. New Delhi, Dec 11 () Clean energy firm ReNew Power on Wednesday said it has joined hands with South Korea-based GS E&amp;C for execution of its 300 MW solar power plant in Rajasthan.
 ReNew Power announced a joint venture partnership with South Korea based GS E&amp;C in this regard, a company statement said.
 ReNew Power will hold a 51 per cent equity under the partnership, while the balance will be held by GS E&amp;C.
 "I expect the partnership to set new benchmarks in the Indian renewable energy space and look forward to executing more projects together," ReNew Power's Chairman and MD Sumant Sinha said.
 The project is part of the capacity auctioned by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under its tranche-IV auctions concluded earlier this year.
 GS E&amp;C, is South Korea's leading construction and development firm and is part of the GS Group, with an asset base of over USD 58 billion.
 This partnership will mark the entry of GS E&amp;C in the Indian renewable energy sector.
 "GS E&amp;C and ReNew Power will continue to play an important role achieving the country's ambitious target for the transition to cleaner energy," said Huh Yun Hong, the president and head of new business division of GS E&amp;C.

ReNew Power partners with GS E&C to execute solar project in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Feb 25 () Rajasthan targets to set up 30,000 MW solar power plants by the year 2024-25 in the state, Energy Minister B D Kalla said on Tuesday. Replying to a question raised by BJP legislator Arjun Lal Jingar during Question Hour in the Rajasthan Assembly, Kalla said the government has issued a new Solar Energy Policy-2019 to promote solar production in the state. The state government targets to set up 30,000 MW solar power plant by the year 2024-25 through the policy. He said that 24,000 MW capacity grid connected solar power plants/solar parks, 4,000 MW capacity decentralized solar power plants, and 1,000 MW capacity solar roof tops and solar pumps are targeted to be set up. He said that farmers in the state can install decentralised solar power plants ranging from 0.5 MW capacity to 2 MW capacity on unused land or wasteland in a distance of 5 km from 33/11 KV sub-station of power distribution corporations. Proposals were invited by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation from all interested applicants for implementation of the scheme to set up solar power plants or to lease the land. Kalla said that a total of 12,853 proposals have been received. The process of selection of solar energy producers is under progress under the scheme.
