<ul><li>A "perfect storm" has arrived for the digital advertising market, and it will lead to limited upside for <keyword id="12416504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="meta" source="Orion">Meta</keyword> Platforms and <keyword id="12019330" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="snap" source="Orion">Snap</keyword>, according to Barclays.</li><li>A decline in digital advertising and competition from TikTok and Apple will hurt other platforms.</li><li>"We think this cocktail of events is likely to generate the lowest growth rates for the sector in years," Barclays said. </li></ul>Even after a more than 50% year-to-date decline, the going could get even tougher for digital advertising platforms like <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/meta-stock">Meta</a>, <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/snap-stock">Snap</a>, and YouTube, according to a note from Barclays.The Wall Street firm said "a perfect storm" has arrived for the digital advertising space that could translate into limited upside for the companies impacted in the near-term.That perfect storm encompasses a three-part combination of factors that are adding to Barclays' concerns about the advertising space. According to Barclays, those factors include:1. "A step-down in spend and conversions across the whole internet ecosystem (ex-travel) in the second quarter."2. "Ascending trajectory from new challengers like TikTok and Apple, which are taking share at a time when macro is weakening materially." 3. "The obvious tough comparisons which are well documented.""We think this cocktail of events is likely to generate the lowest growth rate for the sector in years," Barclays said, adding that current valuations only partially reflect this scenario. Barclays expects 3% year-over-year growth for the industry this year. That's a marked slowdown from prior years when strong consumer spending habits drove strong demand for different advertising solutions. But as <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/us-economy-recession-deeper-gdp-fed-rates-inflation-deutsche-bank-2022-6">fears of an economic recession continue to rise</a>, this years-long trend is starting to slow down.Barclays expects second-quarter earnings from digital advertisers to see muted reactions from investors, and lowered its price target considerably for Meta, Snap, <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/googl-stock">Alphabet</a>, and <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/pins-stock">Pinterest</a>. "Is there enough ad spend to go around in 2022? We think no," Barclays said, arguing that strong growth from TikTok's and <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/stocks/aapl-stock">Apple's</a> budding advertising businesses will capture 33% of every incremental ad dollar in 2022.Apple's advertising business, which includes its app store ad placements, has grown to about $7 billion, while TikTok is on pace to grow its advertising revenue from $4 billion to more than $12 billion this year, according to the note. "This begs the question of who is slated to lose out? We think it's likely 'everyone' with growth figures from Snap, Meta, YouTube and the open web already reflecting some of the beating," Barclays said. Barclays cut its price target for Meta and Snap to $280 and $20, respectively. Those levels represent limited upside for the stocks, and are nowhere near their peaks in 2021.

Snapchat roasts Facebook with a Russian bot filter on April Fools' Day

The company has reportedly been testing the new addition on the iOS version of Snapchat.
With the feature enabled, Snapchat will automatically offer the option to add smart filters to your snaps based on your location. For example, if you're in New York City's Financial District, you may see a filter showing cash raining from the top of your snap. 
To access the feature, you'll need to make sure the Snapchat app is up to date on your phone. Then, head over to the Settings menu, select Manage under Additional Services, and make sure the Filters option is switched on.
This will allow the app to use your location to unlock certain filters. It's unclear exactly which locations trigger filters, but some Snapchat users have already begun to notice the change.

Snapchat has yet to acknowledge the new feature, which leads us to believe that the company is still testing this location-based filter system for a widespread release. 
The addition of these sticker-like filters could also give Snapchat a new advantage in the advertising space as well. Brands like Taco Bell and GrubHub have already been using Snapchat as a new way to reach users. But, as Lorenz points out, the ability to overlay their logo on a snap through a filter could take that concept to the next level. 
Japanese messaging app Line has already made a business out of allowing users to create, share, and sell their sticker designs. In November 2013, Line reported that 20% of its revenue in Q3 came from paid stickers, according to<a href="http://techcrunch.com/2014/04/17/line-creators-market/"> TechCrunch</a>.
This discovery of these new Snapchat filters comes just after the company introduced other significant additions to the app. The recently unveiled Our Story feature for Snapchat allows people attending the same party or event to upload photos and videos to a central story. In early May, Snapchat added the ability to send instant messages that vanish and video phone calls.

But when Kahane recently moved his production company's offices from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills, something went awry - thanks to his assistant.
While sending out the company's updated address to the A-listers in his boss' rolodex, the assistant <a href="http://defamer.gawker.com/gawker-buys-100-000-email-chain-from-judd-apatow-1496673706" target="_blank">accidentally cc'd</a>, not bcc'd, all the recipients whose initials have an A or B.
The cc'd list included over 200 names, from studio heads such as Disney's Sean Bailey and New Regency's Pam Abdy to celebrities such as Judd Apatow, Casey Affleck, and Warren Beatty.
Apatow was the first to "reply all."
