The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has submitted its initial probe report on the Levana Suites hotel fire, recommending action against 22 engineers and zonal officers for allegedly conniving with the builder and turning a blind eye to illegal construction activity. The building now faces demolition since it was illegally constructed. The fire on Monday left four people dead, while seven others suffered burn injuries. The LDA has also lodged an FIR at the Hazratganj police station against <keyword id="14907942" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mukesh-jasnani" source="Orion">Mukesh Jasnani</keyword> of M/S Bansal Construction and his partners for carrying out commercial activity of running a hotel on a residential plot. LDA Vice-Chairman Indramani Tripathi constituted the probe committee headed by the Authoritiy's Secretary <keyword id="3246340" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="pawan-kumar-gangwar" source="Orion">Pawan Kumar Gangwar</keyword> to fix accountability for the incident and the report was submitted late on Monday night. After the initial probe, the committee found engineers posted in 'Zone six' (which includes Hazratganj) since July 2, 2017 responsible for the incident. The 22 engineers/zonal officers indicted by the LDA inquiry team include executive engineers Arun Kumar Singh, O.P. Mishra (both retired), superintending engineers <keyword id="5155996" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="zahiruddin" source="Orion">Zahiruddin</keyword> and <keyword id="277708" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kamaljeet-singh" source="Orion">Kamaljeet Singh</keyword>, assistant engineers O.P. Gupta, Rakesh Mohan, Radhey <keyword id="162719" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="shyam-singh" source="Orion">Shyam Singh</keyword>, Vinod <keyword id="359036" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kumar-gupta" source="Orion">Kumar Gupta</keyword>, Amar Kumar Mishra, <keyword id="367444" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nagendra-singh" source="Orion">Nagendra Singh</keyword> and Ismail Khan. The SP-BSP has together managed to win 15 seats. IndiaToday-AxisMyIndia exit polls 2019 predicts that Mayavati’s BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) is set to win from 16 seats in Uttar Pradesh. This number is the total seats the party will get in the state along with its allies SP and RLD. IN 2019 elections, BSP nominated its candidates from 38 seats. As per the seat sharing arrangement, SP contested from 37 seats and RLD faced the elections from 3 seats. Mayavati has chosen not to contest in 2019 Lok Sabha elections in order to focus more on the election campaign for the victory of her Mahagathbandhan. As per the Chanakya-News24 Exit Poll, the BSP- SP and RLD coalition might win 13 out of 80 seats with over 65 seats predicted for the BJP from the state and just 2 seats predicted for the Congress party. Uttar Pradesh state has the largest number of parliamentary seats in the country numbering 80 in total. In 2014 elections for the Lok Sabha, BSP could not get a single seat in UP. In 2009 elections, BSP got 20 seats from UP leaving BJP with just 10 seats. In 2004 and 1999 Lok Sabha elections, the results gave the party 19 seats and 14 seats respectively. Talking of the vote share in 2014 elections, BSP had got 19.6 % votes in the state while the BJP had got 42.3 % votes. Some of the key candidates like Haji Fazulrahman contested for Saharanpur seat, Girish Chandra was nominated by the party from Nagina (SC) and Amar Chandra Jauhar faced the elections from Shahjahanpur (SC). While nominating their candidates as per the seat sharing agreement, BSP and SP gave two seats for RLD. These two parties have decided not to contest in the two constituencies of Amethi and Raebareli from where the Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are contesting.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Tuesday signed a <keyword id="78814" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="memorandum-of-understanding">memorandum of understanding</keyword> (<keyword id="6368586" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="MoU">MoU</keyword>) with the <keyword id="44991" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ghaziabad">Ghaziabad</keyword> Development Authority (GDA) for the 9.41 km long Metro expansion from <keyword id="185815" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dilshad-Garden">Dilshad Garden</keyword> in Delhi to Ghaziabad’s <keyword id="523007" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="new-bus-stand">New Bus Stand</keyword>. The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 1,770 crore. DMRC's director of business development, SD Sharma, and GDA vice-chairman, Santosh Yadav, signed the MoU in the presence of <keyword id="2347281" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi-Metro-MD-Mangu-Singh">Delhi Metro MD Mangu Singh</keyword> at the <keyword id="1381796" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ghaziabad-Authority">Ghaziabad authority</keyword>'s headquarters. The stretch will have a total of seven stations – <keyword id="2347285" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shaheed-Nagar">Shaheed Nagar</keyword>, <keyword id="2347286" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajbagh">Rajbagh</keyword>, <keyword id="63825" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajendra-Nagar">Rajendra Nagar</keyword>, <keyword id="404738" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shyam-Park">Shyam Park</keyword>, <keyword id="6358206" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mohan-Nagar">Mohan Nagar</keyword>, <keyword id="4414539" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Arthala">Arthala</keyword> and New Bus Stand. The corridor is expected to be completed by June 2017. 

	According to Metro officials, work will be expedited to commission the project ahead of schedule. Delhi Metro MD Mangu Singh said, "Work on technical studies, including soil profiling and ensuring proper power supply for the project, will immediately start. The actual work on ground can be seen in the next three months.”

"I repaid the faith by scoring the first goal. And, at the felicitation ceremony in the evening, while my name was called Pele refused to shake hands with me. 'You're my enemy, you scored the goal against us,' Pele told me in a lighter vein. He distinctly remembered my jersey number 22." Later, he pulled me and hugged me and said you 'played well, keep it up'." His former teammate Pradip Chowdhury also recalled that match and said: "It was raining for three days and it left Eden Gardens slushy." "But with 90,000 fans packed the stadium to the hilt, the match began. Football passion had reached a never before high." The Mohun Bagan players were left nervous and the legendary PK Banerjee, who was the coach of the team, gave them a mantra, he recalled. "We all were very nervous, PK da told us: 'don't panic, play for pride, you are here representing the country. This match will remain etched in history and everyone will keep talking about this match. "His first sight left all of us awe-struck. Everyone has to go one day. I will pray for his eternal peace," Chowdhury said. "A lot has been said about the match, but I would say the reception he got at the airport was unprecedented. No head of state or any dignitary was bestowed with such a reception. Passion had reached a zenith," Gautam Sarkar, former India footballer said. Another former national player Dipendu Biswas said: "He is the biggest star in sports, a true Mahasamrat (king) of football. There is no footballer who is not influenced by him. Recently we saw giant posters of him, wishing him 'get well soon' in the galleries of the Qatar World Cup. It's the end of an era." India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu said: "He's an icon - not just of our sport, but of our world - has gone. Rest easy, King Pele, and thank you for all that you've done for our game." India defender Sandesh Jhingan also mourned the loss and tweeted: "A legend has left, an era has ended. But his legacy will forever remain. I will always be grateful for having the chance to be connected in a very small way with the Pele Foundation. May his soul rest well." New Delhi, Mar 5 () Low-cost international carrier Air India Express, which is up for sale along with parent Air India, added 186 people to its workforce in the current fiscal through 14 employment advertisements, Parliament was informed on Thursday. Also, the tenure of the incumbent chief executive officer (CEO) is valid till April 30 this year, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha. "A total of 14 employment advertisements were given by Air India Express in FY 2019 -2020 and 186 employees have been inducted so far," the minister said in his reply. A two-tier selection procedure has been laid down for regular appointment to the post of CEO of Air India Express, he said in response to another question. The selection procedure provides for appointment of CEO with the approval of government based on the recommendations of a duly constituted Selection Committee and Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC) of Air India Board, Puri said.K Shyam Sundar is the current CEO of Air India Express.In reply to a question on Air India Express market share, Puri said it stood at 5.9 per cent and 6.1 per cent in FY18 and FY19 respectively, while market share in the April-December period of the current fiscal was 7.1 per cent. The movie, based on the mythological epic Ramayana, is expected to bring in opening day collections of ₹50-60 crore for the dubbed versions. The Hindi original is also expected to clock in ₹20 crore, predicts a research report by Elara Capital. As <a href="https://www.dnaindia.com/bollywood/report-adipurush-overseas-advance-booking-bulldozes-past-rs-6-crore-mark-prabhas-om-raut-kriti-sanon-saif-ali-khan-3047559">per media reports</a>, its advance bookings have been creating buzz, especially in overseas markets like Canada and Australia. If it’s able to manage a good opening, this big budget movie will be able to breach the ₹350- crore lifetime earnings mark – unlike Prabhas’ earlier movies Saaho and Radhe Shyam whose collections at ₹280 crore and ₹150 crore, respectively, were way below expectations “The film may surpass our estimates based on good content and word-of-mouth. Ticket prices are expected to be premium, around 20% higher than the average ticket prices on a pan-India level,” says Karan Taurani and Rounak Roy of Elara Capital. Adipurush will be released across India on June 16 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon, and is directed by Om Raut who had delivered the superhit movie, Tanaji. Small budget films not bringing in the moolah In spite of a few recent hits like Pathaan, The Kerala Story, Kantara and more, movie theatres have been struggling to bring back footfalls to match the pre-Covid levels. “Small and medium budget films continue to struggle as frequency of content becoming successful has dropped sharply in the North and South circuits,” the research report from Elara, which tracks PVR, says. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan's latest release Zara Hatke Zara Bachke has minted ₹37.4 crore in its first week, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The movie, directed by Laxman Utekar, saw a decent opening, garnering ₹5.49 crore on the first day of its release. In spite of the positive surprise that the movie delivered, Elara believes that the momentum was driven by the Buy-One-Get-One-Free (BOGO) offer. It reduces distributor-producer share to approximately 30% from 50% earlier. “It makes film production economics unviable; while it is a good promotional activity to propel audiences back into the cinema halls to drive frequency, good and consistent content is the only big driver for improved occupancy levels,” say Taurani and Roy in their note. A slow start to FY24 The first quarter of FY24 has gotten off to a slow start in terms of box office, with no surprises except for The Kerala Story and Hollywood movie, Fast X. Hindi film box office collections for the first quarter are expected to be 20% lower than what they were pre-Covid. As compared to the same quarter last year, the drop is expected to be sharper at 30%, the research firm predicts. For context, the same time last year had hit movies like Rajamouli’s RRR, Karthik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Yash’s KGF 2. The second quarter of FY24 is expected to see many big movie releases like Karthik Aryan’s Satyaprem, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Ranveer Singh’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. “Q2FY24 may be the best quarter even if half of these films report a healthy box office collection. Woes persist for exhibitors as Hindi content recovery is important to drive advertising growth, which remains under pressure,” the Elara report opines. The number of Hindi films lined up for release however remains lower than pre-Covid levels — by 30-35%.
