The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 96 crore in the year-ago period, Jubilant FoodWorks said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations in the fourth quarter was at Rs 1,269.85 crore as against Rs 1,175.97 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Total expenses were higher at Rs 1,205.15 crore as compared with Rs 1,038.27 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, the company said. Cost of raw materials consumed in the quarter was at Rs 290.96 crore, up from Rs 254.96 crore in the same period of FY22. The company, which holds the exclusive master franchise rights from Domino's Pizza Inc for <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal, besides exclusive rights to develop and operate <keyword id="597891" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="dunkin" source="Orion">Dunkin</keyword>' restaurants in India and Popeyes restaurants in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, said it opened 61 new stores in India in the fourth quarter. "With the addition of 56 new stores and entry in six new cities, Domino's has expanded its network strength to 1,816 stores across 393 cities," it added. The company also opened one new restaurant for Popeyes and Hong's Kitchen, taking their network tally to 13 stores each. For Dunkin', it opened three new coffee-first stores, and eight out of 21 Dunkin' stores are now as per the brand's new "Coffee-first" identity, it added. For the fiscal ended March 31, 2023, consolidated net profit was at Rs 353.03 crore from Rs 418.09 crore in the previous year, down 15.56 per cent. In FY23, consolidated revenue from operations was at Rs 5,158.25 crore as compared to Rs 4,396.12 crore in FY22. Jubilant FoodWorks Q4 net profit falls 70 pc to Rs 28.54 crore

Noida-based <keyword id="99107" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jubilant">Jubilant</keyword> Life Sciences on Tuesday announced that its subsidiary Jubilant Generics Ltd has entered into a non-exclusive licensing agreement with US-based Gilead Sciences to manufacture and sell anti-viral drug remdesivir, which is under clinical trials globally as a potential treatment of COVID-19 disease. The pact allows Jubilant to register, manufacture and sell remdesivir in 127 countries, including in India. "We are very happy to strengthen our partnership with Gilead to license remdesivir, which, based on initial data, shows promise to be a potential therapy for COVID-19, a pandemic creating unprecedented health and economic crisis globally," <keyword id="671153" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shyam-S-Bhartia">Shyam S Bhartia</keyword>, Chairman and Hari S. Bhartia, Co Chairman and Managing Director, Jubilant Life Sciences Limited said in a statement. Remdesivir is among the top WHO drugs currently under various trials to treat the deadly respiratory disease. Several additional clinical trials are currently ongoing to generate more data on the safety and efficacy of remdesivir as a treatment for COVID-19. "We will be monitoring the clinical trials and regulatory approvals very closely and would be ready to launch the drug shortly after the required regulatory approvals. We also plan to produce the drug's Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in-house helping its cost effectiveness and consistent availability," said Jubilant Life Sciences in a stock exchange filing. Gilead Sciences said last week that it was negotiating long-term voluntary licences with several generic drugmakers in India and Pakistan to produce experimental antiviral drug remdesivir. Union Health Minister <keyword id="196226" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Harsh-Vardhan">Harsh Vardhan</keyword> last week said that there is a confusion over the pricing and patent of experimental anti-viral drug remdesivir. The <keyword id="46535" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Health-ministry">Health Ministry</keyword> had recently said that it is examining remdesivir, which was used during the Ebola outbreak, as one protocol in the treatment for Covid-19. New Delhi, May 13 () Shares of Jubilant Life Sciences on Wednesday rose 5 per cent after the company said it has entered into a pact with Gilead Sciences for an investigational drug, remdesivir which is a potential therapy for COVID-19. The scrip rallied 4.99 per cent to Rs 429.95 on the BSE, and 4.99 per cent to Rs 428.55 on the NSE. The non-exclusive agreement, signed between Jubilant Life Sciences' subsidiary Jubilant Generics Ltd and Gilead, will grant the former the right to register, manufacture and sell the latter's investigational drug, remdesivir - a potential therapy for COVID-19 - in 127 countries including India, the company said in a regulatory filing. The EUA is based on available data from two global clinical trials -- US National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases' placebo-controlled Phase 3 study in patients with moderate to severe symptoms of COVID-19, and Gilead's global Phase 3 study evaluating remdesivir in patients with severe disease. "Multiple additional clinical trials are ongoing to generate more data on the safety and efficacy of remdesivir as a treatment for COVID-19," the filing said. The report further said that there are three factors to keep in mind for Jubilant’s new offering – the pricing is attractive, the economics that can be achieved with Biryani is comparable to that of Domino’s, however, while Domino’s has a consistent taste offering through its pizza, managing the same with biryani could be a difficult task as it will also depend on the chefs hired. And, the company will also face competition from established brands like Biryani By Kilo, Behrouz Biryani, Biryani Bluez as well as traditional biryani outlets across different cities which have a brand legacy working for them like Hyderabad’s Paradise Biryani, among others. “JFL is opening three restaurants in Gurgaon for Delivery, Takeaway and Dine-In, with more restaurants planned to open in NCR over the next few months. In our view, this is a positive move by the company, which would help JFL to boost the revenue growth significantly going ahead,” said Amarjeet Maurya, AVP, Mid Caps, Angel Broking. Biryani makes Domino’s Indian franchise owner 7% fatter⁠— the street's evidently "jubilant"

New Delhi, Jan 31 () Drug firm Jubilant Life Sciences on Friday reported a 23.97 per cent fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 203.38 crore for the third quarter ended on December 31, 2019.
It had posted a net profit of Rs 267.52 crore in the October-December quarter a year ago, Jubilant Life Sciences said in a BSE filing.
Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 2,279.89 crore, down 3.11 per cent, as against Rs 2,353.08 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
"We reported stable performance y-o-y and growth in EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) with better margins sequentially and profit-after-tax was lower due to certain exceptional charges. Demand conditions across all pharma businesses, specialty intermediates and nutritional products are strong. Overall we are confident of delivering strong performance going forward," Jubilant Life Sciences Chairman Shyam S Bhartia and Co-Chairman &amp; MD Hari S Bhartia said in a joint statement.
Total expenses of the company for the December quarter stood at Rs 1,993.28 crore as against Rs 2,035.37 crore in third quarter of 2018-19, down 2.06 per cent.
Revenue from pharmaceuticals segment for the third quarter of 2019-20 rose 1.82 per cent to Rs 1,450.15 crore as against Rs 1,424.14 crore in the same period last year.
"Pharmaceutical segment reported steady revenue growth during the quarter. We witnessed healthy growth in Allergy Therapy Products and API businesses with stable performance in Radiopharma, CMO and Generics," they said.
While, revenue from Life Sciences Ingredients segment for the said quarter was down 11.41 per cent to Rs 797.52 crore as against Rs 900.33 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Drug discovery and development solutions segment registered a revenue growth of 26.27 per cent to Rs 68.48 crore over Rs 54.23 crore in the year-ago quarter.
"The drug discovery services business reported robust growth of 26 per cent y-o-y in revenue and a 2.7x increase in EBITDA with a margin of 25 per cent during the quarter. In view of the strong demand, we are making significant investments in this business to double capacities over the next 2-3 years," Bhartia said.
Shares of Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd closed at Rs 581.95 on the BSE, down 3.55 per cent over previous close. KRH RUJ
