With India’s health and beauty market projected to grow at 5-6% between 2022-27, they aim to make a significant impact, the data and analytics firm adds. J is the new K of beauty It’s not that there are no similarities between J-beauty and K-beauty. They share the same DNA of being rooted in R&amp;D, and Japanese brands also introduced revolutionary products like oil cleansers. “While K-beauty relies on eye-catching product assertions, trendy ingredients, unconventional packaging, and quick results, J-beauty emphasizes efficiency, enduring effects of formulations, and refined packaging akin to Western beauty goods,” explains Mani Bhushan <keyword id="19906945" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shukla" source="keywords">Shukla</keyword>, consumer analyst at GlobalData. What’s the next trend? Indian consumers are constantly hunting for the next big beauty trend. As per GlobalData’s Q4 2023 consumer survey, 74% of female consumers are consistently or frequently influenced by the uniqueness and enjoyability of a product or service when making health and beauty purchases. If easy to use and less cumbersomeness picks up as the next trendsetter, Japanese companies could have an upper hand. Japanese skin and hair care products claim to be simple and require minimal effort to apply and use. “Although both K-beauty and J-beauty incorporate multi-step routines into their skincare regimens, they differ in complexity. J-beauty sets itself apart from the former by embracing a more streamlined approach with fewer products, resembling Western beauty regimens,” says Shukla. As per GlobalData’s survey, 66% of female consumers in India said that their choice of a beauty product is influenced by how well it aligns with their time and money constraints.

While announcing names of the four astronauts, PM Modi expressed happiness and said that they will bring new glory to nation's space exploration programs. Notably, Gaganyaan would be India's first human space mission. All-out preparations are underway at ISRO for the project. Gagayaan would add another feat to India's successful space exploration programs. In previous display of space prowess, India became the only nation last year to make successful landing of Chandrayaan on the South Pole of the <keyword id="19899207" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="moon" source="keywords">Moon</keyword>. By 2035, ISRO plans to set up own 'Bharatiya Antariksha Station' and has also prepared a timeline to send first Indian to the Moon by 2040.

The decision will be implemented in all 28,000 schools affiliated with the <keyword id="119108" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="up-board" source="Orion">UP Board</keyword>. During the pandemic, the board had reduced the syllabus by 30 per cent for Classes 9 to 12. The practice continued till the last academic session. However, from the new session, the entire syllabus will be taught in all subjects. The new session will start on April 1. UP Board secretary <keyword id="4814406" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="divyakant-shukla" source="Orion">Divyakant Shukla</keyword> said, "During the last two years, due to Covid-19, regular teaching and learning in schools were disrupted. Keeping in view the interest of the students, the course committee recommended the curtailment of 30 per cent of the annual course. Under this, the curriculum in schools was shortened. Now, as the conditions have returned to normal, 100 per cent of the syllabus will be taught from the new academic session." The UP Board secretary added that the secondary schools are back to their regular routine after two years and hence, there is no justification left for the curtailment of the syllabus. The UP Board has also laid emphasis on paying attention to extra-curricular activities for the all-around development of the students from the new session. UP schools back to 100% syllabus for the first time since pandemic

The Board has initiated legal action and sent them to jail. Besides, a total of 34 students have also been booked for copying. Board secretary <keyword id="4814406" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="divyakant-shukla" source="Orion">Divyakant Shukla</keyword> said, "Maximum number of solvers, known as '<keyword id="6468448" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="munna-bhai" source="Orion">Munna Bhai</keyword>' in local parlance, have been caught in two districts of Ghazipur and Ballia, which accounts for around 50 per cent of the total number of impersonators caught till Wednesday. Eighteen <keyword id="947669" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="munna-bhais" source="Orion">Munna Bhais</keyword> have been caught and sent to jail in Ghazipur and 15 from Ballia." Five solvers have been nabbed in Agra and four each from Prayagraj and Azamgarh. Three impersonators each have been arrested from Pratapgrah and <keyword id="43253" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="gorakhpur" source="Orion">Gorakhpur</keyword>, two each from Jaunpur and Bhadohi. One each has been arrested from Firozabad, Mathura, Kasganj, Basti, Kushinagar, Ayodhya, Bulandshahr, Rampur and Balrampur. "The Board is updating and changing its strategy daily to conduct the exam in a fair manner," he said. The secretary said Friday (February 24) is an important day when English paper of class 12 would be held in the second shift in which over 23.5 lakh candidates will appear. In such a situation, the Board is working on a new strategy. Officers of the education department have been asked to conduct surprise inspections of the centres a day before the exam. Strongrooms will be checked and Board will keep an eye through CCTV camera. Sixty-five impersonators held during UP board exams

After hectic parleys and back-channel discussions in the past one week, it was decided that the 67-year-old from Bengaluru would be the 36th Board president, one of the sources familiar with the development, said. Jay <keyword id="1858" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="shah" source="Orion">Shah</keyword>, son of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will continue as BCCI Secretary for his second consecutive term. Shah is also expected to replace Ganguly as India's representative at the all-powerful ICC Board. "Jay has been at the forefront of dealing with ICC matters on behalf of BCCI and with the 2023 World Cup around the corner in just one year's time, it is important that India has robust leadership at the Board of Directors meeting in the coming days," a BCCI source said. Binny will officially take charge of BCCI on October 18 at the AGM in Mumbai. There won't be any election to any post as all candidates will be chosen unopposed. All the people in the fray, including Shah and Shukla, filed their nomination papers on Tuesday. Binny, though, is a surprise choice to head the BCCI. However, hints were dropped that his name will crop up for some position when Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) named him as its representative at the BCCI AGM instead of secretary Santosh Menon. "Roger is one of the finest human beings and a thorough gentleman, who has graced the field for India. Plus he is also a World Cup hero and has a squeaky-clean image. He had resigned from the selection committee as his son Stuart back then was in contention to be in the Indian team," said another BCCI source. "He is the right choice for the job," the source added. The only Congressman in the BCCI cabinet is <keyword id="13855" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rajeev-shukla" source="Orion">Rajeev Shukla</keyword>, who will continue as vice president. Sports minister Anurag Thakur's younger brother Arun Singh Dhumal, who is currently the treasurer, will now become IPL chairman. He will replace Brijesh Patel. Influential Maharashtra BJP leader Ashish Shelar will be the new treasurer which means that he won't become Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president. He was supposed to take up the role with support from the Sharad Pawar faction. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's close aide Devajit Saikia will replace Jayesh George as the new joint secretary. Whether BCCI will contest for the ICC chairmanship hasn't been decided as yet. The medium pacer was one of the architects of India's historic World Cup triumph in 1983. In eight games, he took 18 wickets, the highest in that edition of the prestigious tournament. Ganguly, who reached Mumbai on Monday evening, had a lot of meetings with the stakeholders in New Delhi, last week. The former India captain was keen to continue as BCCI President but he was told that there is no precedence of giving a second term to the Board president. "Sourav was offered IPL chairmanship but he politely declined the offer. His logic was that he cannot accept becoming head of a sub-committee in BCCI after heading the same institution. He had expressed interest in continuing in the position," the BCCI source said. In the case of Dhumal, the decision makers waited for Ganguly to take a call on IPL chairmanship and once he refused, they promoted the Himachal man, who, along with secretary Shah, is known to be one of the most efficient men in the last BCCI cabinet. With Ganguly moving out of the picture, the East representation was always going to be Assam CM Biswa Sarma's call as he played a key role even last time. The names of members in the BCCI Apex Council and IPL Governing Council will be known when the final list will be published in a few days. He later appeared on shows such as "Jaane Pehchaane Se... Ye Ajnabbi", "Love U Zindagi" but became a household name with "Balika Vadhu". Veteran journalist and India Today’s Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai was at # 8 wit6 6.6 lakh engagements and Rana Ayyub was at #6 with 7.6 lakh engagements. In other categories, Comedians and Start-up founders made their mark. Among comedians, Kunal Kamra topped impressively with 1.1 million engagements, followed by Ashish Chanchlani at #2 with 4.92 lakh engagements, Vir Das at #3 with 3.2 lakh engagements, Atul Khatri at #4 with 2.21 lakh engagements and Amit Bhadana with 1.1 lakh engagements at #5. Cred Founder Kunal Shah lead the Business Founders category with 60K engagements and Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma was next with 23K engagements. Two girls, <keyword id="7589498" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="hansika-shukla">Hansika Shukla</keyword> of DPS Meerut road Ghaziabad and <keyword id="7589497" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="karishma-arora">Karishma Arora</keyword> of SD Public School Muzaffarnagar Uttar Pradesh have secured top position by scoring 499 out of 500. The second spot is shared by three girls: Gaurangi Chawla of Nirmal Ashram school, Rishikesh Aishwarya of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Rai Bareilly and Bhavya of BR SK International Public School Jind Haryana who secured 498 out of 500 marks.The third spot is shared by 18 students. As many as 94,299 students have secured 90% marks in Class 12 examination. The results are available on CBSE’s website.
